CNAME mydomain.com webdisk.blog.mydomain.com. A 198.123.44.55 However, say I have subdomain blog.mydomain.com which I still want to behave as a normal subdomain.     Hopefully my last thread about V&V as I found the B.Boehm is text which I just do not understand well (likely my technical English is not that good). http://csse.usc.edu/csse/TECHRPTS/1979/usccse79-501/usccse79-501.pdf Basically he says that verification is about checking that products derived from requirements baseline must correspond to it and that deviation leads only to changes in these derived products (design, code). But he says it begins with design and ends with acceptance tests (you can check the V model inside). The thing is, I have accepted ISO12207 in terms of all testing is validation, yet it does not make any sense here. In order to be sure the product complies with requirements (acceptance test) I need to test it. Also it says that validation problems means that requirements are bad and needs to be changed - which does not happen with testing that testers do, who just checks correspondence with requirements.

    I am completely new to Linux and have been asked to extend a VM running Ubuntu, I thought I would test this first so have just installed it in a test VM, I added the 2nd hard drive and used Gparted to format it with ext4 so I now have a drive called /dev/sdb1 I then created a new directory called mnt/datanew I then mounted that using the below command sudo mount -t ext4 /dev/sdb1 /mnt/datanew I thought I was doing well until when I went into home folder / file system mnt / datanew I noticed I couldn't create a new folder etc, I check the properties and it said I don't have permission as its all root How do I change this, I need to create some data and then test extending the partition as I want to see if it has any impact.

    I am trying to create a site that will allow you to type a sentence or passage of text, then click on words to bring up a list of synonyms (from an online API) and possibly authorized abbreviations from a list that I provide, then once clicked on it would replace that word with the word that was clicked on. It would function kind of like After the Deadline or a Javascript based spell checker. Are there any libraries set up to make something like this easy, or what kind of Javascript do I need to be looking at? Are there any tutorials or examples for this kind of thing? I am aware that the source code for After the Deadline is available, but I only need a small portion of their technology, not all of the actual grammar and spelling check technology.

  • Computed width with decimal values in Firefox, but without decimals in Webkit

    Hello one more time! I have a strange problem working with HTML,CSS in different browsers: Firefox 3.6 and Webkit browsers (Chrome & Safari). My HTML looks like this: <div class="ln-letters"> <a href="#" class="all">ALL</a> <a href="#" class="a">A</a> <a href="#" class="b">B</a> <a href="#" class="c">C</a> </div> And my CSS is... .ln-letters a { font-family: 'Lucida Grande'; font-size:14px; display:block; float:left; padding:0px 7px; border-left:1px solid silver; border-right:none; text-decoration:none; } So as you can guess, each anchor gets a different width depending on its inner text. For example the first element with the text 'ALL' will be bigger (more width) than the others. Now the problem is that in Firefox (using Firebug) I can see that the computed width for the first element is 26.5667px, while in Chrome (using Chrome's developer tools) the computed width for the same element is exactly 27px. Therefore the div.ln-letters ends with different widths in each browser and that is causing me some troubles. Question is: there is any workaround to avoid Firefox computing decimal values? Or the opposite: to force Chrome to compute decimal values? Thank you in advance!

    Database newbie here. I'm setting up a mysql table. One of the fields will accept a value in increment of a 0.5. e.g. 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, .... 200.5, etc. I've tried int but it doesn't capture the decimals. `value` int(10), What would be the smallest type that can accommodate this value, considering it's only a single decimal. I also was considering that because the decimal will always be 0.5 if at all, I could store it in a separate boolean field? So I would have 2 fields instead. Is this a stupid or somewhat over complicated idea? I don't know if it really saves me any memory, and it might get slower now that I'm accessing 2 fields instead of 1 `value` int(10), `half` bool, //or something similar to boolean What are your suggestions guys? Is the first option better, and what's the smallest data type in that case that would get me the 0.5?

    I have a table containing decimal numbers in one column. I'm looking to align them in a manner similar to a word processor's "decimal tab" feature, so that all the points sit on a vertical line. I have two possible solutions at the moment but I'm hoping for something better... Solution 1: Split the numbers within the HTML, e.g. <td><div>1234</div><div class='dp'>.5</div></td> with .dp { width: 3em; } (Yes, this solution doesn't quite work as-is. The concept is, however, valid.) Solution 2: I found mention of <COL ALIGN="CHAR" CHAR="."> This is part of HTML4 according to the reference page, but it doesn't work in FF3.5, Safari 4 or IE7, which are the browsers I have to hand. It also has the problem that you can't pull out the numeric formatting to CSS (although, since it's affecting a whole column, I suppose that's not too surprising). Thus, anyone have a better idea?

When I use my application, it turns out that when I press the dot key on my keyboard´s number pad, my application doesnt take it as a normal decimal dot and it ignores it... so I need to manually press the comma key so it can give me the right answer.     So I've got a ruby on rails code which use float a lot (lots of "to_f"). It uses a database with some numbers also stored as "float" type. I would like to migrate this code and the database to decimal only. Is it as simple as migrating the database columns to decimal (adding a decimal column, copying float column to decimal one, deleting float column, renaming decimal column to old float column name), and replacing "to_f" with "to_d" in the code?     I'm having difficulty using reinterpret_cast. Before I show you my code I'll let you know what I'm trying to do. I'm trying to get a filename from a vector full of data being used by a MIPS I processor I designed. Basically what I do is compile a binary from a test program for my processor, dump all the hex's from the binary into a vector in my c++ program, convert all of those hex's to decimal integers and store them in a DataMemory vector which is the data memory unit for my processor. I also have instruction memory. So When my processor runs a SYSCALL instruction such as "Open File" my C++ operating system emulator receives a pointer to the beginning of the filename in my data memory. So keep in mind that data memory is full of ints, strings, globals, locals, all sorts of stuff. When I'm told where the filename starts I do the following: Convert the whole decimal integer element that is being pointed to to its ASCII character representation, and then search from left to right to see if the string terminates, if not then just load each character consecutively into a "filename" string. Do this until termination of the string in memory and then store filename in a table. My difficulty is generating filename from my memory.   • Can't find PC on network

    I just got myself a new laptop, and set it up. It is connected to the wireless internet in my home. I then wanted to create a homegroup between the laptop and my desktop, but they can't find each other. Probably because the desktop has a wired connection to the router and the laptop is connected to a wireless access point. The router and the AP are connected to a switch in the middle by cable. A sketch of the network: Laptop - - - Wireless Access Point ----- Switch ----- Router ----- Desktop ^ ^ ^ ^ Wireless Wired Wired Wired They both point to the same gateway and DHCP-server (on 192.168.0.1). And I can ping to that address from both PCs. When I try to ping either of the PCs the pings time out. The subnets are also the same (255.255.255.0) and the IPs are in the same range (192.168.0.114 laptop, 192.168.0.205 desktop). So I don't really understand what I need to do to be able to access either computer from the other. The weird thing is that Synergy (to use mouse and keyboard over the network) works, just by using the IPs assigned to both PCs. The acces point is a linksys WAP54g, but I'm unsure of the Router, it has a custom casing from our ISP and hides any clues for identifying the product. I'm going to google a bit so I can add that info later. Both PC's are Windows 7 64 bit. The desktop is Ultimate, the laptop Professional.
