    Hi, Although this seems like something very basic, but no matter what I tried I couldn't get my head around it. Basically I want a html form where a user types in their ID number in an input text box and when they hit the submit button it displays their email address which is their company ID number @ company.com, such as below <form action=""> ID Number: <input type="text" name="idnumber" /><br/> <input type="submit" value="Whats my email address" /> </form> <p>Your email address is 'idnumber'@email.com</p> Can this even be done using html or would I need to use Javascript or PHP for it?     I am having application.html where I used jquery.validate.js and it works fine and submit my data to process.php. But I want if there is an error generated by jquery.validate.js then I know the how many errors generated by validate.js in application.php. I am going to implement if there are number of errors generated then uploading function will be disable. If there is no error generated then uploading function will work. I hope this is simple question but I dont know about jquery much. If you have solution then please share it with me. Cheers!!!

    Hi, Not sure if I'll explain this properly but here goes. I having written an asp.net app using C# for the code behind. After the user makes some selection and hits the "run" button I pass off the processing to a dll written in C# but what I want is a way to periodically send information back to the client so they can see what's going on like how many records have been processed and things like that. How can I accomplish this? thanks

    I have a php form with two text boxes and i want to enter the text box values into the database. I have created the table (with two columns namely webmeasurementsuite id and webmeasurements id) I used the following syntax for creating table: CREATE TABLE `radio` ( `webmeasurementsuite id` INT NOT NULL, `webmeasurements id` INT NOT NULL ); Utilising the tutorial in the following link, I wrote the php coding but unfortunately the datas are not getting entered into the database. I am getting an error in the insert sql syntax. I checked it but i am not able to trace out the error.Can anyone correct me?     Hi, I want to store a number of url patterns in my django model which a user can provide parameters to which will create a url. For example I might store these 3 urls in my db where %s is the variable parameter provided by the user: www.thisissomewebsite.com?param=%s www.anotherurl/%s/ www.lastexample.co.uk?param1=%s&fixedparam=2 As you can see from these examples the parameter can appear anywhere in the string and not in a fixed position. I have 2 models, one holds the urls and one holds the variables: class URLPatterns(models.Model): pattern = models.CharField(max_length=255) class URLVariables(models.Model): pattern = models.ForeignKey(URLPatterns) param = models.CharField(max_length=255) What would be the best way to generate these urls by replacing the %s with the variable in the database. would it just be a simple replace on the string e.g: urlvariable = URLVariable.objects.get(pk=1) pattern = url.pattern url = pattern.replace("%s", urlvariable.param) or is there a better way? I am trying to creating a form on Frontpage 2003 and right now all my boxes are all over the place, as shown below: Name: [----] Email: [----] I want the boxes to be like this: Name: [----] Email: [----] I have tried using table to line up the boxes but when it come to giving an ID using the 'Lable' on the 'Form' tool bar by highlighting the text box and 'Name', the table get highlighted and wont create an lable. I just want to line up vertically all the boxes and i am new to web design so i dont understand much about HTML or CSS. I dont think Frontpage 2003 has CSS. Can someone tell me how to line up all my boxes. Many thankz

  • Android: how to have app talk to a web page, ie send gps location

    I'm trying to write a app, where a webpage will have a button that when press will give the GPS location of the phone. I was going to have the android app create a thread that waits on a scket connection. The issue is that 1. Getting the ip addrs of the phone 2. I was told this would really drain the battery I was also thinking about having the phone send the gps location to a webserver like evrry 10 seconds. This sort of seams like a waste of bandwidth. Is there a good way to do this?

    I'm trying to work on my new website Drupal7 while I'm keeping in the hosting my old static website. So I have: index.html (static website. I want to keep for my users) index.php (drupal new installation) Is there a way to set in drupal this kind of situation? The problem, as you problably can see at this point, is that every time I'm going to a different section I'm being redirected to the .html homepage. I mean for example the admin section is: www.mydomain.com/?q=admin instead of www.mydomain.com/index.php?q=admin What's the easiest way to keep the html static web for my current users while I'm developing my drupal7 website in the "background"?

  • Facebook Connect: Redirect to FB login page instead of popup

    I'm just starting of to get Facebook connect to work. One thing that really bugs me, is that when I click the FB login button, it opens up a popup. I would much more prefer to have the user redirected to FB, where he can login and be sent back to my site.     Howdy, folks! First time here -- thought I'd field a question on behalf of a coworker. Somebody in my lab is doing a content analysis (e.g. reading an article or transcript line by line and identifying relevant themes) of the web presences of various privatized neuroimaging centers (e.g. http://www.canmagnetic.com/). She's been c/ping entire site maps by hand, and I know I could slap something together with Python to follow links and dump full text (with line numbers) for her, but I've never actually done anything quite like this.
