• Error while deploying a web application in OSGI container using pax web

  Hello I am trying to deploy a web application in a Felix container. I have all the required configuration done with my web app like the setting up of the manifest headers: Webapp-Context: Bundle-ClassPath: Bundle-Activator: Import-Package: Bundle-SymbolicName: etc The Pax bundles that I have dropped in the same container are: pax-web-service-0.6.0.jar pax-web-jsp-0.7.1.jar pax-web-extender-war-0.7.1.jar pax-logging-service-1.5.0.jar pax-logging-api-1.5.0.jar Though it had been written in the pax web site that pax-web-service is included in pax-war-extender, it seems without pax-web-service bundle, all other bundles become handicapped. I had removed the other pax bundles like pax-web-extender-whiteboard-0.7.1.jar pax-web-jetty-0.7.1.jar, as I have not seen any usefulness of those. The pax-web-jetty-0.7.1.jar even does not get start up. it has dependencies which it could not be able to resolve from any one of the bundle provided by PAX. My browser is displaying: HTTP ERROR 403 Problem accessing /adminmodule/.   First of all thank you in advance for helping me. my issue is the old network admin found a problem whene he connected the firewall and the ETSU together the through put went down to less than 1 mega bit a second. his fix was to add a dlink router between the firewall and the etsu which speed it up to 5 mega bits a second. now my boss wants a more clean and proper solution if possible. i have check all the settings in the netgear it dose not seem to be a setting issue. if anyone can help that would be great.

• Secure Login add on stopped working after installing BitDefender

  I'm using FF 3.5.4. with Secure Login 0.9.3 add on (lovely little thing). After a lot of persuading, my sys admin finally got to me, and I let him install BitDefender on my machine as well ... and naturally, like all anti virus programs do, it had to screw up something, and it was that add on. It says now in the add onns menu, that it isn't compatible with FF 3.5.4. (which is possible, I don' know, but it did work until one hour ago). What to do to make it work again? All ideas welcomed. I really hate writing all that logins/passwords by ahnd.

• RSS feed doesnt display items. Only title

  So i just made my first RSS feed, or so i tought, in combination with CI. Now my view DOES display the top of my rss page (Title and Description), But all items are omitted. When i rightclick-view source it DOES contain all the items within the item tags. Can anyone help me?   Hello, I'm puzzled by this email message that gets quarantined by McAfee Secure Messaging Service (it's based on Postini) for no reason that I can think of. Can anyone explain to me why the final score is so low when none of the filters were triggered? Does anyone have any suggestions on how to prevent this from happening? Regards, Martin

Considering the requirement of a 64 bit OS, consider a new separate machine as ready to go with Win 2008. Have I missed any details? Where might virtualization help in this project? • Password problem while creating domain

  Hi, I'm freshman so far in server management stuff but this seems to be clearly against logic. After updating my Windows Server 2008 Standard 32bit, installing DNS server and AD DS I wanted to create domain via using CMD and dcpromo.exe setup. But no matter if I disable demand for comlex password in Password policies or create a password which fully comply with requirements for strong and complex password, still I can't get any further and it says that my password doesn't meet requirements. I'm also asked there to activate password demand by NET USER -passwordreq:yes and when I do so, this password doesn't work any more and I have to remove it from other admin account to be at least able to login with proper Administrator account.

• Connected 2 routers, but they won't talk

  I'm trying to set up a second WLAN at home (since the Nintendo DS firmware won't connect to my WPA-encrypted main WLAN), but when I connect my second router's WAN port to one of my main router's LAN ports, the routers won't talk, and I can't connect wirelessly to the second router. I can still see the second router's WLAN - I am just unable to connect to it. And it seems that even the main router can't see the second router, despite being plugged directly into it - I went to the main router's admin console and pinged the second router (which is receiving an IP address), but it was unable to reach it! Does anyone know what might be wrong? Thanks!

  I'm on windows 7 64 bit, i'm using the admin accouunt, i try to install some programs, but can't, i troubleshooted the error that i got, and turned out that windows installer service is stopped, i tried to start it, it says windows installer service could not be started because its disabled or it has no enabled devices associated with it. Error 1058 How to fix it? Note that the laptop has an expired bitdefender installed on it. I don't know if it's causing the problem or not, i just thought it was worth mentioning since i had many problems with misconfigured or expired antiviruses before. • SQL Server 2005 Agent running SSIS job can't find file path

  Basically I'm trying to run a functioning SSIS job (created in BIDS) under the SQL Server Agent - it reads a set of Excel spreadsheets and dumps the results into a table. The problem I'm having is getting the SSA to read the file path, the relevant part of the error is: "0x80004005 Description: "'N:\Assets Property & Facilities Management\Monthly Absence.xls' is not a valid path. Make sure that the path name is spelled correctly and that you are connected to the server on which the file resides." I've tried using UNC paths (\servername\ share) but the BIDS rewrites the paths to standard file paths (c:\directory\filename), I've also tried a proxy which runs this step under an Admin account. I've also tried changing the path to UNC on the SSIS job on the server. Also I'm forcing it to use the 32 bit DTEXEC, so it's not that either Always get the same error, do I need to re-create the job from scratch?

• Why can't I create a public folder?

  I have a need to create a new Exchange public folder, as a sub folder to a folder that I'm already the owner of. When ever I try (from Outlook 2007) to create a new public folder, I'm told I don't have persmission. Outlook doesn't let me view the permissions of this folder, however it lets me view permissions of other folders that I'm owner of. Both ESM and PFDAVAdmin both report that my regular (i.e. non domain admin account) is the owner of the folder. Our set up is as follows: Exchange 2003 running on Server 2003, Windows 2008 R2 domain. Windows XP Desktop, Outlook 2007. Everything fully patched. What am I doing wrong?

• Moving Windows 7 profile to new user

  I have a laptop which I've been using as part of a corporate network with an AD login (and associated local profile). The laptop is loaded with Windows 7 Ultimate. I need to remove the laptop from this domain and, to start this process, I have already configured a local user on the box for me to use moving forward (granting this user the same local admin rights as the AD user). I'd like to migrate all the files, settings, etc from the local AD profile to the new non-AD profile. Is there a simple way to do this? Anything built into Win 7? As far as basic files I can probably just manually copy all the documents, pictures, music, desktop, favorites, etc... But is there a more streamlined way to move profile information? -Kevin

  i've got a Ubuntu Linux system with 12Gb memory most of which (at least 10Gb) can be allocated solely to postgres. the system also has a 6 disk 15k SCSI RAID 10 setup. The process i'm trying to optimise is twofold. firstly a single threaded, single connection will do many inserts into 2-4 tables linked by foreign key. secondly many different complex queries are run against the resulting data, using group by extensively. this part especially needs to be optimised. i have four of these processes running at once in order to make use of the quad core CPU, therefore there will generally be no more than 5 concurrent connections (1 spare for admin tasks). what configuration changes to the default Postgres config would you recommend? I'm looking for the optimum values for things like work_mem, shared_buffers etc. relevant doco thanks!

• How do I find out original ./configure compile time directives for Apache?

  I've inherited an abandoned server, and I need to upgrade Apache/OpenSSL. No one knows the original configure options that were used to compile it, and the original admin is long gone. PHP is not compiled in, so phpinfo()'s out. http -l and httpd -V do some good, but not enough to rebuild all of the ./configure line. I need to get all of the arguments that were used to build it including the "enable" parameters,etc.. Where does phpinfo() get this from? Is there another way to find it? Thanks!

  Possible Duplicate: How is software deployed via Active Directory? I have trying to deploy a programs, mapped network drives and taks schedule job. I didn't manage to start a script on log on PC until I did it in Default Domain Policy. But when I did that I have installed programs on my server too. And mapped network drives, etc. So I don't know how to manage to do all of that but not to install anything on server over GPO. I still didn't manage to deploy a schedule task job on clients. I manage to put it on server bit not on clients. I need that schedule task because I need to update software on clients every week. I can't manual update flash player, adobe reader, firefox, etc on clients. And People useing client PC even doesn't know how to do it if they have abillity. Clients doesn't have admin rights.

  Hi Got a new router yesterday (due to new internet supplier) and now all my requests for my own server (local lan) is routed directly to the router instead of the server, when using dns. Ex. I have a website www.mysite.org running on my server at home (local lan). From work I can access it via www.mysite.org, which is great. But from home (local lan) my request's for www.mysite.org gets rerouted to the routers web admin interface My last router didn't do this. My new router is a Zyxel P-2602HW-1DA, my old one was a LinkSys WRT-54GC V. 2.0. There's a rather wierd WAN-LAN, WAN-WAN setup interface which I cant really comprehend yet and the docs are rather vague. Have anyone had the same problem and can anyone guide me to a solution, would nice not write the ip address everytime i need to access the server on local lan. :). Kind regards Garrett

• Java 6.0 Virtual Machine re-caches application on every load

  I have a Java application which is loaded and cached by the JRE and for most users it only needs to cache once unless the application software has changed. However, I have one computer that caches the entire application every time they load it. It is not the version of the JRE, I have that running on other machines. It also works on this machine if logged in as a local admin, just not as a standard user. Does anybody have any ideas on what might be causing this?

• Mac OS X: All bootcamp options start Windows

  I just installed the latest security update on Mac OS X (installed on 2-10-2010). On restart my Mac booted in Windows 7, which I had installed previously and was set not to boot by default. I tried to restart holding the alt key, and selected the Mac OS X partition, but still the Windows 7 partition boots. It does not matter what partition I choose, Windows 7 always boots. I took a look in the OS X partition and noticed that the admin home folder is empty, or at least Windows is not showing any files there. There is another user on OS X and I can see their files no problem. This has me stumped, has anyone any suggestions for a finding a solution?

• How to switch users without entering password

  I'm a newbie running Ubuntu 9.10. I have two users (wife and me), and each user's screensaver is set to lock so that on wakeup, we get to choose which user's desktop to go to. However, Ubuntu requires a password, so this is pretty tedious. I'd like to switch users without entering any password. I know about this trick that works for the boot login, but it doesn't deal with multiple users. Is it possible to set empty passwords for users in Ubuntu, or skip the password in other ways? (I'm expecting real Linux users to suggest that passwordless users must not get any rights and there be an admin user with a strong password. Yes, you're right. • Server Performance

  We have a dedicated server that we use to stage websites (our test server). The performance of the server has become really bad and we regularly have to restart it. When performance is poor I have checked task manager for the processes and memory but everything looks OK. We use a content management system and it is always when using the admin section of this CMS that we notice the performance degrade which makes me think it may have something to do with DB calls the CMS is making. Does this sound viable? Any other sggestions of how I can go about testing this? Thanks in advance...

• Windows 7 offline files - work temporarily offline even if network connection works

  Sometimes I am connected via VPN to a network containing the server where files are stored which are cached by Windows offline files feature. Sometimes the connection works good and working this way is not a problem - on other times working is quite a pain because of high latency when working with the files in the Windows explorer. Is there an interactive way how a user (with admin permissions) can temporary suspend online usage of offline files? I already activated the "Transparent caching" group policy feature (Computer Configuration Policies Administrative Templates Networks Offline Files) with a network latency of 200msec but from my experience even if I get ping times to the file server of less than 40msec online usage is quite tenacious. Setting low latency times at this point causes the offline files often to toggle which makes problems with some applications working with several files and requires them to be consistent (like SVN client).

  I would like to backup an ASF video stream with the time stamp (I mean the original recording date/time) on the output stream ? Usage I convert / store my video using the mkv format (Matroska) with libx264 (video) and aac (audio) codecs. Assume the IP camera webcam user account is account, the password password $ ffmpeg -i http://admin:alpha1237@webcam/videostream.asf -c:v libx264 -s 768X432 -crf 13 -b:v 2500K -pix_fmt yuv420p -c:a libfdk_aac output.mkv This works fine on a tenvis JPT3815W camera How to I need to get the video timestamp available for display as a subtitle or other meta data field managed by standard video players, and ideally to be able to hide it or not during video reading.
