• modsecurity apache mod-security.conf missing

  Greetings Serverfaultians. I'm not a server guy as you can see from my noob score of 1 point. But maybe those more versed can help me. I'm using Ubuntu v13.10 32-bit Server and Apache2 v2.4.6 and I'm trying to set up and configure modsecurity and modevasive on an internet-exposed production/test server. I am trying to follow this tutorial: http://www.thefanclub.co.za/how-to/how-install-apache2-modsecurity-and-modevasive-ubuntu-1204-lts-server. But at step 3: Now add these rules to Apache2. Open a terminal window and enter: sudo vi /etc/apache2/mods-available/mod-security.conf This file does not exist. Any suggestions?

• How to search for one of two similar strings in Vim?

  This is a pretty simple regex question, I think. In Vim, if I want do a search that matches planA or planB, I know that I can do this: /plan[AB] This works because the regex allows for either A or B as its set of characters. But how can I specify one of two complete strings? For example, to match both planetAwesome and planetTerrible, this doesn't work: planet[Awesome|Terrible] ... because it's looking for planetA or planetw or planete, etc. Nor does this: planet['Awesome'|'Terrible'] This will match both of these, along with planetAnythingHereAsLongAsItsJustLetters: planet\([a-zA-Z]*\) But how can I match only strings that match planetAwesome or planetTerrible exactly?

• Google Indexing Issue after htaccess changes

  I have a site called www.FuneralCoverFinder.co.za. I have about 30 pages on the site and usually have 29 indexed. (Excluding 15 blog posts) They are new. I recently upgraded my entire site and made some redirection changes in my .htaccess file. I have made my url's more SEO friendly (Removing index.php/) and redirecting dead pages to working pages. I have tons of unique content all checked by grammarly and plagium to ensure I have no duplicate content. I have since resubmited my sitemap to Google and now have only one page indexed. It was within a couple of minutes. I usually see results almost immediately after submitting, now it's stuck on 1 page indexed. I assume I might have made errors in the .htaccess file as this was my first attempt. The site runs perfectly and all the url's redirect the way they should. I'm scared I have some or other loop, although the website runs fine. I still see many of my old indexed pages in the SERP's, I'm just worried that the issue with the new sitemap can cause my rankings some harm. My website is pretty SEO optimized onsite. I have about 1500 indexed backlinks and have been building them steadily over about half a year. I would really appreciate some clarity on this matter.

Right now www.myexample.com/information/ Serves /information.php. Great! However www.myexample.com/categories/category-1/ this throws a 404 even though the file /categories/category-1.php does exist. I would like to modify my .htaccess file so this serves /categories/category-1.php.

• nginx: location, try_files, rewrite: Find pattern match in subfolder, else move on?

  I'd like for Nginx to do the following: If the uri matches the pattern: http://mysite.com/$string/ and $string is not 'KB', and not 'images', look for $string.html in a specific subfolder. If $string.html exists in the subfolder, return it. If it does not exist, move on to the next matching location. $string = {any letters, numbers, or dash} For example, if the user requests: http://mysite.com/test/ It should look for a file called: /webroot/www/myfolder/test.html I've tried variations of: location ~ /[a-zA-Z0-9\-]+/ { try_files /myfolder/$uri.html @Nowhere; } But: It doesn't seem to find the file even when it does exist, and If it fails (which is always right now), it wants to jump to the @nowhere location, rather than moving on and trying to find another location that matches. I'd like for it to consider the current location "not a match" if the file doesn't exist.

  Using sed how could I replace two patterns within a larger pattern on a single line? Given a single line of text I want to find a pattern (Let's call this the outer pattern) and then within that outer pattern replace two inner patterns. Here's a one line example of the input text: Z:\source\private\main\developer\foo\setenv.sh(25): export 'FONTCONFIG_PATH'="$WINE_SHARED_SUPPORT/X11/etc/fonts" In the example above the outer pattern is "/^.*([[:digit:]]+):/" which should equal "Z:\source\private\main\developer\foo\setenv.sh(25):" The two inner patterns are "/^[A-Za-z]:/" and "/\/". Another way to phrase my question is: Using sed I know how to perform replacements of a pattern using the "s" command, but how do I limit the range of "s" command so it only works on the portion of the input string up to the "(25):"? The ultimate result I am trying to get is the line of text is transformed into this: /enlistments/source/private/main/developer/foo/setenv.sh(25): export 'FONTCONFIG_PATH'="$WINE_SHARED_SUPPORT/X11/etc/fonts"

• Why is my PHP query executing twice on page load?

  I am newish to PHP and I seem to be having an issue with an insert statement that executes twice when I open this page to view a document. In the database the 2nd insert is 1 second later. I am unsure if it is a favicon issue as my upload page uses an insert query and it executes once.   I need some help in bison grammar construction. From my another question: I'm trying to make a meta-language for writing markup code (such as xml and html) wich can be directly embedded into C/C++ code. I need to build an interpreter to translate this code to html and posteriorly insert it into C, so that it can be compiled. The C part stays intact. Inside the wdi source it is not necessary to use prints, every return statement will be used for output (in printf function). The program's output will be clean html code. • dynamically include zipfilesets into a WAR

  hi all - a bit of clumsy situation but for the moment we cannot migrate to more straight-forward project layout. We have a project called myServices and it has 2 source folders (yes, I know, but that's the way it is for now) - I'm trying to make build process a bit more flexible so we now have a property called artifact.names that will be parsed by generic build.xml and based on name, it will call either jar or war task, eg. myService-war will create a WAR file with the following zipfilesets included there: myService-war-classes, myService-war-web-inf, myService-war-meta-inf. I want to add a bit more flexibility, and allow having additional zipfilesets, eg. myService-war-etc-1,2 etc - so these will be picked up by the package target automatically. I cannot use "if" inside war target, and also ${ant.refid:myService-war-classes} property is not resolved, so I'm kind of stuck at the moment with my options - how do I dynamically include a zipfileset into a WAR? You can refer to fileset by id, but it MUST be defined then, eg. you can't have it optional on project level. Thank you. • Insane SmartGWT + GWT situation... Error on instantiating ListGridRecord?

  Hi all, I am asking this here in the hope that someone has maybe come across this situation too... I have posted this on the SmartGWT forum: I am having an issue when trying to instantiate a ListGridRecord object on my server side. I am using the ListGrid on the client side, I want to use GWT's RPC to pass back an array of ListGridRecord objects to populate the grid with. I know that SmartGWT is designed to link to a datasource but I want full control over when I populate the grid and this shouldn't be as much of a nightmare as it is to do. I have searched high and low and cannot find anyone complaining about the same thing. The exception however (listed below) has come up (in my search findings) as a possible memory error - where increasing the memory (-Xmx512m argument) has apparently solved the problem. It did not, however, sort out mine. If anyone can shed any light on this I would greatly appreciate it! Here are my details: Developing using Eclipse Galileo on Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty) and GWT 2.0.3, I built the initial GWT project using the webAppCreator bundled with the GWT 2.0.3 release and imported the project into Eclipse as described on the GWT Getting Started Page (as using the GWT Eclipse plugin caused even more nightmares when trying to connect to a database - this is apparently due to using the Google App Engine and turning it off as all the posts suggested only causes ClassNotFound exceptions). • PHP mailer containing HTML not showing correctly

  Hi guys, here is some code I've been working on, basically I need to set up a auto e-mail that gets sent to a user after they fill in a form, which at the moment it is doing, but the HTML is not displaying as it should inside of the email client. I checked in Gmail, Outlook and Mac mail and none of them display the HTML correctly. • Having different database sorting order (default_scope) for two different views

  In my model (pins.rb), I have two sorting orders: default_scope order: 'pins.featured DESC' #for adding featured posts to the top of a list default_scope order: 'pins.created_at DESC' #for adding the remaining posts beneath the featured posts This sorting order (above) is how I want my 'pins view' (index.html.erb) to look. Which is just a list of ALL user posts. In my 'users view' (show.html.erb) I am using the same model (pins.rb) to list only current_user pins. HOWEVER, I want to sorting order to ignore the "featured" default scope and only use the second scope: default_scope order: 'pins.created_at DESC' How can I accomplish this? I tried doing something like this: default_scope order: 'pins.featured DESC', only: :index default_scope order: 'pins.created_at DESC' But that didn't fly...   Hi all, I'm using the function preg_replace but I cannot figure out how to make it work, the function just doesn't seem to work for me. What I'm trying to do is to convert a string into a link if any word contains the % (percentage) character. For instance if I have the string "go to %mysite", I'd like to convert the mysite word into a link. I tried the following... $data = "go to %mysite"; $result = preg_replace('/(^|[\s.\,\:\;]+)%([A-Za-z0-9]{1,64})/e', '\1%\2', $data); ...but it doesn't work. Edit: To be more clear, I need a way to inspect or trigger the client-side validation result of the textbox, when I click the unrelated button beside it. Edit: I now have the button JS checking for $("form").validate().invalid, but not displaying the usual validation messages. Almost there Any ideas?

  I've been trying to construct a ruby regex which matches trailing spaces - but not indentation placeholders - so I can gsub them out. I had this /\b[\t ]+$/ and it was working a treat until I realised it only works when the line ends are [a-zA-Z]. :-( So I evolved it into this /(?!^[\t ]+)[\t ]+$/ and it seems like it's getting better, but it still doesn't work properly. I've spent hours trying to get this to work to no avail. Please help. Here's some text test so it's easy to throw into Rubular, but the indent lines are getting stripped so it'll need a few spaces and/or tabs. Once lines 3 & 4 have spaces back in, it shouldn't match on lines 3-5, 7, 9. some test test some test test some other test (text) some other test (text) likely here{ dfdf } likely here{ dfdf } and this ; and this ; Alternatively, is there an simpler / more elegant way to do this?

  I want to be able to read the cookies from Apache's HTTP_COOKIE string and then add includes based on the contents of that string. Now I want to be able to parse the string for something like Name=Bob. What should I be doing -- or isn't this possible?

• Replace text in folder names

  How can I replace the same text in folder names in linux? Say I have "Photos_Jun", "Photos_July", "Photos_Aug", etc. whats the simplest way I can rename them like "Photos Jun", "Photos July", etc (basically I want to replace the underscore with a space " ". I have about 200 of these folders. I was looking at solution: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1836563/how-can-i-easily-bulk-rename-files-with-perl It looks like what im looking for however, I dont know how to make a regular expression to match folders that are alphanumeric followed by a "_". • PHP preg_replace function returns different values with the same data set

  I need to use preg_match PHP function. I have a simple pattern to check the string and the thing is as follows: when I run the script at first, it gives me no match (it is supposed to match though) but when I hold F5 in my browser for a while, out of a sudden it says there's a match within the string. As I keep pushing F5, it gives either true or false. Say the pattern is /^(.*)\/[A-Za-z0-9]*$/ (I guess it's not the best way but still) and the subject is galeria/zdjecia/. I believe preg_match should return true with this set of data. Note that the data does not change when pressing F5. Why is that?
