    hi, I've a question about how to customize drupal modules avoiding hacks. Let's say I've downloaded Lightbox2 module and I want to change the javascript file to display differently my lightbox. At the moment I'm modifying the Lightbox2 module, so I cannot update it anymore, so I know it is not the best practice. I was wondering if I can customize the javascript file of this module with a hook, and how. Thanks

  • Visual Studio 2008 - Assemblies are not loaded into Modules after relocating the website and project

    I recently moved the asp.net website solution folder (along with class projects) to different location. As the result, visual studio doesn't stop at break points, and I could not able to debug. I see none of my assemblies at Debug Windows Modules; only microsoft assemblies are loaded. I have also deleted all bin folder and re-referenced all projects. But still no luck. Thanks in advance!

    Hi Newcomer to Objective C and trying to translate concepts and sytax I know from ecmascript based languages to Objective C. Is it proper to think of the .h header file in ObjectiveC as an Interface in Actionscript? Lets take the following code example in Objective C which calls a method containing 2 arguments [myTextObject setString: @"Hello World" color: kWhiteColor]; In Actionscript(or javascript) would this be the same as calling 2 accessor methods on 'myTextObject'? ie myTextObject.setString("Hello World") myTextObject.color(kWhiteColor);

  • Are C++ meta-templates required knowledge for programmers?

    In my experience Meta-templates are really fun (when your compilers are compliant), and can give good performance boosts, and luckily I'm surrounded by seasoned C++ programmers that also grok meta-templates, however occasionally a new developer arrives and can't make heads or tails of some of the meta-template tricks we use (mostly Andrei Alenxandrescu stuff), for a few weeks until he gets initiated appropriately. So I was wondering what's the situation for other C++ programmers out there? Should meta-template programming be something C++ programmers should be "required" to know (excluding entry level students of course), or not? Edit: Note my question is related to production code and not little samples or prototypes

    I have created an interpreter for my programming language (educational) and now I'd like to go one step further and create a compiler for it. I know that this is pretty hard work. What I already know is: I need to translate my input language to assembler A lot, isn't it? Now what I don't know is: What assembler do I need to create Win32 PE executables like, for example, Visual Studio does? What about file headers? I'd prefer not to use MASM but it seems like I'll have to. How to combine the assembler with my compiler?

  • CSS: How to set remaining width as %, but having knowledge of only pixels

    Hi all, I've seen this question asked in a couple other contexts on SO, but I thought it would be worth asking again for my particular case. I'm trying to create some re-usable CSS classes for more consistency and less clutter on my site, and I'm stuck on trying to standardize one thing I use frequently. I have a container div that I don't want to set the height for (because it will vary depending on where on the site it is), and inside it is a header div, and then an unordered list of items, all with CSS applied to them. It looks a lot like this: I want the unordered list to take up the remaining room in the container div, knowing that the header div is 18px tall. I just don't know how to specify the list's height as "the result of 100% minus 18px". Does anyone have any advice in this situation? Thanks very much.

    I just upgraded to Ubuntu 12.04 from 11.10 using update manager. I use it as virtual machine on VMWare Player 4.xx. As usual I installed vmware tools to enable full screen mode and shared folder functionality.   • Compiling python modules whith DEBUG defined on MSVC

    Python rather stupidly has a pragma directive in its include files that forces a link against python26_d.lib when the DEBUG preprocessor variable is defined. This is a problem because the python installer doesn't come with python26_d.lib! So I can't build applications in msvc in debug mode. If i temporarily #undef DEBUG for just one file I get many complaints about inconsistent DLL linkage. If I change the pragma in pythons include file I get undefined references to various debug functions. I have tried compiling my own version of python but its somehow different enough from the python that gets distributed that I can't use my modules with apps built with the vanilla version of python Can anyone give me any advice on how to get round this?     Hi! I have a C++ application that loads externals plugins thanks to QPluginloader. QPluginLoader provides access to a Qt plugin. A Qt plugin is stored in a shared library (a DLL). The plugins have to inherit from a pure virtual class ( and Q_DECLARE_INTERFACE ) and QObject. I would like to create plugins by using python and PyQt. Is this possible without too much work? For instance if I have to convert the modules to C++ with boost::python, this could be nonsense, as PyQt is already a conversion from C++ to Python... Thanks!

When I split it up into separate modules in a requirejs application, I do not seem to get a handle on the event object & it shows up as undefined (testing in firefox 29.0.1).     I have a project under which various distributed applications are placed; the whole project is under a single dll. Hence, if any issue occurs we need to re-build the whole application to run or import to our server. I am looking for the best possible way to make the build process faster and also bit worried about the size of the DLL. Is it a good way to have separate dll for all the modules or split the application in multiple projects??? Can, anyone suggest the best way or example to deal with this situation.   • Running Perl Scripts on servers that don't have the modules

    I need to run a perl script to gather system information that will be deployed and executed on different unix servers. Right now I am writing it and testing it, and I'm receiving this error. Can't locate XML/DOM.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /usr/local/lib64/perl5 /usr/local/share/perl5 /usr/lib64/perl5/vendor_perl /usr/share/perl5/vendor_perl /usr/lib64/perl5 /usr/share/perl5 .) at test.pl line 7. BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at test.pl line 7. So I am simply using XML::DOM which should be part of Perl but it isn't for this version on this particular server which is 5.10.1. Anyways, is there a way I can create and design my script and package modules into it while keeping the .pl extension, which is the requirement for this script?

    Hi, I have a simple requirement in which I want to execute a long running application program on server (e.g. DTSX) I want to make an HTTP module for this, But I have a question whether the DTSX will run even if the user closes the page and browser. In my case user hits the handler with a query string but what if the user closes the browser immediately? How is the behavior different from simple linear page processing? I want my DTSX package to finish once its started no matter how much time it takes and also dont want to halt the user that is why I am using http modules in place of linear asp page processing.   • IIS7 Modules - managed or native?

    Hi all, as the old ISAPI filters are going to die sooner or later, I want to rewrite an old ISAPI filter that was used in IIS 6 into a module for use in IIS 7. The module will be used globally, meaning it will be used within each site, on a Windows Server 2008 R2 with IIS 7.5 installed, that will host several thousand web sites and managing about 50 application pools. My question now is if I should write that module in managed or unmanaged code? One of my concerns regarding managed code is the massive memory consumption due to the .NET framework overhead. I don't know how this would effect the server's performance. I already wrote modules in managed as well as in unmanaged code. So this is not the bothering my decision. But I would prefer to write the module in C# if there are no huge drawbacks. Any suggestions about that issue?

    I have a classic Java SOA application, with a web UI module, web services module, a service module (Java API), a domain module and a persistence module. In a sense, each of these modules has their own public API. My understanding of Spring Security is that I can use web filters to handle the security of the web gui and web services, and method level security (via annotations) for the service module. My question is this: should I bother to add method level security to the domain module and the persistence module or is that considered overkill?
