  • Error 'duplicate definition' when compiling 2 c files that reference 1 header file

    I have two C files and one header that are as follows: Header file header.h: char c = 0; file1.c: #include "header.h" file2.c: #include "header.h" I was warned about 'duplicate definition' when compiling. I understand the cause as the variable c is defined twice in both file1.c and file2.c; however, I do need to reference the header.h in both c files. How should I overcome this issue?

    I've checked out the usefule link how to download a file from internet using Delphi and my question related but I would appreciate a pointer to get started. I need to be able to copy all files in a web server folder down to a local folder. I wont know how many files there are, or indeed whether there is an internet connection.     I would like to create a text box which loads xml files and let users edit them. However, I cannot use XmlDocument to load since the files can be very large. I am looking for options to stream/load the xml document in chunks so that I do not get out of memory errors -- at the same time, performance is important too. Could you let me know what would be good options?

I have a strange situation that's occurred with both the DataSet designer and also the L2S DBML designer where it's ignoring the DataSet.Designer.cs and has created and used a DataSet.Designer1.cs instead.     This is the error I get: Error 101 Could not load type 'control'. /Test.vbproj/x.ascx 1 1 WebDeployProject This is a left over file that was part of the project last week, but one of the developers deleted it from the project. I have to manually delete the file in order to get the WDP to build. Is there a way to tell the WDP to ignore the files that are not part of the project or to see that these files are not part of the project and delete them?

I have installed the gnuwin32 set of utilities, including libpng and zlib; C:\Program Files\GnuWin32\bin is in path. JPG files started working but not PNGs. I'd appreciate any hints on getting this to work.

    Quite straight forward question. Is there a way to configure Eclipse to work with text files encoded with utf-8 with and without the BOM? So far I've used eclipse with utf-8 encoding and it works, but when I try to edit a file generated by another editor that includes the BOM, Eclipse doesn't handle it properly, it 'shows an invisible character' at the begining of the file (the BOM). Is there a way to make Eclipse understand utf-8 encoded files with BOM?
