• Manage widgets from page edit screen

  Hi there. I'm looking to find a way to integrate the widget control area into the page edit screen. For the site I'm making it would be perfect with the same drag and drop functionality. I want a list of the available widgets that I can drag and drop into the page widget area. The widgets will then only be shown on that particular page. I've looked through the wp-admin/widgets.php file and tried to use some code from there. I even tried just including widgets.php at the end of the post.php (which is basically what I want, but of course gave me funny results). Please don't suggest plug-ins like Widget Context or Widget Logic. Those are my fallback if I cant do this :) So I would like ideas and/or input on how to accomplish this. Preferably I'd like to do it in the functions.php file, or in a plug-in.

  Hello everyone, Seems there is an abundance of popular declarative-style authorization plugins, which allow you to somehow state in the code that, e.g., this controller action can be accessed by users with such-and-such roles. But what if I need a more dynamic scheme. I want to have an admin area, with a list of all authorizable actions and an ability to assign permissions on actions from the UI. I have ideas how to implement it from scratch, like to define a model corresponding to a controller and/or action and store the permissions via normal associations.   Can someone help me render a form and table on the same page? I'm sure it's easy, but can't think of how to do it.   So I managed to setup pods and create my custom tables. Now I want to revamp my theme so that it pulls data from the POD table. Doesn't seem to be working... This is what I did.. I have a Pod called 'project_type' with a name (string) and a code (string) field. Have also added 3 entries via the admin system. I made a copy of the default wordpress plugin and renamed it to myTheme and activated it. Inside index.php of myTheme, I removed all the default code.. and have just the POD specific code as shown below. <?php echo "Hello World"; $p = new Pod('project_type'); echo $p->getTotalRows(); ?> However, when I reload my page, only Hello World shows up? A bit new to Wordpress so kindly advice.

  Hey guys, quick question, I have this query, and I am trying to get the latest comment for each topic and then sort those results in descending order (therefore one comment per topic). I have what I think should work, but my join always messes my results up. Somehow, it seems to have sorted the end results properly, but has not taken the latest comment from each topic instead it seems to have just taken a random comment. I have tried initializing a variable in the index method of the books controller but get exactly the same results. Thanks in advance! BTW had to make the links text because of stackoverflow limit.

In addition, it would be nice to have tools that enable us to flush and fill the cache at intervals or by admin intervention. • Sitemap Links don't work on live site, Windows Authentication

  I have a intranet site with Windows Authentication. I have 'Administrator' pages in an 'Administrator' folder that will only show for those in the admin group (windows security group) These pages work I have a folder with sub folders containing reports. These permissions are broken down for each type of report. They have similar role priveleges. When I test the application, I can navigate to the pages. When I deploy the site live on the intranet the links don't return a page. Error missing link 404. Do I need to set something in IIS?

• Codeigniter deny access to directory of controllers with apache config

  I’d like to restrict access to a folder of controllers that are used for admin purposes only. I’ve tried a number of ways and not coming up with a solution. These controllers are behind password protection. But, I’d like to just remove it from view if someone happens to stumble upon the right directory. Can this be done? I’d rather not do it from htaccess. I have access to the apache config files, so I’d like to handle it there. Does it have anything to do with the way Codeigniter routes? Or, am I just way off? • Slow first page load on asp.net site

  Hi, Every now and then (always after a long period of idle-time, e.g. overnight) when I access a site built using asp.net - it takes around 15 seconds to load the page (15 seconds before I see any progress whatsoever, then the page comes up fast). Further pages on that site, or refreshes, are quick as usual - they are also fast on other machines, only the first one seems to take the 'hit'. Page tracing never through anything up (whole cycle was a fraction of a second) So my question is where else should I be looking? Perhaps IIS? Or could it still be my asp.net app and I'm just looking in the wrong place (the trace) for clues? As I don't have much control over the IIS server, anything I can check through asp.net would be more helpful, before I go ask that particular admin. cheers :D

• What is the best way pre filter user access for sqlalchemy queries?

  I have been looking at the sqlalchemy recipes on their wiki, but don't know which one is best to implement what I am trying to do. Every row on in my tables have an user_id associated with it. Right now, for every query, I queried by the id of the user that's currently logged in, then query by the criteria I am interested in. My concern is that the developers might forget to add this filter to the query (a huge security risk). Therefore, I would like to set a global filter based on the current user's admin rights to filter what the logged in user could see. Appreciate your help. Thanks.

Redirect to below: https://blogurl.com/content/news/2014-08-19/post-3451/mt-preview-33e2742af1eb.php I basically want to insert /content/ after https://blogurl.com and so far I have rewrite ^(.*)$ /content/ break; But my issue is my CMS sits on the same directory level https://blogurl.com/mt/admin and if I simply apply the rewrite above my CMS address would move too. How could I prevent this.

Any ideas?

  I'm currently using the magento admin interface, trying to upload an image in the "manage products" and I get the error "file was not uploaded" after I browse the file and click "upload file". I've looked on other forums and the main solution I saw were to make sure that php.ini has the following lines... magic_quotes_gpc = off short_open_tag = on extension=pdo.so extension=pdo_mysql.so I have Windows/IIS with ISAPI_Rewrite. Is there a max file upload size that I can change somewhere. I'm uploading pictures from my local desktop of size ~100kb. help!

• What action is my Symfony/Doctrine generated form actually going to?

  In my Symfony 1.4 project I am using the doctrine:generate-admin task to create the modules that compose my backend system. One such module is "journeys". When I view the source of the "journeys/new" page (which displays the form to create a new journey entity) the action of the form is simply "journeys" (I expected it to be "journeys/create"). The "journeys" route on its own would call the executeIndex method - however I put a log call in there and upon form submission, the log is not made. So this leads me to believe that executeIndex is NOT being called, and another piece of code is being fired upon form submission that then (depending on a hidden input in the form) calls either executeCreate() or executeUpdate(). Problem is, I don't know where that would be happening. Any insight would be much appreciated.
