  • Fluent NHibernate OptimisticLock.None() causes "The string 'none' is not a valid Boolean value."

    - by David Thomas Garcia
    I'm using the following mapping: public class LoadMap : IAutoMappingOverride<Load> { public void Override(AutoMapping<Load> mapping) { mapping.HasMany(x => x.Bids).OptimisticLock.None(); mapping.Version(x => x.Version); } } But when I try to create the session I get the following exception: [FormatException: The string 'none' is not a valid Boolean value.] [XmlSchemaValidationException: The 'optimistic-lock' attribute is invalid - The value 'none' is invalid according to its datatype 'http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema:boolean' - The string 'none' is not a valid Boolean value.] I'm using NHibernate 2.1.2.4000 and I was using Fluent NHibernate 1.0RTM, but tried the latest build 636 just to be sure this isn't something that was fixed recently or something. As a side note, in case I'm doing this all wrong, I would like to be able to make changes to the .Bids list without incrementing Version. I saw an example on Ayende's blog that did what I wanted with properties.

  • NHibernate FetchMode.Lazy

    - by RyanFetz
    I have an object which has a property on it that has then has collections which i would like to not load in a couple situations. 98% of the time i want those collections fetched but in the one instance i do not. Here is the code I have... Why does it not set the fetch mode on the properties collections? [DataContract(Name = "ThemingJob", Namespace = "")] [Serializable] public class ThemingJob : ServiceJob { [DataMember] public virtual Query Query { get; set; } [DataMember] public string Results { get; set; } } [DataContract(Name = "Query", Namespace = "")] [Serializable] public class Query : LookupEntity<Query>, DAC.US.Search.Models.IQueryEntity { [DataMember] public string QueryResult { get; set; } private IList<Asset> _Assets = new List<Asset>(); [IgnoreDataMember] [System.Xml.Serialization.XmlIgnore] public IList<Asset> Assets { get { return _Assets; } set { _Assets = value; } } private IList<Theme> _Themes = new List<Theme>(); [IgnoreDataMember] [System.Xml.Serialization.XmlIgnore] public IList<Theme> Themes { get { return _Themes; } set { _Themes = value; } } private IList<Affinity> _Affinity = new List<Affinity>(); [IgnoreDataMember] [System.Xml.Serialization.XmlIgnore] public IList<Affinity> Affinity { get { return _Affinity; } set { _Affinity = value; } } private IList<Word> _Words = new List<Word>(); [IgnoreDataMember] [System.Xml.Serialization.XmlIgnore] public IList<Word> Words { get { return _Words; } set { _Words = value; } } } using (global::NHibernate.ISession session = NHibernateApplication.GetCurrentSession()) { global::NHibernate.ICriteria criteria = session.CreateCriteria(typeof(ThemingJob)); global::NHibernate.ICriteria countCriteria = session.CreateCriteria(typeof(ThemingJob)); criteria.AddOrder(global::NHibernate.Criterion.Order.Desc("Id")); var qc = criteria.CreateCriteria("Query"); qc.SetFetchMode("Assets", global::NHibernate.FetchMode.Lazy); qc.SetFetchMode("Themes", global::NHibernate.FetchMode.Lazy); qc.SetFetchMode("Affinity", global::NHibernate.FetchMode.Lazy); qc.SetFetchMode("Words", global::NHibernate.FetchMode.Lazy); pageIndex = Convert.ToInt32(pageIndex) - 1; // convert to 0 based paging index criteria.SetMaxResults(pageSize); criteria.SetFirstResult(pageIndex * pageSize); countCriteria.SetProjection(global::NHibernate.Criterion.Projections.RowCount()); int totalRecords = (int)countCriteria.List()[0]; return criteria.List<ThemingJob>().ToPagedList<ThemingJob>(pageIndex, pageSize, totalRecords); }

  • NHibernate Tutorial Run-Time Error: HibernateException

    - by Kashif
    I'm a newbie at NHibernate so please go easy on me if I have asked a stupid question... I am following the tutorial for NHibernate posted here and am getting a run-time error of type "HibernateException" The code in question looks like this: using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Text; using FirstSolution; using NHibernate.Cfg; using NHibernate.Tool.hbm2ddl; using NUnit.Framework; namespace FirstSolution.Tests { [TestFixture] public class GenerateSchema_Fixture { [Test] public void Can_generate_schema() { var cfg = new Configuration(); cfg.Configure(); cfg.AddAssembly(typeof(Product).Assembly); new SchemaExport(cfg).Execute(false, true, false); } } } The line I am getting the error at is: cfg.AddAssembly(typeof(Product).Assembly); The inner-most exception is: The IDbCommand and IDbConnection implementation in the assembly System.Data.SqlServerCe could not be found And here's my stack trace: at NHibernate.Connection.ConnectionProvider.ConfigureDriver(IDictionary`2 settings) at NHibernate.Connection.ConnectionProvider.Configure(IDictionary`2 settings) at NHibernate.Connection.ConnectionProviderFactory.NewConnectionProvider(IDictionary`2 settings) at NHibernate.Tool.hbm2ddl.SchemaExport.Execute(Action`1 scriptAction, Boolean export, Boolean justDrop) at NHibernate.Tool.hbm2ddl.SchemaExport.Execute(Boolean script, Boolean export, Boolean justDrop) at FirstSolution.Tests.GenerateSchema_Fixture.Can_generate_schema() in C:\Users\Kash\Documents\Visual Studio 2010\Projects\FirstSolution\FirstSolution\GenerateSchema_Fixture.cs:line 23 at HibernateUnitTest.Form1.button1_Click(Object sender, EventArgs e) in C:\Users\Kash\Documents\Visual Studio 2010\Projects\FirstSolution\HibernateUnitTest\Form1.cs:line 23 at System.Windows.Forms.Control.OnClick(EventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.Button.OnClick(EventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.Button.OnMouseUp(MouseEventArgs mevent) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WmMouseUp(Message& m, MouseButtons button, Int32 clicks) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.ButtonBase.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Button.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.OnMessage(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow.DebuggableCallback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam) at System.Windows.Forms.UnsafeNativeMethods.DispatchMessageW(MSG& msg) at System.Windows.Forms.Application.ComponentManager.System.Windows.Forms.UnsafeNativeMethods.IMsoComponentManager.FPushMessageLoop(IntPtr dwComponentID, Int32 reason, Int32 pvLoopData) at System.Windows.Forms.Application.ThreadContext.RunMessageLoopInner(Int32 reason, ApplicationContext context) at System.Windows.Forms.Application.ThreadContext.RunMessageLoop(Int32 reason, ApplicationContext context) at System.Windows.Forms.Application.Run(Form mainForm) at HibernateUnitTest.Program.Main() in C:\Users\Kash\Documents\Visual Studio 2010\Projects\FirstSolution\HibernateUnitTest\Program.cs:line 18 at System.AppDomain._nExecuteAssembly(RuntimeAssembly assembly, String[] args) at System.AppDomain.ExecuteAssembly(String assemblyFile, Evidence assemblySecurity, String[] args) at Microsoft.VisualStudio.HostingProcess.HostProc.RunUsersAssembly() at System.Threading.ThreadHelper.ThreadStart_Context(Object state) at System.Threading.ExecutionContext.Run(ExecutionContext executionContext, ContextCallback callback, Object state, Boolean ignoreSyncCtx) at System.Threading.ExecutionContext.Run(ExecutionContext executionContext, ContextCallback callback, Object state) at System.Threading.ThreadHelper.ThreadStart() I've made sure that System.Data.SqlServerCe has been referenced and that its Copy Local property is set to True. • Fluent nHibernate - How to map a non-key column on an association table?

    - by The Matt
    Taking an example that is provided on the Fluent nHibernate website, I need to extend it slightly: I need to add a 'Quantity' column to the StoreProduct table. How would I map this using nHibernate? An example mapping is provided for the given scenario above, but I'm not sure how I would get the Quantity column to map: public class StoreMap : ClassMap<Store> { public StoreMap() { Id(x => x.Id); Map(x => x.Name); HasMany(x => x.Employee) .Inverse() .Cascade.All(); HasManyToMany(x => x.Products) .Cascade.All() .Table("StoreProduct"); } }

  • How do I tell NHibernate to load a component as not null even when all its properties are null?

    - by SharePoint Newbie
    Hi, I have a Date class which wraps over the DateTime? class (aids in mocking DateTime.Now, our domain ,etc). The Date class class only has one protected property : DateTime? date public class Date { protected DateTime? date; } // mapping in hbm <component name="CompletedOn"> <property column="StartedOn" name="date" access="field" not-null="false" /> </component> From the nhibernate docs: Like all value types, components do not support shared references. The null value semantics of a component are ad hoc. When reloading the containing object, NHibernate will assume that if all component columns are null, then the entire component is null. This should be okay for most purposes. Can I override this behaviour? I want my Date class to be instantiated even if date is null. Thanks,

  • How do I create/use a Fluent NHibernate convention to automap UInt32 properties to an SQL Server 200

    - by dommer
    I'm trying to use a convention to map UInt32 properties to a SQL Server 2008 database. I don't seem to be able to create a solution based on existing web sources, due to updates in the way Fluent NHibernate works - i.e. examples are out of date. I'm trying to have NHibernate generate the schema (via ExposeConfiguration). I'm happy to have NHibernate map it to anything sensible (e.g. bigint). Here's my code as it currently stands (which, when I try to expose the schema, fails due to SQL Server not supporting UInt32). Apologies for the code being a little long, but I'm not 100% sure what is relevant to the problem, so I'm erring on the side of caution. Most of it is based on this post. The error reported is: System.ArgumentException : Dialect does not support DbType.UInt32 I think I'll need a relatively comprehensive example, as I don't seem to be able to pull the pieces together into a working solution, at present. FluentConfiguration configuration = Fluently.Configure() .Database(MsSqlConfiguration.MsSql2008 .ConnectionString(connectionString)) .Mappings(mapping => mapping.AutoMappings.Add( AutoMap.AssemblyOf<Product>() .Conventions.Add<UInt32UserTypeConvention>())); configuration.ExposeConfiguration(x => new SchemaExport(x).Create(false, true)); namespace NHibernateTest { public class UInt32UserTypeConvention : UserTypeConvention<UInt32UserType> { // Empty. } } namespace NHibernateTest { public class UInt32UserType : IUserType { // Public properties. public bool IsMutable { get { return false; } } public Type ReturnedType { get { return typeof(UInt32); } } public SqlType[] SqlTypes { get { return new SqlType[] { SqlTypeFactory.Int32 }; } } // Public methods. public object Assemble(object cached, object owner) { return cached; } public object DeepCopy(object value) { return value; } public object Disassemble(object value) { return value; } public new bool Equals(object x, object y) { return (x != null && x.Equals(y)); } public int GetHashCode(object x) { return x.GetHashCode(); } public object NullSafeGet(IDataReader rs, string[] names, object owner) { int? i = (int?)NHibernateUtil.Int32.NullSafeGet(rs, names[0]); return (UInt32?)i; } public void NullSafeSet(IDbCommand cmd, object value, int index) { UInt32? u = (UInt32?)value; int? i = (Int32?)u; NHibernateUtil.Int32.NullSafeSet(cmd, i, index); } public object Replace(object original, object target, object owner) { return original; } } }

  • why doesnt' nhibernate support this "exists in list" syntax ??

    - by ooo
    i have the following query and its failing in Nhibernate 3 LINQ witha a "Non supported" exception. Its similar to this question but this question was asked over a year ago so i am positive that the answer is out of date. My DB tables are: VacationRequest (id, personId) VacationRequestDate (id, vacationRequestId) Person (id, FirstName, LastName) My Entities are: VacationRequest (Person, IList) VacationRequestDate (VacationRequest, Date) Here is the query that is getting a "Non supported" Exception Session.Query<VacationRequestDate>() .Where(r => people .Contains(r.VacationRequest.Person, new PersonComparer())) .Fetch(r=>r.VacationRequest) .ToList(); is there a better way to write this that would be supported in Nhibernate? fyi . .the PersonComparer just compared person.Id

  • MSSQL Search Proper Names Full Text Index vs LIKE + SOUNDEX

    - by Matthew Talbert
    I have a database of names of people that has (currently) 35 million rows. I need to know what is the best method for quickly searching these names. The current system (not designed by me), simply has the first and last name columns indexed and uses "LIKE" queries with the additional option of using SOUNDEX (though I'm not sure this is actually used much). Performance has always been a problem with this system, and so currently the searches are limited to 200 results (which still takes too long to run). So, I have a few questions: Does full text index work well for proper names? If so, what is the best way to query proper names? (CONTAINS, FREETEXT, etc) Is there some other system (like Lucene.net) that would be better? Just for reference, I'm using Fluent NHibernate for data access, so methods that work will with that will be preferred. I'm using MS SQL 2008 currently.

  • How to secure an Internet-facing Elastic Search implementation in a shared hosting environment?

    - by casperOne
    (Originally asked on StackOverflow, and recommended that I move it here) I've been going over the documentation for Elastic Search and I'm a big fan and I'd like to use it to handle the search for my ASP.NET MVC app. That introduces a few interesting twists, however. If the ASP.NET MVC application was on a dedicated machine, it would be simple to spool up an instance of Elastic Search and use the TCP Transport to connect locally. However, I'm not on a dedicated machine for the ASP.NET MVC application, nor does it look like I'll move to one anytime soon. That leaves hosting Elastic Search on another machine (in the *NIX world) and I would probably go with shared hosting there. One of the biggest things lacking from Elastic Search, however, is the fact that it doesn't support HTTPS and basic authentication out of the box. If it did, then this question wouldn't exist; I'd simply host it somewhere and make sure to have an incredibly secure password and HTTPS enabled (possibly with a self-signed certificate). But that's not the case. That given, what is a good way to expose Elastic Search over the Internet in a secure way? Note, I'm looking for something that hopefully, will not require writing code to provide shims for the methods that I want (in other words, writing forwarders).

  • Modify PHP Search Script to Handle Multiple Entries For a Single Input

    - by Thomas
    I need to modify a php search script so that it can handle multiple entries for a single field. The search engine is designed for a real estate website. The current search form allows users to search for houses by selecting a single neighborhood from a dropdown menu. Instead of a dropdown menu, I would like to use a list of checkboxes so that the the user can search for houses in multiple neighborhoods at one time. I have converted all of the dropdown menu items into checkboxes on the HTML side but the PHP script only searches for houses in the last checkbox selected. For example, if I selected: 'Dallas' 'Boston' 'New York' the search engine will only search for houses in New York. Im new to PHP, so I am a little at a loss as to how to modify this script to handle the behavior I have described: <?php require_once(dirname(__FILE__).'/extra_search_fields.php'); //Add Widget for configurable search. add_action('plugins_loaded',array('DB_CustomSearch_Widget','init')); class DB_CustomSearch_Widget extends DB_Search_Widget { function DB_CustomSearch_Widget($params=array()){ DB_CustomSearch_Widget::__construct($params); } function __construct($params=array()){ $this->loadTranslations(); • Indexing community images for google image search

    - by Vittorio Vittori
    Hi, I'm trying to understand how can I do to let my site be reachable from google image search spiders. I like how last.fm solution, and I thought to use a technique like his staff do to let google find artists images on their pages. When I'm looking for an artist and I search it on google image search, as often as not I find an image from last.fm artists page, I make an example: If I search the band Pure Reason Revolution It brings me here, the artist's image page http://www.last.fm/music/Pure+Reason+Revolution/+images/4284073 Now if I take a look to the image file, i can see it's named: http://userserve-ak.last.fm/serve/500/4284073/Pure+Reason+Revolution+4.jpg so if I try to undertand how the service works I can try to say: http://userserve-ak.last.fm/serve/ the server who serve the images 500/ the selected size for the image 4284073/ the image id for database Pure+Reason+Revolution+4.jpg the image name I thought it's difficult to think the real filename for the image is Pure+Reason+Revolution+4.jpg for image overwrite problems when an user upload it, in fact if I digit: http://userserve-ak.last.fm/serve/500/4284073.jpg I probably find the real image location and filename With this tecnique the image is highly reachable from search engines and easily archived. My question is, does exist some guide or tutorial to approach on this kind of tecniques, or something similar?

  • Reverse search in Hibernate Search

    - by Javi
    Hello, I'm using Hibernate Search (which uses Lucene) for searching some Data I have indexed in a directory. It works fine but I need to do a reverse search. By reverse search I mean that I have a list of queries stored in my database I need to check which one of these queries match with a Data object each time Data Object is created. I need it to alert the user when a Data Object matches with a Query he has created. So I need to index this single Data Object which has just been created and see which queries of my list has this object as a result. I've seen Lucene MemoryIndex Class to create an index in memory so I can do something like this example for every query in a list (though iterating in a Java list of queries would not be very efficient): //Iterating over my list<Query> MemoryIndex index = new MemoryIndex(); //Add all fields index.addField("myField", "myFieldData", analyzer); ... QueryParser parser = new QueryParser("myField", analyzer); float score = index.search(query); if (score > 0.0f) { System.out.println("it's a match"); } else { System.out.println("no match found"); } The problem here is that this Data Class has several Hibernate Search Annotations @Field,@IndexedEmbedded,... which indicated how fields should be indexed, so when I invoke index() method on the FullTextEntityManager instance it uses this information to index the object in the directory. Is there a similar way to index it in memory using this information? Is there a more efficient way of doing this reverse search? Thanks

  • Search a string to find which records in table are inside said string

    - by Improfane
    Hello, Say I have a string. Then I have a number of unique tokens or keywords, potentially a large number in a database. I want to search and find out which of these database strings are inside the string I provide (and get the IDs of them). Is there a way of using a query to search the provided string or must it be taken to application space? Am I right in thinking that this is not a 'full text search'? Would the best method be to insert it into the database to make it a full text search?

  • PHP 'smart' search engine to search Mysql tables advice

    - by Anonymous12345
    I am creating a search engine for my php based website. I need to search a mysql table. Thing is, the search engine must be pretty 'smart', so that users can easily find their items (it's a classifieds website). I have currently set up a FULLTEXT search with this piece of code: MATCH (headline) AGAINST ($querystring) But this isn't enough... For instance, lets say the field headline contains something like Bmw 330ci. If I search for 330, I wont get any results. The ending ('ci') is just one of many endings in car models which must be taken into account when searching the table. Or what if the headline field is bmw330? Also no results, because it only matches full words. Or also, what if the headline is bmw 330, and I search for bmw 520, still with FULLTEXT I will get the bmw 330 as a result, even though I searched for bmw 520... Not good! How should I solve this problem?

  • With NHibernate, how can I add a child object when updating a parent object?

    - by BMZ
    I have a simple Parent/Child relationship between a Person object and an Address object. The Person object exists in the DB. After doing a Get on the Person, I add a new Address object to the Address sub-object list of the parent, and do some other updates to the Person object. Finally, I do an Update on the Person object. With a SQL trace window, I can see the update to the Person object to the Person table and the Insert of the Address record to the Address table. The issue is that, after the update is performed, the AddressId (primary key on the Address object) is still set to 0, which is what it defaults to when you first initialize the Address object. I have verified that when I do an Add, this value is set correctly. Is this a known issue when trying to add sub-objects as part of an NHibernate UPDATE? Sample code and mapping files are below Thanks <hibernate-mapping xmlns="urn:nhibernate-mapping-2.2"> <class name="BusinessEntities.Wellness.Person,BusinessEntities.Wellness" table="Person" lazy="true" dynamic-insert="true" dynamic-update="false"> <id name="Personid" column="PersonID" type="int"> <generator class="native" /> </id> <version type="binary" generated="always" name="RecordVersion" column="`RecordVersion`"/> <property type="int" not-null="true" name="Customerid" column="`CustomerID`" /> <property type="AnsiString" not-null="true" length="9" name="Ssn" column="`SSN`" /> <property type="AnsiString" not-null="true" length="30" name="FirstName" column="`FirstName`" /> <property type="AnsiString" not-null="true" length="35" name="LastName" column="`LastName`" /> <property type="AnsiString" length="1" name="MiddleInitial" column="`MiddleInitial`" /> <property type="DateTime" name="DateOfBirth" column="`DateOfBirth`" /> <bag name="PersonAddresses" inverse="true" lazy="true" cascade="all"> <key column="PersonID" /> <one-to-many class="BusinessEntities.Wellness.PersonAddress,BusinessEntities.Wellness" / </bag> </class> </hibernate-mapping> <hibernate-mapping xmlns="urn:nhibernate-mapping-2.2"> <class name="BusinessEntities.Wellness.PersonAddress,BusinessEntities.Wellness" table="PersonAddress" lazy="true" dynamic-insert="true" dynamic-update="false"> <id name="PersonAddressId" column="PersonAddressID" type="int"> <generator class="native" /> </id> <version type="binary" generated="always" name="RecordVersion" column="`RecordVersion`" /> <property type="AnsiString" not-null="true" length="1" name="AddressTypeid" column="`AddressTypeID`" /> <property type="AnsiString" not-null="true" length="60" name="AddressLine1" column="`AddressLine1`" /> <property type="AnsiString" length="60" name="AddressLine2" column="`AddressLine2`" /> <property type="AnsiString" length="60" name="City" column="`City`" /> <property type="AnsiString" length="2" name="UsStateId" column="`USStateID`" /> <property type="AnsiString" length="5" name="UsPostalCodeId" column="`USPostalCodeID`" /> <many-to-one name="Person" cascade="none" column="PersonID" /> </class> </hibernate-mapping> Person newPerson = new Person(); newPerson.PersonName = "John Doe"; newPerson.SSN = "111111111"; newPerson.CreatedBy = "RJC"; newPerson.CreatedDate = DateTime.Today; personDao.AddPerson(newPerson); Person updatePerson = personDao.GetPerson(newPerson.PersonId); updatePerson.PersonAddresses = new List<PersonAddress>(); PersonAddress addr = new PersonAddress(); addr.AddressLine1 = "1 Main St"; addr.City = "Boston"; addr.State = "MA"; addr.Zip = "12345"; updatePerson.PersonAddresses.Add(addr); personDao.UpdatePerson(updatePerson); int addressID = updatePerson.PersonAddresses[0].AddressId;

  • SQL Server Search Proper Names Full Text Index vs LIKE + SOUNDEX

I'm using SQL Server 2008 currently. EDIT I want to add that I'm very interested in solutions that will deal with things like commonly misspelled names, eg 'smythe', 'smith', as well as first names, eg 'tomas', 'thomas'. Query Plan |--Parallelism(Gather Streams) |--Nested Loops(Inner Join, OUTER REFERENCES:([testdb].[dbo].[Test].[Id], [Expr1004]) OPTIMIZED WITH UNORDERED PREFETCH) |--Hash Match(Inner Join, HASH:([testdb].[dbo].[Test].[Id])=([testdb].[dbo].[Test].[Id])) | |--Bitmap(HASH:([testdb].[dbo].[Test].[Id]), DEFINE:([Bitmap1003])) | | |--Parallelism(Repartition Streams, Hash Partitioning, PARTITION COLUMNS:([testdb].[dbo].[Test].[Id])) | | |--Index Seek(OBJECT:([testdb].[dbo].[Test].[IX_Test_LastName]), SEEK:([testdb].[dbo].[Test].[LastName] >= 'WHITDþ' AND [testdb].[dbo].[Test].[LastName] < 'WHITF'), WHERE:([testdb].[dbo].[Test].[LastName] like 'WHITE%') ORDERED FORWARD) | |--Parallelism(Repartition Streams, Hash Partitioning, PARTITION COLUMNS:([testdb].[dbo].[Test].[Id])) | |--Index Seek(OBJECT:([testdb].[dbo].[Test].[IX_Test_FirstName]), SEEK:([testdb].[dbo].[Test].[FirstName] >= 'THOMARþ' AND [testdb].[dbo].[Test].[FirstName] < 'THOMAT'), WHERE:([testdb].[dbo].[Test].[FirstName] like 'THOMAS%' AND PROBE([Bitmap1003],[testdb].[dbo].[Test].[Id],N'[IN ROW]')) ORDERED FORWARD) |--Clustered Index Seek(OBJECT:([testdb].[dbo].[Test].[PK__TEST__3214EC073B95D2F1]), SEEK:([testdb].[dbo].[Test].[Id]=[testdb].[dbo].[Test].[Id]) LOOKUP ORDERED FORWARD) SQL for above: SELECT * FROM testdb.dbo.Test WHERE LastName LIKE 'WHITE%' AND FirstName LIKE 'THOMAS%' Based on advice from Mitch, I created an index like this: CREATE INDEX IX_Test_Name_DOB ON Test (LastName ASC, FirstName ASC, BirthDate ASC) INCLUDE (and here I list the other columns) My searches are now incredibly fast for my typical search (last, first, and birth date).

  • URL blocked in robots.txt but still showing up on Google search [closed]

    - by Ahmad Alfy
    Possible Duplicate: Why do Google search results include pages disallowed in robots.txt? In my robots.txt I am disallowing a lot of URLs. Google webmaster tools says there're +750 URL blocked. The problem is the URLs are still showing on Google search. For example I have the following rule: Disallow: /entity/child-health/ But when I search some-keyword + child health the following URL shows up : http://www.sitename.com/entity/child-health/ Am I doing anything wrong? Is is possible for a URL to be blocked using robots.txt and still show up on search results?

  • Odd Search resaults

    - by Alex
    It was brought to my attention that if you search for the name of one of our directors (with the intent to find there profile page on our site) They come up as the first link in most search engines as you would expect but the link text is just pure spam. the three search string I have tested on Google, Bing, Ask, and Yahoo have all returned similar results. Here is a list of the search strings: Paolo rossi futex Mark rossi futex Marco rossi futex Dan Goldberg futex Any idea what might be causing this I have searched through as much of the sites code as I can and cant find anything wrong with it.
