  • Liferay - Custom Authentication Web Service. Do not need user info in liferay db

    Hi, I have followed http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3035932/liferay-custom-authentication-web-service link to customize authentication. But Liferay is still checking whether the same user email id is configured in the liferay db or not. If its not, it is saying that authetication failed. I do not want to keep any user information in the liferay db. Do any one know how to do that? Regards Vishal G

  • How to handle null return from custom HttpHandler in asp.net?

    I'm using a custom ashx HttpHandler to retrieve gif images from a database and show it on a website - when the image exists, it works great. However, there are cases when the image will not exist, and I'd like to have the html table holding the image to become invisible so the "image not found" icon is not shown. But since the HttpHandler is not synchronous, all my attempts checking for image size at Page_Load were frustrated. Any ideas on how this can be accomplished?

    Working on a custom model binder in ASP.NET MVC 2. Most of the time I am binding data from typical form or querystring data. There are times that I end up letting the model binder bind part of an object and get the rest out of session at the controller action level. Does it make better sense to bind the entire object from the model binder (e.g. querystring, form, and session)?

  • Why do custom styled Google Maps (v3) not support marker animation (pin drop)?

    For example, I cannot combine the concepts of this simple example: link text with the concepts of this example: link text, which uses the styled V3 api. In Chrome I get an error saying that: Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'DROP' of undefined And it refers to this line of code: animation: google.maps.Animation.DROP, When I replace the javascript link reference to use the version of the API from the first example, the error goes away, but I lose the custom styling.   • Sidebar with CSS3 transform

    Goal I'm working on a collapsible sidebar using jQuery for animation. I would like to have vertical text on the sidebar that acts as a label and can swap on the animateOut/animateIn effect. Normally I would use an image of the text that I've simply swapped vertically, and switch it out on animation, but with CSS3 transforms I'd like to get it to work instead. Problem The problem I'm facing is that setting the height on my rotated container makes it expand horizontally (as it's rotated 90deg) so that doesn't work. I then tried to set the width (hoping it would expand vertically, acting as height), but that has an odd effect of causing the width of my parent container to expand as well. Fix? Anyone know why this happens and also what the fix/workaround could be without setting max-widths and overflow: hidden? I've got a fairly good understanding of both html elements behavior and css3, but this is stumping me. Live Example Here's a fiddle that demonstrates my problem: Fiddle The collapse-pane class is what I have rotated and contains the span I have my text inside. You'll notice it has a width set, that widens the border, but also affects the parent container.   • IoC Dependancy injection into Custom HTTP Module - how? (ASP.NET)

    Hi, I have a custom HTTP Module. I would like to inject the logger using my IoC framework, so I can log errors in the module. However, of course I don't get a constructor, so can't inject it into that. What's the best way to go about this? If you need the specific IoC container - I'm currently using Windsor, but may soon move to AutoFac. Thanks
