    I can't seem to get my <div> height in IE (7) to be shorter than 20px: <div style="background: green; height: 1px;"> </div> Using the above code (both with and without html and body tags) the height of the div cannot seem to drop below a certain value (I think it is 20px). Any ideas?

  • IE8 $('body').width() is 0 on $(window).load()

    On $(document).ready I run through a for loop twice and alert out the body's width ($('body').width();) each time through. I get a value I would expect (ex. 1092). On $(window).load I run through another for loop twice, also alerting out the body's width each time through. I get 0 the first time through (and the page looks completely blank behind the alert), and then a value I would expect the second time through (ex. 1092). This is an issue I am not able to replicate in a stripped-down example, nor any other browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, IE9, IE10). Does anyone have any ideas, or other things that I could test for? I am using $(window).load to cut up some divs based on their width, which is based on their font size, which is based on a webfont (which isn't necessarily loaded by the time $(document).ready fires).

  • Drop down menu going under #main div background in IE 7/8/9

I am going to fit the navigation list items on the header, but when the drop down menu is implemented I'm pretty sure it'll go under the #main div like you see currently. Is there any easy way fix to this? I couldn't find anything related to this from a google search .. was hoping someone could help me out. Below is the relevant CSS .. I tried playing around with z-index with no luck as I was told IE8 renders it strangely. If you have the time please follow the link with IE and leave a response .. I am trying to be as cross-browser compatible as possible and already am at a pretty pathetic start.   • How to have supervisord follows the new unicorn process after USR2 rolling restart?

    I have configured supervisord to track my unicorn server process. When I send USR2 process, this performs a rolling restart. After this operation the old unicorn master have restarted and then changed PID. This caused supervisor to lose track of the unicorn process considering it as EXITED. How can I have supervisord to follow the new unicorn process after this operation ? Unicorn has a PID file available, but I have not found an option in supervisord configuration for this. An other option would be to have supervisord to send itself the USR2 signal, but I don't know how to perform this and whether it will prevent my problem from occurring.

I have some server process which have too many socket files, the wc -l method never return the result. So, what is the efficient way to know how many files opened on a process? Thanks.

  • How to create a new background process in a KSH "while read" loop?

    The following test script has a problem. When I add the line (sleep 5 ) & in the script then the "while read" loop does not read all lines from the file, but only prints the first line. But when I remove the ( sleep 5 ) & from the script, then the script prints all lines as defined in the file. Why the ( sleep 5 ) & causes this? And how to solve the problem?   • Find which files an apache process is writing to?

    We have this apache process which becomes io-bound time to time. Using atop, we can see it is a write operation. Using lsof -p <PID> we can see a list of files open by the httpd process. First we thought "log" files must be the problem. So we turned them off just to test. However write operations still continues. We will continue testing a few other things. For instance we use php session variables a lot. Maybe php session files are getting all the writing. But is there a way to quickly identify files which get written to by the httpd process? This way we can focus our efforts on those files. UPDATE: We used the strace command as suggested. Here are two lines from the output. write(23, "\27\0\0\0\3SET CHARACTER SET utf8", 27) = 27 write(23, "\17\0\0\0\3SET NAMES utf8", 19) = 19 We do not have a mysql process on this server. So is strace also showing what is being written to an ethernet port? UPDATE2: During high io load, the process which consumes most of the write resources gives the following output to strace -e trace=write -p <PID>: --- SIGCHLD (Child exited) @ 0 (0) --- write(9, "!", 1) = 1 write(19, "OPTIONS * HTTP/1.0\r\nUser-Agent: Apache (internal dummy connection)\r\n\r\n", 70) = 70 However I cannot figure out where these are being written to.

  • How to make Solution Explorer behave after clearing search?

    I currently have a VS installation with no extensions to see how that works out. For navigation that means making heavy use of Ctrl+; aka Search Solution Explorer. While the search itself is ok, it has one major drawback for me that makes it a pain to use for me (both with keyboard and mouse): Solution with two projects, one collapsed, one opened: Use Ctrl+; and start typing until match found from collapsed project What I want now is to simply clear the search and return to the previous view. Seems like a pretty standard requirement, no? But there seems to be no such functionality built in. Problem with the current commands that come close (pressing Esc, clicking Back or Home buttons in Solution Explorer Toolbar) is all the same: they have the extremely annoying behaviour that they insist on suddenly uncollapsing the previously collapsed project and track the match found! (Btw the Track Active Item in Solution Explorer option is turned of in the options). This makes no sense from a UX point of view? You select some kind of 'undo' command, the search box clears which is expected, but then suddenly there's an item visible from a previous search: So if the collapsed project has like 50 items in it, solution explorer is now useless visually since it litters the screen with stuff you don't want to see, and worse you have to manually collapse the project again to return to the previous view. Is there a way around this? I thought maybe keyboard shortcuts for Back/Home would be different, but the commands do not seem to be registered. I looked into EnvDTE80.DTE2.ToolWindows.SolutionExplorer but it has no properties/methods that have anything to do with this issue. And somewhere in the tree there is a Microsoft.VisualStudio.PlatformUI.SolutionPivotNavigator which is probably the class responsible for this behaviour, but I have no idea how to access it?

There are a variety of tools available to help you and Support diagnose SOA Suite issues in 11g but it can be confusing as to which tool is appropriate for a particular situation and what their relationships are. This blog post will introduce the various tools and attempt to clarify what each is for and how they are related. Let's first list the tools we'll be addressing: RDA: Remote Diagnostic Agent DFW: Diagnostic Framework Selective Tracing DMS: Dynamic Monitoring Service ODL: Oracle Diagnostic Logging ADR: Automatic Diagnostics Repository ADRCI: Automatic Diagnostics Repository Command Interpreter WLDF: WebLogic Diagnostic Framework This overview is not mean to be a comprehensive guide on using all of these tools, however, extensive reference materials are included that will provide many more details on their execution. Another point to note is that all of these tools are applicable for Fusion Middleware as a whole but specific products may or may not have implemented features to leverage them.     Is there a Windows 7 Explorer keyboard shortcut to set focus to files/folders/content area (depicted below)? This has bothered me for so long... I want to set my explorer window's focus to the files pane (shown below). What's the most efficient way to do that with a keyboard? Here's what I've been doing: - Tab / Shift+Tab to move focus through interactive window elements until it looks like a selection rectangle appears over one of the files in my window. - Alt+V, Alt+D to change appearance setting of a folder contents' icons. Doesn't always work, depending on what's selected at the time.

  • How to restore jump list for Windows Explorer pinned taskbar icon?

    I pinned Windows Explorer's icon to my taskbar months ago, and all worked fine, including jump lists. Note: I changed the default Explorer's folder using the usual trick of changing the GUID in the shortcut. Now, all of a sudden, the jump list is empty, and dropping folders on the pinned icon does not produce any effect, nor recently-opened folders show up in the list (although in the taskbar options I made sure to have it remember recently open items). How can I restore the original functionality, given that all other pinned applications jump lists work correctly? I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate x64, updated with the latest patches. The OS is in US English and my locale is Italian-Italy.

  • Word 97 installed with Outlook XP - Cannot use Word for default editor from Windows Explorer.

    I am using Outlook 2002 (Office XP Update) with Word 97 and Excel 97. (The reason is that Microsoft refused to activate my legit copy of office 2003 when I got a new motherboard, Word XP crashed too much, and I prefer the newer Outlook. I would rather not send Microsoft more money to upgrade since they refuse to activate what I've already purchased. Please don't recommend an upgrade.) Now, I can tell Windows Explorer to use Word 97 to open, for example, a .txt file. But whenever I try to open the text file from Explorer, it either (a) started the Windows XP installer, or (b) tells me that the .txt file is an invalid Win32 application. Is there some way to straighten out the registry without reinstalling Windows XP? Excel 97 and Outlook 2002 are working fine.
