  • How to debug Android App Eclipse?

    Ok. So while this isnt a programming question. I wanted to know how do people debug apps? How do you view log cat, and where these exceptions are thrown etc? And do I need to run the app on the emulator to see all the stuff, or is there a way to view this after running the app on my phone(while not being connected to the computer) Links to plugins and tips would be really helpful, as im gonna start work on my next game, and while the first one works fine, had a lot of problems while debugging.

  • Saving project (build) settings in Eclipse CDT [migrated]

    Is there an option somewhere in CDT (Juno) where I can set customized "Release" configurations for my projects? All I want to do for now is to be able to create a new C++ project and have by default the -std=c++11 and -std=gnu11options for the compilers and -s for the linker, and maybe a few other optimization flags. It's not a big hassle to do it every time for every new program, but I was just wondering, since I've been creating a lot of small programs to get to know C++ better.

  • Restfull authentication between two GAE apps.

    Hello everyone, i am trying to write a restful google app engine application (python) that accepts requests only from another GAE that i wrote. I dont like any of the ways that i thought of to get this done, please advice if you know of something better than: Get SSL setup, and simply add the credentials on the request that my consuming app will send. I dont like it cause SSL will slow things down. Security by obsecurity. Pass a long number by my consuming app that is in Xmod0, where X is a secret number that both applications know. I just,,,, dont like this. Check the HTTP header to see where is the request coming from. This option is the one that i hate the least, not alot of processing, and spoofing an HTTP request is not really worth it, for my application's data. Is there any other clean solution for this?

    When I'm writing crappy code in eclipse and I'm looking at a website for help I am constantly flipping back and forth between the browser and eclipse. To help me write crappy code faster is there a way to have a View that has a web page in it? I need to be able to set the URL and if I'm navigating around the site have a button to have it return to the original URL. So a URL Address box and 1 favorite link. BTW I'm not a Eclipse plugin developer.

    I have an eclipse based application. I have heard of swtbot however I am having a hard time understanding how exactly does this tool run my application and how would I specify that. This eclipse based application has an executable and various configuration/plugin/features files. I have done the tutorials about swtbot and I have successfully completed them but they all just create a template application to test on. Is this even possible? If not do you guys have any alternatives for UI automation testing on eclipse based apps? Thanks.

    I installed Eclipse and then the Ruby Development Tools (RDT), but it would crash when I try to alter certain features, like having line numbers, how far back to have history, and the code coloring scheme didn't work fully. I decided to try to uninstall Eclipse by doing sudo aptitude remove eclipse and then sudo aptitude install eclipse but instead it installed it back with the broken Ruby plugin. I also tried aptitude purge but that didn't help either. How can I freshly reinstall eclipse and get a properly working Ruby plugin?

  • Software location after installing via Ubuntu Software Center

    Let me tell you my problem: I just move from Windows 7 to Ubuntu and I'm trying to setup my programming environment. I installed Eclipse via Ubuntu Software Center, then opened it and installed additional plugins. Problem came up when I tried to install Subclipse: according to the official guide, I installed JavaHL, but that damned library wasn't automatically linked by Eclipse, so I was told to "Note that JavaHL does not install in a location that is on Eclipse's default path, so eclipse must be launched with -vmargs -Djava.library.path=/usr/lib/jni". Yes I know I have to modify eclipse.ini and add that vmargs line, but where is eclipse.ini??? I opened /usr/bin, the eclipse.exe is there but I can't found the rest. I really don't want to remove this Eclipse and download another from Eclipse download page, because I will have to reinstall every plugins again. Please can anyone tell me how to find the directory which contains software which installed via USC? Any help will be appreciated.

  • Rsync plugin to many local wordpress installs via script or cli

    I am maintaining a large number of wordpress installs on a production server, and we are looking to deploy InfiniteWP for managing these installs. I am looking for a way to script the distribution of the plugin folder to all of these installs. On server wp-prod, all sites are stored in /srv//site/ The plugin needs to be copied from ~/iws-plugin to /srv//site/wp-content/plugins/ Here's some pseudo code to explain what I need to do: array dirs = <all folders in /srv> for each d in dirs if exits "/srv/d/site/wp-content/plugins" rsync -avzh --log-file=~/d.log ~/plugin_base_folder /srv/d/site/wp-content/plugins/ else touch d.log echo 'plugin folder for "d" not found' >> ~/d.log end end I just don't know how to make it happen from the cli or via bash. I can (and will) tinker with a bash or ruby script on my test server, but I'm thinking the command-line-fu here on SF is strong enough to handle this issue much more quickly than I can hack together a solution.   • Maven WTP webapp with maven-eclipse-plugin but without m2eclipse

    I use the eclipse:eclipse goal to generate an Eclipse Project environment. The deployment works fine. The goal creates the var classpath entries for all needed dependencies. With m2eclipse there was the Maven Container which defines an export folder which was WEB-INF/lib for me. But i don't want to rely on m2eclipse so i don't want to use it anymore. the class path entries which are generated by eclipse:eclipse goal don't have such a export folder. While booting the servlet container with WTP it publishes all resources and classes except the libraries to the context. Whats missing to publish the needed libs, or isn't that possible without m2eclipse integration?     Updating the servlet version in application.properties to 2.5 has no affect on the generated web.xml.     I'm working on a GAE app. I want to query datastore and retrieve all records between startDate and endDate. Each record has a datetime field. How is the datetime stamp stored in datastore? As timestamp? Fully formatted? I can't find ANY information on this. Please help.

    We have a C-code project written for a Linux environment but we also want the ability to view and edit the code on Eclipse for Windows and have the headers be resolved. The problem we are facing is that a lot of the headers are included with absolute paths in the Linux format such as: #include /path/to/custom/header.h What I would like to be able to do is have Eclipse CDT map /path/to/custom/ to C:\path\to\custom. Is this possible?

    I want to extract all the properties from my pom.xml into a properties-file. These are the common properties like dependency-versions, plugin-versions and directories. I'm using the properties-maven-plugin, but its not working as i want it to.     There is a very useful "Clips" feature in Coda, do we have such thing in Eclipse? What it does is pretty simple, you save once a code clip which you use very often and assign it a shortcut and when you want to re-use it on editor you type the shortcut you assigned and it automatically pastes that code clip and sets caret position to the defined position. On the example here (second image) when i write 4dom and press TAB afterwards it types me this... jQuery(function($){ //puts cursor here }); Since it is a very useful feature i miss that one on Eclipse, is there a plugin for this?     Hiya, We've got a project set up to use the Maven Release Plugin which includes a phase that unpacks a JAR of XML schemas pulled from Artifactory and a phase that generates XJC classes. We're on maven release 2.2.1. Unfortunately the latter phase is executing before the former which means that it isn't generating the XJC classes for the schema.
