  • Migrating a hard drive from one system to another in Windows 7

    i am about to upgrade to a new laptop is it possible for me to just take my system drive and put it in the new one with little problems or will i need to reinstall windows i am currently running windows 7 professional i know on windows xp you generally could not do this but with windows 7s so called self healing capabilities i was interested to know if i could do this would save some time in the upgrade

  • Sending email from Drupal contact form, but GMail marks it as "Forged"

    Hi, My Drupal site sends email to a GMail account, but the emails sent all go into the Spam folder, and GMail puts up a bar with the message "This message was likely forged and did not originate from your account." Although I can create a filter to prevent them going to Spam, I want to start sending newsletters, and I suspect they'll have the same problem. I suspect the problem is with the way I've set up either PHP or Drupal to send mail. As far as I know it's just using the sendmail function. I've set the from address to "info@..." where ... is the site domain. Any tips on how I can make set up my outgoing mail so it won't be refused by GMail (and presumably other major mail providers)?     I have been banging my head with this one more the two weeks, and still don't know what the problem is ( I can't narrow it down). The problem is the following. I have a solution with 3 project in it all written in c# and I with LINQ. One project is the main web site, the other is the data layer (communication with the database) and the third one is a custom little CMS. The problem is the following: On a hosting provider when I publish the site it all works perfectly, but this site was needed to be hosted on the client server so I needed to do that. But the problem is that I also needed to configure the client server, because they don't have an Administrator employed (I know, I know ;) ). For the first time I some how managed, to set it up but a problem appear. My main web site is working just as it suppose to be - it reads (communicates with) the database, but My CMS is not. It shows the first log in page, but after that when I try to log in it throws the following error: A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: TCP Provider, error: 0 - A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.) So far I have tried the following: -setting time out on connection string to a higher value -configuration and after that turning off server firewall -checking the connection string over and over again (they are the same for all three projects and are saved in web.config) Important notes: I have tried executing the project from VS2008 with a connection string to the same database and the results are the same. That's why I think the problem is the SQL Server 2005 and not the IIS7. Any bit of information is more then welcomed.

    I am able to get the registration confirmation email to send out in deployment on Heroku, but when I try a registration on localhost:3000, I get the following error: undefined local variable or method `confirmed_at' for #<User:0xb67a1ff0> In my config/environments/production.rb file I have: config.action_mailer.default_url_options = { :host => 'xxxx.com' } And I have an initializer file with the following format: ActionMailer::Base.smtp_settings = { :user_name => "[email protected]", :password => "xxxxxx", :domain => "xxxx.com", :address => "smtp.sendgrid.net", :port => "xxx", :authentication => :plain, :enable_starttls_auto => true }; What settings do I need to get the localhost working?   • Mysql Servers for Attendance System

    I'm building an attendance system. There are about 20 places where people will check in and check out using Mifare 1K Card. It will use MySQL as the database. The system will display something like "#ID IN: 800AM" when the first time the user checks in and "#ID OUT: 400PM" when the user checks out. For this to work, all the databases need to be synchronized with each other all the times. For an example, if user A went to location #1 to check in but by the time he wants to return home, the server at location #1 went down, he needs to go to location #2 or the nearest server to check out. The server at location #2 should display '#ID OUT: 400PM" and not "#ID IN: 400PM" since he's already checked in. So, what should I use to ensure this idea will work? My main concern is with the network (other department manages it) which is very unpredictable. It just love to go down anytime it wants to. Update LOL, didn't realize my question is not clear, just noticed it when you guys pointed it out, sorry about that. My real question is, how can I configure my MySQL to be synchronized with each other (20 servers)? MySQL cluster ? (tried reading about it, but I'm not sure if it's the right thing to do) My current setup (first phase): Local database for each server OS: Slackware A main server that keeps track which staff is at which server A web based front end for the user to see their history (which connects to the server based on their records) Main Pros No worries about network problems since it is a local database Main Cons A user can only check in and out at the same server. Databases/Servers are not connected with each others. Have to add the user to each server if the users want to check in at different locations. Which means, if he wants to go to location A, he must be checked out from location A first and then check in at location B. The server at location B didn't know that the user has checked in before at A. By the way, I've already centralized my NTP to a local server. About the network, let's just say, I don't have the authority to make changes so that the network will be better. The network won't effect all 20 servers at once, usually, just a few of them for several times a week. If there are anything else you would like me to answer, please just ask.

    I am building a site that runs an automated process every 30 minutes to match up new flights with their respective user. Once this process is completed I want to email the flight details out to the respective user. However the flight info will be different for every single user with their being 0-300+ potential emails. Is this something that the MailChimp API will allow or do? I found this page http://apidocs.mailchimp.com/api/how-to/transactional-campaigns.php which I am not sure if this effects me.   • Git using wrong email address when talking to Heroku

    git clone [email protected]:myapp.git Results in a "myoldemailaddress not authorized to access myapp" myoldemailaddress was an email address I was using on an old heroku account, but it seems to be stuck using it, I can use my new one. I've removed the .heroku directory, and regenerated it, it has the correct user name and password, I can see my apps listed I've uploaded my key (I've regenerated my several times now) ssh-keygen -t rsa -C mynewaddress I uninstalled and reinstalled heroku on a different user in the same machine it works just fine. Something about my account has my old address, but I can't figure out where.

But what's the usage of the last parameter 'onRequestCompleted'. The Doc says it's the call back function. But, what if I do not want to execute a call back function? Now, when I try to install Windows 7 from my USB, my machine says Missing operating System And when I don't boot with USB, it says "bootmgr is missing" So now I am wondering, how I can install a boot loader, so I can install Windows 7?
