• .htaccess configuration issue

  Hi, i am using two website on one domain like: www.example.com & www.example.com/site2, i want to know that on my site2, in my site2 their are 2 folders name folder1 and folder2 my index.php is in folder2 but the defination of methods defined in folder2 i am including the files through .htaccess but i am unable to get those files which are in folder1 and getting Error-500 and 400 on browser and i am using following lines but they are not working in .htaccess file The line below works fine RedirectMatch ^/$ http://www.example.com.pk/site2/views/ AllowOverride All php_value include_path ".:/home/example/public_html/site2/system" waiting for your quick response. • Abstract Forms using WinForms

  I’m trying to achieve a similar affect in a WinForms application as a master form does with ASP.NET. My initial thoughts on this were to create a base form and declare it as abstract, but the compiler doesn’t seem to let me do this. public abstract partial class Master : Form { public Master() { InitializeComponent(); } } So I have two questions: Why will the compiler not let me do this? Am I using the wrong syntax or is this a genuine restriction. Can anyone suggest a workaround or better way to do this? • PostgreSQL 9: Does Vacuuming a table on the primary replicate on the mirror?

  Running PostgreSQL 9.0.1, with streaming replication keeping one read-only mirror instance up to date. Auto-vaccuum is on on the primary, except for a few tables which are not vacuumed by the auto-vacuum daemon, in an effort to reduce business-hour IO. These tables are "materialised views". Each night at midnight, we run a vacuum across the database in order to clean up those tables that are excluded from the auto-vacuum. I'm wondering if that process replicates across to the mirror, or if I need to set up vacuum on the mirror as well?

• rails ajax redirect

  Here is my use case I have a search model with two actions search_set and search_show. 1 - A user loads the home page which contains a search_form, rendered via a partial (search_form). 2 - User does a search, and the request goes to search_set, the search is saved and a redirect happens to search_show page which again renders the search_form with the saved search preferences. This search form is different than the one if step1, because it's a remote form being submitted to the same action (search set) 3 - Now the user does another search, and the search form is submitted via ajax to the search_set action. The search is saved and executed and now I need to present the result via rjs templates (corresponding to search_show). I am told that if the request is xhr then I can't redirect to the search_show action? Is that right? If yes, how do I handle this? Here is my controller class http://pastie.org/993460 Thanks

• Hyperlinks to download files without stopping the current page load

  I've got an ASP.NET page that takes a long time to download and returns partial results as it's loading (as per my previous question). On the page I have some links to download files, ie. the response headers contain "Content-Disposition: attachment", so that the browser doesn't navigate away from the page. However, if the user clicks one of these links while the page is still loading it stops loading - normal behaviour, but not what I want in this case. I can get around that by adding target=_"blank" to the links, but this momentarily opens a new window and the closes it again (once the browser realises it's an "attachment"). Is there any way to avoid having those links stop the current page load without this new window trick? JavaScript is OK.

• IoC from start to finish

  I'm quite sure that IoC is the way to go for my application. There are a ton of articles and even questions here on SO that discuss the different containers. I've read several blogs today with partial examples. I am personally leaning towards starting with the CommonServiceLocator and Unity as two way to solve the same problem -- I just need a bunch of assemblies to get data from a database, which I assume is what needs to be injected everywhere. I've yet to find any sites that really take a problem from beginning to end, with concrete code examples. For example, I've yet to find one that discusses an IServiceLocator and how to actually register it (or do whatever is required to make it known). What are your favorite posts / articles / SO questions that can take a noob from start to finish with the implementation?

• SharePoint Web Analytics not tracking usage for main application

  My SP 2010 setup is two separate applications - one for the main portal and one for MySite. Whilst WebAnalytics is tracking usage of MySite it's not showing any stats for the main Portal. The only thing it lists is the number of site collections but no page views etc. The WA service is clearly running to pick up data for MySite. In Configure web analytics and health data collection everything is ticked. I can't find any obvious settings that are different between the two applications. Where should I look to get usage tracking correctly?

• Which is generally considered faster or best practice: symlinks or Apache aliases?

  I'm curious as to what most people's views are on this subject. Personally, I will almost always prefer symlinks unless I have no other option -- I find that it is far more obvious when someone is navigating the file system, but, on the other hand aliasing is more platform independent. Windows XP, for example, doesn't have anything remotely comparable to symlinks (NTFS junctions are not interpreted correctly by at least some environments), which means that anything which relies on symlinks in a *nix based system cannot be transferred. (I know that Windows 64x OS's have symlinks, but I've not seen if they can be read correctly by the environments previously mentioned) In addition to this, I was also wondering which is considered faster. Is this even possible to know? Do you have a conjecture? I would imagine that since symlinks are generally more low-level than Apache it would make sense that they would be referenced faster, but, on the other hand, I would guess that Apache is required to do a lookup in either case so it would be disk read dependent.

• Page doesn't un-cache itself in ASP.NET C#

  Hi, I sometimes find that I need to press CTRL+REFRESH BUTTON (or simply REFRESH BUTTON) in order for pages to be updated. I thought this may have been a problem with using AJAX Update Panel and things, but it also happens on pages where there is no AJAX partial rendering. I have also removed if(!isPostBack), and yet still I need to refresh the page for the contents to be updated. Is it to do with the cache? Does anyone know of a fix for this? I believe it only happens with IE 7 (which I am using). I tried the same feature with Chrome, and it worked as it is supposed to.

  Maybe it's been a long day but I'm having trouble persisting a collection backed by the ASP.NET ViewState in a CompositeControl. I think I'm just having a blonde moment. Anyone fancy helping out?

  I have a VPS which is my public web server for all my clients. It's running server 2008 and I would like to have it connect via secure connection to my internal LAN. I would like this to be a route so access is bi-derectional. Have read about Server & Domain isolation, but am concerned this may prevent public views to the webs sites on the server. I currently have a PPTP tunnel, but I'm wanting better security (IPSec or SSL etc) and it's not given my bi derectional access. (In fact my backups aren't copying accross but this could be an acl issue) The goal is to provide easy/automated backups of data & sql db's to my internal LAN, as well as a means to provision new sites & db's from a workflow occuring internally. Internal lan is windows based with ISA 2006 at the perimeter. Thanks

• Scripting window positioning in OS X

  My primary computing setup is a macbook pro with a large external monitor. I'm looking for a convenient way of moving a number of the windows of open programs from the laptop screen to the external monitor when I plug it in. I've seen a few partial scripts for accomplishing this, but nothing comprehensive. Ideally I'd like to specify the laptop screen location and external monitor location for each window and be able to toggle between them. Is anyone aware of any existing utility or Applscripts that can perform this?

  I'm serving ads using OpenX within Rails. To correctly use the OpenX full page invocation you need to set Oa_zones[] array, otherwise all available ads are requested (but will never be used). These are the necessary pieces: Build an array of zones. Ideally zones could be added in any partial, so working with this array needs to be accessible throughout the view. Output full page invocation link ie. delivery/spcjs.php?id=1&block=1 Output zones The problem is, the full page invocation script can't be loaded until the zone array is built (and instantiated in JavaScript). At the same time, the zone array can't be built until the entire view has been rendered.

  I am currentlly trying to design a RESTful MembershipsController. The controller action update is used only for promoting, banning, approving,... members. To invoke the update action the URL must contain a Parameter called type with the appropriate value. I am not too sure if that is really RESTful design.   Hello, I have a Table Machines that made of: ID = Identity , Primary , AutoIncrement,NOT NULL SN = Unique , String , NOT NULL Name =String now I am using a form to insert data into this table, and I am using BindingSource and ErrorProvider, I am handling Null and Empty string in the DataSet layer (partial class in the dataset.xsd), now when I try to end editing this.machinesBindingSource.EndEdit(); I got this error message: ex.Message = "Column 'SN' is constrained to be unique. Value '123' is already present." I know I entered a duplicated value but the question is HOW can I determine which the columnName that cause the error and re-write the error message entirely in different language I want to get the columnName and the wrong value thanks in advance

• ASP.NET 1.0 site error after upgrade to VS.NET 2010

  Help. I installed VS.NET 2010 and now my existing ASP.NET MVC application won't run. I checked that the 1.0 version of System.Web.Mvc is still referenced but when I browse my application, I get an error like this: "Compiler Error Message: CS1579: foreach statement cannot operate on variables of type 'object' because 'object' does not contain a public definition for 'GetEnumerator'". My partial view has this declaration: <%@ Control Language="C#" Inherits="System.Web.Mvc.ViewUserControl<List<ProductModel" %> //various import statements <div <% foreach (var category in Model.Categories) { % <span<%= category.Name %</span <span<%= category.Market%</span <% } % </div For what it's worth, the source view shows ViewUserControl in red and gives a tool tip reading "Cannot resolve symbol 'ViewUserControl'". My working code didn't change, the only delta is that I upgraded to VS.NET 2010 (which includes MVC 2.0); I'm sure something is not referenced correctly but I cannot figure out what's going on.

• hudson/jenkins: help needed to get started with customization work

  I'm would to customize jenkins by adding links to the left hand side panel and use the pages associated with these links to serve some custom content in place of the jobs/views table displayed by default. I managed to add links to the side-bar using the sidebar-links plugin. Now I'm trying to see how to replace the content of the <td id="main-panel"> element with some custom content. The custom content is generated by some PHP scripts which ideally should be called by hudson every time the custom pages are requested, though if too complicated I can either create static content to be served by jenkins by calling my PHP scripts in a crontab or see if calls to the PHP scripts can be done by apache itself before the page requests are sent to jenkins. I'm not sure writing a plugin is the best way to proceed and I would like to have your thoughts as to how you think I should implement this.

• How do you implement paging in ASP.NET MVC?

  Currently, I'm using a strategy found on many blog posts. Basically, the URL contains the page number (e.g. /Users/List/5 will give you the users on page 5 of your paged list of users). However, I'm not running into a situation where one page must list two separate paged lists. How do I go about doing this using ASP.NET MVC? Do I simply provide two url parameters (e.g. /Users/List?page1=1&page2=2)? Is there a better way by using partial views?

  I have been developing in classic ASP for about 2.5 years and I am trying to update my skill set to include ASP.NET MVC. What is the MVC way of executing SSIs? IE: How can I include a database drawn navigation list in a sidebar? I have been looking into partial views, but they seem to get their content from the controller. As far as I can tell this means that I would need to write each controller to pass the navigation list. Am I thinking along the right lines?

• What's the simplest way to create a Zend_Form tabular display with each row having a radio button?

  I've seen simple examples of rendering a Zend_Form using decorators, but I'm not sure they are able to handle the issue I'm facing very well. I query the database and get an array of user objects. I want to display these users as a form, with a radio button next to each of them and a submit button at the bottom of the page.   How to change just the layout (template) of the CreateUserWizard control programmatically? I would to define another layout (not using the horrid table) but continue to use all the event handling and the creation of the user of the CreateUserWizard control. Just for reference, the following code doesn't work, and produces an unexpected result not representing my Template at all. • .net Studio Local Database

  Hello everyone, i am designing a local database in .net with wpf as gui. I have added a new database, and added a new table. Through the TableAdapter i generated 2 statements ( 1 statement is a select stmt and 1 is a insert) , i insert name and firstname (id is auto generated).
