  • Exception converting Office files to PDF using ABCpdf.NET onWindows Server 2008

    Has anyone delt with this exception from ABCpdf? We're running on Server 2008 and only have issues converting Office files (Word and Excel). This all worked well on Server 2003. Because we're only having issues with Office files I wonder if it's related to the XPS support on Server 2008? The code that calls into this function is running as a Windows Service.   • Mimicking the UltraGridColumnChooser's drag & drop ability

    (Infragistics 2008 Vol. 3, CLR 2.0) Infragistics's UltraGrid comes with a column chooser user control, which is simply a vertical arrangement of columns with checkboxes that toggle a column's hidden state. In addition, it allows you to pick a column and drag it directly to the grid so you don't have to manually position it afterwards. (This is particularly handy when you already have a lot of visible columns and have no clue where the new one ended up.) I'm building my own column chooser based on an UltraTree. Getting the checkboxes to behave the same wasn't an issue, but I haven't found a way to drag a column from the tree to the grid and have it accept it.     In my Android app I am sharing one httpclient for all activities/threads. All requests are made by callling getHttpClient().execute(httpget) or getHttpClient().execute(httppost). Is this implementation complete/correct and safe for multiple threads?     Hi, The Three20 is great library. It's making the work with tables very easy. But one gap that I noticed - is deletion of rows, with animation. And I doesn't implement the DataSourceDelegate or TableViewDelegate because I'm using the Three20 as much as possible.     I'm trying to send commands to the Tor control port programmatically to make it refresh the chain. I haven't been able to find any examples in C#, and my solution's not working. The request times out.   • resizing row's height in QTreeWidget/QTreeView

    Hi everyone, I have some problems with sizing row's height in QTreeWidget. I use QStyledItemDelegate with QPlainTextEdit. During editing text in QPlainTextEdit i check for changes with a help of: rect = self.blockBoundingRect(self.firstVisibleBlock()) and if text's height changes i resize editor size and need row in QTreeWidget also resizing. But i don't know how to inform TreeWidget or a Delegate about changes. I tried to initialize editor with index, that i could use in a future, but Delegate creates new editor every time and i failed to use signals. Also I used following function to catch resize event, but it' doesn't: bool QAbstractItemDelegate::editorEvent ( QEvent * event, QAbstractItemModel * model, const QStyleOptionViewItem & option, const QModelIndex & index ) How can i bound editor's size changes with TreeWidget? And one more thing, by default all items (cells) in TreeWidget have -1 or some big value as default width. I need whole text in cell to be visible, so how can i limit cells width only by visible range and make it expand in height? I want for it the same behavior as in instance a table in MSWord.   • How to use Android's CacheManager?

    I'm currently developing an Android application that fetches images using http requests. It would be quite swell if I could cache those images in order to improve to performance and bandwidth use. I came across the CacheManager class in the Android reference, but I don't really know how to use it, or what it really does. I already scoped through this example, but I need some help understanding it: /core/java/android/webkit/gears/ApacheHttpRequestAndroid.java Also, the reference states: "Network requests are provided to this component and if they can not be resolved by the cache, the HTTP headers are attached, as appropriate, to the request for revalidation of content." I'm not sure what this means or how it would work for me, since CacheManager's getCacheFile accepts only a String URL and a Map containing the headers. Not sure what the attachment mentioned means. An explanation or a simple code example would really do my day. Thanks! Update Here's what I have right now.     I'd like to convert a regular NSString into an NSString with the (what I assume are) ASCII hex values and back. I need to produce the same output that the Java methods below do, but I can't seem to find a way to do it in Objective-C. I've found some examples in C and C++ but I've had a hard time working them into my code.   • Diffence between FQL query and Graph API object access

    What's the difference between accessing user data with the Facebook Graph API (http://graph.facebook.com/btaylor) and using the Graph API to make a FQL query of the same user (https://api.facebook.com/method/fql.query?query=QUERY). Also, does anyone know which of them the Facebook Developer Toolkit (for ASP.NET) uses? The reason I ask is because I'm trying to access the logged in user's birthday after they begin a Facebook Connect session on my site, but when I use the toolkit it doesn't return it. However, if I make a manual call to the Graph API for that user object, it does return it. It's possible I might have something wrong with my call from the toolkit. I think I may need to include the session key, but I'm not sure how to get it.     I try to open a specific email attachment type with my activity, the attachment itself is a plain text windows style ini file with the extension *.os. In the email this file is attached as "application/octet-stream".     Hi Telerik's RADGrid, basing on their example on http://demos.telerik.com/aspnet-ajax/grid/examples/dataediting/programaticlinqupdates/defaultcs.aspx Problem: I can insert and delete, however updating doesn't work. No error trapped. Data just doesn't change. From the code below it looks like Telerik Grid is doing some kung-fu behind the scenes to wire things up. I can't see the db receiving any update statements.   • jQuery Ajax call - Set variable value on success.

    Hey all, I have an application that I am writing that modifies data on a cached object in the server. The modifications are performed through an ajax call that basically updates properties of that object. When the user is done working, I have a basic 'Save Changes' button that allows them to Save the data and flush the cached object. In order to protect the user, I want to warn them if the try to navigate away from the page when modifications have been made to the server object if they have not saved. So, I created a web service method called IsInitialized that will return true or false based on whether or not changes have been saved. If they have not been saved, I want to prompt the user and give them a chance to cancel their navigation request. Here's my problem - although I have the calls working correctly, I can't seem to get the ajax success call to set the variable value on its callback function. Is there a way to use that ajax call, but still catch the window.onunload event? (without making synchronos ajax)

    I want to loop through a collection of objects and add them all to a table. The destination table has an auto-increment field. If I add a single object there is no problem. If I add two objects both with the primary key of zero, the entity framework fails. I can manually specify primary keys but the whole point of trying the EF was to make life easier not more complicated.     Background I'm trying to stream a wave file in Silverlight 4 using MediaStreamSource implementation found here. The problem is I want to play the file while it's still buffering, or at least give user some visual feedback while it's buffering.
