  • IP address shows as a hyphen for failed remote desktop connections in Event Log

    - by PsychoDad
    I am trying to figure out why failed remote desktop connections (from Windows remote desktop) show the client ip address as a hyphen. Here is the event log I get when I type the wrong password for an account (the server is completely external to my home computer): <Event xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/win/2004/08/events/event"> <System> <Provider Name="Microsoft-Windows-Security-Auditing" Guid="{54849625-5478-4994-A5BA-3E3B0328C30D}" /> <EventID>4625</EventID> <Version>0</Version> <Level>0</Level> <Task>12544</Task> <Opcode>0</Opcode> <Keywords>0x8010000000000000</Keywords> <TimeCreated SystemTime="2012-03-25T19:22:14.694177500Z" /> <EventRecordID>1658501</EventRecordID> <Correlation /> <Execution ProcessID="544" ThreadID="12880" /> <Channel>Security</Channel> <Computer>[Delete for Security Purposes]</Computer> <Security /> </System> <EventData> <Data Name="SubjectUserSid">S-1-0-0</Data> <Data Name="SubjectUserName">-</Data> <Data Name="SubjectDomainName">-</Data> <Data Name="SubjectLogonId">0x0</Data> <Data Name="TargetUserSid">S-1-0-0</Data> <Data Name="TargetUserName">[Delete for Security Purposes]</Data> <Data Name="TargetDomainName">[Delete for Security Purposes]</Data> <Data Name="Status">0xc000006d</Data> <Data Name="FailureReason">%%2313</Data> <Data Name="SubStatus">0xc000006a</Data> <Data Name="LogonType">3</Data> <Data Name="LogonProcessName">NtLmSsp </Data> <Data Name="AuthenticationPackageName">NTLM</Data> <Data Name="WorkstationName">MyComputer</Data> <Data Name="TransmittedServices">-</Data> <Data Name="LmPackageName">-</Data> <Data Name="KeyLength">0</Data> <Data Name="ProcessId">0x0</Data> <Data Name="ProcessName">-</Data> <Data Name="IpAddress">-</Data> <Data Name="IpPort">-</Data> </EventData> </Event> Have found nothing online and am trying to stop terminal services attacks. • openssl api verify the public key matches private key

    - by AC
How do I write an openssl server that on a single port has two different active RSA private keys? The openssl documentation seems to implies there can only be one rsa private key active at time with in a context. So I was thinking I have two active context, but what is the code to handle figuring out which connection matches which context. Or am I going about this the wrong way.

  • LINQ transform Dictionary<key,value> to Dictionary<value,key>

    - by code4life
    I'm having a low-brainwave day... Does anyone know of a quick & elegant way to transform a Dictionary so that the key becomes the value and vice-versa? Example: var originalDictionary = new Dictionary<int, string>() { {1, "One"}, {2, "Two"}, {3, "Three"} }; becomes var newDictionary = new Dictionary<string, int>(); // contents: // { // {"One". 1}, {"Two". 2}, {"Three", 3} // };

  • HTG Explains: What The Windows Event Viewer Is and How You Can Use It

    - by Chris Hoffman
The Windows Event Viewer shows a log of application and system messages – errors, information messages, and warnings. Scammers have used the Event Viewer to deceive people – event a properly functioning system will have error messages here. In one infamous scam, a person claiming to be from Microsoft phones someone up and instructs them to open the Event Viewer. The person is sure to see error messages here, and the scammer will ask for the person’s credit card number to fix them. As a rule of thumb, you can generally ignore all of the errors and warnings that appear in the Event Viewer – assuming your computer is working properly. • Planning an Event&ndash;SPS NYC

    - by MOSSLover
I bet some of you were wondering why I am not going to any events for the most part in June and July (aside from volunteering at SPS Chicago).  Well I basically have no life for the next 2 months.  We are approaching the 11th hour of SharePoint Saturday New York City.  The event is slated to have 350 to 400 attendees.  This is second year in a row I’ve helped run it with Jason Gallicchio.  It’s amazingly crazy how much effort this event requires versus Kansas City.  It’s literally 2x the volume of attendees, speakers, and sponsors plus don’t even get me started about volunteers.  So here is a bit of the break down… We have 30 volunteers+ that Tasha Scott from the Hampton Roads Area will be managing the day of the event to do things like timing the speakers, handing out food, making sure people don’t walk into the event that did not sign up until we get a count for fire code, registering people, watching the sharpees, watching the prizes, making sure attendees get to the right place,  opening and closing the partition in the big room, moving chairs, moving furniture, etc…Then there is Jason, Greg, and I who will be making sure that the speakers, sponsors, and everything is going smoothly in the background.  We need to make sure that everything is setup properly and in the right spot.  We also need to make sure signs are printed, schedules are created, bags are stuffed with sponsor material.  Plus we need to send out emails to sponsors reminding them to send us the right information to post on the site for charity sessions, send us boxes with material to stuff bags, and we need to make sure that Michael Lotter gets there information for invoicing.  We also need to check that Michael has invoiced everyone and who has paid, because we can’t order anything for the event without money.  Once people have paid we need to setup food orders, speaker and volunteer dinners, buy prizes, buy bags, buy speakers/volunteer/organizer shirts, etc…During this process we need all the abstracts from speakers, all the bios, pictures, shirt sizes, and other items so we can create schedules and order items.  We also need to keep track of who is attending the dinner the night before for volunteers and speakers and make sure we don’t hit capacity.  Then there is attendee tracking and making sure that we don’t hit too many attendees.  We need to make sure that attendees know where to go and what to do.  We have to make all kinds of random supply lists during this process and keep on track with a variety of lists and emails plus conference calls.  All in all it’s a lot of work and I am trying to keep track of it all the top so that we don’t duplicate anything or miss anything.  So basically all in all if you don’t see me around for another month don’t worry I do exist. Right now if you look at what I’m doing I am traveling every Monday morning and Thursday night back and forth to Washington DC from New Jersey.  Every night I am working on organizational stuff for SharePoint Saturday New York City.  Every Tuesday night we are running an event conference call.  Every weekend I am either with family or my boyfriend and cat trying hard not to touch the event.  So all my time is pretty much work, event, and family/boyfriend.  I have 0 bandwidth for anything in the community.  If you compound that with my severe allergy problems in DC and a doctor’s appointment every month plus a new med once a week I’m lucky I am still standing and walking.  So basically once July 30th hits hopefully Jason Gallicchio, Greg Hurlman, and myself will be able to breathe a little easier.  If I forget to do this thank you Greg and Jason.  Thank you Tom Daly.  Thank you Michael Lotter.  Thank you Tasha Scott.  Thank you Kevin Griffin.  Thank you all the volunteers, speakers, sponsors, and attendees who will and have made this event a success.  Hopefully, we have enough time until next year to regroup, recharge, and make the event grow bigger in a different venue.  Awesome job everyone we sole out within 3 days of registration and we still have several weeks to go.  Right now the waitlist is at 49 people with room to grow.  If you attend the event thank all these guys I mentioned above for making it possible.  It’s going to be awesome I know it but I probably won’t remember half of it due to the blur of things that we will all be taking care of the day of the event.  Catch you all in the end of July/Early August where I will attempt to post something useful and clever and possibly while wearing a fez. • Fast Data Executive Round Table FY14 event kit

    - by JuergenKress
We are very interested to run joint marketing events jointly with you as our partners! At our SOA Community Workspace (SOA Community membership required) you can find a new Fast Data Executive Round Table FY14 event kit. This event is designed at senior IT and executives level for the purposes of education, awareness, and thought leadership around the subject of big data; and a specific flavor of big data - Fast Data - that has begun to spark the imagination of many Oracle customers. Fast Data is not new. It’s a term that was invented initially by Ovum’s Tony Baer as a way to represent the collection of ‘high velocity’ solutions with respect to the big data. For Oracle, the Fast Data campaign in FY13 began as a way to tie a broader set of solutions together (SOA/Business Process Management, Data Integration and Business Analytics) under a set of use cases focused on real-time, high velocity data. It has helped to give Oracle a leap-frog advantage over many of the niche integration vendors (i.e. Informatica, Pega, Tibco, Software AG, Terracotta) who haven’t been able to address these types of end-to-end use cases which rely on the combination of filtering, in-memory data processing, correlation, real-time data movement and transformation, end-to-end analytics, and business process management. Only Oracle can address all the dimensions of fast data, and only Oracle can provide a set of engineered solutions to address this space. This event is designed to continue that thought leadership momentum and raise the awareness about what Oracle Fast Data solutions are designed to solve. It’s designed to highlight real customer solutions and articulate the business benefits that fast data can address. This is not an event that gets into the esoteric technical standards of Hadoop, NoSQL, and in-memory data grids. This is an event that instead gets into the heart of business problems that big data has left un-addressed and charts the path for next steps in fast data. • Data architecture for event log metrics?

    - by elliot42
My service has a large ongoing number of user events, and we would like to do things like "count occurrence of event type T since date D." We are trying to make two basic decisions: What to store? Storing every event vs. only storing aggregates (Event log style) log every event and count them later, vs. (Time-series style) store a single aggregated "count of event E for date D" for every day Where to store the data In a relational database (particularly MySQL) In a non-relational (NoSQL) database In flat log files (collected centrally over the network via syslog-ng) What is standard practice / where can I read more about comparing the different types of systems? Additional details: The total event stream is large, potentially hundreds of thousands of entries per day But our current need is only to count certain types of events within it We don't necessarily need real-time access to the raw data or aggregation results IMHO, "log all events to files, crawl them at a later time to filter and aggregate the stream" is a pretty standard UNIX Way, but my Rails-y compatriots seem to think that nothing is real unless it's in MySQL.

  • KeyTouch remaps the delete key

    - by Robert Gowland
I installed KeyTouch, but it decided that the delete key should be the KeyTouch hot key. So, when I pressed deleted, KeyTouch came up. Next I uninstalled KeyTouch and now the delete key doesn't do anything. Is there any way to remap the delete key to actually delete? Notes: I tried reinstalling KeyTouch, and the same thing happens. KeyTouch does not allow the user to map the delete key. EDIT xev shows keycode 119 when I press the delete key xmodmap shows keycode 119 mapped to Delete NoSymbol Delete running xmodmap -e "keycode 119 = Delete" from the command line does not resolve the issue

  • Setting winforms ToolStripMenuItem ShortcutKeys to numpad key does not work

    - by Axarydax
We have the ability to define ShortcutKeys for WinForms application menu items. That way I can tell a menu item File-Save to have a shortcut key Ctrl+S and the menu item's handler is "magically" executed after pressing Ctrl+S. The trouble is with the numeric keypad keys, the ShortcutKey property does not accept them (I don't understand how are they different from the other acceptable keys. MSDN states that the property accepts type System.Windows.Forms.Keys (One of the Keys values. The default is None.); and an InvalidEnumArgumentException would be thrown when the parameter is not one of Keys values. But for example Keys.Divide IS one of Keys values, and yet it can't be used. So how can I set a menu item to have a shortcut for Numpad * or Numpad +? Do I need to handle the key in Form's ProcessCmdKey event? Thanks

  • Microsoft Workflow - "Event cannot be delivered"

    - by Wojtek
I have strange problem. My application is using Windows Workflow Foundation. It is simple app that creates requests and then other presons accepts/denies these requests. Everything was working very fine until my client took application to other servers (app and db). From this time WF instances are created in DB but when app tries to fire event to WF instance it strikes exception: "Event "EventName" for instance id "instanceGUID" cannot be delivered". What went wrong? Any suggestion where to start find the problem?

  • iPhone Key-Value Observer: observer not registering in UITableViewController

    - by Scott
    Hi Fellow iPhone Developers, I am an experienced software engineer but new to the iPhone platform. I have successfully implemented sub-classed view controllers and can push and pop parent/child views on the view controller stack. However, I have struck trouble while trying to update a view controller when an object is edited in a child view controller. After much failed experimentation, I discovered the key-value observer API which looked like the perfect way to do this. I then registered an observer in my main/parent view controller, and in the observer I intend to reload the view. The idea is that when the object is edited in the child view controller, this will be fired. However, I think that the observer is not being registered, because I know that the value is being updated in the editing view controller (I can see it in the debugger), but the observing method is never being called. Please help! Code snippets follow below. Object being observed. I believe that this is key-value compliant as the value is set when called with the setvalue message (see Child View Controller below). X.h: @interface X : NSObject <NSCoding> { NSString *name; ... @property (nonatomic, retain) NSString *name; X.m: @implementation X @synthesize name; ... Main View Controller.h: @class X; @interface XViewController : UITableViewController { X *x; ... Main View Controller.m: @implementation XViewController @synthesize x; ... - (void)viewDidLoad { ... [self.x addObserver:self forKeyPath: @"name" options: (NSKeyValueObservingOptionNew | NSKeyValueObservingOptionOld) context:nil]; [super viewDidLoad]; } ... - (void)observeValueForKeyPath:(NSString *)keyPath ofObject:(id)object change:(NSDictionary *)change context:(void *)context { if ([keyPath isEqual:@"name"]) { NSLog(@"Found change to X"); [self.tableView reloadData]; } [super observeValueForKeyPath:keyPath ofObject:object change:change context:context]; } Child View Controller.m: (this correctly sets the value in the object in the child view controller) [self.x setValue:[[tempValues objectForKey:key] text] forKey:@"name"];

  • How to sketch out an event-driven system?

    - by Jordan
I'm trying to design a system in Node.js (an attempt at solving one of my earlier problems, using Node's concurrency) but I'm running into trouble figuring out how to draw a plan of how the thing should operate. I'm getting very tripped up thinking in terms of callbacks instead of returned values. The flow isn't linear, and it's really boggling my ability to draft it. How does one draw out an operational flow for an event-driven system? I need something I can look at and say "Ok, yes, that's how it will work. I'll start it over here, and it will give me back these results over here." Pictures would be very helpful for this one. Thanks. Edit: I'm looking for something more granular than UML, specifically, something that will help me transition from a blocking and object-oriented programming structure, where I'm comfortable, to a non-blocking and event driven structure, where I'm unfamiliar.

  • search array and get array key

    - by SoulieBaby
Hi all, I have an array, which I'd like to search for a value in and retreive the array key if it exists, but not sure how to even go about doing that. Here's my array: Array ( [hours] => Array ( [0] => 5 [1] => 5 [2] => 6 [3] => 6 [4] => 8 [5] => 10 ) ) So I'd like to search the hours array for 10, if 10 exists in the array, I want the key (5) to be returned. If that makes sense? Am trying to do it dynamically so the search string (10) will change, but I figure if I can get it working for number 10, I can get it working with a variable number :)

  • PHP AJAX mysql event calendar - UI for events spanning multiple days

    - by play
I have built a PHP calendar system and have pretty much everything done but not sure how to deal with a UI issue involving how the events that stretched out over a couple of days. I want to be able to stretch an event that stretches over couple of days in a div that spans those days in the calendar. Basically I would like to know how to achieve what these guys have achieved with the event that stretches out from 21st to 22nd with the yellow div background. I have been trying to see how I can do it with PHP but I feel like I might be trying the wrong thing. Perhaps this is done with javascript?

  • Ext RowEditor.js does not fire 'afteredit' event

    - by terrani
Hi, I have a Ext grid with RowEditor plugin. I have the following code to add 'afteredit' event to the roweditor object. store.on('update',function(){ }); editor.on("afteredit",function(roweditor, changes, record, index){ $.ajax({ url: $("#web").val() + "/registration/client/address-save" ,type: 'post' ,data: record.json ,dataType: 'json' ,success: function(data){ if(data.success == true){ alert("Update Successfully"); } } }); }); when I click a row and edit a value, sometimes the grid fires 'afteredit' event, but sometimes it doesn't. Do I have a problem with my code above?

  • Manage Foreign key and Drop downlist for optional field in .NET

    - by Brij
What is the best way to handle following situation? A dropdown(for master table) is optional in a particular form. But, In database table the field is constrained with foreign key. If user don't select from dropdown then It creates problem because of foreign key. One solution is to create default option in master table and use it in case of blank selection. but in dropdown, we need to handle this to show on top. Is it perfect solution? Is there any other optimized solution for this? Thanks

  • Check For Duplicate Records VS try/catch Unique Key Constraint

    - by Jed
I have a database table that has a Unique Key constraint defined to avoid duplicate records from occurring. I'm curious if it is bad practice to NOT manually check for duplicate records prior to running an INSERT statement on the table. In other words, should I run a SELECT statement using a WHERE clause that checks for duplicate values of the record that I am about to INSERT. If a record is found, then do not run the INSERT statement, otherwise go ahead and run the INSERT.... OR Just run the INSERT statement and try/catch the exception that may be thrown due to a Unique Key violation. I'm weighing the two perspectives and can't decide which is best- 1. Don't waste a SELECT call to check for duplicates when I can just trap for an exception VS 2. Don't be lazy by implementing ugly try/catch logic VS 3. ???Your thoughts here??? :)

  • jQyery bind on ajax load() event

    - by Andrei C
Hi guys. I have a page which display multiple blocks with results details. Inside each block I have some tags with thichbox jQuery plugin attached( class="thichbox"). http://jquery.com/demo/thickbox/ here is an example of one kind of ampersant tag: <a class="thickbox" title="Please Sign In" href="userloginredir.php?height=220&width=350&deal=3"> Problem comes when I added a jQuery pagination to the page because of to many results displaying on the page. The div component with the results inside is updated through ajax load() event. Below is the pagination script. $(document).ready(function(){ //References var pages = $("#menu_deals li"); var loading = $("#loading_deals"); var content = $("#content_deals"); //show loading bar function showLoading(){ loading .css({visibility:"visible"}) .css({opacity:"1"}) .css({display:"block"}) ; } //hide loading bar function hideLoading(){ loading.fadeTo(1000, 0); }; //Manage click events pages.live('click',function(){ //show the loading bar showLoading(); //Highlight current page number pages.css({'background-color' : ''}); $(this).css({'background-color' : 'yellow'}); //Load content var pageNum = this.id; var targetUrl = "ajax_search_results.php?page=" + pageNum + "&" + $("#dealsForm").serialize() + " #content_d"; content.load(targetUrl, hideLoading); }); //default - 1st page $("#1").css({'background-color' : 'yellow'}); var targetUrl = "ajax_search_results.php?page=1&" + $("#dealsForm").serialize() + " #content_d"; showLoading(); content.load(targetUrl, hideLoading); }); When I added pagination(code above), the thickbox events are not recognized anymore and instead of poping out a window with the login form inside it opens the results in new page (is acting like clicking on a normal link) From my jQuery knowledge this means that the components are not defined in the DOM because the content is updated after document ready triggered. I'm trying to bind the load event with something like this: content.bind('load',???); But I don't know how to pass the load params, targetUrl and the callback function hideLoading, when binding the load event. Please help me out in this matter, already took me more time than possible allowed. Thank you!
