• Display TableViews corresponding to segmentedControl in a single tableview without pushing a new view

  I have a tableViewController where I have used the Interface Builder to insert a Segmented Controller having two segments. Since by default, first segment is always selected, I am not facing any problem in displaying the tableview corresponding to first segment. However, when I click on the second segment, I want to display another tableView. Here goes the problem. I am calling newTableViewController class on clicking the second segment. Hence, this view is getting pushed instead. Please suggest me a method to have these two tableViews in the main tableView upon clicking the segments. I have used switch case for switching between the segments.   I am getting following error each time I tried to select database. The database 'DB Name' is not accessible. (Microsoft.SqlServer.Express.ObjectExplorer) Note: My OS is Win Vista. When I tried to open SQL Mgmt Studio as Run as administrator than I can able to access database properly. Any idea why it is giving error. I am also getting following error when my asp.net application is trying to access database. Cannot open database "DBName" requested by the login. The login failed. Login failed for user 'PCName\abcd'. I am not very good with SQL Server, please let me know how to create user and grant them permission in case that is what causing the problem. Thanks.

  Hi, I was trying to write a small debug utility and for this I need to get the function/global variable address given its name. This is built-in debug utility, which means that the debug utility will run from within the code to be debugged or in plain words I cannot parse the executable file. Now is there a well-known way to do that ? The plan I have is to make the .debug_* sections to to be loaded into to memory [which I plan to do by a cheap trick like this in ld script] .data { *(.data) __sym_start = .; (debug_); __sym_end = .; } Now I have to parse the section to get the information I need, but I am not sure this is doable or is there issues with this - this is all just theory. But it also seems like too much of work :-) is there a simple way. Or if someone can tell upfront why my scheme will not work, it ill also be helpful. Thanks in Advance, Alex.

• "Method name expected" error when trying add a handler method to a delegate - C#

  I keep getting the error "Method name expected" when trying add the a method to a delegate. I have a delegate which is invoked when ever my game ends. The function I'm trying to add to the delegate stops a countdown from flashing (the method is in a static class). I've searched about and I'm still unsure why its not working. Here is the line causing the error: LivesManager.gameEnded += new LivesManager.EndGame(CountdownManager.DisableFlashTimer(this)); The this passes the current form to the method so it can disable the timer flash on the form. I have added methods from static classes to the same delegate before and it works fine, the only difference is that I'm passing the form as a paramater and then it doesn't like it. Is there any way to pass the form to the method without the error? Thanks in advance :)

  I am having trouble passing the return value from TheMethod() to Main and displaying the word if the if statement is passed as true. I have thought of two ways of doing this, neither has worked but I think I am missing synatx. Using a return ?; non void method and then displaying the returned value. Using a void method and actually writing out(example below) So yes I am new at this, however I have made so many iterations everything is blending together and I have forgot what I have tried. Any help on the syntax be great for either of these ways. • jQuery tools modal overlay display problem in IE6-8

  I'm trying to enable the overlay to be modal. It works perfectly fine in FireFox, but the window object is behind the mask when it becomes modal. This prevents any interaction with it and the page is actually useless. I've tried debugging this for a while and can't figure it out.   Firstly, this question requires a bit of introduction so please bear with me. The high level is that I am connecting to a outside web service which will return some XML to my apex controller. The idea is that I want to display the XML returned into a nice tabular format in a VisualForce page. The format of the XML coming back will look something like this: <Wrapper><reportTable name='table_id' title='Report Title'> <row> <Element1><![CDATA[campaign_id]]></Element1> <Element2><![CDATA[577373]]></Element2> <Element3><![CDATA[4129]]></Element3> <Element4 dataFormat='2' dataSuffix='%'><![CDATA[0.7151]]></Element4> <Element5><![CDATA[2010-04-04]]></Element5> <Element6><![CDATA[2010-05-03]]></Element6> </row> </reportTable> ... Now currently I am using the XMLdom utility class (developed by SF for XML functions) to map this data into a custom object "reportTable" which contains a list of "row" custom objects. The reason I am building it out this way is because I don't know how many elements will be in each row, nor the number of rows. The Visualforce page looks something like this: <table><apex:repeat value="{!reportTables}" var="table"> <apex:repeat value="{!table.rows}" var="row"> <tr> <apex:repeat value="{!row.ColumnValue}" var="column"> <apex:repeat value="{!column}" var="value"> <td> <apex:outputText value="{!value}" /> </td> </apex:repeat> </apex:repeat> </tr> </apex:repeat> Questions are: 1) Does this seem like a good approach to the problem? 2) Is there a simpler/better way to consume the XML besides writing my own custom objects to map VF to? Open to any and all suggestions. I really hope there is a better way than building the HTML table myself, as then I also have to deal with styling and alignment etc. Thanks.

  Afternoon all. I have the following scenario: I have a search page where by a client searches for a product from a drop down list, upon clicking a button, a gridview is produced display the spec. What I would like is the functionality for the user to make their selection and a new window pops up with the spec. However, what I would like to happen is that the user can make multiple searches so a number of new windows are opened. i.e. a user searches for egg once, the spec is returned in a new window; they then wish to see the spec for a chicken, so they use the search page to find said chicken, click the button and another new window is shown displaying the chicken's specs. Does anyone know how I can achieve this? Apologies if this is simple stuff, I am just finding my feet.

  I'm struggling to finish a java exercise, it involves using 2d arrays to dinamically create and display a table based on a command line parameter. I found the issue, and it's because the first for loop changes the array order more times than needed and basically it returns as it was at the beginning. I know that probably there's a way to achieve this by writing more code, but i always tend to nest as much as possible to "optimize" the code while i write it, so that's why i tried solving this exercise by using less variables and loops as possible.   i have a problem with my PHP-MSSQL query. i have a join table that need to give a result something be like this: Department Group A Group B Total A+B WORKHOUR A OTHOUR A WORKHOUR B OTHOUR B WORKHOUR OTHOUR HR 10 15 25 0 35 15 IT 5 5 5 5 Admin 12 12 12 12 the query will count how many employee as per given date (admin will enter data and once submitted, the query will give the above result).   I'm working on a customized calculator, which is working pretty well except that I can't figure out how to get the generated numbers to display commas within the number. For example, it might spit out "450000" when I need it to say "450,000". This thread gives a number of suggestions on how to create a new function to deal with the problem, but I'm rather new to JavaScript and I don't really know how to make such a function interact with what I have now.   HP Pavilion dm4 with configuration as shown below cpu intel Core i5 2.26 GHz RAM 4.0 GB Graphics processor 512MB ATI Mobility Radeon(TM) HD 5450 switchable graphics [HDMI, VGA]. I installed ubuntu 10.04 ( without AMD graphics driver) it was working fine, but when I installed AMD graphics drivers AMD Catalyst™ 12.8 Proprietary Linux x86 Display Driver, than the problem started from then When I boot I was get black screen. Than I thought to upgrade from ubuntu 10.04 to 12.04 using the bootable pen drive but was getting black screen than read on some forums that was because of the switchable graphics, than upgraded ubuntu 12.04 by setting to "nomodeset". It was working, again thought to install graphics driver AMD Catalyst™ 12.8 Proprietary Linux x86 Display Driver, again after installing this, when I boot I am getting blank scree . Can anyone help me to inatall ubuntu 12.04 along with AMD Catalyst™ 12.8 Proprietary Linux x86 Display Driver. Any help is highly appreciated.

  I have started Tightvncserver on Lubuntu 12.04 via the command $ tightvncserver -geometry 800x600 -depth 16 :2 VNC server successfully started and I got message like follows. New 'X' desktop is gateway:2 Starting applications specified in /home/dolv/.vnc/xstartup Log file is /home/dolv/.vnc/gateway:2.log Then I've successfully loged in from remote PC using realvncclient. Trying to start Chromium-browser from menu... no luck. There was one more attempt: I opened the LXTerminal from menu. Trying to start is from terminal with the command /usr/bim/chromium-browser & it returned the message like follows: Xlib: extention "RANDR" missing on desktop :2 I have also discovered that after my two attampts the chromium-browser has created 2 new windows on the host on which was session running on display :0 The Question: How to make the browser start on that display from which it was called (in my occasion from vnc session display)?

• What are the pros and cons of non-unique display names?

  I know of at least big title game (Starcraft II) that doesn't require unique display names, so it would seem like it can work in at least some circumstance. Under what situations does allowing non-unique display names work well? When does it not work well? Does it come down to whether or not impersonation of someone else is a problem? The reasons I believe it works for Starcraft II is that there isn't any kind of in-game trading of virtual goods and other than "for kicks" there isn't much incentive to impersonate someone else in the game. There's also ladder rankings so even trying to impersonate a pro is easily detectable unless you're on a similar skill level. What are some other cases where it makes sense to specifically allow or disallow duplicate display names?
