  • Using an HTML Textbox in place of an ASP.NET TextBox

    - by Velika
If I add this to the ASPX page: <input id="Text1" type="text" value="Text1Value" /> I would expect to see "Text1" in the list of Request Form keys even WITHOUT setting the runat=Server property. ? request.Form.AllKeys I realize that if I do set that propery, then I will have a server-sided HTML control that I can reference using the name "Text1," but shouldn't I be able to access the text in the text box using the following VB.NET syntax? request.Form("Text1")

  • Webbrowser control: Get text value from html text

    - by Khou
The web browser has the following displayed content, within a html table. [Element] [Value] Name John Smith Email [email protected] We know that the value of the elements are on to the right of the element and they are both on the same line (this is how it appears on the screen but in the html code it might not appear like this). How do you get the values of element name and element email? (first remove all html tag? then somehow use regular express to get the values? or figure out how to use html agility pack?)

  • Formtastic nested model form fields (Rails 3)

    - by elsurudo
    So here's the scenario: User: has_one :company accepts_nested_attributes_for :company Controller: @user = User.new @user.build_company View: <% semantic_form_for @user, :url => register_path do |form| %> <h2>User Information</h2> <%= form.inputs %> <h2>Company Information</h2> <% form.semantic_fields_for :company do |company| %> <%= company.inputs %> <% end %> <%= form.buttons %> <% end %> After scouring the web, this SEEMS like it should work. However, all I get are the user inputs. The "semantic_fields_for :company" block outputs nothing at all... Am I missing something here, or is this perhaps a Rails 3 bug to do with Formtastic?

  • Decode received multipart/form-data request in Cocoa

    - by Snej
Hi: I wonder if there is any possibility to explicitly decode an incoming multipart/form-data POST request. Is there any lib to handle this safely? Several files are embedded in this request and I want to save these files individually. NSData *data = [(id)CFHTTPMessageCopyBody(request) autorelease]; Content-Type: multipart/form-data; boundary=0xKhTmLbOuNdArY The data content is: --0xKhTmLbOuNdArY Content-Disposition: form-data; name="file1"; filename="fileName1.extension" Content-Type: application/octet-stream; charset=utf-8 ......... --0xKhTmLbOuNdArY Content-Disposition: form-data; name="file2"; filename="fileName2.extension" Content-Type: application/octet-stream; charset=utf-8 ......... --0xKhTmLbOuNdArY--

  • ModalPopup inside the UpdatePanel with default form values

    - by prometeus
I have a ModalPopupExtender inside an UpdatePanel which opens an input form. The problem is when I click the "Edit" button (which is also inside the UpdatePanel) I want to fill the form with existing values using server side code. But it OnClick method of the button doesn't seem to work. My question is: How can I make the serverside code run first, than show the edit form?

  • ASP.NET MVC 2 - Saving child entities on form submit

    - by Justin
    Hey, I'm using ASP.NET MVC 2 and am struggling with saving child entities. I have an existing Invoice entity (which I create on a separate form) and then I have a LogHours view that I'd like to use to save InvoiceLog's, which are child entities of Invoice. Here's the view: <%@ Page Title="" Language="C#" MasterPageFile="~/Views/Shared/Site.Master" Inherits="System.Web.Mvc.ViewPage<TothSolutions.Data.Invoice>" %> <asp:Content ID="Content1" ContentPlaceHolderID="TitleContent" runat="server"> Log Hours </asp:Content> <asp:Content ID="Content3" ContentPlaceHolderID="HeadContent" runat="server"> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function () { $("#InvoiceLogs_0__Description").focus(); }); </script> </asp:Content> <asp:Content ID="Content2" ContentPlaceHolderID="MainContent" runat="server"> <h2>Log Hours</h2> <% using (Html.BeginForm("SaveHours", "Invoices")) {%> <%: Html.ValidationSummary(true) %> <fieldset> <legend>Fields</legend> <table> <tr> <th>Date</th> <th>Description</th> <th>Hours</th> </tr> <% int index = 0; foreach (var log in Model.InvoiceLogs) { %> <tr> <td><%: log.LogDate.ToShortDateString() %></td> <td><%: Html.TextBox("InvoiceLogs[" + index + "].Description")%></td> <td><%: Html.TextBox("InvoiceLogs[" + index + "].Hours")%></td> <td>Hours</td> </tr> <% index++; } %> </table> <p> <%: Html.Hidden("InvoiceID") %> <%: Html.Hidden("CreateDate") %> <input type="submit" value="Save" /> </p> </fieldset> <% } %> <div> <%: Html.ActionLink("Back to List", "Index") %> </div> </asp:Content> And here's the controller code: //GET: /Secure/Invoices/LogHours/ public ActionResult LogHours(int id) { var invoice = DataContext.InvoiceData.Get(id); if (invoice == null) { throw new Exception("Invoice not found with id: " + id); } return View(invoice); } //POST: /Secure/Invoices/SaveHours/ [AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Post)] public ActionResult SaveHours([Bind(Exclude = "InvoiceLogs")]Invoice invoice) { TryUpdateModel(invoice.InvoiceLogs, "InvoiceLogs"); invoice.UpdateDate = DateTime.Now; invoice.DeveloperID = DeveloperID; //attaching existing invoice. DataContext.InvoiceData.Attach(invoice); //save changes. DataContext.SaveChanges(); //redirect to invoice list. return RedirectToAction("Index"); } And the data access code: public static void Attach(Invoice invoice) { var i = new Invoice { InvoiceID = invoice.InvoiceID }; db.Invoices.Attach(i); db.Invoices.ApplyCurrentValues(invoice); } In the SaveHours action, it properly sets the values of the InvoiceLog entities after I call TryUpdateModel but when it does SaveChanges it doesn't update the database with the new values. Also, if you manually update the values of the InvoiceLog entries in the database and then go to this page it doesn't populate the textboxes so it's clearly not binding correctly. Thanks, Justin

  • MVC Html.textbox/dropdown/whatever won't refresh on postback

    - by Cynthia
OK, let's start with the Html.Textbox. It is supposed to contain text read from a file. The file read is based on what the user picks from a dropdown list. The first time it is fine. The user picks a value from the dropdown list. The controller uses that value to read some text from a file, and returns that text to the view via the view model. Everything is fine. THen the user picks another value from the dropdown list. The controller reads a new value from a file and returns it via the view model. Debugging to the LINE BEFORE THE HTML.TEXTBOX is set in the view shows that the model contains the correct value. However, the textbox itself still shows the PREVIOUS value when the page displays! If I switch from Html.Textbox to a plain input, type="text" html control, everything works fine. That's not so hard, but the same thing happens with my dropdown list -- I can't set the selected value in code. It always reverts to whatever was chosen last. Rendering a "select" tag with a dynamically-generated option list is a pain. I would love to be able to use Html.Dropdown. What am I missing here?? This is such a simple thing in webforms!

  • HTML.CheckBox persisting state after POST - Refresh ModelState?

    - by Kirschstein
I have a form that's made up of many items (think order items on an amazon order). Each row has a checkbox associated with them so the user can select many items and click 'remove'. The form is built up a bit like this; <% for (int i = 0; i < Model.OrderItems.Count; i++) { %> <tr> <td><%= Html.Hidden(String.Format("OrderItems[{0}].Id", i), Model.OrderItems[i].Id)%> <%= Html.CheckBox(String.Format("OrderItems[{0}].Checked", i), Model.OrderItems[i].Checked)%></td> <td><%= Html.TextBox(String.Format("OrderItems[{0}].Name", i), Model.OrderItems[i].Name)%></td> <td><%= Html.TextBox(String.Format("OrderItems[{0}].Cost", i), Model.OrderItems[i].Cost)%></td> <td><%= Html.TextBox(String.Format("OrderItems[{0}].Quantity", i), Model.OrderItems[i].Quantity)%></td> </tr> <% } %> The model binder does its magic just fine and the list is correctly populated. However, after I process the request in the action (e.g. remove the appropriate items) and return a new view containing fewer items, the state of the form is 'semi' persisted. Some check boxes remain checked, even though in the edit model all the bools are set to false. I don't have this problem if I return a RedirectToActionResult, but using that as a solution seems a bit of a hacky work around. I think I need to flush/refresh the ModelState, or something similiar, but I'm unsure of the terms to search for to find out how.

  • ASP.Net UpdatePanel, want to have html-tag as a parameter

    - by Nordis
This is my problem, I have one textbox, one button and one label. Everything is inside an updatepanel. Let's say I want to test if a valid html-tag is entered in the textbox when I press the button. In the code-behind I have a method for that. Everythings works just fine, except when I actually enter a html-tag in my textbox. If I test < html, it works. But not if I test . So my question is, doesn't the updatepanel accept html-tags as parameters? Because my breakpoint for the button_click doesn't triggers. Sorry for my bad english.. :)

  • Load testing multipart form

    - by JacobM
I'm trying to load-test a Rails application using JMeter. A critical part of the application involves a form that includes both text inputs and file uploads. It works fine in a browser, but when I try to post that page in JMeter, Rails is saving all of the parts of the multipart form as temp files, which causes things to break when it's looking for a string and gets a tempfile instead. It appears that the difference is that, from a browser, the piece of the multipart request that contains a text input looks like this: -----------------------------7d93b4186074c Content-Disposition: form-data; name="field_name" test -----------------------------7d93b4186074c while from JMeter it looks like this: -----------------------------7d159c1302d0y0 Content-Disposition: form-data; name="field_name" Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit test -----------------------------7d159c1302d0y0 So apparently Rails sees the former and interprets it as a plain text value and treats it as a string, but sees the latter and saves it to a temp file. I have not been able to find a setting to convince JMeter not to send the additional headers in the multipart form for non-file fields. Is there a way to convince Rails to ignore those headers and treat the text/plain text as strings instead of text files? Or a quick way to put a filter in front of my controller that will strip the extra headers? Alternately, is there a better tool to load-test a Rails application that includes file upload?

  • Success function not being called when form is submitted. jQuery / validationEngine / PHP form proce

    - by Tom Hartman
    Hi, I've been trying to figure out why the following script's success function isn't running. Everything in my form works perfectly, and the form contents are being emailed correctly, but the success function isn't being called. If anyone could review my code and let me know why my success function isn't being called I would very much appreciate it! Here is the HTML form with notification divs, which are hidden via css: <div id="success" class="notification"> <p>Thank you! Your message has been sent.</p> </div> <div id="failure" class="notification"> <p>Sorry, your message could not be sent.</p> </div> <form id="contact-form" method="post" action="" class="jqtransform"> <label for="name">Name:</label> <input name="name" id="name" type="text" class="validate[required] input" /> <label for="company">Company:</label> <input name="company" id="company" type="text" class="input" /> <label for="phone">Phone:</label> <input name="phone" id="phone" type="text" class="input" /> <label for="email">Email:</label> <input name="email" id="email" type="text" class="validate[required,email] input" /> <div class="sep"></div> <label for="subject">Subject:</label> <input name="subject" id="subject" type="text" class="validate[required] input" /> <div class="clear"></div> <label for="message">Message:</label> <textarea name="message" id="message" class="validate[required]"></textarea> <div id="check-services"> <input type="checkbox" name="services[]" value="Contractor Recommendation" /> <div>Contractor Recommendation</div> <input type="checkbox" name="services[]" value="Proposal Review" /> <div>Proposal Review</div> <input type="checkbox" name="services[]" value="Existing Website Review" /> <div>Existing Website Review</div> <input type="checkbox" name="services[]" value="Work Evaluation" /> <div>Work Evaluation</div> <input type="checkbox" name="services[]" value="Layman Translation" /> <div>Layman Translation</div> <input type="checkbox" name="services[]" value="Project Management" /> <div>Project Management</div> </div> <div class="sep"></div> <input name="submit" id="submit" type="submit" class="button" value="Send" /> <input name="reset" id="reset" type="reset" class="button" value="Clear" onclick="$.validationEngine.closePrompt('.formError',true)" /> </form> Here is the javascript: // CONTACT FORM VALIDATION AND SUBMISSION $(document).ready(function(){ $('#contact-form').validationEngine({ ajaxSubmit: true, ajaxSubmitFile: 'lib/mail.php', scroll: false, success: function(){ $('#success').slideDown(); }, failure: function(){ $('#failure').slideDown(); $('.formError').animate({ marginTop: '+30px' }); } }); }); And here is my PHP mailer script: <?php $name = $_POST['name']; $company = $_POST['company']; $phone = $_POST['phone']; $email = $_POST['email']; $subject = $_POST['subject']; $message = $_POST['message']; $services = $_POST['services']; $to = '[email protected]'; $subject = 'THC - Contact'; $content .= "You received a message from ".$name.".\r\n\n"; if ($company): $content .= "They work for ".$company.".\r\n\n"; endif; $content .= "Here's the message:\r\n\n".$message."\r\n\n"; $content .= "And they are interested in the services below:\r\n\n"; $content .= implode("\r\n",$services); if ($phone): $content .= "\r\n\nYou can reach them at ".$phone."."; else: $content .= "\r\n\nNo phone number was provided."; endif; $headers = "From: ".$name."\r\n"; $headers .= "Reply-To: ".$email."\r\n"; if (mail($to,$subject,$content,$headers)): return true; else: return false; endif; ?>

  • Creating a form for editing embedded documents with MongoMapper

    - by Luke Francl
I'm playing around with MongoMapper but I'm having trouble figuring out how to create a form for an object that has embedded documents. With ActiveRecord, I'd use fields_for but when asked if this would be supported a few months ago, MongoMapper author John Nunemaker wrote: "Nope and nope. It is really [not] that hard with attr_accessor's." OK, fair enough, but how do you write the form for this to work? I'm not interested in using the nested form implementations that are out there because I want to do this the "normal" way as I'm learning about MongoMapper. My model is simple enough - I've got a Person with embedded documents for email addresses, phone numbers, etc. I do not care about updating existing embedded documents. They can be re-created from the form input each time a Person is edited.

  • Specify Action on sub-controller when using Html.RenderAction

    - by iammaz
I have a UserControl that I call with Html.RenderAction(...), so far so good.. Then I want to specify in the user control, which action should be used Html.BeginForm("DeleteComment", "Comments", new { Id = "frmDelete" }, FormMethod.Post);%> <%= Html.SubmitImage( "imgbtnDelete", "/image.png", new { ... })%> <% Html.EndForm(); %> And therein lies my problem; this calls the user control's controller/action. What I want to happen is to call the pages action first and then be able to specify what action to call on the user control's controller. Is this possible?? Thanks from an MVC noob

  • What is the best way to route a static controller in Rails?

    - by yuval
I have a static_controller that is in charge of all the static pages in the site and works as follows in routes.rb: map.connect ':id', :controller => 'static', :action => 'show' I have a static page called about that among other information, has a contact form. I currently have a contacts_controller that is in charge of inserting the contact information to the database. Inside my routes.rb file, I have: map.resources :contacts My contact form (simplified) looks like this: <% form_for @contact do |f| %> <p class="errors"><%= f.error_messages %></p> <p> <%= f.label :first_name %> <%= f.text_field :first_name %> </p> <p class="buttons"><%= f.submit %></p> <% end %> Which in turn submits to the create action of my contacts_controller. My create action looks like this: def create @contact = Contact.new(params[:contact]) if @contact.save flash[:notice] = "Email delivered successfully." end redirect_to "about" end The problem is, is the that when I redirect back to my about page the error_messages for the form get lost (since the error_messages for the form only exist for one request, and that request ends upon redirect). How would I go about preserving the error_messages and still linking the users back to the about static url? Would a session/flash be sufficient (if so, what code would I use to pass error messages) or am I going about this whole thing wrong? Thanks!

  • How to use Zend Framework Form Hash (token) with AJAX

    - by nvoyageur
I have included Zend_Form_Element_Hash into a form multiplecheckbox form. I have jQuery set to fire off an AJAX request when a checkbox is clicked, I pass the token with this AJAX request. The first AJAX request works great, but the subsequent ones fail. I suspect it may be once the token has been validated it is then removed from the session (hop = 1). What would be your plan of attack for securing a form with Zend Framework Hash yet using AJAX to complete some of these requests?

  • Get the string representation of a jquery DOM object's entire HTML

    - by Scozzard
Hi, I have had a bit of a look around and am having some difficulty solving a wee issue I am having. I basically have a string of HTML, I convert that to a JQuery DOM object so that I can easily remove all elements that have a certain class using JQuery's .remove(). I.e., var radHtml = editor.get_html(); var jqDom = $(radHtml); $(".thickbox", jqDom).remove(); $(".thickboxcontent", jqDom).remove(); editor.set_html(this.innerHTML); NOTE: The HTML is derived from content in a RADEditor text editor so there are no parent HTML tags, so can look as follows: <p>This is a header</p> <p>this is some content followed by a table </p> <a href="#TB_inline?height=350&amp;width=400&amp;inlineId=myOnPageContent0" class="thickbox">Test Thickbox</a> <div id="myOnPageContent0" class="thickboxcontent"> <table class="modal"> <thead> </thead> <tbody> <tr> <td>item</td> <td>result</td> </tr> <tr> <td>item 1</td> <td>1</td> </tr> <tr> <td>item 2</td> <td>2</td> </tr> <tr> <td>item 3</td> <td>3</td> </tr> </tbody> </table> </div> Here is what the jqDom.html() returns from the HTML above: "This is a header" I was wondering if there was an easy way to do this - have some html and remove all elements (in this case divs) that have a certain class (but leaving their contents). JQuery doesnt have to used, but I would like to. Manipulating the DOM object is fine - it is getting the full DOM object in its entirety as a string that I am having the problem with. Any help would be much appreicated. Thanks.

  • asp.net mvc encode on form post

    - by Gidon
Hello, I'm using a rich text editor in my asp.net mvc form (nicedit with a textarea) and when I submit the form on post, because it is not html encoded I get the following message: "A potentially dangerous Request.Form value was detected from the client" . How can I html encode the textarea on post ? I don't want to cancel the validation. Is there a way to use the html.encode helper on submit? Thank you.

  • Remove JQuery validationEngine from form

    - by psynnott
I am using Position Absolute's jQuery validationEngine but I need to remove it after attaching it to a form. I have 2 submit buttons on my form - one for save and one for save as draft. I attach the validationEngine to the form when Save is clicked. If the validation fails, and the user clicks Save as Draft (by passing the validation), the validation engine is still attached to the form from when they clicked "save". What I want to do is: - allow the user to attempt to save - validation fails and error is displayed - and allow them to click save as draft without any validation being performed I tried the unbind function and it appears to work, but it breaks the submit on the button completely. I just want to remove the validationEngine and allow everything else to work as it was. Thanks

  • Calling CONTENT_SCRIPT JS From BROWSER_ACTION Popup HTML

    - by Aristotle
I'm working on a Google Chrome Extension and would like to get an HTML from within my popup HTML to call functions within my loaded javascript file. My manifest follows: { "name": "Extension", "version": "1.0", "description": "Extension", "browser_action": { "default_icon": "icon.png", "default_title": "Ext", "popup": "popup.html" }, "content_scripts": [{ "matches": ["http://*/*"], "css": ["ext.css"], "js": ["jquery.js","scripts.js"] }], "permissions": [ "http://*/*" ] } As you can see I'm loading in a local copy of jQuery, along with another javascript file for my own personal logic. My popup document looks like this: <select id="values"> <option>Foo</option> <option>Bar</option> </select> And the contents of my scripts.js file follow: $(function(){ $("#values").change(function(){ alert("Foo"); }); }); This isn't doing what I expect though - alerting "Foo" anytime I change a value in my popup HTML. How can I get these two files to communicate with eachother? Or can they at all?

  • Logrotate not doing any rotation

I just set up LogRotate on my RHEL6 server so that it rotates my custom Apache log files. However, it doesn't do anything when i try manually running it. I expect it to rotate the log files "access.log" and "err.log". They have been there for a few days and need to be rotated. Here is the output: [root@pc1 httpd]# logrotate -d -f /etc/logrotate.d/apache reading config file /etc/logrotate.d/apache reading config info for /var/log/httpd/*log /var/www/html/NSLogs/access.log /var/www/html/NSErrorLogs/err.log Handling 1 logs rotating pattern: /var/log/httpd/*log /var/www/html/NSLogs/access.log /var/www/html/NSErrorLogs/err.log forced from command line (no old logs will be kept) empty log files are rotated, old logs are removed considering log /var/log/httpd/access_log log needs rotating considering log /var/log/httpd/error_log log needs rotating considering log /var/www/html/NSLogs/access.log log needs rotating considering log /var/www/html/NSErrorLogs/err.log log needs rotating rotating log /var/log/httpd/access_log, log->rotateCount is 0 dateext suffix '-20131023' glob pattern '-[0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9]' glob finding old rotated logs failed fscreate context set to unconfined_u:object_r:httpd_log_t:s0 renaming /var/log/httpd/access_log to /var/log/httpd/access_log-20131023 disposeName will be /var/log/httpd/access_log-20131023.gz running postrotate script running script with arg /var/log/httpd/access_log: " /usr/bin/killall -HUP httpd " compressing log with: /bin/gzip removing old log /var/log/httpd/access_log-20131023.gz error: error opening /var/log/httpd/access_log-20131023.gz: No such file or directory rotating log /var/log/httpd/error_log, log->rotateCount is 0 dateext suffix '-20131023' glob pattern '-[0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9]' glob finding old rotated logs failed fscreate context set to unconfined_u:object_r:httpd_log_t:s0 renaming /var/log/httpd/error_log to /var/log/httpd/error_log-20131023 disposeName will be /var/log/httpd/error_log-20131023.gz running postrotate script running script with arg /var/log/httpd/error_log: " /usr/bin/killall -HUP httpd " compressing log with: /bin/gzip removing old log /var/log/httpd/error_log-20131023.gz error: error opening /var/log/httpd/error_log-20131023.gz: No such file or directory rotating log /var/www/html/NSLogs/access.log, log->rotateCount is 0 dateext suffix '-20131023' glob pattern '-[0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9]' glob finding old rotated logs failed fscreate context set to unconfined_u:object_r:httpd_sys_rw_content_t:s0 renaming /var/www/html/NSLogs/access.log to /var/www/html/NSLogs/access.log-20131023 disposeName will be /var/www/html/NSLogs/access.log-20131023.gz running postrotate script running script with arg /var/www/html/NSLogs/access.log: " /usr/bin/killall -HUP httpd " compressing log with: /bin/gzip removing old log /var/www/html/NSLogs/access.log-20131023.gz error: error opening /var/www/html/NSLogs/access.log-20131023.gz: No such file or directory rotating log /var/www/html/NSErrorLogs/err.log, log->rotateCount is 0 dateext suffix '-20131023' glob pattern '-[0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9]' glob finding old rotated logs failed fscreate context set to unconfined_u:object_r:httpd_sys_rw_content_t:s0 renaming /var/www/html/NSErrorLogs/err.log to /var/www/html/NSErrorLogs/err.log-20131023 disposeName will be /var/www/html/NSErrorLogs/err.log-20131023.gz running postrotate script running script with arg /var/www/html/NSErrorLogs/err.log: " /usr/bin/killall -HUP httpd " compressing log with: /bin/gzip removing old log /var/www/html/NSErrorLogs/err.log-20131023.gz error: error opening /var/www/html/NSErrorLogs/err.log-20131023.gz: No such file or directory

  • Wordpress form handling

    - by Ron
I need to add a basic form page in the website, that runs on WordPress framework. I have the following raw materials ready: Client side: html form layout, css and jquery validation code. Server side: form handler php function that processes the $_POST[] data. My problem is to integrate this code in the Wordpress framework. I have looked at some plugins but they are doing much more than I would like and also they have their own validation which is cumbersome to change. Could anyone suggest a good form plugin that allows just the framework hooks ? Or is it worthwhile that I should write the plugin myself. Thanks.
