  Hello all, Is there any approach to convert an application developed in .NET into a native executable (sources are included)? Installing the whole framework (up to .NET Framework 3.5 SP1) takes a lot of time - not always the computers are updated from the internet.   Hi, I needed to include in my project but there is a line, in glut.h which is #pragma message("Note: including lib: glut32.lib\n") It is really annoying and I want to get rid of it when compiling. I could just remove the line in my glut.h but I want my fix to be independent of the glut.h. I have tried setting #pragma warnings to show only critical info, and I have also tried #pragma message disable but nothing worked. Any help?

My initial approach would be results = matrix(nrow=nrow(X), ncol=(2)) for(i in 1:ncol(X)) { matrix[i,] = coefficients(lm(Y[i,] ~ X[i,]) } But, loops are bad, so I could do it with lapply as out <- lapply(1:nrow(X), function(i) { coefficients(lm(Y[i,] ~ X[i,])) } ) Is there a better way to do this?

  Here is what I want to do, very simply: I want to put a URL into a Mozilla Prism (or some alternative), then be provided with an icon on my desktop that when I click it a window opens and the page is displayed. The process for this instance of Prism should be completely independent of any other Prism "applications" that are running. Prism looks like it does this exactly, but I'm running Fedora 12 x86_64 and I can't get it to work, so I'm wondering if there are any alternatives to Prism.

  I have an application which performs 30 independent tasks simultaneously using multithreading, each task retrieves data over http, performs a calculation and returns a result to the ui thread. Can I use tpl to perform the same tasks? Does tpl create 30 new threads and spread them over all the available cores, or does it just split the tasks over the available cores and use one thread per core? Will there be a performance boost using tpl over multithreading in this case?

  I want to do a database-side string concatenation in a Rails query, and do it in database-independent way. SQL-92 specifies double-bar (||) as the concatenation operator. Unfortunately it looks like MS SQL Server doesn't support it; it uses + instead. I'm guessing that Rails' SQL grammar abstraction has solved the db-specific operator problem already. If it does exist, how do I use it?

• iPhone: How much OpenGL cleanup do I need to do when a context goes away?

  I several views in an iPhone app which happen to use independent openGL contexts. They are not necessarily long-lived so they go away before the process does. And they have a couple textures in each. Does -releaseing the EAGLContext cause all that GL state to get cleaned up for me? Or am I leaking textures etc by not finding a place to call glDeleteTextures from? Thanks.

If I try to compile the file with Eclipse, I get errors telling me that I don't have included string.h in my lib files.
