    Hi all: So i have a large(ish) file in a csv format, that contains a column that has html and i need to transform that to plain text (ie readable by people ,ie with no script tags) I dont have much experience with ruby, but it seems like the perfect language to do this The File should still be in a cv format after the parsing ( ie, other columns should nto be disturbed) Helpz?   • Reading html with accented characters from a URL on iPhone

    Hello, I'm having trouble extracting the html from a website which contains accented characters. Specifically, there are French characters on the site. Currently I'm using: NSString* html= [NSString stringWithContentsOfURL: [NSURL URLWithString: url] usedEncoding: &enc error:&error]; to get html from a URL. It works perfectly fine for any sites which are all English, but with a mostly English site with French characters it returns nothing. I've tried a few different types of encoding, but none have worked for me. Any suggestions? Thanks.

  • Non-object when adding code into html

I am getting the following error: Fatal error: Call to a member function error() on a non-object in /home/gamepla3/public_html/football/result.php on line 177 The line for this is <?php echo $form->error("homescore"); ?> I'm failing to see how this could be the case? The thing worked fine before I added working code into my html document so it looked better. Now I can't get it working?? EDIT. When the code is not within HTML, it works fine. Once I have it within the HTML, it throws back an error? Has anyone seen anything like this before?

    My Friends, I really want to extract a simple IP address from a string (actually an one-line html) using Python.     Hello my fellow coders, As i notice for a while now (like everybody else in the industry), the RIA market is shifting from AS3/Flex to HTML/Javascript. What i would like to know is? Is html/javascript as powerfull as as3/Flex or are they entirely different. With other words can i build the exact same applictions with HTML(4/5) and Javascript as i can do with AS3/Flex? I'm not looking for the speed comparison? or bashing one technology over the other? I just want to know if is good for me to dive into javascript, JQuery...... PS.     Hi Is it possible to have to make a html for helper in asp.net mvc 2.0 have a default value of "empty string" Like if I do this Html.TextBoxFor( u => u.ProductName) would render to <input id ="ProductName" name="ProdcutName" type="text" value="Jim" /> Now I don't want the textbox to display jim. I want it to display nothing. <input id ="ProductName" name="ProdcutName" type="text" value="" /> I tried to do this Html.TextBoxFor( u => u.ProductName, new { @value = " "}) but that seems to do nothing. So how can I do this. I hope you can do something like this otherwise I think these new helpers have a great flaw since now I need to use like javascript to remove them since I hardly ever want a default value in the textbox especially when I have a label right beside the textbox saying what it is.

    I am looking for suitable replacement code that allows me replace the content inside of any HTML tag that has a certain class e.g. $class = "blah"; $content = "new content"; $html = '<div class="blah">hello world</div>'; // code to replace, $html now looks like: // <div class="blah">new content</div> Bare in mind that: It wont necessarily be a div, it could be <h2 class="blah"> The class can have more than one class and still needs to be replaced e.g. <div class="foo blah green">hello world</div> I am thinking regular expressions should be able to do this, if not I am open to other suggestions such as using the DOM class (although I would rather avoid this if possible because it has to be PHP4 compatible).

    Hello im trying to get the hang of using bb codes onto my normal php site ( not forum or anything just a normal site ) I have seen a few posts like this one http://www.pixel2life.com/forums/index.php?/topic/10659-php-bbcode-parser/ which says i need a bb parser. I was just wondering can anyone show me how i would use one ? I have a status box were users can update there status but i would like to allow bb codes but not java script. So when im doing my inserting into the db i strip the status like so.. $status= mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['status']); $status2= strip_tags($status); And that stops the java script and tags from getting though but i need the bb code tags to come though but carry on blocking the java script code is there anyway to do this ? Also then i just echo it out echo $status2 ; But just plain text shows so was just wondering if anyone knows how to let though bb code and stop java script and could some one show me how to use the bb parasher ? also need to know how to echo out the bb coding...

    I am still trying to figure out how to create reusable partial views in MVC Lets say I would like to create a partial view to display a form for submitting an address. Then in my ViewModel I have two addresses (Home address & Work Address) So I would think that in my view I call HTML.Partial for each one like this @Html.Partial("Address", Model.HomeAddress) @Html.Partial("Address", Model.WorkAddress) but what happens is instead of the fields having names like HomeAddress.Street, HomeAddress.City etc. they just have the regular field names Street, City, etc. so the binder on the HTTPPost action has no idea what to do with them Thanks in advance

I have PHP set up correctly because I have no problem running .php files. The problem, it seems to me, is that IIS can't render php code embedded inside html. Does anyone know how to fix this problem or should i switch to Apache?

  • Launching default browser with html from file, then jump to specific anchor

    I need to open an html file from the program root directory and have it jump to a specified anchor. I can open the file perfectly fine with a simple System.Diagnostics.Process.Start("site.html") but as soon as I try to add the anchor to the end it ceases to be able to find the file. I was able to put the anchor in there and still have it launch with string Anchor Anchor = "file:///" + Environment.CurrentDirectory.ToString().Replace("\", "/") + "/site.html#Anchor"; System.Diagnostics.Process.Start(Anchor); However as soon as the browser launches it drops the anchor. Any suggestions?

Can I use a HTML/JS/CSS - C# combination with event handlers and all? Something like ASP.NET Webforms/MVC . I know it is not the same client server architecture, but since metro styled apps support HTML/JS, I was wondering. I can use Win-JS. But can I rather write C# than Javascript, and use HTML rather than XAML?(I dont know XAML and I like C#) All the C# samples I found online use XAML.

    Using jQuery to create new DOM elements from text. Example: jQuery('<div><img src="/some_image.gif"></img></div>'); When this statement is executed, it causes the browser to request the file 'some_img.gif' from the server. Is there a way to execute this statement so that the resulting jQuery object can be used from DOM traversal, but not actually cause the browser to hit the server with requests for images and other referenced content? Example: var jquery_elememnts = jQuery('<div><img class="a_class" src="/some_image.gif"></img></div>'); var img_class = jquery_elememnts.find('img').attr('class'); The only idea I have now is to use regex to remove all of the 'src' tags from image elements and other things that will trigger the browser requests before using jQuery to evaluate the HTML. How can jQuery be used to evaluate HTML without triggering the browser to make requests to the server for referenced content inside the evaluated HTML? Thanks!
