  • After some wired flash out, I can't login to wmii any more, how to fix it?

    I've been using wmii on Ubuntu14.04(virtual machine on win7) for months. During which, I got pop out to login interface servaral times due to some wired mouse click action. But today, after I met such wired pop out, I can't login to wmii any more. I'll be stuck at the interface like The bottom yellow bar is the command area for wmii. but it has no response when I press Mod + p I restart my machine, and even reinstalled wmii, but everytime when I tried to login wmii, I stuck at that interface. By the way, I login to wmii from the login interface, where I can choose between Gnome and wmii. How to fix this? I'm crying for help! ps: I can login to gnome normally

  • Testing web applications written in java

    How do you test the web applications (both server side and client side code)? The testing method has to work irrespective of the framework used (struts, spring web mvc) etc. I am using Java for the server side code, Javascript and HTML for the client side code. This is the sample test case of what I am talking about: 1. When you click on a link, the pop up opens. 2. Change some value in the pop up (say a drop down value) and it gets saved in the DB. 3. Click the popup again, you get the changed values. Can we simulate this kind of thing using unit test cases? Is JUnit enough for this?

  • Ubuntu Wifi Not Connecting (And keeps asking for authentication every minute or so)

    This is a problem in 12.10 that has been driving me nuts, and it's a problem with the wifi. Ubuntu will never connect to the network. All of my other devices work fine. What will happen is I will type in the password, the authentication window will go away, and the Wifi icon will pulsate for a while. Then about a minute later, a window will pop up asking for authentication to join the same wifi network. If you type in the password again it will do the same thing, and even if you hit [Cancel], the window will still pop back up in another minute. This is a very irritating thing.

  • How do I duplicate a Box2d simulation, mid-simulation?

    I want to serialize the state mid-game, send it over the network to an identical computer (same CPU, same OS, same binary), load it there, and have the two games run in tandem doing the exact same simulation, without one of them drifting off and going haywire. In short: I want pop-in, pop-out networking support on my HIGHLY physics-intensive game, where sending object coordinates every few seconds is impossible, due to having thousands of objects, and many clients. I tried this with Box2D, and saving an object's location/velocity/etc wasn't enough... there's internal state that's not accessible through any public methods. My current workaround is to force EVERY client to save its entire worldstate and reload it from scratch, whenever a new player connects... but this is obviously bad practice, because it hangs the game for everyone whenever someone new connects. However, it works, with zero desynchronization. So, anyone know of any other techniques that can help me? Or should I just kiss my project goodbye?

  • Is there any way to customize the Windows 7 taskbar auto-hide behavior? Delay activation? Timer?

    I'm becoming increasingly frustrated with the way Windows 7 handles showing a hidden taskbar. It's incredibly over-eager to pop out and obscure what I'm really trying to interact with, requiring me to move the mouse away, wait for it to auto-hide again, then resume what I was doing but more deliberately. After closely examining the behavior, it appears that a hidden taskbar "peeks out" from the edge by 2 or 3 pixels, and slowly moving your mouse into this area activates it; you don't even need to touch the edge of the screen. I would love it if there was a way to customize or change this behavior. Ideally, the taskbar would only pop out if you are actively "pushing" the edge of the screen it is hidden on. So activation only occurs once you've reached the screens edge and continue to move the mouse past a customizable threshold. Alternatively, a simple activation delay would suffice as well. So only if the mouse remains in that 2-3 pixel area (a.k.a. on the taskbar) for greater than a customizable amount of time does it pop out again. This would only be a fraction of a second. Often times the cursor simply "careens" off the edge of the screen while trying to focus on something nearby. Anyway, if there are any registry settings or utilities that can achieve either of these effects, that would be great! Thanks for your help.

    Hi there, here's my situation : i've Plesk 8.3.0 with one IP and i've registered my domains at godaddy.com My problem : i cannot figure out how to configure plesk and godaddy to have my domains (6) properly working into the VPS. i've only one IP, so i can't have my personal NS and need to use godaddy ns. But.. how do i set all the stuff ? I've made a try but it's not working.   • Is there a way to tag MP3 the way you can do with Photos in Live Photo Gallery or Picazza?

    I really do love the way you can tag pictures in Windows Live Photo Gallery. I find it incredibly useful to be able to tag the same picture with the tag "Cancun" and have it been automatically included when I look for the tag "Beach", "Trips" and "Fun Pic", since its a child tag of the former and also has a tag for the later. I also like that I can look for rating in the pics. On the other side, tagging MP3 has always been a pain in the ass, because I just find it to hard to classify music! Is it pop? techno? techno-pop? rock? indie-rock? indie-post-classic-pop-techno? I hate how ID3 just have one tag for genre, so I've tried tricks like putting all the genres I think it fits into, and then having lists in Winamp (which I dont use anymore) that filter out words in the ID3 tags (ie, Tag: Genre, Contains: Rock = rock list). But then, what about moods? I want to be able to tag my songs in genres and in moods, you know, happy, concentrate/work, party, romantic (wink wink), etc. Is there any way to do this, preferably in a way in which tags could carry on to other music players?   • Reading email from Emacs VM using a secure server (Gmail)

One subject of the question is use of the program stunnel with program View Mail (run within Emacs) on a PC running Microsoft Windows, in order to read email from a server that requires use of TSL/SSL (Gmail). See the related question, How to configure Emacs smtp for secure server for using a secure server, for sending email. The programs discussed are Emacs, VM (ViewMail) and stunnel. The platform under discussion is MS Windows. The original question was asked by usr345 on 2010-04-24: I tried to install vm on Windows, but when I tried to get the mail from gmail using ssl, an error emerges, emacs hanges-up.   • Downloading Emails locally with Thunderbird

    I am using Gmail (web interface) for sometime now, and have well over 20 labels and some thousand mails there archived to different labels in Gmail. Now I want to have a local copy of all my mails and following points are important in the context: The Primary mail access mechanism would continue to be Gmail web for me. I just want a backup of my mail account locally. Ideally the mails should download locally in folders named after Gmail labels (I know this is possible via IMAP but probably not by POP) After all my mails are available locally, I will delete most of them in Gmail to free up space and because I want to archive them. The mails should continue to exist locally and should not be deleted when I delete when from Gmail web interface. I would be syncing my gmail account locally let's say every month. So, the new mails that I have sent/received during this period should come over to my local mailbox in the folders named after Gmail labels. I do understand that Gmail maintains a single copy of email having 2 different labels and such email would get duplicated locally in the 2 folders and I am okay with that. Essentially you can see I just want to archive my mails from the Gmail server to a local backup and then sync (one way from Gmail to locally) new mails at regular intervals. For some points above, POP seems to be the option while IMAP seems for the others. I am really confused and need help in deciding which of POP or IMAP would suit me best. I have currently chosen Thunderbird to be my local email client but would not have a problem switching to Outlook or anything else as long as I get my desired archiving functionality.

The problem is, that it seems to work fine in IE6 but in IE7 the pop up opens and then closes without displaying the file. Any one know whats wrong?

    I'm implementing the TTThumbsViewController from the Three20 project and things are finally starting to take shape. I push the TTThumbsViewController from the current view controller by just pushing it onto the current stack and animate the transition (common navigation controller push). My problem is that when I pop the TThumbsViewController view controller, the navigation controller is stuck in a mode where its view controllers are drawn UNDER the navigation bar (which is now translucent).   • Can a stack have an exception safe method for returning and removing the top element with move seman

    In an answer to a question about std::stack::pop() I claimed that the reason pop does not return the value is for exception safety reason (what happens if the copy constructor throws). @Konrad commented that now with move semantics this is no longer relevant. Is this true? AFAIK, move constructors can throw, but perhaps with noexcept it can still be achieved. For bonus points what thread safety guarantees can this operation supply?

  • Add Facebox To FullCalendar Events

    I have been trying to make the FullCalendar events use Facebox to pop up with information when they are clicked. I have no problem putting the events on the calendar or getting the information that needs to be displayed it is just getting the pop up box to work. I have tried adding rel="facebox" to both the "span" and the "a" that wraps the event title but neither seem to affect it. If anyone has tried this before or knows a possible solution I look forward to hearing from you.
