  • how to set tab order in jquery

    - by Martin Ongtangco
    Hello, I'm using Telerik controls, specifically the numerical textbox where you can set a up-down arrow to increment/decrement values in a textbox. I am required to set the tab order to move to the next field but since there's a button on the up-down arrow, the browser will go through those buttons first then move to the next textbox field. How do you set the jquery to detect the next visible textbox/dropdown/etc input field and move to that on pressing the tab button instead of running through the buttons near it?

  • Append/Add Child Div (jQuery) for Messaging System

    - by Lord Varlin
    So, I'm having difficulty trying to append/add a child div to the parent div, and thought someone out here may know the best way for me to go about this. I have attached my code (without PHP right now, just hard coding text and stuff). But here is what I am trying to do: When a message is posted, you hit the "Reply Button" and a new div will appear underneath containing the reply form. Right now, here are the issues I know about and can't get around: The DIV is a class, so when I use jQuery to try to target the DIV it targets everything since it's no unique. The Reply Button is also a class, so it's not unique. Here is a video of it in action: http://tinypic.com/r/2luxwnr/7 HTML <body> <div id="content-container"> <div id="message-viewer"> <div class="roar"> <div class="roaractionpanel"> <div id="msg-business2"></div> <div class="roartime"><p class="roartime-text">3:26PM</p></div> </div> <div class="roarcontent"> <button type="submit" class="btn-reply"></button> <h5>Test Post</h5><br> <h6>Lord Varlin</h6><br> <h2>Test post... let's see.</h2> </div> </div> <div class="newreply"> <div class="newreplycontent"> <h1>This is where the fields for a new reply will go.</h1> </div> </div> <div class="roar"> <div class="roaractionpanel"> <div id="msg-business2"></div> <div class="roartime"><p class="roartime-text">3:26PM</p></div> </div> <div class="roarcontent"> <button type="submit" class="btn-reply"></button> <h5>Testing another</h5><br> <h6>Lord Varlin</h6><br> <h2>Hmm dee dumm...</h2> </div> </div> <div class="roarreply"> <div class="roarreply-marker"> <p class="roarreplytime-text">June 26th @ 4:42AM</p> </div> <div class="roarreplycontent"> <h9>Testing a reply. Hmmmm.</h9><br> <h8>Lord Varlin</h8> </div> </div> <div class="newreply"> <div class="newreplycontent"> <h1>This is where the fields for a new reply will go.</h1> </div> </div> <div class="roar"> <div class="roaractionpanel"> <div id="msg-business2"></div> <div class="roartime"><p class="roartime- text">3:26PM</p></div> </div> <div class="roarcontent"> <button type="submit" class="btn-reply"></button> <h5>Testing another</h5><br> <h6>Lord Varlin</h6><br> <h2>jQuery, work with me please.</h2> </div> </div> <div class="roarreply"> <div class="roarreply-marker"> <p class="roarreplytime-text">June 26th @ 4:42AM</p> </div> <div class="roarreplycontent"> <h9>Testing a reply. Hmmmm.</h9><br> <h8>Lord Varlin</h8> </div> </div> <div class="roarreply"> <div class="roarreply-marker"> <p class="roarreplytime-text">June 26th @ 4:42AM</p> </div> <div class="roarreplycontent"> <h9>Testing a reply. Hmmmm.</h9><br> <h8>Lord Varlin</h8> </div> </div> <div class="newreply"> <div class="newreplycontent"> <h1>This is where the fields for a new reply will go.</h1> </div> </div> </div> </div> </body> JQUERY $(".btn-reply").click(function() { $(".newreply").toggleClass("show"); return false; }); So, I see the flaws, but I just can't wrap my head around how to pull this off! Any guidance would be awesome! :)

EDIT: I guess I want to create something just like the stackoverflow star or gmail inbox star. I have a set of list items that i've added several controls to. One being a checkbox (for archiving, or batch deleting) and another I have a placeholder checkbox for favoriting. I'm just curious as to what the best approach is for making it snazzy with jquery.

  • jquery css menu not selecting the active link

    - by Ronedog
    What is wrong with this and how could I fix it. I have css menu (horizontal) that I want the background and font to be changed when one of the items is selected. I found another post that gave me some jquery code to help make it work, and I thought I had it coded right, but when I click on an item to change its class it adds the class, but the background and font stay the same? Any ideas here? Heres the HTML <ul id="menu_nav" class="buttons"> <li> <a href="#" onclick="' . $menu_path . '">Item 1</a> </li> <li> <a href="#" onclick="' . $menu_path . '">Item 2</a> </li> <li> <a href="#" onclick="' . $menu_path . '">Item 3</a> </li> </ul> Heres the CSS: ul#menu_nav { float:left; width:790px; padding:0; margin:0; list-style-type:none; background-color:#000099; } ul#menu_nav a { float:left; text-decoration:none; color:white; background-color:#000099; padding:0.2em 0.6em; border-right:1px solid #CCCCCC; font-family: Tahoma; font-size: 11px; font-style: normal; font-weight: bold; position: relative; height: 21px; line-height:1.85em; } ul#menu_nav a:hover { background-color:#F1F4FE; color:#000099; border-top:1px solid #CCCCCC; } ul#menu_nav li {display:inline;} .selected { background-color:#F1F4FE; color:#000099; border-top:1px solid #CCCCCC; } Here's the Jquery: $(function(){ $(".buttons li>a").click(function(){ $(this).parent().addClass('selected'). // <li> siblings().removeClass('selected'); }); });

  • how to fetch a url with javascript/jquery?

    - by fayer
    i need to fetch a url with javascript/jquery and not php. i've read that you could do that if you got a php proxy, but that means that it is still going through php. cause then it's still the ip of the server that is fetching it. could one fetch the url entirely with only front-end, and thus fetch it with the client's ip?

  • IE-only Styling for jQuery qTip

    - by Kevin C.
    I'm using jquery.qTip on http://comps.gunnjerkens.com/phws/services/ Looks beautiful with the drop shadow and rounded borders in modern browsers...unfortunately the drop shadow is lost on IE. So I want to specify an IE-only rule that makes the border a different color than white. Here's how I currently have it setup: $(this).qtip({ content: the_content, position: { corner: { target: 'bottomLeft', tooltip: 'topLeft' }, adjust: { screen: true } }, style: { border: { radius: 4, color: '#FFFFFF' }, color: '#7D9240' } }); // qtip() }); I appreciate any help!

    - by xyzzy
    I have a bunch of images that are in a hidden div. The div is shown when the user clicks on some links. I'd like to jQuery lazyload to hide these images until the link is clicked and the hidden div is exposed. But, if I use lazyload according to the documentation, the images are always loaded as the hidden div is in the viewport, presumably. any ideas?

  • jQuery - Shadowbox rebinding

    - by teepusink
    Hi, How do I bind / initialize Shadowbox to content loaded by jQuery using AJAX? Right now shadowbox works when I first come into the site. However, when I swap the content with a new one loaded through AJAX, these new batch of content doesn't do the shadowbox popup, instead it just redirect to the content. I have Shadowbox.init(shadowbox_conf); in the success but it doesn't seem to do the trick. Thanks, Tee

  • jquery finish one animation then start the other one

    - by Emin
    I have one two divs and two seperate links that triggers slideDown and slideUp for the divs. When one of the divs are slided down and I click the other one, I hide the first div (slidingUp) and then open the other div (slidingDown) but, at the moment its like while one div is sliding down, the other, also in the same time, is sliding up. is there a way that would tell jquery to wait to finish sliding down of one div and only then start sliding up the other ?

  • jQuery toggle div from select option

    - by Jeffrey
    I'm in need to toggle divs from a dropdown select option box. I'd like it similar to asmselect for jquery but instead of listing the option tag I'd like it to display a hidden div. Is there anything like this out there? Or anyone know how to set it up? Thanks, Jeff.
