  • Apache2 - mod_rewrite : RequestHeader and environment variables

    - by Guillaume
I try to get the value of the request parameter "authorization" and to store it in the header "Authorization" of the request. The first rewrite rule works fine. In the second rewrite rule the value of $2 does not seem to be stored in the environement variable. As a consequence the request header "Authorization" is empty. Any idea ? Thanks. <VirtualHost *:8010> RewriteLog "/var/apache2/logs/rewrite.log" RewriteLogLevel 9 RewriteEngine On RewriteRule ^/(.*)&authorization=@(.*)@(.*) http://<ip>:<port>/$1&authorization=@$2@$3 [L,P] RewriteRule ^/(.*)&authorization=@(.*)@(.*) - [E=AUTHORIZATION:$2,NE] RequestHeader add "Authorization" "%{AUTHORIZATION}e" </VirtualHost> I need to handle several cases because sometimes parameters are in the path and sometines they are in the query. • Postgresql base backup script

    - by Terry Lorber
I'm using the following script to do a file-level backup of Postgresql. I sometimes see that the last part, to do cleanup after "pgs_backup_stop" is called, hangs while it waits for the last WAL to be created. The REF_FILE to search for is sometimes wrong. I'm also shipping these files to a different machine, every 5 minutes via rsync. What do other people do to safely remove old WAL files? #!/bin/bash PGDATA=/usr/local/pgsql/data WAL_ARCHIVE=/usr/local/pgsql/archives PGBACKUP=/usr/local/pgsqlbackup PSQL=/usr/local/pgsql/bin/psql today=`date +%Y%m%d-%H%M%S` label=base_backup_${today} echo "Executing pg_start_backup with label $label in server ... • When running PowerShell script as a scheduled task some Exchange 2010 database properties are null

    - by barophobia
Hello, I've written a script that intends to retrieve the DatabaseSize of a database from Exchange 2010. I created a new AD user for this script to run under as a scheduled task. I gave this user admin rights to the Exchange Organization (as a last resort during my testing) and local admin rights on the Exchange machine. When I run this script manually by starting powershell (with runas /noprofile /user:domain\user powershell) everything works fine. All the database properties are available. When I run the script as a scheduled task a lot of the properties are null including the one I want: DatabaseSize. I've also tried running the script as the domain admin account with the same results. There must be something different in the two contexts but I can't figure out what it is. My script: Add-PSSnapin Microsoft.Exchange.Management.PowerShell.E2010 Write-EventLog 'Windows PowerShell' -source PowerShell -eventid 100 -message "Starting script" $databases = get-mailboxdatabase -status if($databases -ne $null) { Write-EventLog 'Windows PowerShell' -source PowerShell -eventid 100 -message "Object created" $databasesize_text = $databases.databasesize.tomb().tostring() if($databasesize_text -ne $null) { $output = "echo "+$databasesize_text+":ok" Write-EventLog 'Windows PowerShell' -source PowerShell -eventid 100 -message "Path check" if(test-path "\\mon-01\prtgsensors\EXE\") { Write-EventLog 'Windows PowerShell' -source PowerShell -eventid 100 -message "Path valid" Set-Content \\mon-01\prtgsensors\EXE\ex-05_db_size.bat -value $output } Write-EventLog 'Windows PowerShell' -source PowerShell -eventid 100 -message "Exiting program" } else { Write-EventLog 'Windows PowerShell' -source PowerShell -eventid 100 -message "databasesize_text is empty. nothing to do" } } else { Write-EventLog 'Windows PowerShell' -source PowerShell -eventid 100 -message "object not created. nothing to do" } exit 0

  • In GNU Screen, Recalled bash history command displays one character position to the left of actual location

    - by vergueishon
I am running Red Hat 5 32-bit (2.6.18-194.26.1.el5). The issue is that when I recall any previous command in bash's history, the first character in the command is displayed immediately after the shell prompt, without any intervening space, likeso: \[me@mymachine tmp]$man mysql If I enter a Ctrl-C, and retype the command, it looks likeso: \[me@mymachine tmp]$ man mysql This makes recalling a command and editing it before re-entering a real pain. Basically, if I try to edit a recalled command, my changes occur one character position to the left (I believe) of what I see on the screen. It's a bit tedious to describe, and appears to only happen with commands with a large number of arguments. UPDATE: The contents of /etc/sysconfig/bash-prompt-screen, 1 #!/bin/bash 2 echo -n $'\033'"_${USER}@${HOSTNAME%%.*}:${PWD/#$HOME/~}"$'\033\\\\' and the contents of /etc/bashrc, 24 screen) 25 if [ -e /etc/sysconfig/bash-prompt-screen ]; then 26 PROMPT_COMMAND=/etc/sysconfig/bash-prompt-screen 27 else 28 PROMPT_COMMAND='echo -ne "\033_${USER}@${HOSTNAME%%.*}:${PWD/#$HOME/~}"; echo -ne "\033\\"' 29 fi 30 ;; I've disable bash-prompt-screen by renaming it--this fixed it. It's entirely possible that there is a fix to the bash-prompt-screen prompt line in the latest version of screen for RHEL 5. The error is seen under Screen version 4.00.03 (FAU) 23-Oct-06. (I noticed an update in the queue, which is installing as I write this.)

  • F5 BIG_IP persistence iRules applied but not affecting selected member

    - by zoli
I have a virtual server. I have 2 iRules (see below) assigned to it as resources. From the server log it looks like that the rules are running and they select the correct member from the pool after persisting the session (as far as I can tell based on my log messages), but the requests are ultimately directed to somewhere else. Here's how both rules look like: when HTTP_RESPONSE { set sessionId [HTTP::header X-SessionId] if {$sessionId ne ""} { persist add uie $sessionId 3600 log local0.debug "Session persisted: <$sessionId> to <[persist lookup uie $sessionId]>" } } when HTTP_REQUEST { set sessionId [findstr [HTTP::path] "/session/" 9 /] if {$sessionId ne ""} { persist uie $sessionId set persistValue [persist lookup uie $sessionId] log local0.debug "Found persistence key <$sessionId> : <$persistValue>" } } According to the log messages from the rules, the proper balancer members are selected. Note: the two rules can not conflict, they are looking for different things in the path. Those two things never appear in the same path. Notes about the server: * The default load balancing method is RR. * There is no persistence profile assigned to the virtual server. I'm wondering if this should be adequate to enable the persistence, or alternatively, do I have to combine the 2 rules and create a persistence profile with them for the virtual server? Or is there something else that I have missed?

  • Clicking far away in vim in tmux in urxvt

    - by paps
I use vim inside tmux inside urxvt, and the mouse works perfectly well for clicking and selecting text, except when I want to click too far to the right. It seems to be related to the distance in number of columns from the left. When I go beyond column ~200 (not sure about the exact number), clicking simply does nothing. Note that it's not related to a vim window: with two vim windows taking ~150 columns each, clicking will not work after the ~50th column in the second window. It's related to the whole vim session. Also note that clicking far away in a big tmux pane (200 columns) works perfectly. In my .tmux.conf I have this line: set -g default-terminal "screen-256color" and in my .vimrc I have this: if &term =~ "^screen" autocmd VimEnter * silent !echo -ne "\033Ptmux;\033\033]12;7\007\033\\" let &t_SI = "\<Esc>Ptmux;\<Esc>\<Esc>]12;5\x7\<Esc>\\" let &t_EI = "\<Esc>Ptmux;\<Esc>\<Esc>]12;7\x7\<Esc>\\" autocmd VimLeave * silent !echo -ne "\033Ptmux;\033\033]12;14\007\033\\" end It changes the cursor's color depending on the editing mode of vim, and it works, meaning that tmux really sets $TERM to "screen-256color" — but I don't know if this has any relevance with my mouse problem. I'm running Ubuntu 12.04, vim 7.3, tmux 1.6 and rxvt-unicode 9.14. Does anybody have an idea about what is causing this problem? Thanks.

  • Using sed to Download ComboFix automatically

    - by user901398
I'm trying to write a shell script to grab the dynamic URL which ComboFix is located at at BleepingComputer.com/download/combofix However, for some reason I can't seem to get my regex to match the download link of the "click here" if the download doesn't work. I used a regex tester and it said I matched the link, but I can't seem to get it to work when I execute it, it turns up an empty result. Here's my entire script: #!/bin/bash # Download latest ComboFix from BleepingComputer wget -O Listing.html "http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/combofix/" -nv downloadpage=$(sed -ne 's@^.*<a href="\(http://www[.]bleepingcomputer[.]com/download/combofix/dl/[0-9]\+/\)" class="goodurl">.*$@\1@p' Listing.html) echo "DL Page: $downloadpage" secondpage="$downloadpage" wget -O Download.html $secondpage -nv file=$(sed -ne 's@^.*<a href="\(http://download[.]bleepingcomputer[.]com/dl/[0-9A-Fa-f]\+/[0-9A-Fa-f]\+/windows/security/anti[-]virus/c/combofix/ComboFix[.]exe\)">.*$@\1@p' Download.html) echo "File: $file" wget -O "ComboFix.exe" "$file" -nv rm Listing.html rm Download.html mkdir Tools mv "ComboFix.exe" "Tools/ComboFix.exe" -f The first two downloads work successfully, and I end up with: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/combofix/dl/12/ But it fails to match the final sed that will give me the download link. The code it's supposed to match is: <a href="http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/dl/6c497ccbaff8226ec84c97dcdfc3ce9a/5058d931/windows/security/anti-virus/c/combofix/ComboFix.exe">click here</a>

  • Is a "Soft Modem" (i.e. internal) really going to cause incompatibilities?

    - by Farseeker
Thanks to the fact that our banking industry in Australia... outdated (which is the politest word I could think of when describing the banking industry)... to do a certain kind of transaction our bank requires us to use a dialup modem and send serial data to them. When reading through their documentation (last update: 1995), they state that any "Soft Modems" (by which I assume they mean internal modems, as they refer to a AMR socket on a motherboard, which I haven't seen in donkeys years) should not be used because of "possible incompatibilities" Seeing as buying an external, serial-port modem is actually quite expensive these days and I have a whole box of PCI modems taken out of a bunch of Dells I really don't want to have to buy an external modem. Additionally I think their documentation is simply outdated. Has anyone had experience with internal modems causing issues, where an external modem didn't?

  • PASS 13 Dispatches: Memory Optimized = On

    - by Tony Davis
I'm at the PASS Summit in Charlotte for the Day 1 keynote by Quentin Clarke, Corporate VP of the data platform group at Microsoft. He's talking about how SQL Server 2014 is “pushing boundaries” and first up is SQL Server 2014's In-Memory OLTP technology (former codename “hekaton”) It is a feature that provokes a lot of interest and for good reason as, without any need for application rewrites or hardware updates, it can enable us to ensure that an application can find in memory most or all of the data it needs, and can lead to huge improvements in processing times. A good recent hekaton use cases article talks about applications that need a “Shock Absorber” when either spikes or just a high rate of incoming workload (including data in ETL scenarios) become a primary bottleneck. To get a really deep look at this technology, I would check out David DeWitt's summit keynote tomorrow (it will be live streamed). Other than that, to get started I'd recommend Kalen Delaney's whitepaper. She offers a lot of insight into how it works and how to start to define memory-optimized tables, and natively compiled stored procedures. These memory-optimized tables uses completely optimistic multi-version concurrency control – no waiting on locks! After that, Tom LaRock has compiled a useful set of links to drill deeper, and includes one to Microsoft's AMR tool to help you gauge the tables that might benefit most. Tony.

  • "Are You There?".. India Tops Logistics List of Emerging Nations

    - by [email protected]
It's just amazing how far, wide and deep modern supply chains are extending. AMR reported on 15 Apr (M.Burkett, A.Reese) in a SCM webcast that 'Penetrating Emerging Markets" was the top priotiy for organizations based on a recent survey. I took this as both adding new consumers to their prospect-list as well as leveraging 'lower cost labor arbitrage". (Read '3 Billion Capitalists") Supply Chain Quarterly reports that India and Brazil received the highest ranking of the logistics markets in developing nations India tops the list of emerging nations that scores the attractiveness of logistics markets to foreign investors. Developed by the UK-based research firm Transport Intelligence, the new  Emerging Market Logistics Index rated 38 developing countries on 3 factors. 1. "Market size and growth attractiveness," considered a country's economic output, projected growth rate, and population size.  2. "Market compatibility," which examined how well-matched a nation was with the services offered by global logistics providers. This includes a country's security levels, market accessibility, foreign direct investment, distribution of wealth and population, and development of its service sector. 3. "Connectedness," which rated the efficiency of customs and border controls, liner shipping connections, and transportation infrastructure. India claimed the top spot due to its market size and growth prospects. Brazil is second because of its economic performance, good levels of market accessibility, and improving domestic and international transport connections. Are you there?
