  Hello, my name is Abdulla and I'm from Kuwait. Sorry for my question as I know its not technically challenging. I'm facing some problems with my internet connection while gaming, I have DSL 2mb connection. My main problem is latency, in the morning its good but after that its gets really bad. My internet provider says there's nothing wrong and that everything is working perfectly. I tried to explain to them the latency issue but they say that as long as I'm getting the download speed there isn't anything I can do about it. I only want to know if this is true and that the company can't do anything before I change my internet provider, as I feel that the guys at the contact center might getting back to me without asking tech support. And it just appears without animation. But if I press a link inside the TTStyledTextLabel the animation works, the navigationItem will be shown. How can I make the animation, the navigationItem and the tabBar be shown?

• h264 RTP timestamp

  Hi Guys, I have a confusion about the timestamp of h264 RTP packet. I know the wall clock rate of video is 90KHz which I defined in the SIP SDP. The frame rate of my encoder is not exactly 30 FPS, it is variable. It varies from 15 FPS to 30 FPS on the fly. So, I cannot use any fixed timestamp. Could any one tell me the timestamp of the following encoded packet. After 0 milisecond encoded RTP timestamp = 0 (Let the starting timestamp 0) After 50 milisecond encoded RTP timestamp = ? After 40 milisecond encoded RTP timestamp = ? After 33 milisecond encoded RTP timestamp = ? What is the formula when the encoded frame rate is variable? Thank you in advance.

• Where is my object allocation and memory leak in this iPhone/objective C code?

  Hello, I'm still a rookie when it comes to this programming gig and was wondering if someone could help me smooth out this code. Functionally, the code works great and does what I need it to do. • Is this so bad when using MySQL queries in PHP?

  I need to update a lot of rows, per a user request. It is a site with products. I could... Delete all old rows for that product, then loop through string building a new INSERT query. This however will lose all data if the INSERT fails. Perform an UPDATE through each loop. This loop currently iterates over 8 items, but in the future it may get up to 15. This many UPDATEs doesn't sound like too good an idea. Change DB Schema, and add an auto_increment Id to the rows. Then first do a SELECT, get all old rows ids in a variable, perform one INSERT, and then a DELETE WHERE IN SET. What is the usual practice here? Thanks

• Removed MAMP from OS X, dyld still using MAMP libraries

  When I try and use a populator or sphinx on a Ruby app I keep receiving dyld errors. I used to use MAMP on OS X Leopard but since I've upgraded to Snow Leopard and am now using standalone MySQL (10.5 64-bit). $ rake ts:index Would return dyld: Library not loaded: /Applications/MAMP/Library/lib/mysql/libmysqlclient.15.dylib Referenced from: /usr/local/bin/indexer Reason: image not found rake aborted! Even though to remove MAMP I just deleted the /Applications/MAMP directory. But it still looks like dylib has references to it. I've tried running: $ sudo update_dyld_shared_cache -verify and restarting but the problem still persists. OS X 10.6.1, MySQL 5.0.85 (x86_64)

  I have to execute an Oracle stored procedure from vba (Excel) with around 38 input parameters. The stored procedure will insert some values in the destination table once that is executed. When it is executed through VBA the number of fields which is inserted is less than when it is executed directly from the backend (oracle). For example it is creating around 17 fields of records while executing directly from the back end. (I have created a wrapper class in the back-end and passing the same parameter values in the back-end.). It is creating around 15 fields of records while executing from the excel VBA in the destination table. Kindly let me know what could be the possible reasons for this.

  Hello, I am using sphinx as a search engine on my website its working perfect and I have no complain with it. The only thing it lacks is, it does not allow me to search articles whose query length is more than 15 words. I know in reality people don't use more than 3-4 words i want to use it for finding duplicate contents. I was wondering if there is any alternative solution to sphinx. I want to cope with duplicate contents. My main articles table is in innodb but I am also caching articles into MyISAM table as well for full text searching but when I search an article it takes ages to perform one search. Its not the query problem, i think mysql lacks the fulltext searching facility. Thanks Jason

• Elasticsearch Shard stuck in INITIALIZING state

  I stopped one of my elastic search node & as a normal behavior elastic search started relocating my shard on that node to another node. But even after 15 hours it is still stuck in INITIALIZING state. Also that shard is fluctuating between two nodes,for some time it stays on one node then automatically shift to another node & keep on doing that after every few hours. Main issue is it is still in INITIALIZING state after so many hours. I am using version 1.2.1. This shard which is stuck, it is a replica. • How do I determine a best-fit distribution in java?

  I have a bunch of sets of data (between 50 to 500 points, each of which can take a positive integral value) and need to determine which distribution best describes them. I have done this manually for several of them, but need to automate this going forward. Some of the sets are completely modal (every datum has the value of 15), some are strongly modal or bimodal, some are bell-curves (often skewed and with differing degrees of kertosis/pointiness), some are roughly flat, and there are any number of other possible distributions (possion, power-law, etc.). I need a way to determine which distribution best describes the data and (ideally) also provides me with a fitness metric so that I know how confident I am in the analysis. Existing open-source libraries would be ideal, followed by well documented algorithms that I can implement myself.

Simon Willison showed an implementation in Python for Django: That doesn't really help me along as I can't use memcached nor Django. Porting his ideas from scratch doesn't seem like a great either - I don't want to reinvent the wheel. I found one Java implementation, though it seems rather naiive: Instead of a LRU cache, it just clears all entries after 15 minutes. EHCache could be an alternative for memcached, but I don't have any experience with it and don't really want to intoduce yet another technology if there are better alternatives for this task. So, whats a good way to implement login throttling in Java?

  I've got an online portfolio that I'm putting up: Image Gallery I've got a php script that selects at most 15 images from a database that contains the urls for the images. e.g. foreach ($database-result as $img) { echo '<a href="path/to/image/' . $img . '">'; ? When the page first loads, the scroll bar expands as if it is loading invisible images (indeed I think that's what it is doing). Then the javascript kicks in and the gallery loads. I have two questions: first, the image loader is not displaying at all. I don't mind if it takes a bit, as long as the user knows the images are loading. Any ideas why it's not showing up? Second, is there a way to speed up the process? Thanks in advance for the help!

• Ubuntu server has slow performance

  I have a custom built Ubuntu 11.04 server with a 6 disk software RAID 10 primary drive. On it I'm primarily running a PostgreSQL and a few other utilities that stream data from the web. I often find after a few hours of uptime the server starts to lag with all kinds of processes. For example, it may take 10-15 seconds after log-in to get a shell prompt. It might take 5-10 seconds for top to come up. An ls might take a second or two. When I look at top there is almost no CPU usage. There's a fair amount of memory used by the PostgreSQL server but not enough to bleed into swap. I have no idea where to go from here, other than to suspect the RAID10 (I've only ever had software RAID 1's before). • Spring Security Issue: Controller, Anonymous Requests...

  Hey guys, I have an app that uses Spring security and BlazeDS. Flex 3.2 is used for the client app. Generally client app makes service calls using RemoteObjects. However, for certain cases client app is sending a request to a URL. We're using Annotated Controllers for URL mapping. • How to optimize simple linked server select query?

  Hello, I have a table called Table with columns: ID (int, primary key, clustered, unique index) TEXT (varchar 15) on a MSSQL linked server called LS. Linked server is on the same server computer. And: When I call: SELECT ID, TEXT FROM OPENQUERY(LS, 'SELECT ID, TEXT FROM Table') It takes 400 ms. When I call: SELECT ID, TEXT FROM LS.dbo.Table It takes 200 ms And when I call the query directly while being at LS server: SELECT ID, TEXT FROM dbo.Table It takes 100 ms. In many places i've read that OPENQUERY is faster, but in this simple case it does not seem to work. What can I do to make this query faster when I call it from another server, not LS directly?
