• iTunes Connect: Can I have one bank account for every currency I receive?

  As I understand it, Apple does not do currency exchanges when they pay the app developers, they just forward the 70% share in the currency the customers bought it. So, if an app is available in different markets, the developer receives payments in different currencies. Is there a way to enter one bank account for every currency? For example, I'd like to set up a bank account in EUR for payments in EUR, one in GBP for payments in GBP, and likewise for USD etc. If all payments are going to the same bank account, my bank charges high conversion rates every time a payment in a 'foreign' currency comes in.

• Revamp application

  I am a software developer having an experience of 3 yrs. I want to play with latest technologies always. But this is not practical. Because say, I developed a web application in .Net 3.5, now its 30% done. After the release of .Net 4.0, my mind is always goes with .Net 4.0. I think like this, lot of features are in new version, so why shouln't I implement those versions in my application. When I worked with IT companies, most of them code with very old versions, some body use VB.NET, C, even Classic ASP. So what might be the points should I consider if I revamp an application?

In addition to the usual chunk of bug fixes, this release includes the following new features: NATIVE authentication, a new authentication mechanism with better support for managing credentials. • How can I make my game more popular without paying money?

  I am a game designer, software developer, composer and graphic artist and made the 3D Hack 'n Slay MMO Forgotten Elements on my own. It's playable at open Beta and will be released at the end of the year. I used Plain Old JAVA, JPCT 3D Engine, Tomcat Webserver and Blender 3D / Gimp to manage all the tasks. I developed the whole game from scratch. For me the hardest task in this challenge is probably the whole thing about marketing and advertisement. Because it is a independent project and I am the only person working on it, there is no money I could invest for making advertisement. But anyhow... How could it be possible to make this game more popular? What would you suggest me?

• How can I compile an IP address to country lookup database to make available for free?

  How would I go about compiling an accurate database of IP addresses and their related countries to make available as an open source download for any web developer who wants to perform a geographic IP lookup? It seems that a company called MaxMind has a monopoly on geographic IP data, because most online tutorials I've seen for country lookups based on IP addresses start by suggesting a subscription to MaxMind's paid service (or their less accurate free 'Lite' version). I'm not completely averse to paying for their solution or using the free one, but the concept of an accurate open source equivalent that anyone can use without restriction appeals to me, and I think it would be useful for the web development community. How is geographic IP data collected, and how realistic is it to hope to maintain an up-to-date open version?

• Another Linq to SQL product, Enzo Multitenant Framework

  An open source library and full product have been developed for transparently splitting large tables across several databases for performance, similar to database table partitioning.  It is all handled along with the Linq to SQL framework, and looks pretty slick, I will be reviewing the product shortly.  It looks mostly transparent to the developer!  There are other capabilites worth a look.  This looks like it works for azure as well.   I'm a c# developer so far and just about to head into getting my skills up to date in WinRT. However, I'm having a crisis of faith and wondering if it might be a better career move to jump on the Objective-C bandwagon. The way I see it, Windows 8 might be a success or it might not. Apple technologies are a sure bet. Honestly, I don't want to get into Apple development. I'd prefer to pretend AAPL doesn't exist, but, unfortunately, that's not possible.

• Is there any way to prevent Googlebar from breaking Friendly 404s

  This might be considered a continuation of this question. If I output HTML after my 404 header, It displays properly in IE and FF unless the user has Google bar instaled. If I try header('HTTP/1.x 404 Not Found'); header("Location: http://www.example.com/?content=404_error"); die(); then I'm getting 302 from the redirect. It seems to overrule the 404 Supposedly if your output is larger than 512 bytes, the toolbar isn't supposed to override the page, but It seems to do it anyway. I found a setting in Google's Toolbar that said "Provide suggestions on navigation errors". Turning that off provides me with the behaviour I want my visitors to experience. Does anyone know if Google provides a way for a developer to over-ride that setting for all visitors?

• Embeding a generic google search with autocomplete - not a custom site search

  Most people's home page is google.com. My homepage is just a custom html page hosted on my computer. I do this because I am a web developer, and I have several projects that I work on a one time, so I like to have quick links to all of them. On that page I usually just have a Link to google.com for when I want to search. But below all of my quick links, I want to add a google search box (with Autocompletions). I first used a simple iframe to embed google.com into the page, but then my search results were confined to that iframe. I wanted to search for something, then my results would open in a new tab. I then came across this code snippet but it doesn't have Autocompletions: http://www.refactory.org/s/google_search/view/2 How can I add Autocompletions to this? Or is there a better way of doing it? • Issues With IIS Hosting Two Domains From Same Folder [closed]

  I have two different domain names that resolve to the same ASP.Net site. Both domains are hosted on the same server, which runs Windows Server 2003 and IIS6. The sites are differentiated in IIS Manager using host headers. However, both of the sites point to the same folder on the local drive for the site's page files. I am occasionally experiencing an ASP.Net error that says "The state information is invalid for this page and might be corrupted." I'm the site developer so I've addressed all the relevant code-related causes for this issue. However, I was wondering whether having two domains/sites sharing the same folder for an ASP.Net application might be causing this intermittent error. Also, is this generally a bad practice? Should I make separate, duplicate folders for each of the domains? Seems like that can become a maintenance headache.

They've asked me to joint their start-up as tech lead, designing and building their product from scratch. They're fully funded, and they know what they're doing. Taking the job would require giving up my safe, enjoyable, relaxed job for a risky, stressful, hard one, albeit with the potential to be really great in future. Should I take the job?

• Should I learn WPF? Is it a good time investment? [closed]

  Is it better (memory, time (of developer), space) to use single model that is unwrapped and uses a single material or to break a model down into appropriate bits, each with their own smaller texture/material? Or does it depend on the target platform as to what is acceptable - ie PC vs tablet? An example: Say you have a typical house with a tiled roof. Model it, make sure everything is attached, unwrap the walls/roof so in your UV template the walls and roof would be in one texture file, side-by-side in say a 512x512 file. Model the roof/walls as separate objects, unwrap them individually and have two UV templates. You could then have a 256x256 file for each one.

  Justed stumbled across CRaSH and although it looks mighty interesting, I'm wondering why a Java developer should invest time & energy into learning (yet another) shell language. What sort of standard- and cool-applications can CRaSH be used for? Is this like a Groovy-version of Jython? I guess, when the dust settles, I'm looking for CRaSH's "wow" factors.   Yesterday I was watching a lynda.com iphone development video and this developer started telling about how he has worked on 17 different languages from the days of mainframes in assembly/Cobol to now on iPhone Objective-C. My question is how do these developers keep shifting to new technology, without fearing the loss of experience they already have about a particular technology. I am trying to shift to Java from PHP and market considers this as non-relevant experience. How do these guys do it without losing the pay and not being considered a fresher in a particular technology.
