    Is it possible to make salt require that a particular file was appended to as opposed to the file merely existing? It seems like I can only require a file state. The source looks like it strips out any method names from a require attribute. In the example below, I only want the foo service to run if my lines have been appended to /etc/security/limits.conf. file.append: - name: /etc/security/limits.conf - text: - root hard nofile 65535 - root soft nofile 65535 foo: service.running: - enable: True - require: - file.append: /etc/security/limits.conf

  • Rolemanager not working when ASPDotNetStorefront served in a virtual folder with FormsAuthentication

    Does anyone know if there is a valid roleManager I can apply to ASPDotNetStorefront to get the site working? We have a website that has an ASP.Net storefront served in a virtual folder off the root. ourwebsite.com ourwebsite.com/shop Everything has been workign fine until we put the groundwork in place for forms authentication in the website recently. This caused an error on the production server when you tried to get into the shop... Unable to cast object of type 'System.Web.Security.RolePrincipal' to type 'AspDotNetStorefrontCore.AspDotNetStorefrontPrincipal'. Looking at the shop's web.config I noticed there was no RoleManager node, so I tried to fix the problem by removing it in the shop's web.config <roleManager enabled="false"> </roleManager> This prevented the error occurring, but also prevented the shopping basket from working. Instead I removed the rolemanager tag from the root website... <!-- Conflicting with AspDotNetStorefront <roleManager enabled="true" defaultProvider="CustomizedRoleProvider"> <providers> <add name="CustomizedRoleProvider" type="System.Web.Security.SqlRoleProvider" connectionStringName="constr" /> </providers> </roleManager> --> This worked, but obviously prevents role authentication working on the root website, which is okay for the next 2 or 3 releases. Anyone know the correct code for the rolemanager in DotNetStorefront?

    The docs for django.core.files.File imply I can do this: print File(open(path)).url but the File object has no attribute 'url' However, django.db.models.fields.files.FieldFile extends File and does have all the attributes described in the docs for File, but I can't create one without giving it a model field. All I want it something that does what the docs for django.core.files.File (link above) say it does, take a python file and give it attributes like 'url' and 'path' and 'name', can anyone help?     I'm using Python 2.6 on a Mac Mini with 1GB RAM. I want to read in a huge text file $ ls -l links.csv; file links.csv; tail links.csv -rw-r--r-- 1 user user 469904280 30 Nov 22:42 links.csv links.csv: ASCII text, with CRLF line terminators 4757187,59883 4757187,99822 4757187,66546 4757187,638452 4757187,4627959 4757187,312826 4757187,6143 4757187,6141 4757187,3081726 4757187,58197 So each line in the file consists of a tuple of two comma separated integer values. I want to read in the whole file and sort it according to the second column. I know, that I could do the sorting without reading the whole file into memory. But I thought for a file of 500MB I should still be able to do it in memory since I have 1GB available. However when I try to read in the file, Python seems to allocate a lot more memory than is needed by the file on disk. So even with 1GB of RAM I'm not able to read in the 500MB file into memory.   • How to create a folder under %allusersprofile% during Setup with VS 2003 Setup Project?

    I need to create a folder under "%allusersprofile%/Program Data" during the install process. The Setup file is created with VS 2003 setup project, and in it you can use several Known Folders... but as I see none maps to %allusersprofile% or "%allusersprofile%/Program Data". I thought that creating a "Custom Folder" (within VS Setup Project) and setting the TargetLocation as %allusersprofile% it would work, but during install it says that I don't have permission to that folder (and I do have). Do you know how to target that folder in VS Setup Project? Also... I'm working in Windows XP, so %allusersprofile% maps to "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users", but there I suppose I should create my folder inside the "Program Data" folder. In Vista, %allusersprofile% maps to "C:\ProgramData" and it look correct if I create my folder directly there. Any idea how to target both OSs? Additional info: I'm trying this to avoid the new security features in Vista, where the app can't write files under the Program Files folder when running as a common user at least. So I need to place the writable files on "common" folder that is not in a "per user" basis.

I've read like 20 pages about this and they all tell me to use svndumpfilter but I can't seem to make it work.   • Resolve sibling folder in JavaScript Function

    Hi, I am trying to pass into an JavaScript function two paths for an XML and XSLT. It would appear that in the sample HTML below that the use of "../xsl/filename" does not work for me in the xslt() function. If I specify the path as being "./filename" though this does work. Does anyone know how I can work around this or find some way that I can specify a sibling folder without an absolute path reference? I would prefer not to have to change my file paths as my development environment is set up with the xslt's, sample data and source code structured in a particular way.   • What is a simple way to get ACID transactions with persistence on the local file system (in Java)?

    I'm working on a small (java) project where a website needs to maintain a (preferably comma-separated) list of registered e-mail addresses, nothing else, and be able to check if an address is in the list. I have no control over the hosting or the server's lack of database support. Prevayler seemed a good solution, but the website is a ghost town, with example code missing from just about everywhere it's supposed to be, so I'm a little wary. What other options are recommended for such a task?

  • Updating a DLL in a Production ASP.NET Web Site bin folder

    I want to update a class library (a single DLL file) in a production web application. This web app is pre-compiled (published). I read an answer on StackOverflow (sorry, can't seem to find it anymore because the Search function does not work very well), that led me to believe that I could just paste the new DLL in the bin folder and it would be picked up without problems (this would cause the WP to recycle, which is fine with me because we do not use InProc session state). However, when I tried this, my site blows up and gives a FileLoadException saying that the assembly manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. What in the world is this?! Updating the DLL in Visual Studio and re-deploying the entire site works just fine, but it is a huge pain in the rear. What is the point of having a separate DLL if you have to re-deploy the entire site to implement any changes? Here's the question: How can I update a DLL on a production web site without breaking the app and without re-deploying all of the files?

  • Downloading jQuery UI: Ok, so what part of this mess do I copy to the server?

    From the "should be simple, but..." files: Trying to get started with jQuery UI. Went to the site, used their custom builder thingy to assemble the parts I need, made myself a custom theme using the Theme Roller, downloaded the zip file thus produced, unzipped it on my local drive. Ok, so I have 37 folders, 311 files, and a total of 2.4 MB. Ain't no way in hell all this is going on the server. What parts do I need to put there? 'css' 'custom-theme': jquery-ui-1.8.custom.css, 'images' subfolder with 12 .png images 'development-bundle' 'demos': demos.css, index.html, plus 18 subfolders, but I'm guessing "not needed" 'docs': 17 .html files, but again, I'm guessing "not needed" 'external': 4 .js files, one .css 'themes': 'base' and 'custom-theme' subfolders, each with 8 or 9 .css files and an 'images' subfolder with about a dozen images 'ui': 25 .js files, an 'i18n' subfolder with 53 .js files, and a 'minified' subfolder with 24 .js files 'js': jquery-1.4.2.min.js and jquery-ui-1.8.custom.min.js Also, the file structure. Our server is set up something like this: root admin (administrative tools) css forms (the gist of the site lives here) images include (asp code snippets that are used by multiple pages) js (just a few things right now, like an ancient wheezing spelling checker) As far as I can tell, the jQuery css files assume that (1) each theme is in its own folder, and (2) each folder has its own images subfolder. How can I convince it otherwise? i.e. put the necessary .js files in the 'js' folder, the .css files in the 'css' folder, and the images in the 'images' folder?

    Is there any java libraries that is similar to unix's command file? ie: $ file somepicture.png somepicture.png PNG image, 805 x 292, 8-bit/color RGB, non-interlaced The file command is such a nice tool. I need something that can tell me if the file is really what I want it to be. (ie a picture, document etc) I know I can run the command file, but I am looking for a java library, not running the actual unix command.
