  • How to pass bash script arguments to a subshell

    - by Ralf Holly
I have a wrapper script that does some work and then passes the original parameters on to another tool: #!/bin/bash # ... other_tool -a -b "$@" This works fine, unless the "other tool" is run in a subshell: #!/bin/bash # ... bash -c "other_tool -a -b $@" If I call my wrapper script like this: wrapper.sh -x "blah blup" then, only the first orginal argument (-x) is handed to "other_tool". In reality, I do not create a subshell, but pass the original arguments to a shell on an Android phone, which shouldn't make any difference: #!/bin/bash # ... adb sh -c "other_tool -a -b $@"

  • Digest authentication not working: endless cycles of asking for user/pass

    - by bcmcfc
I'm trying to setup my SVN repository for access remotely. In doing so I have some settings under Apache's dav_svn.conf file. When navigating to hostname/svn, or using Tortoise to do the same it prompts for the user name and password as expected. However, when entering the correct user name and pass that were set in the password file linked to under AuthUserFile it just asks for the credentials again. I think I'm probably missing something simple? The server is running Ubuntu Server 9.10. Accessing SVN remotely does currently work if the authentication lines of dav_svn.conf are commented out. These are the contents of the dav_svn.conf file: <Location /svn> DAV svn SVNPath /home/svn/repo AuthType Digest AuthName "Subversion Repository" AuthDigestDomain /svn/ AuthUserFile /etc/svn_authfile Require valid-user </Location>

  • How to pass an IP address to inet_addr?

    - by November
    I can't seem to pass an IP address to inet_addr. I have gone through the debug but I still can't figure out why this won't work. printf("Server IP\nIP:"); scanf("%s",cmdPtr); //Bind socket address.sin_family = AF_INET; address.sin_addr.s_addr = inet_addr(&cmdPtr); address.sin_port = htonl(SERVER_PORT); lenC = sizeof(address); if (connect(sdC, (struct sockaddr *) &address , lenC) < 0) { perror("Could not bind Socket\n"); return -1; }

  • Pass quoted argument string to Start-Process in PowerShell

    - by Luke Puplett
Hello I'm trying to very simply run an executable and pass a file path in as the first argument. In DOS, this would be the command: import.exe "C:\Some Path\With\Spaces.txt" By placing the path in quotes, the path is correctly parsed as the first token into the executable. In PowerShell I'm using this: $feeds = dir 'T:\Documents\Company\Product Development\Data foreach ($feed in $feeds) { start -FilePath import.exe -ArgumentList $feed.FullName } The problem with the Start-Process cmdlet in PowerShell is that it uses a string array for arguments, so the path is broken up and sent to the executable as separate tokens. Quotes in PowerShell force $feed.FullName to be treated literally. Double quotes "" make PowerShell not see anything in the argument list. "The argument is null or empty." it tells me. I expect that this is a known headache and has had a known workaround from day one. Thanks Luke

  • How to pass a filename by drag-and-drop to a shortcut in Windows

    - by Kendall Frey
I have a program program.exe and a document document.txt, and to open the document, I can drag document.txt onto program.exe. So far so good. Now I want to call it with a command-line parameter -param so that the full command line is program.exe -param document.txt Unfortunately, I can't do this with drag and drop, so I need to fire up cmd and type in the command manually. This takes too long, and I need an easier way. How can I create a shortcut that I can drop the file onto, and have it call the program with the command-line parameter? I tried setting the shortcut to program.exe -param "%1", but that didn't work, because it appeared to pass only the file name, and not the path, and since the current directory was the one with the program and not the one with the document, it couldn't find the document.

  • haproxy - pass original / remote ip in tcp mode

    - by Vito Botta
I've got haproxy set up with keepalived for load balancing and ip failover of a percona cluster, and since it works great I'd like to use the same lb / failover for another service/daemon. I've configured haproxy this way: listen my_service 0.0.0.0:4567 mode tcp balance leastconn option tcpka contimeout 500000 clitimeout 500000 srvtimeout 500000 server host1 xxx.xxx.xxx.xx1:4567 check port 4567 inter 5000 rise 3 fall 3 server host2 xxx.xxx.xxx.xx2:4567 check port 4567 inter 5000 rise 3 fall 3 The load balancing works fine, but the service sees the IP of the load balancer instead of the actual IPs of the clients. In http mode it's quite easy to have haproxy pass along the remote IP, but how do I do in tcp mode? This is critical due to the nature of the service I need to load balance. Thanks! Vito

  • Ubuntu VPN Server (PPTPD) Configuration - Pass Traffic to Internet

    - by SnAzBaZ
I am trying to configure PPTPD on my Ubuntu box to pass all VPN traffic through to it's internet connection, so I essentially want it to work like a Proxy. I think the problem is that no default gateway is being assigned to my PPTP client (Windows 7). I can connect to the VPN fine, I get an IP address and DNS servers but no default gateway. Do I need to configure a specific option to tell the VPN server to forward all traffic it receives down it's eth0 port and out to the internet. Thanks!

  • Help me upgrade my pf.conf for OpenBSD 4.7

    - by polemon
I'm planning on upgrading my OpenBSD to 4.7 (from 4.6) and as you may or may not know, they changed the syntax for pf.conf. This is the relevant portion from the upgrade guide: pf(4) NAT syntax change As described in more detail in this mailing list post, PF's separate nat/rdr/binat (translation) rules have been replaced with actions on regular match/filter rules. Simple rulesets may be converted like this: nat on $ext_if from 10/8 -> ($ext_if) rdr on $ext_if to ($ext_if) -> 1.2.3.4 becomes match out on $ext_if from 10/8 nat-to ($ext_if) match in on $ext_if to ($ext_if) rdr-to 1.2.3.4 and... binat on $ext_if from $web_serv_int to any -> $web_serv_ext becomes match on $ext_if from $web_serv_int to any binat-to $web_serv_ext nat-anchor and/or rdr-anchor lines, e.g. for relayd(8), ftp-proxy(8) and tftp-proxy(8), are no longer used and should be removed from pf.conf(5), leaving only the anchor lines. Translation rules relating to these and spamd(8) will need to be adjusted as appropriate. N.B.: Previously, translation rules had "stop at first match" behaviour, with binat being evaluated first, followed by nat/rdr depending on direction of the packet. Now the filter rules are subject to the usual "last match" behaviour, so care must be taken with rule ordering when converting. pf(4) route-to/reply-to syntax change The route-to, reply-to, dup-to and fastroute options in pf.conf move to filteropts; pass in on $ext_if route-to (em1 192.168.1.1) from 10.1.1.1 pass in on $ext_if reply-to (em1 192.168.1.1) to 10.1.1.1 becomes pass in on $ext_if from 10.1.1.1 route-to (em1 192.168.1.1) pass in on $ext_if to 10.1.1.1 reply-to (em1 192.168.1.1) Now, this is my current pf.conf: # $OpenBSD: pf.conf,v 1.38 2009/02/23 01:18:36 deraadt Exp $ # # See pf.conf(5) for syntax and examples; this sample ruleset uses # require-order to permit mixing of NAT/RDR and filter rules. # Remember to set net.inet.ip.forwarding=1 and/or net.inet6.ip6.forwarding=1 # in /etc/sysctl.conf if packets are to be forwarded between interfaces. ext_if="pppoe0" int_if="nfe0" int_net="192.168.0.0/24" polemon="192.168.0.10" poletopw="192.168.0.12" segatop="192.168.0.20" table <leechers> persist set loginterface $ext_if set skip on lo match on $ext_if all scrub (no-df max-mss 1440) altq on $ext_if priq bandwidth 950Kb queue {q_pri, q_hi, q_std, q_low} queue q_pri priority 15 queue q_hi priority 10 queue q_std priority 7 priq(default) queue q_low priority 0 nat-anchor "ftp-proxy/*" rdr-anchor "ftp-proxy/*" nat on $ext_if from !($ext_if) -> ($ext_if) rdr pass on $int_if proto tcp to port ftp -> 127.0.0.1 port 8021 rdr pass on $ext_if proto tcp to port 2080 -> $segatop port 80 rdr pass on $ext_if proto tcp to port 2022 -> $segatop port 22 rdr pass on $ext_if proto tcp to port 4000 -> $polemon port 4000 rdr pass on $ext_if proto tcp to port 6600 -> $polemon port 6600 anchor "ftp-proxy/*" block pass on $int_if queue(q_hi, q_pri) pass out on $ext_if queue(q_std, q_pri) pass out on $ext_if proto icmp queue q_pri pass out on $ext_if proto {tcp, udp} to any port ssh queue(q_hi, q_pri) pass out on $ext_if proto {tcp, udp} to any port http queue(q_std, q_pri) #pass out on $ext_if proto {tcp, udp} all queue(q_low, q_hi) pass out on $ext_if proto {tcp, udp} from <leechers> queue(q_low, q_std) pass in on $ext_if proto tcp to ($ext_if) port ident queue(q_hi, q_pri) pass in on $ext_if proto tcp to ($ext_if) port ssh queue(q_hi, q_pri) pass in on $ext_if proto tcp to ($ext_if) port http queue(q_hi, q_pri) pass in on $ext_if inet proto icmp all icmp-type echoreq queue q_pri If someone has experience with porting the 4.6 pf.conf to 4.7, please help me do the correct changes. OK, this is how far I've got: I commented out nat-anchor and rdr-anchor, as describted in the guide: #nat-anchor "ftp-proxy/*" #rdr-anchor "ftp-proxy/*" And this is how I've "converted" the rdr rules: #nat on $ext_if from !($ext_if) -> ($ext_if) match out on $ext_if from !($ext_if) nat-to ($ext_if) #rdr pass on $int_if proto tcp to port ftp -> 127.0.0.1 port 8021 match in on $int_if proto tcp to port ftp rdr-to 127.0.0.1 port 8021 #rdr pass on $ext_if proto tcp to port 2080 -> $segatop port 80 match in on $ext_if proto tcp tp port 2080 rdr-to $segatop port 80 #rdr pass on $ext_if proto tcp to port 2022 -> $segatop port 22 match in on $ext_if proto tcp tp port 2022 rdr-to $segatop port 22 rdr pass on $ext_if proto tcp to port 4000 -> $polemon port 4000 match in on $ext_if proto tcp tp port 4000 rdr-to $polemon port 4000 rdr pass on $ext_if proto tcp to port 6600 -> $polemon port 6600 match in on $ext_if proto tcp tp port 6600 rdr-to $polemon port 6600 Did I miss anything? Is the anchor for ftp-proxy OK as it is now? Do I need to change something in the other pass in on... lines?

  • How to pass parameters to a function?

    - by sbi
I need to process an SVN working copy in a PS script, but I have trouble passing arguments to functions. Here's what I have: function foo($arg1, $arg2) { echo $arg1 echo $arg2.FullName } echo "0: $($args[0])" echo "1: $($args[1])" $items = get-childitem $args[1] $items | foreach-object -process {foo $args[0] $_} I want to pass $arg[0] as $arg1 to foo, and $arg[1] as $arg2. However, it doesn't work, for some reason $arg1 is always empty: PS C:\Users\sbi> .\test.ps1 blah .\Dropbox 0: blah 1: .\Dropbox C:\Users\sbi\Dropbox\Photos C:\Users\sbi\Dropbox\Public C:\Users\sbi\Dropbox\sbi PS C:\Users\sbi> Note: The "blah"parameter isn't passed as $arg1. I am absolutely sure this is something hilariously simple (I only just started with doing PS and still feel very clumsy), but I have banged my head against this for more than an hour now, and I can't find anything.

I am struggling with a redirection rule. I am now running my Redmine in webrick in port 3000 and proxy-pass it. The URL of my Redmine is xyz.example.com. I also want to redirect the Redmine using the URL: abc.example.com. I added the server alias but no redirection taking place. Here is my configuration: <VirtualHost *:80> ServerName xyz.example.com ServerAlias abc.examle.com ProxyPass / h://local:3000/ ProxyPassReverse / h://local:3000/ </VirtualHost>

  • Pass parameters to a script securely

    - by codeholic
What is the best way to pass parameters to a forked script securely? E. g. passing parameters through command line operands is not secure, since someone who has an account on the host can run ps and see them. Unnamed pipe is quite secure, as far as I understand, isn't it? I mean, passing parameters to STDIN of the forked process. What about passing parameters in environment vars? Is it secure? What about passing parameters by other means I didn't mention?

  • WCF how to pass token for authentication?

    - by Kevin
I have a WCF service which would like to support basicHttpBinding and webHttpBinding. When the client successfully login, server will generate a token for client to pass to server on all the request make later. Question is how the client can pass the token to server? I don't want to add an extra parameter on every web method to hold the token.

  • How to I pass @selector as a parameter?

    - by erotsppa
For the method [NSThread detachNewThreadSelector:@selector(method:) toTarget:self withObject:(id)SELECTOR]; How do I pass in a @selector? I tried casting it to (id) to make it compile but it crashes in runtime. More specifically, I have a method like this +(void)method1:(SEL)selector{ [NSThread detachNewThreadSelector:@selector(method2:) toTarget:self withObject:selector]; } it crashes, how do I pass in the selector without crashing? So that the new thread can call the selector when the thread is ready?

  • Autocorrelation returns random results with mic input (using a high pass filter)

    - by Niall
Hello, Sorry to ask a similar question to the one i asked before (FFT Problem (Returns random results)), but i've looked up pitch detection and autocorrelation and have found some code for pitch detection using autocorrelation. Im trying to do pitch detection of a users singing. Problem is, it keeps returning random results. I've got some code from http://code.google.com/p/yaalp/ which i've converted to C++ and modified (below). My sample rate is 2048, and data size is 1024. I'm detecting pitch of both a sine wave and mic input. The frequency of the sine wave is 726.0, and its detecting it to be 722.950820 (which im ok with), but its detecting the pitch of the mic as a random number from around 100 to around 1050. I'm now using a High pass filter to remove the DC offset, but it's not working. Am i doing it right, and if so, what else can i do to fix it? Any help would be greatly appreciated! double* doHighPassFilter(short *buffer) { // Do FFT: int bufferLength = 1024; float *real = malloc(bufferLength*sizeof(float)); float *real2 = malloc(bufferLength*sizeof(float)); for(int x=0;x<bufferLength;x++) { real[x] = buffer[x]; } fft(real, bufferLength); for(int x=0;x<bufferLength;x+=2) { real2[x] = real[x]; } for (int i=0; i < 30; i++) //Set freqs lower than 30hz to zero to attenuate the low frequencies real2[i] = 0; // Do inverse FFT: inversefft(real2,bufferLength); double* real3 = (double*)real2; return real3; } double DetectPitch(short* data) { int sampleRate = 2048; //Create sine wave double *buffer = malloc(1024*sizeof(short)); double amplitude = 0.25 * 32768; //0.25 * max length of short double frequency = 726.0; for (int n = 0; n < 1024; n++) { buffer[n] = (short)(amplitude * sin((2 * 3.14159265 * n * frequency) / sampleRate)); } doHighPassFilter(data); printf("Pitch from sine wave: %f\n",detectPitchCalculation(buffer, 50.0, 1000.0, 1, 1)); printf("Pitch from mic: %f\n",detectPitchCalculation(data, 50.0, 1000.0, 1, 1)); return 0; } // These work by shifting the signal until it seems to correlate with itself. // In other words if the signal looks very similar to (signal shifted 200 data) than the fundamental period is probably 200 data // Note that the algorithm only works well when there's only one prominent fundamental. // This could be optimized by looking at the rate of change to determine a maximum without testing all periods. double detectPitchCalculation(double* data, double minHz, double maxHz, int nCandidates, int nResolution) { //-------------------------1-------------------------// // note that higher frequency means lower period int nLowPeriodInSamples = hzToPeriodInSamples(maxHz, 2048); int nHiPeriodInSamples = hzToPeriodInSamples(minHz, 2048); if (nHiPeriodInSamples <= nLowPeriodInSamples) printf("Bad range for pitch detection."); if (1024 < nHiPeriodInSamples) printf("Not enough data."); double *results = new double[nHiPeriodInSamples - nLowPeriodInSamples]; //-------------------------2-------------------------// for (int period = nLowPeriodInSamples; period < nHiPeriodInSamples; period += nResolution) { double sum = 0; // for each sample, find correlation. Do not use result array afterwards. int* findBestCandidates(int n, double* inputs, int length) { //int length = inputs.Length; if (length < n) printf("Length of inputs is not long enough."); int *res = new int[n]; double minValue = 0; for (int c = 0; c < n; c++) { // find the highest. double fBestValue = minValue; int nBestIndex = -1; for (int i = 0; i < length; i++) { if (inputs[i] > fBestValue) { nBestIndex = i; fBestValue = inputs[i]; } } // record this highest value res[c] = nBestIndex; // now blank out that index. if(nBestIndex!=-1) inputs[nBestIndex] = minValue; } return res; } int hzToPeriodInSamples(double hz, int sampleRate) { return (int)(1 / (hz / (double)sampleRate)); } double periodInSamplesToHz(int period, int sampleRate) { return 1 / (period / (double)sampleRate); } Thanks, Niall. Edit: Changed the code to implement a high pass filter with a cutoff of 30hz (from What Are High-Pass and Low-Pass Filters?, can anyone tell me how to convert the low-pass filter using convolution to a high-pass one?) but it's still returning random results. Plugging it into a VST host and using VST plugins to compare spectrums isn't an option to me unfortunately.

  • Possible to pass parameters to a skin?

I have 2 skins, almost identical, but differ in 1 small way that can be accounted for if I could pass a Boolean to the skin while assigning it to the host component (a button). <s:Button skinClass="MyBtnSkin" /> Is there a way while assigning the skin to the button, I could also pass a parameter to the skin somehow?
