  • Issues using SoapUI with Eclipse

    I get the following in the Error log when using the latest SoapUI 3.5. plugin in Eclipse Galileo on Ubuntu. Also, this seems to continually freeze Eclipse. I have tried a complete uninstall and restarting Eclipse with -clean argument to no avail. Has anyone encountered the same issue? Is there anything I can do to fix this?   • Jquery Date Picker: Append Start Date to End Date and display dates in the future only.

    Hello, I am using Jquery Date pickers to get Start and End Dates for an application I am building. I have two datepickers, one for a start date and one for an end date. When someone clicks a date in the start date picker I need that date to be appended automatically to the end date picker. I also need the end date picker to select future dates only from the date that has been appended to it. There are two demos on the jquery datepicker site that do what I want, but I am unsure how to combine them to both do what I want. All Access Bridge files will be automatically installed by the JRE and the JDK.             The Developer Preview for this feature is now available and can be downloaded from http://jdk7.java.net/download.html.            By default, the Java Access Bridge is disabled. In order to use the Java Access Bridge, enable it using the steps mentioned below and test your applications for accessibility.             Enable the Java Access Bridge: Use one of these mechanism:             1. Ease Of Access control panel.     On Windows Vista and later the Java Access Bridge can be enabled     from Ease of Access Center.     Select "Use the computer without a display". In "Other programs     installed" section , select the check box to     "Enable Java Access Bridge" and apply. 2. I installed Java 1.7.0 in the following folder C:\Program Files\Java The environment variable which I set are CLASSPATH : C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0\jre\lib\rt.jar; Path : C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0\bin; JAVA_HOME : C:\Program Files\Java; I have presented here the class names which are in my system.     I'm trying to post to a website from a Processing Sketch. (Processing is basically Java running in a fancy environment). I'm using this library : http://libraries.seltar.org/postToWeb/ but I don't know if that makes a difference. You can see from the stack trace below that this is just a wrapper for the Java standard library. Anyway, the important point is that the host "mysite.com" is up and running.     I recently passed the Oracle Certified Professional, Java SE 6 Programmer examination. Now, my boss would like me to take "the next step" to broaden my competence. I tried to explain that there is no equivalent Java EE 6 Programmer examination, but a number of different exams, such as Web Services, Web Components, and Enterprise JavaBeans. Is there a recommended path to follow for the various Oracle certifications in the Enterprise Edition of Java? Is it logical to take some exams prior to taking others because the content builds upon previous knowledge or are they all independent?

    My application was running fine until I upgraded my jre to 7u40. A workaround is to open the java control center and enable logging. This is a concern since by default "Enable Logging" is unchecked. If I select "Enable Logging", the application starts fine.

  • Java language book for an experienced programmer?

    I am looking for book to get up to speed with (start with) a Java language. I am experienced (more than 15 years) C# and C++ programmer with a bit of Python, so I don't need a book which starts with a programming concepts for a beginner. In fact I think I need a "Java language specification" sort of book. I checked the answers to questions similar to mine and found that there two books which is being recommended most: "Effective Java" and "Sun Certified Java Programmer". After a quick look at the "Effective Java" I realised it should not be a book to start with, it is a good book (I read all books in Effective C++, STL series and liked them but they are more "good practices" books, rather than a book for a beginners) "Sun Certified Java Programmer" looks closer to what I am after - but goes too slow for me. So I did some more search and found these two books: The Java(TM) Language Specification by Gosling himself Java™ Programming Language, The (4th Edition) by Ken Arnold I gather the first one a little bit dated and the second one is the best Java Language Reference books up to date, but I am not sure - as I am not a Java person to make such judgements. After reading the language reference book I will start learning the basic libraries / packages / namespaces (collections, algorithms, IO, etc) and then something about UI architecture. But that will come later. Question: - which Java Language reference book for an experienced programmer you can recomend ? and why? Cheers.

  • Checking if date parsing is correct

    Hello, I have this code for checking whether the Date is OK or not, but it's not ckecking all the cases. For example when text="03/13/2009" as this date doesn't exist in the format "dd/MM/yyyy" it parses the date as 03/01/2010. Is there any way to change this behaviour and getting an exception when I try to parse a Date which is not correct?   • Human readable and parsable date format in Java.

    I want to save a Date object to a readable string (for example 22/10/2009 21:13:14) that is also parsable back to a Date object. I have tried many things and the best I could find was to use DateFormater for parsing and formating but it has a setback. When you format a date you lose seconds information. I tried to find if there is an option to format it and display the seconds (even better would be to the millisecond level since that's the resolution the Date object allows you to have) but I came up short. Any ideas?
