    Most mature C++ projects seem to have an own reflection and attribute system, i.e for defining attributes which can be accessed by string and are automatically serializable. At least many C++ projects I participated in seemed to reinvent the wheel.   • Audio processing libraries for Ruby?

    Any recommendation on libraries to do audio processing in Ruby. I need to do the following two tasks: Find silences, for which I'm happy to just be able to iterate over each sample in the wave. Cut and paste pieces of wav files to form a new wav file. Convert wav to mp3, which I will probably leave to lame anyway. I'm looking for the equivalent of NAudio, a C# library.

  • Does anyone know a way to interact with HP OV(NNM) with python, perl or bash?

    Do anyone know if there is out there any API/library to access NNM database from perl or python? We have a NNM 7.53 which give us access to its data with its java based applet through http. And of course through the 'ovw' GUI interface. I've tried to use Mechanize and selenium2(webdriver) to automatize some checks.     In the vein of this question http://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/3037/is-there-an-easy-way-to-replace-duplicate-files-with-hardlinks is there any software that will automatically parse a library of my songs and find the ones that really are duplicates that one can be eliminated? Here's an example: My brother used to be a huge fan of remixing CDs. He would take all of his favorite tracks and put them on one. Then he would use my computer to read them in. So now I have like 6 copies of Californication on my HDD, and they're all a few bytes difference overall. I have hundreds of songs in my library like this. I want to trim them down to having uniques. They don't all have correct ID3 tags, so figuring out that Untitled(74).mp3 is the same as californication.mp3 is the same as whowrotethis.mp3 is tricky. I do NOT want to consider a concert album and a studio album rip to be the same (if I just did artist/title matching I would end up with this scenario, which doesn't work for me). I use Windows (pick your platform) and will be getting an OSX box later in the year. I'll run Linux if that's what it takes to get it organized. I have unprotected AAC and mp3 files. Bonus points for messing with WAV or MIDI and bonus points for converting from those into MP3 (I can always use Audacity and LAME to convert later if I know they match or to convert ahead of time if that will make things easier). Are there any suggestions, or do I need to goto Programmers or SO and build a list of requirements for comparing these things and write the software myself?

  • PSQL 64bit driver error

    I have an Ubuntu 12.04 64bit server setup under Hyper-V. I have installed Pervasive 64bit SQL drivers so that a stock-updater script can run daily (Updates external MySQL database from another local server running Exchequer software / PSQL database).     I've just made the switch to Ubuntu on my main PC and I've been looking for a media player that can: Play all the usual video formats Rate (and ideally, tag) each file Display thumbnails for each file Other than that there isn't much I'm after. Banshee comes close, but doesn't display thumbnails. I've Google'd lots but I'm running out of search terms to try. Does anyone have any suggestions? Cheers!

  • Eclipse CDT wont recognize standard library

    I work primarily on my desktop, but I started working on my mac laptop and noticed a problem with eclipse CDT. The standard library was underlined yellow and cout wouldn't work (It wouldn't recognize/find it). I tried restarting the program and that didn't work. I then tried to see if xcode would work, found that the version of xcode was too old, and updated xcode. Eclipse still didn't work, but xcode did. I tried re-installing eclipse to the new version and re-installing cdt. It still wouldn't work. Restarting my computer wont work either. I'm not sure if this helps (or even matters/applies) but when I type g++ --version into terminal, it doesn't work. (I don't know if that matters but some tutorial told me to do that to check if the compiler was working). So, in review, I have: Re-installed eclipse Restarted my computer Re-installed xcode (which I think has all the compilers eclipse uses.) Updated Eclipse Typed g++ --version to test compiler.

  • ELF: linking: Why do I get undefined references in .so files

    Hi, I'm trying to build a program against wxWidgets, and I get a linker error. I'd like to really understand what it means. The error is: /usr/lib/libwx_baseu-2.8.so: undefined reference to `std::ctype<char>::_M_widen_init() const@GLIBCXX_3.4.11' What I don't understand is why the error is at libwx_baseu-2.8.so. I thought that .so files had all its symbols resolved, contrary to .o files that still need linking. When I ldd the .so, I get can resolve all its linked libraries, so there is no problem there: $ ldd /usr/lib/libwx_baseu-2.8.so linux-gate.so.1 => (0x00476000) libz.so.1 => /lib/libz.so.1 (0x00d9c000) libdl.so.2 => /lib/libdl.so.2 (0x002a8000) libm.so.6 => /lib/libm.so.6 (0x00759000) libstdc++.so.6 => /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6 (0x002ad000) libgcc_s.so.1 => /lib/libgcc_s.so.1 (0x0068d000) libpthread.so.0 => /lib/libpthread.so.0 (0x006f0000) libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0x00477000) /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x007f6000) Does it means that the .so file was not compiled correctly (in that case, it's a bug in my distribution package) or does it means that there are missing libraries on the linker command line for my particular program? Additionally, do you know how I can get a list on undefined symbols in an ELF file. I tried readelf -s but I can't find the missing symbol. Thank you. Mildred

  • Including libraries in project. Best practise.

    Hi guys, I'm writing a Python open-source app. My app uses some open source Python libraries. These libraries in turn use other open-source libraries. I intend to release my code at Sourceforge or Google Code but do I need to include the sources of the other libraries? Is this a good practice? ...or should I simply write this information into a README file informing the use about the other required libraries. I've placed all these libraries into a libs sub folder in my source directory. When checking my code into SVN, should I use something called svn:externals to link to other sources? Is there a way to dynamically update my libraries to the latest version or is this something I have to do manually when I release a new version. My sincerest apologies if my question sounds vague but I'm pretty lost in this matter and I don't know what to Google for. Thanks all.

  • Making a 64 bit shared library that dynamically links to a 32 bit library on Mac OS X Snow Leopard

    Update: After some more reading I see that this problem is totally general, you can't mix architectures in the same process, so 64 bit Java cannot dlopen() a 32 bit library like FMOD. Is there any possible workaround for this, keeping in mind I'm writing my own C interface to the FMOD library? I need to make a 64-bit dylib on Max OS X because Java Native Access only likes 64-bit libraries on 64-bit machines. The problem is, my C source code dynamically includes FMOD which on Mac only provides 32-bit dylibs.   • iPhone static library Clang/LLVM error: non_lazy_symbol_pointers

    After several hours of experimentation, I've managed to reduce the problem to the following example (C++): extern "C" void foo(); struct test { ~test() { } }; void doTest() { test t; // 1 foo(); // 2 } This is being compiled for iOS devices in XCode 4.2, using the provided Clang compiler (Apple LLVM compiler 3.0) and the iOS 5.0 SDK. The project is configured as a Cocoa Touch Static Library, and "Enable Linking With Shared Libraries" is set to No because I'm building an AIR native extension. The function foo is defined in another external library. (In my actual project, this would be any of the C API functions defined by Adobe for use in AIR native extensions.) When attempting to compile this code, I get back the error: FATAL:incompatible feature used: section type non_lazy_symbol_pointers (must specify "-dynamic" to be used) clang: error: assembler command failed with exit code 1 (use -v to see invocation) The error goes away if I comment out either of the lines marked 1 or 2 above, or if I change the build setting "Enable Linking With Shared Libraries" to Yes. (However, if I change the build setting, then I get multiple ld warning: unexpected srelocation type 9 warnings when linking the library into the final project, and the application crashes when running on the device.) The build error also goes away if I remove the destructor from test. So: Is this a bug in Clang? Am I missing some all-important and undocumented build setting? The interaction between an externally-provided function and a struct with a destructor is very peculiar, to say the least.

  • Mac OS X and static boost libs -> std::string fail

    Hi all, I'm experiencing some very weird problems with static boost libraries under Mac OS X 10.6.6. The error message is main(78485) malloc: *** error for object 0x1000e0b20: pointer being freed was not allocated *** set a breakpoint in malloc_error_break to debug [1] 78485 abort (core dumped) and a tiny bit of example code which will trigger this problem: #define BOOST_FILESYSTEM_VERSION 3 #include <boost/filesystem.hpp> #include <iostream> int main (int argc, char **argv) { std::cout << boost::filesystem::current_path ().string () << '\n'; } This problem always occurs when linking the static boost libraries into the binary. Linking dynamically will work fine, though. I've seen various reports for quite a similar OS X bug with GCC 4.2 and the _GLIBCXX_DEBUG macro set, but this one seems even more generic, as I'm neither using XCode, nor setting the macro (even undefining it does not help. I tried it just to make sure it's really not related to this problem.) Does anybody have any pointers to why this is happening or even maybe a solution (rather than using the dynamic library workaround)? Best regards, Mihai

  • C++: how to build my own utility library?

    I am starting to be proficient enough with C++ so that I can write my own C++ based scripts (to replace bash and PHP scripts I used to write before). I find that I am starting to have a very small collection of utility functions and sub-routines that I'd like to use in several, otherwise unrelated C++ scripts. I know I am not supposed to reinvent the wheel and that I could use external libraries for some of the utilities I'm creating for myself. However, it's fun to create my own utility functions, they are perfectly tailored to the job I have in mind, and it's for me a large part of the learning process. I'll see about using more polished external libraries when I am proficient enough to work on more serious, long term projects. So, the question is: how do I manage my personal utility library in a way that the functions can be easily included in my various scripts? I am using linux/Kubuntu, vim, g++, etc. and mostly coding CLI scripts. Don't assume too much in terms of experience! ;) Links to tutorials or places where relevant topics are properly documented are welcome.

    I have installed Nvidia's drivers on my Ubuntu 13 system, but according to this command (ldconfig -p | grep GL): $ ldconfig -p | grep GL libQtOpenGL.so.4 (libc6,x86-64) => /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libQtOpenGL.so.4 libGLU.so.1 (libc6,x86-64) => /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libGLU.so.1 libGLEWmx.so.1.8 (libc6,x86-64) => /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libGLEWmx.so.1.8 libGLEW.so.1.8 (libc6,x86-64) => /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libGLEW.so.1.8 libGLESv2.so.2 (libc6,x86-64) => /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/mesa-egl/libGLESv2.so.2 libGL.so.1 (libc6,x86-64) => /usr/lib/libGL.so.1 libGL.so.1 (libc6) => /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/mesa/libGL.so.1 libGL.so (libc6,x86-64) => /usr/lib/libGL.so libEGL.so.1 (libc6,x86-64) => /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/mesa-egl/libEGL.so.1 The 32bit version of OpenGL is pointing to mesa's libraries instead of nvidia. This causes my Steam games to refuse to launch with the error: Could not find required OpenGL entry point 'glGetError'! Either your video card is unsupported, or your OpenGL driver needs to be updated. Why is this the case? When the nvidia installer asked me if I wanted to install "32bit compatability libraries" (or something like that) I chose yes. How do I fix this? Edit: I just reinstalled the same Nvidia driver, and that apparently removed the 32bit OpenGL driver completely: $ ldconfig -p | grep libGL.so libGL.so.1 (libc6,x86-64) => /usr/lib/libGL.so.1 libGL.so (libc6,x86-64) => /usr/lib/libGL.so Now Steam won't start: You are missing the following 32-bit libraries, and Steam may not run: libGL.so.1 Again, I chose YES when the installer asked me if I wanted to install 32bit libraries. Why are they not installed!?
