    I've got a problem with the removal of entities in my JPA application: basically, I do in this EJB Business method: load photo list ; for each photo { //UPDATE remove TagPhoto element from @OneToMany relation //DISPLAY create query involving TagPhoto ... } and this last query always throws an EntityNotFoundException (deleted entity passed to persist: [...TagPhoto#]) I think I understand the meaning of this exception, like a synchronization problem caused by my Remove, but how can I get rid of it?

    Hi everyone, I'm new with Doctrine2 so my question can be easy to answer (I hope so). First of all, here the SQL query that I'd want : SELECT * FROM Document WHERE id NOT IN (SELECT document_id FROM Documents_Folders) Pretty simple isn't it ? The porblem is that my table 'Documents_Folders' is not an entity. In fact, it was create because I have a many-to-many relation between my entities 'Document' and 'Folder'.     I have a Flex/Actionscript 3 application that displays RSS feeds in a Text element. It strips out any HTML formatting present, but it's not handling HTML special entity codes properly -- it's rendering &mdash as the literal string instead of replacing it with an em-dash, etc. Is there any systematic way I can make it handle those codes properly, or am I going to need to manually replace those strings regex style?

Say I have an object Question: public class Question { private String category; ... } Would it be possible to populate a static Set<String> that is a distinct set of all categories in the Database? I know I could just query this, but I was wondering if there was a more elegant solution, as it seems like something that other people may have come across.

  • Why does Java tell me my applet contains both signed and unsigned code?

    My signed Java applet has been running fine until Java update 19. Now some but not all of our users on Java Update 19 report a java security message stating that our applet contains both signed and unsigned code. The process for creating our applet is as follows: 1: Clean and Build the applet project in Netbeans IDE. 2: Open the Applet jar file in WinRAR and add the required mysql JDBC driver .class files to the jar file. 3: Sign the applet jar file. Can someone please tell me how to determine what code is signed and what code is not signed in our applet? Is there a better way to include the mysql JDBC driver jar file in our applet other than copying the jar file contents into our applet jar file? Thanks

    Is it legal / ethical to copy code for any reason, or utilize it (like code review) from the .Net framework or any other .Net based API using Reflector or similar tools ? If it is, what advantages do Microsoft and other licence based softwares have for packing there code ? If it is not, Why can we use ILDasm and Reflector ?     Hi, I am in the middle of putting together some guidelines around code coverage and I want to specify a number that really makes sense. It's easy to repeat the 100% mantra that I see all over the internet without considering the cost benefit analysis and when diminishing returns actually sets in. I solicit comments from persons who have actually reported code coverage on real-life, medium/large-sized projects. What percentages were you seeing? How much is too much? I really want some balance (in figures) that will help developers produce hight quality code. Is 65% coverage too low to expect? Is 80% too high?

    Hi, I like to see what a method in the Java API does. So I want the JDK Source Code. Before I re-installed Linux I had the scr.sip file with all the code in it. I just had to tell Eclipse this file and I could see the code. But now I haven't the file anymore... So the question is: Where can I find it? Please don't paste the Google results here.   • Is it possible to get code coverage data for a GWT web app running tests from the web browser?

    I am not sure if this is possible but I would like some way to get code coverage information for tests that are written in Quick Test for our GWT based web app. It does not seem like there is any solution because the Quick Test Pro tests are testing against the GWT compiled app and not the original java code in which the app was written. I suppose I could get coverage data on the javascript that the GWT compiler creates, but there would be no way for me (that I know of) to map this information back to the original java code. Is there some way to do this?

    I'm trying to code a batch file to copy only the most recently dated file in a given folder to another directory on the local machine, and simultaneously rename it as it does. I've found a very similar question here http://stackoverflow.com/questions/97371/batch-script-to-copy-newest-file and have managed to cobble together the below code from other forums too, but have hit a brick wall as it only results in the batch file itself being copied to the destination folder. It doesn't matter to me where the batch file itself sits in order for this to run. The source folder is C:! BATCH and the destination folder is C:\DROP The code is below, apologies if this is a glaringly obvious answer but it's literally the first foray into coding batch files for me...     Let's face it, programmers can be show-offs. I've seen a lot of code that was only done a particular way to prove how smart the person who wrote it was. What's the best example of pure show-off code you've seen (or been responsible for) in your time? For me, it'd have to be the guy who wrote FizzBuzz in one line on a whiteboard during a programming interview. Not really that impressive in the scheme of things, but completely unnecessary and pure, "look-what-I-can-do". I've lost the original code, but I think it was something like this (linebreaks for readability): Enumerable.Range(1,100).ToList().ForEach( n => Console.WriteLine( (n%3==0) ? (n%5==0) ?   • How can the Kindle be used as a source code reading tool?

    I'm a programmer. I want to be a better programmer. I want to read more source code written by other people (especially open source projects). Also, I'd like to be able to have a on-hand searchable reference to all of that source code so that I can pull up reference to structures and snippets. Does anyone know of a way to use the Kindle for this? Has anyone tried? What were your findings? Additionally, does anyone know of a website that indexes all open source source code?
