  I have a project that I am working on that requires the use of the Mysql Connector for NHibernate, (Mysql.Data.dll). I also want to reference another project (Migrator.NET) in the same project. The problem is even though Migrator.NET is built with the reference to MySql.Data with specific version = false, it still tries to reference the older version of MySql.Data that the library was built with instead of just using the version that is there.. and I get the exception listed in the title: ---- System.IO.FileLoadException : Could not load file or assembly 'MySql.Data, Version=1.0.10.1, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=c5687fc88969c44d' or one of its dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131040) The version I am referencing in the main assembly is 6.1.3.0. How do I get the two assemblies to cooperate? • C# Menu Toolstrip Get Status

  So I have a project where there is some automatic initialization going on through some classes that are created automatically as global variables (deah they are static instances). At a point inside this (it has no relation with the C# GUI for the user, so it isn't derived from any C# class) I need to see if a flag is set or not. I use toolstrip menu with checked and unchecked status in order to set or unset the flag. The problem is that I have difficulties to see if the flag is checked or not from this static class. My class is inside a different project/namespace and a DLL is created what later is linked to the GUI of the application. The GUI depends from this Manager class so making the Manager class to depend from the GUI is not an option. Nevertheless, I should be able to see its state knowing its name or through some other means. I have tried the following: if(Application.OpenForms[1].Owner.Controls["useLocalImageForInitToolStripMenuItem"].Enabled) { }; Now the problem is that on the upper code snippet I get a nasty error. So how do I do this?

• More efficient way to find media item in WMP media library?

  Hello, all. I am messing around with the WMPLib component provided by Windows Media Player 12 (wmp.dll) in VB.NET with .NET Framework 3.5 SP1. I am trying to retrieve a media item from my media library based on its name (assuming there are no duplicate names). At the moment, I'm grabbing the entire media library, and looping through every media item, and quitting the loop when I've found the correct media item. This works well (except for when a media item with that name cannot be found), but I was hoping there was a more efficient way of doing this.   Hello , I am using WAMP server on Windows XP. - Apache 2.2.11 - MySQL 5.1.36 (INNODB engine) - PHP 5.3.0 I observe that my WAMP server crashes in the following scenarios 1) IF I use a Low end PC ( low processor speed and low RAM) 2) After making some changes to httpd.conf file .For eg changing the Allow from IP address . But here it crashes only once and then it starts to work fine. 3) Random crashes CRASH LOG szAppName : httpd.exe szAppVer : 2.2.11.0 szModName : php5ts.dll szModVer : 5.3.0.0 offset : 0000c309 C:\DOCUME~1\blrcom\LOCALS~1\Temp\WERc677.dir00\httpd.exe.mdmp C:\DOCUME~1\blrcom\LOCALS~1\Temp\WERc677.dir00\appcompat.txt My questions 1) Does high CPU utilization/LOW RAM can also cause the HTTP server to crash ? 2) excessive file reading as in every 10 seconds ? 3) unlimited script execution time . I have set the maximum execution time in php script to 0 as my script has to execute for sometimes 2-3 days. Is there any way to avoid this ? 4) Access to Database ? • C++/CLI managed thread cleanup

  Hi. I'm writing a managed C++/CLI library wrapper for the MySQL embedded server. The mysql C library requires me to call mysql_thread_init() for every thread that will be using it, and mysql_thread_end() for each thread that exits after using it. Debugging any given VB.Net project I can see at least seven threads; I suppose my library will see only one thread if VB doesn't explicitly create worker threads itself (any confirmations on that?). However, I need clients to my library to be able to create worker threads if they need to, so my library must be thread-aware to some degree. The first option I could think of is to expose some "EnterThread()" and "LeaveThread()" methods in my class, so the client code will explicitly call them at the beginning and before exiting their DoWork() method. This should work if (1) .Net doesn't "magically" create threads the user isn't aware of and (2) the user is careful enough to have the methods called in a try/finally structure of some sort. However, I don't like it very much to have the user handle things manually like that, and I wonder if I could give her a hand on that matter. In a pure Win32 C/C++ DLL I do have the DllMain DLL_THREAD_ATTACH and DLL_THREAD_DETACH pseudo-events, and I could use them for calling mysql_thread_init() and mysql_thread_end() as needed, but there seem to be no such thing in C++/CLI managed code. At the expense of some performance (not much, I think) I can use TLS for detecting the "usage from a new thread" case, but I can imagine no mechanism for the thread exiting case. So, my questions are: (1) could .net create application threads without the user being aware of them? and (2) is there any mechanism I could use similar to DLL_THREAD_ATTACH / DLL_THREAD_DETACH from managed C++/CLI? • Android ndk-build command does nothing

  I have a similar question to that posted here: Android NDK: why ndk-build doesn't generate .so file and a new libs folder in Eclipse? ...though I am running Windows 7, not Mac os. Essentially the ndk-build command is run, gives no error but doesn't create an .so file (also, since I'm on windows this should create a .dll and not an .so?). I tried running the command from the root, jni, src folders etc. but got the same result; cmd just returns to the prompter after a few seconds. I ran it again from the jni folder with NDK_LOG=1 parameter to see what was happening. Here is a portion of the transcript of the log results after running ndk-build in the jni folder (after it successfully identified the platform, etc.)...   pyscripter 2.5.3.0 x64, python 2.7.7 anaconda 2.0.1, windows 7 I was using pyscripter and EPD python happily in 32 bit, no problem. Just changed to 64 bit anaconda version and re-installed everything but now pyscripter cannot import rpyc -- it runs with internal engine (no anaconda), but no such error in pure python. • File extensions and MIME Types in .NET

  I want to get a MIME Content-Type from a given extension (preferably without accessing the physical file). I have seen some questions about this and the methods described to perform this can be resumed in: Use registry information. Use urlmon.dll's FindMimeFromData. Use IIS information. Roll your own MIME mapping function. Based on this table, for example. I've been using no.1 for some time but I realized that the information provided by the registry is not consistent and depends on the software installed on the machine. Some extensions, like .zip don't use to have a Content-Type specified. Solution no.2 forces me to have the file on disk in order to read the first bytes, which is something slow but may get good results. The third method is based on Directory Services and all that stuff, which is something I don't like much because I have to add COM references and I'm not sure it's consistent between IIS6 and IIS7. Also, I don't know the performance of this method. Finally, I didn't want to use my own table but at the end seems the best option if I want a decent performance and consistency of the results between platforms (even Mono). Do you think there's a better option than using my own table or one of other described methods are better? What's your experience?

  Since yesterday, I receive a security exception when I want to run a unit-test from within VS.NET 2008. The error goes like this: SecurityException: that assembly does not allow partially trusted callers ... The assembly that failed was : file:///S:/MyProject/MyAssembly.dll The S: drive is a mapped drive which points to a physical location on my disk. What I find very strange, is that this used to work for months previously. I mean, I did this all the time. In order to get this to work, I 've created a new security zone with the caspol utility in order to give this S: network share drive FullTrust. In other words, when I run caspol -m -lg I see this (I removed the other zones for the sake of brevity): 1.2. Zone - Intranet: LocalIntranet 1.2.1. All code: Same site Web 1.2.2. All code: Same directory FileIO - 'Read, PathDiscovery' 1.2.3. Url - file://R:/*: FullTrust 1.2.4. Url - file://S:/*: FullTrust 1.2.5. Url - file:///S:/*: FullTrust I've added the 1.2.5 zone just recently because the error that was given, mentionned file:///s:/.... Any ideas ? Could it be that this has something to do with the installation of VS.NET 2010 or the .NET Framework version 4.0 ?

• VB.Net Custom Controls

  This might be basic question, however I am confused on some .Net Concpets. I am trying to create a "Data Browser" in VB.net. Similar to a Web Browser however each Tab in the Data Browser is a view of some Data (from a database or flat files) not a webpage. The UI on each Tab is mostly the same. A list Box (showing datatypes, etc), a TextBox (where you can create a filter), and a DataGridView, a DataSource Picker, etc. The only thing that would change on each tab is that there could be a custom "Viewer". In most cases (depending on the datasource), this would be the datagrid, however in other cases it would be a treecontrol. From reading through the .Net documents, it appears that I need to Create a Custom Control (MyDataBrowser) Consisting of a Panel with all the common Controls (except the viewer). Every time the user says "New Tab", a new tabpage is created and this MyDataBrowser Control is added, The MyDataBrowser control would contain some function that was able to then create the approriate viewer based on the data at hand. If this is the suggested route, how is the best way to go about creating the MyDataBrowser Control (A) Is this a Custom Control Library? (B) Is this an Inhertited Form? (C) Is this an Inherrited User Control? I assume that I have to create a .DLL and add as a reference. Any direction on this would be appreciated. Does the custom Control have its own properties (I would like to save/load these from a configuration file). Is it possible to add a backgroundworker to this customcontrol? Thanks.

The first click always results 0 (as expected). but from the second click, the result is unpredictable (but the sequence is still in order, e.g. 3, 4, 5, 10, 14, 15, ....) If I click the button fast enough, I was able to get the result in continuous order (0,1,2,3,4,....) but sometimes it produces more than 2 same numbers (e.g. 0,1,2,3,3,3,4,5,6,6,6,7,8,9,...) Couldn't understand. Plz enlighten me :) Thanks.

• AjaxControlToolkit TabContainer with weird rendering behavior

  I've built a web application that contains a page that uses the AjaxControlToolkit's TabContainer/TabPanel objects. I've developed a custom stylesheet, as well. I'm developing using Visual Studio 2010. The following is the behavior of my application: VS2010 Development Server (localhost:XXXXX): Works as expected with the custom stylesheet. Local IIS: The TabContainer rendered but the stylesheet wasn't applied. I fixed this by doing a CTRL+F5. It seems that IIS caches stylesheets pretty aggressively. Remote Server: The TabContainer and TabPanel are completely hidden. Looking at the HTML, all of them have their visibility set to hidden. The way I got my files onto my remote server were as follows (I haven't yet set up WebDAV or remote publishing because the server is a Windows 7 box and as far as I am aware does not support FrontPage Extensions): The entire solution is under source code control (SVN). Checked in all pending changes (including projects, aspx files, css, AjaxControlToolkit binaries) Synced on the server. Rebuilt everything on server. Deployed to local IIS on server (which is externally accessible). Both on the local IIS on the server and the development server on the server, the TabContainers are completely hidden. Looking at the SVN status on the server project, only the "AjaxControlToolkit.dll" is under source-code control. All the locale-specific DLLs are not on the server. Could this be a potential issue? I'm not sure what's going on and would appreciate any help. Thanks!

What can I do except put Orders select string a additional where-condition: CUSTID IN (SELECT DISTINCT CUSTID FROM CUSTOMERS) OR: is it really that way (that all children have to have parents)? My code might have a bug also. The exception occurs when IN MY CODE I add the relation to filled DataSet. The exception is: An unhandled exception of type 'System.ArgumentException' occurred in System.Data.dll Additional information: This constraint cannot be enabled as not all values have corresponding parent values. • How to upgrade the project build in visual studio 2005 to visual studio 2008?

  I have one OPC ( OLE for Process control ) server project which is developed into visual studio 2005. I want to run it in visual studio 2008. The coding for the OPC server project is done in VC++. I want to connect my OPC client to this OPC server. When I was opened the OPC server project which was build into visual studio 2005 into visual studio 2008 first time it was asking for conversion wizard. I gone through that wizard & successfully finished that wizard. But when I build ( by right clicking on the project & choosing build solution ) it is giving lots of error near about 64 errors. Most of the errors are like - fetal error C1083:Can not open type library file:'msxml4.dll':No such file or directory, fetal error LINK1181:can not open input file 'rpcndr.lib' , error C2051:case expression not constant. only these 3 types of errors in am getting. All these 3 errors are repeated in Error list & becoming bunch of 64 errors. Please provide me the solution for the above issue. Can you provide me any suusgestion or link or any way through whcih I can resolve the above issue?

Suddenly it crashdumps, after which all pooled connections are invalid and it goes into admin-only mode (only sa can connect) The short stackdump is below. • How do I code Citrix web sites to use a Secure Gateway (CSG)?

  I'm using Citrix's sample code as a base and trying to get it to generate ICA files that direct the client to use their Secure Gateway (CSG) provider. My configuration is that the ICA file's server address is replaced with a CSG ticket and traffic is forced to go to the CSG. The challenge is that both the Citrix App Server (that's providing the ICA session on 1494) and the CSG have to coordinate through a Secure Ticket Authority (STA). That means that my code needs to talk to the STA as it creates the ICA file because STA holds a ticket that the CSG needs embedded into the ICA file. Confusing? Sure! But it's much more secure. The pre-CSG code looks like this: AppLaunchInfo launchInfo = (AppLaunchInfo)userContext.launchApp(appID, new AppLaunchParams(ClientType.ICA_30)); ICAFile icaFile = userContext.convertToICAFile(launchInfo, null, null); I tried to the SSLEnabled information to the ICA generation, but it was not enough. here's that code: launchInfo.setSSLEnabled(true); launchInfo.setSSLAddress(new ServiceAddress("CSG URL", 443)); Now, it looks like I need to register the STA when I configure my farm: ConnectionRoutingPolicy policy = config.getDMZRoutingPolicy(); policy.getRules().clear(); //Set the Secure Ticketing Authorities (STAs). • Cannot get net 4.5rc to work

  I have installed .net 4.5rc from http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/netframework/hh854779.aspx because I would like to use the new spatial features when developing with visual visual web developer 2010 express. But when I want to change the target framework to .net 4.5 in the project properties it is not there. I have checked the directory in C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64 and can see that there is no v4.5 folder but the v4.0 directory has been updated with a timestamp corresponding to when I installed v4.5. The version of the v4.0 directory is v4.0.30319. I am running windows 7 on my computer. Any ideas why I cannot find v4.5 ? thanks Thomas *UPDATE Based on the comment below I have found out that I am running 4.5. For others reading this post, .net 4.5 replaces the files in the .net 4.0 directory but without renaming the directory to .net 4.5 (a bit confusing). To check whether your assemblies have been updated check the product version of eg. system.dll (right click - details). According to this post http://www.west-wind.com/weblog/posts/2012/Mar/13/NET-45-is-an-inplace-replacement-for-NET-40 if the product version is above 17000 it is running 4.5.

  I'm in the process of writing a C# wrapper for Dallmeier Common API light (Camera & Surviellance systems) and I've never written a wrapper before, but I have used the Canon EDSDK C# wrapper. So I'm using the Canon wrapper as a guide to writing the Dallmeier wrapper. I'm currently having issues with wrapping a callback. If only single user login is used strUser2 is - NULL - strPwd1/2 - passwords of both users. If strUser2 is NULL strPwd2 is ignored. Return This function creates a SessionHandle that has to be passed Callback pParameters will be structured: - unsigned long ulFunctionID - unsigned long ulSocketHandle, //handle to socket of the established connection - unsigned long ulWindowHandle, - int SessionHandle, //session handle of the session created - const char * strIP, - const char* strUser1, - const char* strPwd1, - const char* strUser2, - const char * strPWD2 pResult is a pointer to an integer, representing the result of the operation. Zero on success. Negative values are error codes. So from what I've read on the Net and Stack Overflow - C# uses delegates for the purpose of callbacks. Am I heading in the right direction or is this completely wrong?
