  • PayPal IPN - having trouble accessing session data?

    - by Martin Bean
    Hello, all. I'm having issues with PayPal IPN integration where it seems I cannot get my solution to read session variables. Basically, in my shop module script, I store the customer's details as provided by PayPal to an orders table. However, I also wish to save products ordered in a transaction to a separate table linked by the order ID. However, it's the second part of the script that's not working, where I loop through the products in the session and then save them to the orders_products table. Is there a reason why the session data not being read? The code within shop.php is as follows: if ($paypal->validate_ipn()) { $name = $paypal->ipn_data['address_name']; $street_1 = $paypal->ipn_data['address_street']; $street_2 = ""; $city = $paypal->ipn_data['address_city']; $state = $paypal->ipn_data['address_state']; $zip = $paypal->ipn_data['address_zip']; $country = $paypal->ipn_data['address_country']; $txn_id = $paypal->ipn_data['txn_id']; $sql = "INSERT INTO orders (name, street_1, street_2, city, state, zip, country, txn_id) VALUES (:name, :street_1, :street_2, :city, :state, :zip, :country, :txn_id)"; $smt = $this->pdo->prepare($sql); $smt->bindParam(':name', $name, PDO::PARAM_STR); $smt->bindParam(':street_1', $street_1, PDO::PARAM_STR); $smt->bindParam(':street_2', $street_2, PDO::PARAM_STR); $smt->bindParam(':city', $city, PDO::PARAM_STR); $smt->bindParam(':state', $state, PDO::PARAM_STR); $smt->bindParam(':zip', $zip, PDO::PARAM_STR); $smt->bindParam(':country', $country, PDO::PARAM_STR); $smt->bindParam(':txn_id', $txn_id, PDO::PARAM_INT); $smt->execute(); // save products to orders relationship $order_id = $this->pdo->lastInsertId(); // $cart = $this->session->get('cart'); $cart = $this->session->get('cart'); foreach ($cart as $product_id => $item) { $quantity = $item['quantity']; $sql = "INSERT INTO orders_products (order_id, product_id, quantity) VALUES ('$order_id', '$product_id', '$quantity')"; $res = $this->pdo->query($sql); } $this->session->del('cart'); mail('[email protected]', 'IPN result', 'IPN was successful on wrestling-wear.com'); } else { mail('[email protected]', 'IPN result', 'IPN failed on wrestling-wear.com'); } And I'm using the PayPal IPN class for PHP as found here: http://www.micahcarrick.com/04-19-2005/php-paypal-ipn-integration-class.html, but the contents of the validate_ipn() method is as follows: public function validate_ipn() { $url_parsed = parse_url($this->paypal_url); $post_string = ''; foreach ($_POST as $field => $value) { $this->ipn_data[$field] = $value; $post_string.= $field.'='.urlencode(stripslashes($value)).'&'; } $post_string.= "cmd=_notify-validate"; // append IPN command // open the connection to PayPal $fp = fsockopen($url_parsed[host], "80", $err_num, $err_str, 30); if (!$fp) { // could not open the connection. If logging is on, the error message will be in the log $this->last_error = "fsockopen error no. $errnum: $errstr"; $this->log_ipn_results(false); return false; } else { // post the data back to PayPal fputs($fp, "POST $url_parsed[path] HTTP/1.1\r\n"); fputs($fp, "Host: $url_parsed[host]\r\n"); fputs($fp, "Content-type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded\r\n"); fputs($fp, "Content-length: ".strlen($post_string)."\r\n"); fputs($fp, "Connection: close\r\n\r\n"); fputs($fp, $post_string . "\r\n\r\n"); // loop through the response from the server and append to variable while (!feof($fp)) { $this->ipn_response.= fgets($fp, 1024); } fclose($fp); // close connection } if (eregi("VERIFIED", $this->ipn_response)) { // valid IPN transaction $this->log_ipn_results(true); return true; } else { // invalid IPN transaction; check the log for details $this->last_error = 'IPN Validation Failed.'; $this->log_ipn_results(false); return false; } }

  • JQuery text display problem?

    - by SLAPme
    Kind of new to JQuery and I was wondering how can I state that the users submitted info was saved when they click the submit button by displaying the message Changes saved at the top of the form and then have it disappear when the user leaves the web page and return back to it? Right now my code only displays that changes were saved at the bottom of the form outside of the lists and will not disappear when the users leave the web page and return back to it. Here is the JQuery code. $(function() { $(".save-button").click(function() { $.post($("#contact-form").attr("action"), $("#contact-form").serialize(), function(html) { $("div.contact-info-form").html(html); $('#contact-form').append('<li>Changes saved!</li>'); }); return false; // prevent normal submit }); }); Here is the html code. <div id="contact-info-form" class="form-content"> <h2>Contact Information</h2> <form method="post" action="index.php" id="contact-form"> <fieldset> <ul> <li><label for="address">Address 1: </label><input type="text" name="address" id="address" size="25" class="input-size" value="<?php if (isset($_POST['address'])) { echo $_POST['address']; } else if(!empty($address)) { echo $address; } ?>" /></li> <li><label for="address_two">Address 2: </label><input type="text" name="address_two" id="address_two" size="25" class="input-size" value="<?php if (isset($_POST['address_two'])) { echo $_POST['address_two']; } else if(!empty($address_two)) { echo $address_two; } ?>" /></li> <li><label for="city_town">City/Town: </label><input type="text" name="city_town" id="city_town" size="25" class="input-size" value="<?php if (isset($_POST['city_town'])) { echo $_POST['city_town']; } else if(!empty($city_town)) { echo $city_town; } ?>" /></li> <li><label for="state_province">State/Province: </label> <?php echo '<select name="state_province" id="state_province">' . When I pass plain text, it works fine. When I printed $_POST [i.e. used - print_r($_POST) ], I got the following output - Array ( [ad_id] = 15 [name] = Banner [placement] = ad_468x60 [code] = [status] = 1 [banner_uploaded] = 1 [country] = IN [date-from] = [date-to] = [update] = Update Advertisement ) Please be known, I haven't entered the 'date-from','date-to' fields. I have entered on purpose as StackOverflow don't allow me to post images! People,any help will be highly appreciated.

  • ZF2 Vertical Form

    - by yunhasnawa
    I created a simple form in typical ZF2 application. The form class code is just a modified code provided by Zend's Album example. <?php namespace Admin\Form; use Zend\Form\Form; class CityForm extends Form { public function __construct($name = null) { parent::__construct('city'); $this->setAttribute('method', 'post'); $this->add(array( 'name' => 'id', 'attributes' => array( 'type' => 'hidden', ), )); $this->add(array( 'name' => 'name', 'attributes' => array( 'type' => 'text' ), 'options' => array( 'label' => 'Name', ), )); $this->add(array( 'name' => 'province', 'attributes' => array( 'type' => 'text' ), 'options' => array( 'label' => 'Province', ), )); $this->add(array( 'name' => 'country', 'attributes' => array( 'type' => 'text' ), 'options' => array( 'label' => 'Country', ), )); $this->add(array( 'name' => 'coordinate', 'attributes' => array( 'type' => 'text' ), 'options' => array( 'label' => 'Coordinate', ), )); $this->add(array( 'name' => 'submit', 'attributes' => array( 'type' => 'submit', 'value' => 'Save', 'id' => 'submitButton', ), )); } } And call it like this in CityController, a typical controller extends AbstractActionController: public function addAction() { $form = new CityForm(); $viewData = array( 'form' => $form ); return new ViewModel($viewData); } Finally in view I echo it like this: <?php $title = 'Add New City'; ?> <?php $this->headtitle($title); ?> <h1><?php echo $this->escapehtml($title); ?></h1> <?php $form = $this->form; ?> <?php $form->setAttribute('action', $this->url('city', array('action' => 'add'))); ?> <?php $form->prepare(); ?> <?php echo $this->form()->openTag($form); echo $this->formHidden($form->get('id')); echo $this->formRow($form->get('name')); echo $this->formRow($form->get('province')); echo $this->formRow($form->get('country')); echo $this->formRow($form->get('coordinate')); echo $this->formSubmit($form->get('submit')); echo $this->form()->closeTag(); ?> What I expected to see is a vertical form like this: But what i got is an ugly form like this: What's wrong with my code? Please help. EDIT: When I inspect element, the form generated is strange. The <input> element is inside the <label> element. <form id="city" name="city" method="post" action="/karciscus/public/admin/city/add"> <input type="hidden" value="" name="id"> <label> <span>Name</span><input type="text" value="" name="name"> </label> <label> <span>Province</span><input type="text" value="" name="province"> </label> <label> <span>Country</span><input type="text" value="" name="country"> </label> <label> <span> Coordinate</span><input type="text" value="" name="coordinate"> </label> <input type="submit" value="Save" id="submitButton" name="submit"> </form> I'm pretty sure it is the cause of my ugly rendered form. I think it is not supposedly like that. How to fix it?

The left side will have a “browsing pane” where you can search for the stations that you would like to listen to using the various categories. Based on the stations that you choose the background map will change location to match the stations locations. Here is a closer look at the “Categories Bar”. For our first example we used the “Country Category” to find our first station to listen to. When you choose a country you will be presented with a list of the stations available for that country. To start listening to a particular station just double click on the appropriate entry line. A closer look at the “browser pane” with our first station playing. Notice the “Reliability Indicator” that will be available for each listing…some may be better than others and you can use this to choose the best streaming stations from the list. In the upper left corner you will notice three icons…each will open a small pop-up window with a specific purpose. The first icon will open up the “About Window”. If you need to contact Antenna’s creator or would like to place a request for a station to be added to the app then this is the best way to do it. The second icon will open up a Antenna specific chat window. The third icon will allow you to set a default location and make adjustments to some of the app’s settings. Recording Audio The “Recording Function” is the only area where we experienced some “quirkiness” with the app. To start recording press the “Round White Button”… Note: Based on feedback on the app creator’s webpage some people have experienced the same problem as we did during our tests with the app failing to complete the recordings. Hopefully this bug will be fixed with the next release. Once recording has started the button will turn red. Click on the button again to stop recording. Once you have stopped recording you will see the following message window appear and the main window will be shaded over with a whitish color until you click “OK”. Conclusion Regardless of the slight quirkiness in recording online music Antenna more than makes up for it with the terrific selection of online stations and streaming capability. New fresh music for you to listen to is only a click or two away… Links Download Antenna (Antenna Homepage) Download Antenna at Softpedia Download Adobe AIR Similar Articles Productive Geek Tips Listen to Local FM Radio in Windows 7 Media CenterListen to Over 100,000 Radio Stations in Windows Media CenterListen To XM Radio with Windows Media Center in Windows 7Listen and Record Over 12,000 Online Radio Stations with RadioSureWeekend Fun: Watch Television on Your PC with AnyTV TouchFreeze Alternative in AutoHotkey The Icy Undertow Desktop Windows Home Server – Backup to LAN The Clear & Clean Desktop Use This Bookmarklet to Easily Get Albums Use AutoHotkey to Assign a Hotkey to a Specific Window Latest Software Reviews Tinyhacker Random Tips DVDFab 6 Revo Uninstaller Pro Registry Mechanic 9 for Windows PC Tools Internet Security Suite 2010 Will it Blend? iPad Edition Penolo Lets You Share Sketches On Twitter Visit Woolyss.com for Old School Games, Music and Videos Add a Custom Title in IE using Spybot or Spyware Blaster When You Need to Hail a Taxi in NYC Live Map of Marine Traffic

  • SQL SERVER – Understanding XML – Contest Win Joes 2 Pros Combo (USD 198) – Day 5 of 5

    - by pinaldave
    August 2011 we ran a contest where every day we give away one book for an entire month. The contest had extreme success. Lots of people participated and lots of give away. I have received lots of questions if we are doing something similar this month. Absolutely, instead of running a contest a month long we are doing something more interesting. We are giving away USD 198 worth gift every day for this week. We are giving away Joes 2 Pros 5 Volumes (BOOK) SQL 2008 Development Certification Training Kit every day. One copy in India and One in USA. Total 2 of the giveaway (worth USD 198). All the gifts are sponsored from the Koenig Training Solution and Joes 2 Pros. Question of the Day: Is following XML a well formed XML Document? <?xml version=”1.0″?> <address> <firstname>Pinal</firstname> <lastname>Dave</lastname> <title>Founder</title> <company>SQLAuthority.com</company> </address> a) Yes b) No c) I do not know Query Hints: BIG HINT POST A common observation by people seeing an XML file for the first time is that it looks like just a bunch of data inside a text file. XML files are text-based documents, which makes them easy to read.  All of the data is literally spelled out in the document and relies on a just a few characters (<, >, =) to convey relationships and structure of the data.  XML files can be used by any commonly available text editor, like Notepad. Much like a book’s Table of Contents, your first glance at well-formed XML will tell you the subject matter of the data and its general structure. Hints appearing within the data help you to quickly identify the main theme (similar to book’s subject), its headers (similar to chapter titles or sections of a book), data elements (similar to a book’s characters or chief topics), and so forth. We’ll learn to recognize and use the structural “hints,” which are XML’s markup components (e.g., XML tags, root elements). The XML Raw and Auto modes are great for displaying data as all attributes or all elements – but not both at once. If you want your XML stream to have some of its data shown in attributes and some shown as elements, then you can use the XML Path mode. If you are using an XML Path stream, then by default all values will be shown as elements. However, it is possible to pick one or more elements to be shown with an attribute(s) as well. Additional Hints: I have previously discussed various concepts from SQL Server Joes 2 Pros Volume 5. Question of the Day: Which of the following statement is incorrect? a) Identity value can be negative. b) Identity value can have negative interval. c) Identity value can be of datatype VARCHAR d) Identity value can have increment interval larger than 1 Query Hints: BIG HINT POST A simple way to determine if a table contains an identity field is to use the SSMS Object Explorer Design Interface. Navigate to the table, then right-click it and choose Design from the pop-up window. When your design tab opens, select the first field in the table to view its list of properties in the lower pane of the tab (In this case the field is ProductID). Look to see if the Identity Specification property in the lower pane is set to either yes or no. SQL Server will allow you to utilize IDENTITY_INSERT with just one table at a time. Question of the Day: Which of the following key word will force the query to use indexes created on views? a) ENCRYPTION b) SCHEMABINDING c) NOEXPAND d) CHECK OPTION Query Hints: BIG HINT POST Usually, the assumption is that Index on the table will use Index on the table and Index on view will be used by view. However, that is the misconception. It does not happen this way. In fact, if you notice the image, you will find the both of them (table and view) use both the index created on the table. The index created on the view is not used. The reason for the same as listed in BOL. The cost of using the indexed view may exceed the cost of getting the data from the base tables, or the query is so simple that a query against the base tables is fast and easy to find. This often happens when the indexed view is defined on small tables. You can use the NOEXPAND hint if you want to force the query processor to use the indexed view. This may require you to rewrite your query if you don’t initially reference the view explicitly. You can get the actual cost of the query with NOEXPAND and compare it to the actual cost of the query plan that doesn’t reference the view. If they are close, this may give you the confidence that the decision of whether or not to use the indexed view doesn’t matter. Question of the Day: Which of the following queries will return dirty data? a) SELECT * FROM Table1 (READUNCOMMITED) b) SELECT * FROM Table1 (NOLOCK) c) SELECT * FROM Table1 (DIRTYREAD) d) SELECT * FROM Table1 (MYLOCK) Query Hints: BIG HINT POST Most SQL people know what a “Dirty Record” is. You might also call that an “Intermediate record”. In case this is new to you here is a very quick explanation. The simplest way to describe the steps of a transaction is to use an example of updating an existing record into a table. When the insert runs, SQL Server gets the data from storage, such as a hard drive, and loads it into memory and your CPU. The data in memory is changed and then saved to the storage device. Finally, a message is sent confirming the rows that were affected. For a very short period of time the update takes the data and puts it into memory (an intermediate state), not a permanent state. For every data change to a table there is a brief moment where the change is made in the intermediate state, but is not committed. During this time, any other DML statement needing that data waits until the lock is released. This is a safety feature so that SQL Server evaluates only official data. For every data change to a table there is a brief moment where the change is made in this intermediate state, but is not committed. During this time, any other DML statement (SELECT, INSERT, DELETE, UPDATE) needing that data must wait until the lock is released. This is a safety feature put in place so that SQL Server evaluates only official data. Additional Hints: I have previously discussed various concepts from SQL Server Joes 2 Pros Volume 1. • SQL SERVER – Clustered Index and Primary Key – Contest Win Joes 2 Pros Combo (USD 198) – Day 3 of 5

Question of the Day: Which of the following datatype is usually NOT the best choice for Primary Key and Clustered Index? a) INT b) BIGINT c) GUID d) SMALLINT Query Hints: BIG HINT POST The clustered index is the placement order of a table’s records in memory pages. When you insert new records, then each record will be inserted into the memory page in the order it belongs. In the figure below we see another new record (Major Disarray) being inserted, in sequence, between Jonny and Rick. Since there is no room in this memory page, some records will need to shift around. The page split occurs when Irenes’ record moves to the second page. Page splits are considered very bad for performance, and there are a number of techniques to reduce, or even eliminate, the risk of page splits. You can create a clustered index on the table on any field you choose. Sometime SQL will create a clustered index for you. Often times the field having the Primary Key makes a great candidate for the clustered index. Additional Hints: I have previously discussed various concepts from SQL Server Joes 2 Pros Volume 3. • Restrict number of characters to be typed for af:autoSuggestBehavior

    - by Arunkumar Ramamoorthy
    When using AutoSuggestBehavior for a UI Component, the auto suggest list is displayed as soon as the user starts typing in the field. In this article, we will find how to restrict the autosuggest list to be displayed till the user types in couple of characters. This would be more useful in the low latency networks and also the autosuggest list is bigger. We could display a static message to let the user know that they need to type in more characters to get a list for picking a value from. Final output we would expect is like the below image Lets see how we can implement this. Assuming we have an input text for the users to enter the country name and an autosuggest behavior is added to it. <af:inputText label="Country" id="it1"> <af:autoSuggestBehavior /> </af:inputText> Also, assuming we have a VO (we'll name it as CountryView for this example), with a view criteria to filter out the VO based on the bind variable passed. Now, we would generate View Impl class from the java node (including bind variables) and then expose the setter method of the bind variable to client interface. In the View layer, we would create a tree binding for the VO and the method binding for the setter method of the bind variable exposed above, in the pagedef file As we've already added an input text and an autosuggestbehavior for the test, we would not need to build the suggested items for the autosuggest list.Let us add a method in the backing bean to return us List of select items to be bound to the autosuggest list. padding: 5px; background-color: #fbfbfb; min-height: 40px; width: 544px; height: 168px; overflow: auto;"> public List onSuggest(String searchTerm) { ArrayList<SelectItem> selectItems = new ArrayList<SelectItem>(); if(searchTerm.length()>1) { //get access to the binding context and binding container at runtime BindingContext bctx = BindingContext.getCurrent(); BindingContainer bindings = bctx.getCurrentBindingsEntry(); //set the bind variable value that is used to filter the View Object //query of the suggest list. The View Object instance has a View //Criteria assigned OperationBinding setVariable = (OperationBinding) bindings.get("setBind_CountryName"); setVariable.getParamsMap().put("value", searchTerm); setVariable.execute(); //the data in the suggest list is queried by a tree binding. JUCtrlHierBinding hierBinding = (JUCtrlHierBinding) bindings.get("CountryView1"); //re-query the list based on the new bind variable values hierBinding.executeQuery(); //The rangeSet, the list of queries entries, is of type //JUCtrlValueBndingRef. List<JUCtrlValueBindingRef> displayDataList = hierBinding.getRangeSet(); for (JUCtrlValueBindingRef displayData : displayDataList){ Row rw = displayData.getRow(); //populate the SelectItem list selectItems.add(new SelectItem( (String)rw.getAttribute("Name"), (String)rw.getAttribute("Name"))); } } else{ SelectItem a = new SelectItem("","Type in two or more characters..","",true); selectItems.add(a); } return selectItems; } So, what we are doing in the above method is, to check the length of the search term and if it is more than 1 (i.e 2 or more characters), the return the actual suggest list. Otherwise, create a read only select item new SelectItem("","Type in two or more characters..","",true); and add it to the list of suggested items to be displayed. The last parameter for the SelectItem (boolean) is to make it as readOnly, so that users would not be able to select this static message from the displayed list. Finally, bind this method to the input text's autosuggestbehavior's suggestedItems property. <af:inputText label="Country" id="it1"> <af:autoSuggestBehavior suggestedItems="#{AutoSuggestBean.onSuggest}"/> </af:inputText>

  • Moving abroad - Relocation advice

    - by Tim Koekkoek
    Oracle offers graduates from different European countries the opportunity to start their career abroad. Some already have experience with living abroad as they have done an exchange semester or internship in another county, for others it is the first time they will move abroad. Rui started in October 2011 as a Business Development Consultant in Dublin and moved from Portugal to Dublin, Ireland to start his career. For those planning to leave their home country and who desire to work abroad, he will share some tips and tricks in this article. When you’re faced with an opportunity like this, there are lots of things that will come to your mind. Sometimes it can be either very exciting, or even stressful. 1. First of all, try to relax. If you are certain you are moving abroad, all you need to do is some research about the country where you’re going to live, get to know its culture (gastronomy, important dates and events, its economy and effective ways to keep you in touch with your family and friends – such as mobile companies and Internet services), and start to understand the best locations (with good access) you could/should live in are. Don’t forget that initially you can be limited by transport and therefore it is important to explore the ideal places for you. During this time, Oracle provides everything you’ll need (papers, documents, etc.) to cross borders. 2. When you arrive, you understand that you are in a new country, in a new place, where all things (or most) are unknown to you. Before you panic, try to see it as a new challenge where new opportunities will come. Sometimes, it’s not easy I know, but the very best a new place has to give to you, is the opportunity to understand a new culture, get to know other people, other ways of working, and grow both as a person and professionally. So, you have nothing to lose in this kind of experiment. 3. When you arrive at Oracle, there’s a fantastic team that will help you with settling in, HR, Payroll, Relocation, IT. In my case, Oracle helped me with the relocation, they supported me to arrange everything such as helping out with all the paperwork and finding a new apartment. As you can see they will do their best to help you to be successful! 4. Engage with your new co-workers. Going to a place where you don’t know anyone can be tough sometimes but see it as an opportunity to meet people from all over the world and share experiences. Embrace it. 5. Plan ahead, try to get the most information possible and use it. Oracle is a multinational enterprise that will allow you to get to know a new labour market and give you the flexibility you need to understand your view of employment and occupation, giving you the very best opportunities to join different teams and working areas, so that you can work where you fit best. Good luck! If you’re thinking about starting a career abroad, read the following article: http://www.overseasdigest.com/movingtips.htm it can be very useful to you. • Db4o Mvc Application Architecture

    - by Mac
    I am currently testing out Db4o for an asp.net MVC 2 application idea but there are a few things I'm not quite sure on the best way to proceed. I want my application to use guessable routes rather than Id's for referencing my entities but I also think I need Id's of some sort for update scenarios. so for example I want /country/usa instead of /country/1 I may want to change the key name though (not perhaps on a country but on other entities) so am thinking I need an Id to use as the reference to retrieve the object prior to updating it's fields. From other comments it seems like the UUID is a bit long to be using and would prefer to use my own id's anyway for clean separation of concerns. Looking at both the KandaAlpha project I wasn't too keen on some aspects of the design and prefer something more along the lines of S#arp architecture where they use things like the [domainsignature] and EntityWithTypedId, IEntityDuplicateChecker, IHasAssignedId, BaseObject and IValidatable in their entities to control insert/update behaviour which seems cleaner and more extensible, covers validation and is encapsulated well within the core and base repository classes. So would a port of S#arp architecture to Db4o make sense of am I still thinking rmdbs in an oodb world? Also is there a best practice for managing indexes (including Unique ones as above) in Db4o? Should they be model metadata based and loaded using DI in a bootstrapper for example or should they be more loaded more like Automapper.CreateMap? Its a bit of a rambling question I know but any thoughts, ideas or suggested reading material is greatly appreciated. Thanks Mac
