  • JavaScript To Clear Form Field On Submit Before Form Submission To Perl Script

    We have a very long form that has a number of fields and 2 different submit buttons. When a user clicks the 1st submit button ("Photo Search") the form should POST and our script will do a search for matching photos based on what the user entered in the text input ("photo_search_text") next to the 1st submit button and reload the entire form with matching photos added to the form. Upon clicking the 2nd submit button ("Save Changes") at the end of the form, it should POST and our script should update the database with the information the user entered in the form. Unfortunately the layout of the form makes it impossible to separate it into 2 separate forms. I checked the entire form POST and unfortunately the submitted fields are identical to the perl script processing the form submission no matter which submit button is clicked so the perl script can't differentiate which action to perform based on which submit button is pushed. The only thing I can think of is to update the onclick action of the 2nd submit button so it clears the "photo_search_text" field before the form is submitted and then only perform a photo search if that fields has a value. Based on all this, my question is what does the JavaScript look that could clear out the "photo_search_text" field when someone clicks on the 2nd submit button? Here is what I've tried so far none of which has worked successfully: <input type="submit" name="submit" onclick="document.update-form.photo_search_text.value='';" value="Save Changes"> <input type="submit" name="submit" onsubmit="document.update-form.photo_search_text.value='';" value="Save Changes"> <input type="submit" name="submit" onclick="document.getElementById('photo_search_text')='';" value="Save Changes"> We also use JQuery on the site so if there is a way to do this with jQuery instead of plain JavaScript feel free to provide example code for that instead.     I'm trying to get Zend_Mail to send an encapsulated message - as though it's forwarding an email. $attachedContent = "<h1>H1 Email</h1>"; $emailContent = "<h1>Email Content>"; $mail = new Zend_Mail(); $mail->setBodyText('text content'); $mail->setBodyHtml($emailContent); $mail->setFrom('[email protected]', 'GAS'); $mail->addTo('[email protected]', 'GAS'); $at = $mail->createAttachment($attachedContent); $at->type = 'message/rfc822; name="forwarded message"'; $at->disposition = Zend_Mime::DISPOSITION_INLINE; $at->encoding = Zend_Mime::ENCODING_7BIT; $mail->setSubject('Test'); $mail->send(); Mail clients are getting the email, rendering the normal HTML content, and displaying the forwarded message and rendering its contents, however, it's formatting like: <h1>Email Content</h1> Can you see what I'm doing wrong?     I am trying to create a message-board type element in a CakePHP app. This element will be displayed on all pages and views that use a particular layout. I want it to display all the messages in the model, then show the add form when a link is clicked, then return to the updated message list when submitted. All this without affecting the current view/page. I have my message model/controller/index set up, with a message board element that requests the index action. This works fine. However I am perplexed about how to return back to the original page/action from which the link was clicked. I can't use $this-referer() because that will link back to the add() action; what I want rather is to link to the page/view before that. Any general pointers on how to achieve something like this?

Btw. I need to do it this way, because the select-element isn't created on load. The select element will be created later asynchronously. When any popup is open on the screen, we can still clicks links on webpage behind popup which causes some unexpected behaviour. How can I disable a webpage behind popup. I have seen some web application in which when popup appears then webpage behind popup become shady. I have read some tutorial about this. In each tutorial a link is used to open a dialog and an special attribute is added in for modal. But I have a different case I have to open dialog on some condition in action.     I need to get the unique URL identifier for the product that is created after inserting an item into Google Base using the Zend_Gdata_Gbase library. I can't seem to do this. I am finding a startling lack of documentation online about manipulating the objects used in these applications. The url that I add to the object does not work to retrieve the base item later, which is why I need to get the one that google generates upon submission. I am writing a program that will need to be able to delete content at a later date, and thus will need to store that information in order to keep the website synced with the Google Base feed. When I run xjc on my schema I only get a ProjectType.java class, and when the xml actually consist of a single element, this won't parse, because there are no Project.java class/interface to match.

    I trying to get twitter updates like this: try { $doc = new DOMDocument(); $doc->load('http://twitter.com/statuses/user_timeline/1234567890.rss'); $isOK = true; } catch( Zend_Exception $e ) { $isOK = false; } If there is not problem with internet connection then $isOK = true; is set. But if there is a problem in loading twitter page then it shows following warnings and does not set $isOK = false; Warning: DOMDocument::load(http://twitter.com/statuses/user_timeline/1234567890.rss) [domdocument.load]: failed to open stream: HTTP request failed! HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found in /var/www/vcred/application/controllers/IndexController.php on line 120 I don't want to see above warning on my webpage in any case. Any idea? Thanks

    Hey guys, I want to use the argument I pass (this) in a JS function and treat it as an jQuery variable. Example: <script> function useMe(obj){ $(obj).val(); ... ... ... } </script> <select id="selectid" onChange="useMe(this)"> <option>......</option> </select> Is there a possibility to treat the passed argument as a jQuery element? Btw. I need to do it this way, because the select-element isn't created on load. The select element will be created later asynchronously. So, this won't work: $("select").each(function (i){ var select_id = $(this).attr("id"); $(this).change(function(e){ because it doesn't exist yet. Thanks for your help.

  • Make user object available to all Controllers in Zend?

    Hey guys, I'm using Zend_Auth to identify a user in my application. This creates a session with the userobject. My question is how do I make this object available to every Controller and action, so I don't have to pull it out of the session every time I need data from this object? I'm guessing this should be done in bootstrap.php or index.php but I don't really know how to makte it available to every controller.. so any code examples would be appreciated! Thanks!

  • Zend_Dojo_Form not rendering in layout

    Hi, I have a quick question about adding Zend_Dojo_Form into Zend_layouts. I have a Zend_Dojo_Form that I want to display in the layout that is used for a particular controller. I can add the form to the layout without any issue however the dojo elements fail to render, as they would do if I added the form to a standard view. Is there any reason why this would be the case? Do I need to do something to the layout so that it will enable the components for this embedded form in the layout. Any other dojo enabled forms that are added in the view using this layout work fine. My form is created in the usual way: class QuickAddJobForm extends Zend_Dojo_Form{ public function init(){ $this->setName('quickaddjobfrm') ->setMethod('post') ->setAction('/addjob/start/); /*We now create the elements*/ $jobTitle = new Zend_Dojo_Form_Element_TextBox('jobtitle', array( 'trim' => true ) ); $jobTitle->setAttrib('style', 'width:200px;') ->addFilter('StripTags') ->removeDecorator('DtDdWrapper') ->removeDecorator('HtmlTag') ->removeDecorator('Label'); .... $this->addElements(array($jobTitle, ....)); In the controller I declare the layout and the form in the init function: public function init(){ $this->_helper->layout->setLayout('add-layout'); $form = new QuickAddJobForm(); $form->setDecorators(array(array('ViewScript', array('viewScript' => 'quickAddJobFormDecorator.phtml')))); $this->_helper->layout()->quickaddjob = $form; In my layout Where I want the form I have: echo $this->layout()->quickaddjob; Why would adding this form in the layout fail to render/add the Dojo elements?   • jquery ajax form success callback not being called

    I'm trying to upload a file using "AJAX", process data in the file and then return some of that data to the UI so I can dynamically update the screen. I'm using the JQuery Ajax Form Plugin, jquery.form.js found at http://jquery.malsup.com/form/ for the javascript and using Django on the back end. The form is being submitted and the processing on the back end is going through without a problem, but when a response is received from the server, my Firefox browser prompts me to download/open a file of type "application/json". The file has the json content that I've been trying to send to the browser. I don't believe this is an issue with how I'm sending the json as I have a modularized json_wrapper() function that I'm using in multiple places in this same application. Here is what my form looks after Django templates are applied: <form method="POST" enctype="multipart/form-data" action="/test_suites/active/upload_results/805/"> <p> <label for="id_resultfile">Upload File:</label> <input type="file" id="id_resultfile" name="resultfile"> </p> </form> You won't see any submit buttons because I'm calling submit with a button else where and am using ajaxSubmit() from the jquery.form.js plugin. Here is the controlling javascript code: function upload_results($dialog_box){ $form = $dialog_box.find("form"); var options = { type: "POST", success: function(data){ alert("Hello!!"); }, dataType: "json", error: function(){ console.log("errors"); }, beforeSubmit: function(formData, jqForm, options){ console.log(formData, jqForm, options); }, } $form.submit(function(){ $(this).ajaxSubmit(options); return false; }); $form.ajaxSubmit(options); } As you can see, I've gotten desperate to see the success callback function work and simply have an alert message created on success. However, we never reach that call. Also, the error function is not called and the beforeSubmit function is executed. The file that I get back has the following contents: {"count": 18, "failed": 0, "completed": 18, "success": true, "trasaction_id": "SQEID0.231"} I use 'success' here to denote whether or not the server was able to run the post command adequately. If it failed the result would look something like: {"success": false, "message":"<error_message>"} Your time and help is greatly appreciated. I've spent a few days on this now and would love to move on.

  • Form values appear blank when submitting to the database - Drupal FormAPI

    Hello, I have been working on this drupal form API script for past week and half. to give an insight into my problem.. the form below merely lists a host of database records which contain 5 individual scoring ranks. (mind, action, relationship, language and IT). this code is apart of my own custom module where all values are listed from the database. the idea behind this module is to be able to edit these values on a large scale.     By default, jaxb 2 lists all (all possible required) namespaces in root element during marshalling: <rootElement xmlns="default_ns" xmlns:ns1="ns1" xmlns:ns2="ns2"> <ns1:element/> </rootElement> Is there a way to describe namespace in each element instead of root element ?: <rootElement xmlns="default_ns"> <element xmlns="ns1"/> </rootElement> It also solves the problem of "unnecessary namespaces", which is also important in my case. Any suggestions appreciated.

    As you may have known that I switched from ubuntu to windows from my previous questions. I was working on Zend Framework on ubuntu and now working on same project in windows. Because of this switching I facing some problems in windows which was not occurred in ubuntu.
