I have two choices.     I have a table of basketball leagues, a table af teams and a table of players like this: LEAGUES ID | NAME | ------------------ 1 | NBA | 2 | ABA | TEAMS: ID | NAME | LEAGUE_ID ------------------------------ 20 | BULLS | 1 21 | KNICKS | 2 PLAYERS: ID | TEAM_ID | FIRST_NAME | LAST_NAME | --------------------------------------------- 1 | 21 | John | Starks | 2 | 21 | Patrick | Ewing | Given a League ID, I would like to retrieve all the players' names and their team ID from all the teams in that league, so I do this: SELECT t.id AS team_id, p.id AS player_id, p.first_name, p.last_name FROM teams AS t JOIN players AS p ON p.team_id = t.id WHERE t.league_id = 1 which returns: [0] => stdClass Object ( [team_id] => 21 [player_id] => 1 [first_name] => John [last_name] => Starks ) [1] => stdClass Object ( [team_id] => 21 [player_id] => 2 [first_name] => Patrick [last_name] => Ewing ) + around 500 more objects... Since I will use this result to populate a dropdown menu for each team containing each team's list of players, I would like to group my result by team ID, so the loop to create these dropdowns will only have to cycle through each team ID instead of all 500+ players each time. But when I use the GROUP BY like this: SELECT t.id AS team_id, p.id AS player_id, p.first_name, p.last_name FROM teams AS t JOIN players AS p ON p.team_id = t.id WHERE t.league_id = 1 GROUP BY t.id it only returns one player from each team like this, overriding all the other players on the same team because of the use of the same column names. [0] => stdClass Object ( [team_id] => 21 [player_id] => 2 [first_name] => Patrick [last_name] => Ewing ) [1] => stdClass Object ( [team_id] => 22 [player_id] => 31 [first_name] => Shawn [last_name] => Kemp ) etc... I would like to return something like this: [0] => stdClass Object ( [team_id] => 2 [player_id1] => 1 [first_name1] => John [last_name1] => Starks [player_id2] => 2 [first_name2] => Patrick [last_name2] => Ewing +10 more players from this team... ) +25 more teams... Is it possible somehow?

  • link .a and .o files in GCC

    hi! I have two precompiled library: X.a and Y.a and a test.cpp (without main function) source code use these two libraries. I compiled the C++ using: g++ -c test.cpp and I got 'test.o'. Now how can I link these three together to generate a .a file because test.cpp use some function in X.a and Y.a and other GCC libraries? BTW, I am doing these under Windows using MinGW. Can I rename this .a file to .lib and use this .lib in VC? Thanks!

  • Creating a Cocoa Framework

    Hi, I've created a working Cocoa framework which I wish to redistribute. The problem is however, it won't run outside of Xcode. I've read something about @executable_path/../Frameworks, which I did not include, because I don't know where to put it :/ Therefore I run my app in Xcode using the DYLD_FRAMEWORK_PATH variable which works fine, but only in Xcode - if I try to run it on its own it crashes straight away and says IMAGE NOT FOUND. I'm sure @executable_path/../Frameworks is what's missing, but I don't know where to put it. Could anyone help me out please? :) Thanks

  • Qt - invalid conversion to child class

    I'm drawing polygons using the Graphics View framework. I added a polygon to the scene with this: QGraphicsPolygonItem *poly = scene->addPolygon(QPolygonF(vector_of_QPointF)); poly->setPos(some_point); But I need to implement some custom behaviour like selection, mouse over indicator, and other similar stuff on the graphics item. So I declared a class that inherits QGraphicsPolygonItem: #include <QGraphicsPolygonItem> class GridHex : public QGraphicsPolygonItem { public: GridHex(QGraphicsItem* parent = 0); }; GridHex::GridHex(QGraphicsItem* parent) : QGraphicsPolygonItem(parent) { } Not doing much with that class so far, as you can see. But shouldn't replacing QGraphicsPolygonItem with my GridHex class? This is throwing a " invalid conversion from 'QGraphicsPolygonItem*' to 'GridHex*' " error: GridHex* poly = scene->addPolygon(QPolygonF(vector_of_QPointF)); What am I doing wrong?

  • xPath Groupings how?

    OK So, I'm learning/using xpath for a basic application thats effectively ripping data off another website. I need to gain the knowledge of each persons Countryy/Suburb/area. In some instances you can get Australia/Victoria/melborne for instance. Others may just be Australia/Melbourne. Or even just Melbourne OR just AUSTRALIA. who knows. So I'm current able to view the below code and rip all of the information with the string xpath search:@" //table/tr/td/tabke/tr/td/font/a, this returns every entry, but what I really want is to group each lot separately. I hope someone out there on planet earth knows what I just tried to explain... and can help...   • How does Rails find models and controllers? How can I get it to load more models?

    I'm trying to create a non-ActiveRecord model in app/models/gamestate.rb. Then inside my controller (PlayController) I should be able to do GameState.new, right? No go: NameError (uninitialized constant PlayController::GameState): app/controllers/play_controller.rb:23:in `play' (at least in the development environment) But! If I do have a model called app/models/play.rb, then it's automatically loaded and I can do Play.new. So my question is: how does Rails know which classes to load? What sort of name mangling does it do to get from play#action to PlayController to app/controllers/play_controller.rb to app/models/play.rb? It seems awfully fragile, but maybe a better understanding of how this works would help. And finally, how can I get it to load app/models/gamestate.rb?

  • Access Flash Symbol Via Code from an .as Class

    Hi, I've got a movie clip symbol in my .fla file that I need to reference in an .as file which is in a subfolder in the project. I select the symbol in the library and edit its properties. Its name is bubble; I Export for ActionScript and Export in frame 1. I give it a class name of Bubble. Now I need to go to my .as class, called SomeClass.as There, I need to reference the symbol, because I want to move it from within related code in that .as file. But if I try bubble.x I get an error. If I try var myBubble:Bubble = new Bubble(); I get 'Access of undefined property myBubble'. I was told that I might try 'importing the document class' but how do you import a class which is in the root directory of your app from within a class that's in a subfolder? (Don't know if this would provide the solution anyway)... Tanks.

    Hi, If a disabled drop-down list is dynamically rendered to the page, it is still possible to use Firebug, or another tool, to tamper with the submitted value, and to remove the "disabled" HTML attribute. This code: protected override void OnLoad(EventArgs e) { var ddlTest = new DropDownList() {ID="ddlTest", Enabled = false}; ddlTest.Items.AddRange(new [] { new ListItem("Please select", ""), new ListItem("test 1", "1"), new ListItem("test 2", "2") }); Controls.Add(ddlTest); } results in this HTML being rendered: <select disabled="disabled" id="Properties_ddlTest" name="Properties$ddlTest"> <option value="" selected="selected">Please select</option> <option value="1">test 1</option> <option value="2">test 2</option> </select> The problem occurs when I use Firebug to remove the "disabled" attribute, and to change the selected option. On submission of the form, and re-creation of the field, the newly generated control has the correct value by the end of OnLoad, but by OnPreRender, it has assumed the identity of the submitted control and has been given the submitted form value. .NET seems to have no way of detecting the fact that the field was originally created in a disabled state and that the submitted value was faked. This is understandable, as there could be legitimate, client-side functionality that would allow the disabled attribute to be removed. Is there some way, other than a brute force approach, of detecting that this field's value should not have been changed? I see the brute force approach as being something crap, like saving the correct value somewhere while still in OnLoad, and restoring the value in the OnPreRender. As some fields have dependencies on others, that would be unacceptable to me.

    My DataSource is a DataTable populated from file system data in Page_Load. There is no database. How can I remove rows from the DataTable and rebind? I thought this had to be done in the GridView_RowCommand "Delete" section... if(e.CommandName == "Delete") ... When I try to access the DataRow's within //get the datatable DataTable dt = this.gridCPCP.DataSource as DataTable; // Delete the record foreach (DataRow dr in dt.Rows) { .... dt is null. How do I reference the DataTable when deleting records?

    Is it possible to update the launcher icon dynamically? Currently it seems that it can only be set statically at build time using the android:icon attribute in the AndroidManifest.xml file. For example, to display a unique icon based on the device's location? Is this something that can be achieved using aliases? If so, can an alias's launcher icon be enabled/disabled dynamically?

  • How to match multiple substrings in jQuery combobox autocomplete

    I found more than a couple examples of this with a plain jquery autocomplete but not in a way that will work with the autocomplete included in the combobox code from the demo because the structure of the code is structured so differently. I want to match every item that has all of the search tokens anywhere in any word. I don't need to match the start of any word, any part of it is fine. I don't care if the search strings are highlighted in the autocomplete list if that makes things too complicated. Desired search/result combos: (please excuse the spacing) "fi th" "fi rst second th ird" "rs on" "fi rs t sec on d third" "ec rd" "first s ec ond thi rd" but not limited to any max/min length or number of tokens.   • Blogger Template not saving after Facebook like changes

    I've add the facebook Like button to http://www.goldfishview.com/ and that works great. Its powered by Blogger. Now I want to move it to the end of my posts instead of a the beginning. I move the facebook iframe and the preview looks great, but once I save the template it reverts back to were it was. I've tried in Chrome and Firefox. In Chrome after I click preview the save template button becomes useless and doesn't do anything when I click on it. In Firefox everything looks like it takes, but on page refresh the iFrame goes back to its original position. Am I crazy?

  • PropertyPlaceholderConfigurer vs Filters -- Spring Beans

    Hi there. I've got a question regarding the difference between PropertyPlaceholderConfigurer (org.springframework.beans.factory.config.PropertyPlaceholderConfigurer) and normal filters defined in my pom.xml. I've been looking at examples, and it seems that even though filters are defined and marked to be active by default in the pom.xml they still make use of PropertyPlaceholderConfigurer in Spring's applicationContext.xml. This means that the pom.xml has a reference to a filter-LOCAL.properties while applicationContext.xml has a reference to application.properties and they both contain the same settings. Why is that? Is that how it is supposed to be done? I'm able to run the goal mvn jetty:run without the application.properties present, but if I add settings to the application.properties that differ from the filter-LOCAL.properties they don't seem to override.   • ASP.NET inline code in a server control

    Ok, we had a problem come up today at work. It is a strange one that I never would have even thought to try. <form id="form1" runat="server" method="post" action="Default.aspx?id=<%= ID %>" > Ok, it is very ugly and I wouldn't have ever tried it myself. It came up in some code that was written years ago but had been working up until this weekend after a bunch of updates were installed on a client's web server where the code is hosted. The actual result of this is the following html: <form name="form1" method="post" action="Default.aspx?id=&lt;%= ID %>" id="form1"> The url ends up like this: http://localhost:6735/Default.aspx?id=<%= ID %> Which as you can see, demonstrates that the "<" symbol is being encoded before ASP.NET actually processes the page. It seems strange to me as I thought that even though it is not pretty by any means, it should work. I'm confused. To make matters worse, the client insists that it is a bug in IE since it appears to work in Firefox. In fact, it is broken in Firefox as well, except for some reason Firefox treats it as a 0. Any ideas on why this happens and how to fix it easily? Everything I try to render within the server control ends up getting escaped. Edit Ok, I found a "fix" <form id="form1" runat="server" method="post" action='<%# String.Format("Default.aspx?id={0}", 5) %>' > But that requires me to call DataBind which is adding more of a hack to the original hack. Guess if nobody thinks of anything else I'll have to go with that.
