  • How do I put YAML code in GitHub MarkDown?

    - by rutherford
Following YAML snippet that I'm trying to place in my markdown formatted readme: ``` libraries: - name: numpy version: "1.6.1" ``` Tried the above with both no and 2 trailing spaces at the end of each line. Both turn out on a single line. Obviously I want them on 3 separate lines in my README.md. How? edit: note tried adding 'yaml' as the optional lang parameter but no dice either.

  • Should I expect to know a lot about every language I put on my resume as a college student?

    - by Newbie_code
If I am asked to program an algorithm, say binary search, in languages other than Java during an interview, I will have a hard time trying to remember the syntax. Is it okay to tell my interviewer that I can only code this in Java, because I have worked with other languages before but have not used them for a while? If not, what suggestions do you have (i.e. what languages and parts of those languages among these should I pick up the syntax of before my interview)?

  • Clustering on WebLogic exception on Failover

    - by Markos Fragkakis
Hi all, I deploy an application on a WebLogic 10.3.2 cluster with two nodes, and a load balancer in front of the cluster. I have set the <core:init distributable="true" debug="true" /> My Session and Conversation classes implement Serializable. I start using the application being served by the first node. The console shows that the session replication is working. <Jun 17, 2010 11:43:50 AM EEST> <Info> <Cluster> <BEA-000128> <Updating 5903057688359791237S:xxx.yyy.gr:[7002,7002,-1,-1,-1,-1,-1]:xxx.yyy.gr:7002,xxx.yyy.gr:7002:prs_domain:PRS_Server_2 in the cluster.> <Jun 17, 2010 11:43:50 AM EEST> <Info> <Cluster> <BEA-000128> <Updating 5903057688359791237S:xxx.yyy.gr:[7002,7002,-1,-1,-1,-1,-1]:xxx.yyy.gr:7002,xxx.yyy.gr:7002:prs_domain:PRS_Server_2 in the cluster.> When I shutdown the first node from the Administration console, I get this in the other node: <Jun 17, 2010 11:23:46 AM EEST> <Error> <Kernel> <BEA-000802> <ExecuteRequest failed java.lang.NullPointerException. java.lang.NullPointerException at org.jboss.seam.intercept.JavaBeanInterceptor.callPostActivate(JavaBeanInterceptor.java:165) at org.jboss.seam.intercept.JavaBeanInterceptor.invoke(JavaBeanInterceptor.java:73) at com.myproj.beans.SortingFilteringBean_$$_javassist_seam_2.sessionDidActivate(SortingFilteringBean_$$_javassist_seam_2.java) at weblogic.servlet.internal.session.SessionData.notifyActivated(SessionData.java:2258) at weblogic.servlet.internal.session.SessionData.notifyActivated(SessionData.java:2222) at weblogic.servlet.internal.session.ReplicatedSessionData.becomePrimary(ReplicatedSessionData.java:231) at weblogic.cluster.replication.WrappedRO.changeStatus(WrappedRO.java:142) at weblogic.cluster.replication.WrappedRO.ensureStatus(WrappedRO.java:129) at weblogic.cluster.replication.LocalSecondarySelector$ChangeSecondaryInfo.run(LocalSecondarySelector.java:542) at weblogic.work.SelfTuningWorkManagerImpl$WorkAdapterImpl.run(SelfTuningWorkManagerImpl.java:516) at weblogic.work.ExecuteThread.execute(ExecuteThread.java:201) at weblogic.work.ExecuteThread.run(ExecuteThread.java:173) > What am I doing wrong? • Should I put my output files in source control?

    - by sebastiaan
I've been asked to put every single file in my project under source control, including the database file (not the schema, the complete file). This seems wrong to me, but I can't explain it. Every resource I find about source control tells me not to put generated output files in a source control system. And I understand, it's not "source" files. However, I've been presented with the following reasoning: Who cares? We have plenty of bandwidth. I don't mind having to resolve a conflict each time I get the latest revision, it's just one click It's so much more convenient than having to think about good ignore files Also, if I have to add an external DLL file in the bin folder now, I can't forget to put it in source control, as the bin folder is not being ignored now. The simple solution for the last bullet-point is to add the file in a libraries folder and reference it from the project. Please explain if and why putting generated output files under source control is wrong.

  • In symfony/doctrine's schema.yml, where should I put onDelete: CASCADE for a many-to-many relationsh

    - by nselikoff
I have a many-to-many relationship defined in my Symfony (using doctrine) project between Orders and Upgrades (an Order can be associated with zero or more Upgrades, and an Upgrade can apply to zero or more Orders). # schema.yml Order: columns: order_id: {...} relations: Upgrades: class: Upgrade local: order_id foreign: upgrade_id refClass: OrderUpgrade Upgrade: columns: upgrade_id: {...} relations: Orders: class: Order local: upgrade_id foreign: order_id refClass: OrderUpgrade OrderUpgrade: columns: order_id: {...} upgrade_id: {...} I want to set up delete cascade behavior so that if I delete an Order or an Upgrade, all of the related OrderUpgrades are deleted. Where do I put onDelete: CASCADE? Usually I would put it at the end of the relations section, but that would seem to imply in this case that deleting Orders would cascade to delete Upgrades. Is Symfony + Doctrine smart enough to know what I'm wanting if I put onDelete: CASCADE in the above relations sections of schema.yml?

  • Is it inmoral to put a captcha on a login form?

    - by azkotoki
In a recent project I put a captcha test on a login form, in order to stop possible brute force attacks. The inmediate reaction of other coworkers was a request to remove it, saying that it was innapropiate for that purpose, and that it was quite exotic to see a captcha in that place. I've seen captcha images on signup, contact, password recovery forms, etc. So I personally don't see innapropiate to put a captcha also on a place like that. Well, it obviously burns down usability a little bit, but it's a matter of time and getting used to it. With the lack of a captcha test, one would have to put some sort of blacklist / account locking mechanism, which also has some drawbacks. Is it a good choice for you? Am I getting somewhat captcha-aholic and need some sort of group therapy? Thanks in advance.

  • Where to put a recursive function when following MVC?

    - by Glibly
Hello, I have a recursive function being used to generate a menu on my site. The function is calling a database for each level of children in the menu, and generating html for them. I've currently put this function in a Model part of the code, however, I feel that generating html in the model goes against the MVC. I didn't put it in a Controller because I didn't want to have database calls or HTML generation there. I didn't put it in a View because I didn't want database calls there either. Is the 'correct' way of tackling this problem to have a Controller call a recursive function in a Model that returns a 2d array representing the menu. Then pass the array to a view which has it's own recursive function for generating html from the array?

  • Should an edit of a comment be sent through POST or PUT?

    - by the_drow
I have the following URI: Posts/{postId}/Comments/{commentId} I would like to enable users to edit a comment through my API, should the edit be done with POST or PUT? One one hand, POST updates the contents of a resource so that makes sense but on the other hand PUT replaces it with a new one. So if I understand correctly with POST I need to send only what needs to be updates and with PUT I send the whole resource. Usually in edit forms, the whole resource is loaded anyway so what's the point of using POST? If I take one approach or the other, what are the differences?

  • Why do i need PUT or DELETE Http Verbs ?

    - by Barbaros Alp

  • How to force Json.Net to put an integer value into a string field?

    - by Earlz
Hello, in using Json.Net I have a class like this class Foo{ public string name; public string value; } and I have a JSON string that looks like this: [{"name": "some name","value": "1"}] The problem with this is that Json.Net detects "1" as being an integer(due to ambiguities with JSON) and will refuse to put it into the string value of Foo How can I override this behavior so that it will put the string "1" into value?

  • Where should I put the code for a Django admin action for a third party app?

    - by charlie
Hi, I'm new to Django. I am writing my own administrative action for a third party app/model, similar to this: http://mnjournal.com/post/2009/jul/10/adding-django-admin-actions-contrib-apps/ It's a simple snippet of code. I'm just wondering where people suggest that I put it. I don't want to put in the third party app because I might need to update to a newer version at some point. Thanks.

  • How do I put a listing of files into a menu?

    - by PandaNL
I have a folder with .txt files in it. How can i make my menuitem get those .txt files and put the filenames in the menuitem, so that it creates a list of all .txt files in that folder. So when i put a .txt in the folder the program automatically creates the menu item. Does someone knows how to do this, or perhaps an example?
