    Can someone please help as i've spent all day trying to fix this. I installed the latest XAMPP and now i can't connect to mysql from terminal.I checked my .profile file and the PATH seems ok. Does anyone know whats happened and what's the solution? PATH=$PATH:/Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/bin export PATH THIS IS A PROGRAMMING QUESTION AS I'M A PHP DEVELOPER TRYING TO DO MY JOB!   • Free solution to backup folders to external SFTP server with shadow copy

    I have an account in university on Linux machine with 10TB of free space accessible via SFTP. I would like to backup my Windows 7 x64 laptop to university. Currently I am using rsync+cygwin, but backup is pretty slow (without shadow copy) and I hate console window appearing every day on my screen when I login. So I am looking for something like Windows Backup but with support for SFTP. Combination of tools will work too.

  • uploading php files into my root folder and sending spam

    i do not understand how but someone is uploading a php file into the public_html directory of my CentOS 6 server like statisticsuQPo.php this php file gives me "linux10+cfcd208495d565ef66e7dff9f98764da" and it is sending spam mail's without end. i have remove the file maybe 10 times but i do got it back every day. how can i solve this problem? is there anything wrong with my apache configuration?

After applying the latest round of updates (including Root Certificates for April 2012 KB931125 (See:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/933430/)), EAP authentication is failing due to being malformed. Sample error (Security/Event ID 6273), truncated for brevity: Authentication Details: Proxy Policy Name: Use Windows authentication for all users Network Policy Name: Wireless Access Authentication Provider: Windows Authentication Server: nps-host.corp.contoso.com Authentication Type: PEAP EAP Type: - Account Session Identifier: - Reason Code: 266 Reason: The message received was unexpected or badly formatted. The NPS policy (Wireless Access) is configured accordingly (for Constraints/Authentication methods) EAP Types: Microsoft: Protected EAP (PEAP) - with a valid certificate from ADCS Microsoft: Secured password (EAP-MSCHAP v2) Less secure authentication methods: Microsoft Encrypted Authentication version 2 (MS-CHAP-v2) User can change password after it has expired Microsoft Encrypted Authentication (MS-CHAP) User can change password after it has expired We've tested a different RADIUS server without the aforementioned patch, and removed EAP as an authentication type and experienced success.   • Software for analyzing IIS logs?

    I have a ton of IIS monthly logs. Can someone recommend software that can help me analyze them (e.g. visitors, os/browser statistics, all the standard stuff)? I'd like a piece of software that does not require me to setup a server or anything complicated. Simply point it to a file or folder and it'll do the rest.     Microsoft released an update for Windows 7 today: KB980408: The April 2010 stability and reliability update for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 is available. The update fixes, among other things: Windows Explorer may stop responding for 30 seconds when a file or a directory is created or renamed after certain applications are installed. i'm not experiencing it on my own Windows 7 machine, but two colleagues at work were experiencing the problem. i would really like to know what applications were causing problems. Microsoft will never call out the misbehaving applications. i want to know what software i should be ridiculing and insulting. And avoid in the future. Did anyone who was experiencing this problem isolate the applications?

  • apache2 mod_deflate static content

    I have a server serving up a JS file a few million times a day using apache2. Some of my users would like the JS to be gzipped. Does anyone know how apache2 mod_deflate handles compression of static files? Will it compress the js for each request(in which case I'd be worried about cpu load)? If it does, is there a way to pre-compress the JS files so apache2 wouldn't have to do this for each file?

  • Uninstalling MySQL for MariaDB Replacement on cPanel

    Well the first part of my day was spent researching how to remove MySQL to install MariaDB and the second part of my day was spent trying to reinstall MySQL cause something was messed up. So now I come to the masses for some help. I have a box with cPanel/WHM on it. CentOS 5.6 64 bit. I have upgraded (through WHM) MySQL to 5.5.24 and that was successful. After some research, the options I found were an intimidating Linux command with pipes greps and dashes, and another command yum remove mysql I tried that out and it appeared to remove mysql.....ish.   • Frequent "Code: 5" errors on Timeslips on Windows Server 2008

    I am having a problem with Timeslips by Sage 2010. Frequently throughout the day as I have Timeslips running an alert Window will open stating: "System error. Code: 5. access is denied" There is one button: OK. I can click the button, but nothing happens. I have to kill the Timeslips.exe process and re-open the software.   • Blank Screen After Login on Windows 7

    When unlocking a Windows 7 computer the screen briefly (less than a second) goes blank before showing the screen. Abound once a month (but sometimes within a few days) when I unlock my computer the screen doesn't come back from this brief blackout and stays black. Sometimes after five minutes or so the display will come back. Other times it has been blank for over 20 minutes, so I give up and restart the computer. It seems to happen more often when the computer has been locked for a longer period of time - I lock my computer several times a day, but the problem most happens when I come in at the start of the day. I have updated my video card and monitor drivers. I have two monitors driven by the same graphics card. The computer is a Dell Optiplex 740. When the problem occurs both monitors have a green light on to indicate that they are receiving signal. I've tried unplugging the monitors from the video card and turning the monitors on and off. The screen saver is set to one that is not blank screen. The Windows power settings are set to never turn off the display. When the problem occurs there is no significant disk activity occurring. When the problem occurs I can connect over the network to the hard drive on my computer. When the problem occurs I can't connect over the network with a VNC connection. The VNC client doesn't give an error, but also won't show the screen. The task actually seems to hang as I can see the task, but there is no window for it. This problem occurred when I was running a pre-release version of Windows 7. The hard drive was formatted for release version and the problem still occurs. I've been stopping some of my always running programs to see if one of them may be the culprit, but given the span between failures that will take some time to find the problem if it will even help at all. Some programs I have always running include IE, Firefox, Outlook, Evernote, Kana Reminder, Ditto, Macro Express, Timesnapper, and DisplayFusion. Any ideas appreciated.

I have a bunch of items in my queue It's set to auto-publish once a day It's set to only publish between 1am and 3am The next morning nothing will be published. The interface isn't perfectly clear - is it attempting to auto-post at a time that's not between 1 - 3 and then giving up?

  • Ericsson W35 ssh administration

    I picked up a Ericsson W35 at a pawn shop the other day and when I login to the administration section at 192.168.1.1 I get an error message about connecting to the database. It apparently supports ssh administration and I get a password prompt when attempting to ssh [email protected] but no passwords I try work and theres no documentation for it. Has anyone had success with ssh on the Ericsson W35 and is this issue fixable? Thanks.

  • DNS down in Anonymous attack

    As I'm writing this our company website and the web-service we developed are down in the big GoDaddy outage resulting from an Anonymous attack (or so says Twitter). We used GoDaddy as our registrar and we use it for DNS for some domains. Tomorrow is a new day - what can we do to mitigate such outages? Simply moving to, say, Route 53 for DNS might not be enough. Is there any way to remove this single point of failure?

    Does anyone know of a way to fix the Apache memory leak in relation to Subversion Server? We have a windows server 2003 machine running Apache to host Subversion. From day one, we have had memory leak issues and have not found a solution yet. All we do is monitor our server when when the memory use reaches near the max it can handle we have to restart Apache.

Currently, the log rotation/moving/compressions is done either via custom bash scripts and scheduled via Cron, or in the application's code itself.   • Using WinAmp to put music on an iPod/iPhone

    Back in the day, with older iPods, you could copy music onto them using Winamp's Music Library. I heard that newer iPods and iPhones have all sort of encryption that prevents this from being fully functional. I'm looking to buy a new iPod soon, and would really like to avoid installing (or at least keeping) a copy of iTunes on my PC. Are solutions still available through WinAmp? Other software? What iPod/iPhone models would work better?

  • The RPC services keeps stopping

    For some reason, the RPC service keeps stopping which prevents me from remoting into the server. When this happens I have to manually make my way to the server to restart it as simply starting the service (which does not complain when starting), does not let me remote into the server. I have to restart the server manually to be able to remove into the server again. It seems to be happening a few times a day. Does anyone know why this might be happening?

    I have trouble to paste a list of strings in the format of 'mm/dd/yy' into iWork-Numbers. For example: 04/01/10 04/03/10 04/13/10 The result will be: 2004-01-10 2004-03-10 04/13/10 It looks like that Numbers convert the mm into year, then month and last day. Is there any way to paste whatever as they are? Do I have to change settings in Numberers or System preference?
