  • "domain crashed" when creating new Xen instance

    I have downloaded a Xen virtual machine image from the appscale project, and I am trying to start it up. However once I run the command; xm create -c -f xen.conf The instance immediately crashes and provides no console output. however it produces logs that I have posted below. but this is the error; [2011-03-01 12:34:03 xend.XendDomainInfo 3580] WARNING (XendDomainInfo:1178) Domain has crashed: name=appscale-1.4b id=10. I have managed to mount the root.img file locally and verify that it is actually an ext3 file system.   • New set up DHCP Server on Server 2008 R2 won't work, Event-ID 1046

    I just set up a 2008 R2 as DC, and DNS. Both worked fine, DNS works fine forward and reverse lookup. Now I wanted to install DHCP. As soon as the installation of the role is finished, I get this Event-ID Error 1046: Link When I first set it up there was also a Event-ID 1059 Error: Link The dhcp server is authorized. I don't know what else I should do. Getting crazy here, hope you guys can help me.

    I have an old NPAPI plugin for OS X that I'm trying to refit for use with Snow Leopard's version of Safari. My problem is that when I switch Safari to 64-bit mode, it changes the plugin environment to out of process mode (where plugins are hosted by a 32-bit WebKitPluginHost process). And now my toolbar palettes are not visible on screen, even though the NSPanels on which they are based think they are visible. The documentation says that bringing up windows is not recommended, but doesn't say its prohibited; is there something I can do to bring up my Windows?

  • Blank white desktop icons on new Windows 7 install

    I just did a fresh install of Windows 7 professional on my father's Toshiba Satellite laptop and everything went smoothly except for the fact that certain desktop shortcuts appear as a blank white page. I've tried: going in and changing the icon to many different things reloading the icon cache by deleting the IconCache.db file uninstalling his Free AVG as he heard the virus scanner might be preventing it (it wasn't and he put it back.) The one thing these icons have in common is that they are shortcuts to some very old DOS executables. One of them is Word Star 2000 to give you an idea. Does anybody have any other suggestions besides what we've tried?

    I have just installed munin-node from the base repo on Fedora 14 and then started it. I found that my munin server is not able to collect data from this node so I tried connecting via telnet to test. I have a swedish keyboard, to get the curly brace '{' I press alt(=option)+shift+8 in mac, but to get the same character in vmware/windows I should press alt+7. Obviously, I would like to have the same keyboard layout in mac and windows, how can I make this happen? I have been recommended to use autohotkey on Windows, but I have a problem mapping AltGr shift 8 to a character (i.e. <^!+8:{ does not work) (I state the question in this forum because I think that only programmers can answer it, we are the only ones that use the characters []{} )

    MONROE - Craigslist is a popular site when trying to find that perfect deal on a rental home or apartment. Experts warn some of these rental ads aren't what they seem. We decided to take a look. On our Craigslist search we found this house for rent. The problem is this home’s not for rent - it's for sale. “I think it’s a huge deal,” said Shane Wooten, the realtor for this home in Monroe. His properties have become the target of a common scam, aimed at taking your money. "It looks like they're trying to scam them out of their deposit and first months rent," adds Wooten. He says scammers copy and paste the sale ad's from legitimate realtor sites to Craigslist as rental ads. "I can usually tell when one hits craigslist because I’ll usually get 20 to 30 phone calls that day." They then pretend to be out of town on business or personal matters, and give only an email address as a point of contact. Usually they'll ask for money up front on a deal too good to miss. "You'll have a house that's supposed to rent for $950-1000 a month, and they'll have it renting for $600 a month,” says Wooten During our conversation, he shows us text messages from one scammer who says he'll mail the keys to this house if Wooten wires money for a deposit and first months rent. Jo Ann Deal of the Better Business Bureau says scammers are getting better at making themselves out to be realtors. "We’re really concerned for our real estate agents with this scam," says Deal. She says that realtors have to be more on top of their vacant homes in order to protect their businesses. So how can you tell if the house you want is really for rent? She says if the home owner lives out of the country, can't meet face to face or asks for a payment through a money wire it's probably a scam. “There are some catch-lines you watch for,” says Deal. “If the marketing is really good but there's no phone number, no physical address and they will communicate with you only by email and you can do it today, then it's probably a scam." You should always report fishy ad's to Craigslist or the BBB and never send money through a wire transfer.

  • New installation - Win 7 or directly Win 8?

    My laptop's hard disk is gone, so I need to re-install my Windows. Would it be a good idea to directly install Win8 (so actually the preview). Is there any known incompatibility with Win7 which would be a show stopper? I have a Dell XPS laptop, I do not expect any driver issues since the series is pretty much mainstream. Would the Win8 preview become Win8 RTM automatically by updates, or would I need to re-install Win8 RTM. This would be the no-go for me. The Win8 preview does not require a key, so I guess it becomes Win 8 RTM and then needs to be activated (which is what I want). Basically the idea is, I have to install windows anyway, so why not using the latest version?

    Since I built my system about 4 weeks ago I'v been getting random freezes, Sometimes it can happen directly after startup and sometimes it wont freeze up for 3-4 days of 24/7 running. It seems to be happening under all stress loads but mainly when the CPU is under 10% load. It doesn't give me a BSOD or anything, it simply just freezes and repeats the last sound before the freeze until I shut it down by the power button. I'v re-seated everything in the system except the CPU, Cleaned the RAM sockets and gold fittings. None of the components have been clocked above their factory settings as of yet, don't want to overclock them until I sort out these freezes. Temps are all well under the rated max temps, the highest the temps have been are below CPU: Low load: 16-21°C Full Load (100%) 40-43°C *(From HWMonitor by CPUID) GPU 1: Low Load: 25-30°C Full Load (100%): 45-50°C GPU 2: Low Load: 23-27°C Full Load (100%): 45-50°C *(GPU Temps from Catalyst Control Center) General Case temps Rear: 18-20°C Mid: 20-21°C Front (HDD/SSD Bays): 14-19°C (Case temps may be a little off as it's from the Kaze master pro fan controller) I have Un-installed EVERY driver for Motherboard, GPU & Soundcard and Re-installed twice. Windows is all up to date.   • HTML table headers always visible at top of window when viewing a large table

    I would like to be able to "tweak" an HTML table's presentation to add a single feature: when scrolling down through the page so that the table is on the screen but the header rows are off-screen, I would like the headers to remain visible at the top of the viewing area. This would be conceptually like the "freeze panes" feature in Excel. However, an HTML page might contain several tables in it and I only would want it to happen for the table that is currently in-view, only while it is in-view. Note: I've seen one solution where the table data area is made scrollable while the headers do not scroll. That's not the solution I'm looking for.

Clearly, MySQL won't let me add the index until all of them are. I need a query to identify the rows which currently have the same index. I can then delete or modify these rows as necessary.
