  • How to upload binary (audio) data from a Flash AS3 client to .NET server (WCF/REST/HTTP/?)?

    Simply stated: I'm trying to record audio in a browser, and get that data back up to the server. I originally tried to capture, encode and upload the audio using Silverlight, but because of the lack of suitable client-side encoding options, I'm now giving Flash a shot (Flash has baked-in support for encoding to Speex). I think I've figured out how to capture and encode the audio... But now what was easy in Silverlight, is the challenge in Flash. My server-side is .NET: MVC2- I'm open to receiving the audio in whatever manner is best- REST, WCF.. So that's my question: How could one upload binary data from Flash, to a .NET server-side endpoint. If the answer is WCF: then how would one setup the client-side proxies to communicate with the service? If the answer is REST or HTTP Post, then how would one construct this HTTP request and pass along the data? I've been reading up on AS3, but am new to Flash dev... Thanks for any help!

  • Deserialization on client side in Domain Service

    I have 2 classes: Person and Contact. Person class has a property named ContactNumber which returns the Contact type, and this property is marked as a DataMember for serialization. I have marked Contact type as a DataContract. On the client side I am able to get the values, but when I try to insert a value and then do submit, I get the following exception: Failed to deserialize change-set. Failed to convert value of type 'Dictionary`2' to type 'Contact' Stack Trace is: at System.Web.Ria.DataServiceSubmitRequest.GetChangeSet(DomainService domainService) at System.Web.Ria.DataServiceSubmitRequest.Invoke(DomainService domainService) at System.Web.Ria.DataService.System.Web.IHttpHandler.ProcessRequest(HttpContext context) Can anyone give me the solution ?

    Hi, I want to create a php webservice server to be used from a C# application. I want to have a library who autogenerate wsdl file for easy management (That's the reason why I choosed NuSoap). I tried to use nusoap on PHP5. I have some problems with charset and Content-Type. Visual Studio gives this error : The HTML document does not contain Web service discovery information. Metadata contains a reference that cannot be resolved: 'https://www.xxx.yy'. There is a problem with the XML that was received from the network. See inner exception for more details. The encoding in the declaration 'ISO-8859-1' does not match the encoding of the document 'utf-8'.   • Windows service threading call to WCF service

    Hi, I have a windows service that is reading data from a database and then submitting it to a WCF serivce. Once that has finished it is stamping a processed date on the original record. Trouble I am currently having is to do with threading. The call to the WCF serivce is relatively long and I want to have a number of concurrent calls to the service to help improve the throughput of the windows service. Currently I have a submitToService method on a new worker class. Upon reading a new row from the database I am creating a new thread which is calling this method. This obviously isn't too good as the number of threads quickly shoots up and overburdens the WCF service. I have put a thread.sleep in the submit method and am sure to call System.Threading.Thread.CurrentThread.Abort(); after the submission has finished. However, I don't seem to see the number of threads go down. How can I just have a fixed number of threads that can be used in the windows service? I did think about using a thread pool but read somewhere that wasn't a good choice for a windows service. Thanks very much.

  • How can I have a Visual Studio Report(.rdlc) with account information and also a chart in the same r

    I'm working on a report in Visual Studio 2008 with their Report tooling and I'm not sure how to approach this conceptually. I have a report I want to generate. At the top of the report will be a bunch of information about a customer of our site (Name, Address, Phone). Then below will be a chart of the purchases that customer has each month. My problem is that I want the content at the top of the page to use a query that selects from my Users table in my database. But then I need another query that gets all of the purchases grouped by month. I've thought one way to approach this would be to place a subreport on the parent report that only contained the chart. The parent report would have the details of the account. Is this the correct approach?

    Firstly, I am not at all familiar with windows batch file programing. Recently I am curious about how tomcat sets itself as a windows service using a batch file. I downloaded the service.bat file from tomcat 6. However, I still don't understand some part of it. I guess this is the line that the batch actually register the exe file to the OS, is it right? Is there any syntax explanation?     I am working on deploying the WAR file to AWS using Maven. I am planning to use 'mvn deploy' for the same which would ssh the war file to AWS. I am following http://maven.apache.org/plugins/maven-deploy-plugin/examples/deploy-ssh-external.html. This is my POM file <project> ... <distributionManagement> <repository> <id>ssh-aws</id> <url>scpexe://<ec2 instance>.compute-1.amazonaws.com</url> </repository> </distributionManagement> <build> <extensions> <!-- Enabling the use of FTP --> <extension> <groupId>org.apache.maven.wagon</groupId> <artifactId>wagon-ssh-external</artifactId> <version>1.0-beta-6</version> </extension> </extensions> </build> .. </project> This is my settings.xml <server> <id>ssh-aws</id> <username>aws-user</username> </server> The only issue is that I am unable to figure out the url in distributionManagement node of pom.xml. I am able to ssh in the AWS server by the following. ssh -i ~/pemfile/pemfile-key.pem aws-user@<ec2 instance>.compute-1.amazonaws.com But when I run mvn clean deploy, I receive this.. Exit code: 1 - Permission denied (publickey). -> [Help 1] Thanks in advance.

We throw a simple exception without any inner/orig exception, but we get this message on the .Net side. Additional XML content is present in the fault detail element. Only a single element is allowed. Works fine with a java client, as in we can get the exception message. What can we do?

I've been trying to figure out what some minimum charge examples might look like? I'll have a lamp server with Django and a requisite amount of storage but next to no traffic,,Any one have some guidance/advice? My Google searches and look here did not turn up much useful info?
