  • Modifying a SharePoint Site Template's manifest.xml

    I am trying to manually code some changes into my SharePoint Site Template. I can get the stp/cab file open and have added a new Element to the manifest.xml file, but when I repackage the stp and load it onto the server - the new site that I create using the updated .stp does not reflect the new link that I have added to the manifest.xml I realize this isn't the proper way to add a link to the sidebar but am interested to make it work this way, for other reasons.

  • Simple question about MKMapView and the iPhone

    Basically I want to show the users location plus a list of selected location on a map. It can even have the standard iphone annotations. But, I have no idea of the general steps I would take to achieve this. Would I use MKMapView, or Core Location, or both?     I have loaded my database with one table under "Data Connections" in the "Server Explorer" pane. What is the standard / best-practices way to handle a simple query in a VB ASPX page? My left <div> would be a set of form elements to filter rows, and when the button is clicked, the main <div> would show the columns I want for the rows returned.     Hello, Im astonished. Im trying this simple calculation in a Java application: System.out.println("b=" + (1 - 7/10)); Obviously Im wainting for "b=0.3" in the output but here's what I get: b=1 What?! Why this happens? If I make: System.out.println("b=" + (1-0.7)); I get the right result which is "b=0.3". What's going wrong here? Thanks!

    Hi, I am trying to figure out certain memory leak conditions in javascript on a few browsers. Currently I'm only testing FF 3.6, Opera 10.10, and Safari 4.0.3. I've started with a fairly simple test, and can confirm no memory leaks in Firefox and Safari. But Opera just takes memory and never gives it back. What gives? No luck. As you can see this is simple JS, no circular DOM links, no closures. I monitor the memory usage using 'top' on Mac 10.4.11. Memory usage spikes up on page load, as expected. In FF and Safari reloading the page does not use any further memory, and all memory is returned when the window (tab) is closed. In Opera, memory spikes on load, and seems to also spike further on each reload (but not always...). But regardless of reload, memory never goes back down below the initial load spike. I had hoped this was a no-brainer test that all browsers would pass, so I could move on to more "interesting" conditions. Am I doing something wrong here? Or is this a known Opera issue? I'm a developer so I know how to do this in frameworks like ASP.Net MVC and grails.     What would you suggest as a good and practical but simple pattern for a soloution with: HTML + JSP (as a view/presentation) SERVLETS (controller, request, session-handling) EJB (persistence, businesslogic) MySQL DB And is it necessary to use an own layer of DAO for persistence? I use JPA to persist objects to my DB. Should I withdraw business logic from my EJB? Sources online all tell me different things and confuses me...
