  • iPhone. Open application during call

    - by immuner
Is there any way to do this? In other words, is it possible during a call to allow the user to open a certain application? (for example, to provide information based on the person who is calling). If not, will something like this be available on iOS 4?

  • vim - open file with complete path

    - by David Oneill
If I have a file that contains a complete path for a file, is there a way to highlight the filename (using visual mode) and open the file? (preferably in a split screen) As I think about it, here is what I would like: if the file name contains a / character, assume it is a full path (IE the 'current directory' is root). Otherwise, use the current folder (IE default behavior) Is this possible?

  • How to determine which ports are open/closed on a FIREWALL?

    - by Rahl
It seems no one has asked this question before (most regard host-based firewalls). Anyone familiar with port scanning tools (e.g. nmap) knows all about SYN scanning, FIN scanning, and the like to determine open ports on a host machine. Question is though, how do you determine the open ports on a firewall itself (disregard whether the host you're trying to connect to behind the firewall has those particular ports open or closed). This is assuming the firewall is blocking your IP connection. Example: We all communicate with serverfault.com through port 80 (web traffic). A scan on a host would reveal port 80 is open. If serverfault.com is behind a firewall and still allows this traffic through, then we can assume the firewall has port 80 open also. Now let's assume the firewall is blocking you (e.g. your IP address is under the deny list or is missing in the allowed list). You know port 80 has to be open (it works for appropriate IP addresses), but when you (the disallowed IP) attempt any scanning, all port scan attempts on the firewall drop the packet (including port 80, which we know to be open). So, how might we accomplish a direct firewall scan to reveal open/closed ports on the firewall itself, while still using the disallowed IP?

  • Problem with Entity Framework : "The underlying provider failed on Open"

    - by pokrate
Hi, When I try to insert a record, I get this error : The underlying provider failed on Open. This error occurs only with IIS and not with VWD 2008's webserver. In the EventViewer I get this Application Error : Failed to generate a user instance of SQL Server due to a failure in starting the process for the user instance. The connection will be closed. [CLIENT: ] <add name="ASPNETDBEntities" connectionString="metadata=res://*/Models.FriendList.csdl|res://*/Models.FriendList.ssdl|res://*/Models.FriendList.msl;provider=System.Data.SqlClient;provider connection string=&quot;Data Source=.\SQLEXPRESS;AttachDbFilename=|DataDirectory|\ASPNETDB.MDF;Integrated Security=True;Connect Timeout=30;User Instance=True;MultipleActiveResultSets=True&quot;" providerName="System.Data.EntityClient" /> I am using aspnetdb.mdf file, and not any external database. I have searched enough for this, but no use. Everything works fine with VWD webserver

  • Open payment gateway libraries for Java, Python, Ruby, and PHP

    - by Tauren
I'm looking for generic and open source payment libraries that support many different payment processor APIs. In other words, I'd like to develop an application using a single payment processing API, but be able to easily switch between payment gateways, such as Authorize.Net, Payflow Pro, Braintree, PayPal, Google, Amazon, etc. This question gives some Java solutions, but the suggestions all look horrible. Isn't there anything more like ActiveMerchant for Java? I really need a good Java solution, to the point of building my own if necessary. But I don't want to reinvent the wheel if it exists. Are there any solutions for Python or PHP? Ideally, I'd like to find something similar to Ruby's ActiveMerchant, which looks exceptionally complete. Are there any other Ruby solutions?

  • Open Financial Exchange (OFX) Banking API

    - by Gabriel Susai
Hi, First of all I apologize if this question is asked before. I am planning to develop a small application which displays my bank account details(like Mint.com) where I can customize the display of my own. I want to know how and where to start. Where these OFX API's are available? Are they free or we need to pay and get access to those API? What is data format ( xml, xml/atom, json) ? Any article or document to understand this requirement and start developing? Any open source software where I can download the code and customize it? FYI : I am working on C#.Net. Any help would be appreciated. Edit : Mark : Thanks for you info. If I want to develop a application like Mint.com what are the other companies provide API's other than Yoodlee? Also any idea on the pricing? Thanks Gabriel Susai

  • LINK : fatal error LNK1104: cannot open file "Iphlpapi.lib"

    - by Rob
So I'm using Visual C++ 6.0, and trying to compile some source code, but upon compilation I get this: Linking... LINK : fatal error LNK1104: cannot open file "Iphlpapi.lib" Error executing link.exe. I'm using the correct SDK, and the directories are correct. I've checked, double checked, and triple checked. The file is the specified directory. I can't figure out what the problem is. Any ideas? Service Pack 6 SDK for Windows Server 2003 SP1 //Sounds odd, since I'm running XP SP3, but this has worked for me in the past. Like I've said, it worked in the past for me, flawlessly. I don't understand why it won't work now.

    Hi, Updating an old piece of software but in order to maintain backward compatibility I need to connect to a .mdb (access) database. I am using the following connection but keep getting an exception, why? I have validated the path, database existence etc. and that is all correct. string Server = "localhost"; string Database = drive + "\\btc2\\state\\states.mdb"; string Username = ""; string Password = "Lhotse"; string ConnectionString = "Data Source = " + Server + ";" + "Initial Catalog = " + Database + ";" + "User Id = '';" + "Password = " + Password + ";"; SqlConnection SQLConnection = new SqlConnection(); try { SQLConnection.ConnectionString = ConnectionString; SQLConnection.Open(); } catch (Exception Ex) { // Try to close the connection if (SQLConnection != null) SQLConnection.Dispose(); // //can't connect // // Stop here return false; }

  • SWT Filedialog Open into home folder

    - by Ivan
I want to open a FileDialog window into the user home folder (i.e. /home/user or /Users/unsername) I read the user home folder, using System.getProperty: String homefolder = System.getProperty(user.home); And the variable containts the correct home folder. But when i set the filterpath in FileDialog, it opens (in linux) only the /home level not entering into the user home dir. This is the source code: FileDialog dialog = new FileDialog(shell); dialog.setText("Choose a certificate"); String platform = SWT.getPlatform(); String homefolder = System.getProperty("user.home"); dialog.setFilterPath(homefolder); Any idea? • Error Using PDCurses: Cannot Open File Libc.C

    - by cam
I'm getting the error: 1>LINK : fatal error LNK1104: cannot open file 'LIBC.lib' Here's my source code: #include <curses.h> int main() { initscr(); /* Start curses mode */ printw("Hello World !!!"); /* Print Hello World */ refresh(); /* Print it on to the real screen */ getch(); /* Wait for user input */ endwin(); /* End curses mode */ return 0; } I've configured the PDcurses library properly (added to Additional Include libraries, added folder to Additional Library Directories). I've looked around for a bit, and I've tried adding Libc.C to the 'Ignore Library' list, which in turn causes about 150 errors. Not sure what to do from here.

  • Jquery UI Dialog Empty On Auto-Open

    - by user1019588
I am having a somewhat strange error with my jquery dialog. When I have it autoopen, the dialog box is completely empty. If I exit out of the dialog and then reopen (through the standard dialog open event) the content appears. The jquery setup: $("#content_locker").dialog({ autoOpen: true, modal: true, height: 600, width: 800 }); Here you can see the webpage that I am working on (it is a link-shortening service). The dialog div starts on line 148 of the source: <div id="content_locker" title="Exclusive Content"> You will see that the dialog is empty. If you exit out and click on the unlock button, the proper html is there. Any ideas?
