• Moving Server to new Hardware - SBS 2008

  Hi, We have very quickly out-grown our Small Business Server 2008 current hardware and have decided to purchase a complete new server. What is the best and easiest way to move the server to new hardware? It is one complete box, we do not have any SAN's or any complicated setup. We do have a couple of SQL databases running on the server and we also use Exchange. I'm sure there must be some easy way to move everything :-)

  I have a windows server 2008 R2 standard edition. The system suddenly stopped accepting remote desktop connections. When I tried to connect directly to the console, I am unable to start any applications. I got errors "The page file is to small to complete the action". Under takmanager in performance the system shows "Commit(GB) 127/127". What does this imply? The system has 32 GB ram, 5 raid disks each 150 Gb

  I have a client who is using Windows Server 2008 (Small Business Server), and using Windows Backup. What I need to do is configure the backup task so that, upon completion, it sends an email notifying the client of backup success or failure. I have been able to find that task in task scheduler, and even see where I can send an email...but I cannot find a way to make the content of the email different based on success or failure of the backup. How might I do this?

• Want to turn old Powerbook Mac into small form factor desktop

  I've got an old powerbook g4. Battery is totally dead, as is the superdrive. I've looked into selling but it's worth less than it would cost to ship it safely. So I'm considering cracking it open and and taking it's parts and creating some kind of small form factor desktop, probably for the living room. I don't need an optical drive, I really just would like Mac OSX, without purchasing a Mac Mini. Anyone got any tips?

  Hi, We have a Small Business Server 2008, with about 50 users currently. Occasionally the IT team need to access users documents in order to merge folders together (Due to staff leaving) or need to access documents that have been lost. Even though we are logged in as the Administrator, we are unable to access users documents. Is there any way to modify the settings for all users, that will enable us to access users documents?   I need to create a large image (in filesize) using a small one as a source. Images on my website are being hotlinked and I'd like to get revenge. I want to replace the hotlinked images with one huge image (several megs in size) and serve that to them instead. I've found a good image, but it's less than 100kb, and I'm already using it to serve up to the hotlinkers. How can I convert this image to one that is several megs its current filesize?

  I'm having strange problem with my putty console. I'm establishing connection over ssh to my home computer [ windows 7 + freesshd server ]. Everything works just fine, but I'm getting this tiny screen with output, I can resize it of course, but the content is still in small box [ content doesn't resize ] I've tried to change the number of columns and rows in properties, but it didn't change anything.   I have recently got an intel ultrabook,but its screen size is 13.3' and the native resolution is 1600X900.So the problem is that the letters that appear on screen are very small.Reducing resolution blurs the display and making everything bigger also doesn't feel very good.is there a way to get around this problem without changing hardware. I am even ok with this high resolution but I am concerned about the harmful effects it might have on my eyes in long term. Any advice will be very useful.Please help

  I noticed that if I transfer a few LARGE files between two hard drives, it's pretty speedy around at least 30 MB per second but if I transfer thousands of files less than 5 KB, it is pretty damn too slow.. around 1 to 2 MB per second. Is there a way to speed up the copy/paste process with thousands of small files on Windows 7?

  I just purchased a new ultrabook (Asus UX32VD). Awesome laptop, but I am having trouble using it with its native resolution being 1920 x 1080. Text is so small and hard to read. I have increased the text size in the display options but it don't really improve it for all scenarios, especially in webpages. I am wondering if there is a possible solution to this? Simply lowering the resolution makes everything look pixelated.

  Hi all, I've been searching the internet for a while for this answer. I have a bunch of computers that are part of a small business server domain and would like to be able to connect to each one individually with remote desktop connection using a subdomain, like: computer1.mydomain.org computer2.mydomain.org etc... I can currently connect to the server easily using an A record with the subdomain pointing to the static IP address with home.mydomain.org, so computer1.home.mydomain.org would also be cool. Thanks!

  IT is a small area within the normal icons area on desktop of Windows 7 64bits version. It looks normal but when I try to click on it, it would have no response. If I move a folder on this area, then I cannot click on the folder. Even when there is nothing over there, when I click on it then it would not have any response like there should be a manual after clicking right button. What could be the problem?

I would like to see keyboard log of each worker computer from my laptop without disturbing my workers.
