  • How to turn off particular monitor with .NET?

    OK, I know there are quite a few posts on this topic. However, none of them provide the solution to my issue: I don't want just to turn off my monitor(s), I wish my code to turn off a specific monitor. The URL the most people refer to, http://fci-h.blogspot.com/2007/03/turn-off-your-monitor-via-code-c.html, doesn't help here, as it turns off all the displays. So, I have my laptop screen and an additional external monitor. While I'm watching movies, I switch the display to the external monitor and my laptop screen goes black, however, it's still on and glowing in the dark. I wish to turn it off. Could anyone help please?

  • Flex ANT tasks can't find my assets

    I'm attempting to compile my Flex project with an ANT build script. One of my MXML components references an external XML data file, like this: <mx:XML id="treeData" source="assets/data/help.xml" /> When I build the project using Flex Builder, it compiles fine. However, when I try to compile it using ANT, I get the following error: Error: Problem finding external XML: assets/data/help.xml How come ANT isn't finding the XML file? Apparently it knows the source path otherwise it would not have found the component to begin with. I added the source path to the target anyway, but it doesn't seem to have made any difference: <source-path path-element="${SRC}" /> Any ideas?

  • Problem Implementing StructureMap in VB.Net Conversion of SharpArchitecture

    I work in a VB.Net environment and have recently been tasked with creating an MVC enviroment to use as a base to work from. I decided to convert the latest SharpArchitecture release (Q3 2009) into VB, which on the whole has gone fine after a bit of hair pulling. I came across a problem with Castle Windsor where my custom repository interface (lives in the core/domain project) that was reference in the constructor of my test controller was not getting injected with the concrete implementation (from the data project). I hit a brick wall with this so basically decided to switch out Castle Windsor for StructureMap. I think I have implemented this ok as everything compiles and runs and my controller ran ok when referencing a custom repository interface. It appears now that I have/or cannot now setup my generic interfaces up properly (I hope this makes sense so far as I am new to all this).     This is my problem. I'm using different sql-queries for fetching some people, some come from my database and some come from an external database. They are all sorted in the same "list", only the difference is, that the people who come from our database will have a different lay-out and there will be less of them in a row (eg. 1 in a row), the list of people who come from the external database will be ordered by 3 (in a row). How can i implement this using a repeater? And how would the pagination work? Any "logical", working alternatives will be appreciated also, but i prefer to keep my current workflow to solve this problem. Short: - Multiple datasources - Multiple templates for the different datasources (1 in a row, 3 in a row) - Pagination in this problem?

    I'm using an XML schema document to validate incoming data documents, however the schema appears be failing during compilation at run time because it refers to a complex type which part of an external schema. The external schema is specified in a element at the top of the document. I had thought it might be an access problem, so I moved a copy of the external document to a localhost folder. I get the same error, so now I'm wondering if there might be some sort of issue with the use of the element. I wondered if the # signs in the namespace definitions were causing a problem, but removing them had no effect, it just changed what the error looked like (i.e. "Type 'http://www.w3.org/2000/09/xmldsig:KeyInfoType' is not declared." versus "Type 'http://www.w3.org/2000/09/xmldsig#:KeyInfoType' is not declared.") My suspicion is that there's something about the processing of the element that I'm missing. Any suggestions are very welcome. Thanks!

  • Android - Calling getJSONArray throwing JSONException with no stack trace

    Hi all, I'm currently working on an android app that pulls a list of forums from a JSON feed. I'm trying to parse the feed and immediately upon calling getJSONArray a JSON exception is being thrown with no stack trace. The JSON being returned is stored in an JSONObject jobj with the format as follows: { "Forum": [ {"ForumName":"CEC Employee Communications Forum","ForumId":"105"}, {"ForumName":"CEC External Stakeholder Relations Forum","ForumId":"109"}, {"ForumName":"See All...","ForumId":"0"} ] } However when running the following code, I get an immediate exception without a stack trace: JSONArray jarray = new JSONArray(); jarray = jobj.getJSONArray("Forum"); Running jobj.GetJSONArray("Forum").toString(); returns what looks to be a correct array of the format: [ {"ForumName":"CEC Employee Communications Forum","ForumId":"105"}, {"ForumName":"CEC External Stakeholder Relations Forum","ForumId":"109"}, {"ForumName":"See All...","ForumId":"0"} ] I also tried JSONArray jarray = new JSONArray(jobj.GetJSONArray("Forum").toString()); and had the exception thrown immediately.   • Ilmerge causing dll's to open during build

    I am using ILMerge as a post build event to combine some dll's into a single dll. It is working and combining the dll's but have this weird issue. As the project builds, the dll's are opened (only external dll's, not project dll's)! And the build wont only progress when I close the application that opens the dll, in this case I have set reflector as the default application for opening dll's. The post build event command I am using is: "..............\External\Tools\ILMerge\2.10.0\ILMerge" /out:"$(ProjectDir)$(OutDir)Combined.dll" "$(TargetPath)" "$(ProjectDir)$(OutDir)Core.dll" "$(ProjectDir)$(OutDir)Resolver.dll" "$(ProjectDir)$(OutDir)AjaxMin.dll" "$(ProjectDir)$(OutDir)Yahoo.Yui.Compressor.dll" "$(ProjectDir)$(OutDir)EcmaScript.NET.modified.dll" Anyone have issues with this?

  • Huge EAR deployment

    Hello all, I'm trying to figure out how to deploy a huge (40-50 MB) EAR file to the server through a rather slow VPN connection. The EAR contains EJB and WAR projects created in Glassfish, and 90% of the file size is from external dependency libraries used. Has anyone came up with a strategy for elegant deployment to production system from Netbeans, where the deployment (over the network) is done only for what is really needed (i.e. just one WAR, not the entire EAR, or just one lib, not the entire libraries subproject). Related to the first point, how to separate external dependency libs from project in Netbeans, so that the project compiles on development machine, but when the EAR/WAR/EJB is created it does not contain all the dependency JARs, which are making it huge. Perhaps we need to write custom ant script? Start using maven? Thank you all for kind answers, Bozo

My problem is that if the groovy script fails I only get the "error string found" in my cruise webapp and email; its even not in the log files. The groovy script writes it output to stdout and to a logfile.   • Visual Studio msbuild

    I have a question regarding the commandline options of msbuild. I am currently using msbuild to build projects using the existing solution files. These solution files have references to external dll which have different paths on each machine. I am currently writing a build script and passing the specific path to the project file via the /p: switch of msbuild. My current build line is: msbuild test.sln /p:ReferencePath="c:\abc" /p:ReferencePath="c:\rca" What i have noticed that Reference Path now contains only c:\rca and not c:\abc. this is causing problems for me since, the external dlls lie in two different directorys. I am allowed to keep multiple reference paths via visual studio, but not via the commandline. Is there any known way by which i can do this

    Hello, I have not been able to find detailed documentation about the Microsoft Flight Simulator SDK, so I have a couple of questions regarding its capabilities. I am currently running FS2004(could buy FSX if needed) and would like to know if I could add moving or static boats through the SDK. Ideally, the boat's position would be controlled by an external program at runtime. Secondly, can i access the flight management system through the SDK? I would like to upload a custom flight path through an external program while the plane is flying. So why the plane would follow the original flight path I would like to be able to change it on the go. Thanks

    I'm learning Composite Application Block and I've hit a rock about services. I have my shell application in its own solution, and of course a test module in its own solution (developed and testing completely independent and external of the shell solution). If I created a service named "Sql Service", would I need to put this in it's own library, so that both the shell, and the module know the types? If that's the case, then for good practice, should I put the service project in the shell solution, or external just like a module (in it's own solution), even though it's not loaded as a module? Then, what about references? Should the shell reference this directly, add then add the service? Or load it as a module and add the service? I have a lot of confusion on where I should create my services, and if I should reference or load as modules..

    I have taken a fresh install of Eclipse and all the latest Android tools and want to use Proguard on existing project, but for now I have created a new blank one. I have added a proguard.cfg file to my project added proguard.config=proguard.cfg to my default.properties Now when I try to export I get the following error [2010-12-12 10:36:35 - ApplicationTest] Proguard returned with error code 1. See console [2010-12-12 10:36:35 - ApplicationTest] 'C:\Program' is not recognized as an internal or external command, [2010-12-12 10:36:35 - ApplicationTest] operable program or batch file. [2010-12-12 10:36:35 - ApplicationTest] '-jar' is not recognized as an internal or external command, [2010-12-12 10:36:35 - ApplicationTest] operable program or batch file. I know it means there is a filepath setup incorrectly, question is where the heck is as I have looked through the general properties and project properties and can't see any reference to proguard or obfuscation so am stuck on what to change Any help appreciated.

  • Setting a session variable in Global.asax causes AJAX errors

    I'm getting a very peculiar problem with my asp.net application, it took me an age to track down but I still don't know what is causing this behaviour. If I set a session variable in the Application_PreRequestHandlerExecute event, then my external JavaScript files are ignored, and therfore causing a raft of errors. I have simplified the problem below. E.g. I have file called JScript.js containing the code: function myAlert() { alert("Hi World"); } And in my Default.aspx file I reference the js with the code: <script src="JScript.js" type="text/javascript"></script> And in the body onload event I call the myAlert() function: <body onload="myAlert()"> And finally in the Global.asax file: Private Sub Application_PreRequestHandlerExecute(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs) HttpContext.Current.Session("myVar") = "MyValue" End Sub If you run the Default.aspx file you will see the js function isnt called, however, if you comment out the line of code Global.asax then the external js is called and the function executed when the page loads. Why is this?

    I’m looking for some feedback on mechanisms to batch data from MySQL Community Server 5.1.32 with an external host down to an internal SQL Server 05 Enterprise machine over VPN. The external box accumulates data throughout business hours (about 100Mb per day), which then needs to be transferred internationally across a WAN connection to an internal corporate environment before some BI work is performed. This should just be change-sets making their way down each night. I’m interested in thoughts on the ETL mechanisms people have successfully used in similar scenarios before. SSIS seems like a potential candidate; can anyone comment on the suitability for this scenario? Alternatively, other thoughts on how to do this in a cost-conscious way would be most appreciated.   • How to check if a SWF is running as an AIR app?

    Hi, I'm wondering if there is a way for a SWF to check at runtime whether it is running as an online SWF or an AIR app? I need to use the same SWF to run both online and locally, however when running as an AIR app, external assets are located in a different directory. I'd like to check whether a SWF is local or online so I can change the source path for external assets accordingly. Thanks, Sandro Edit: I just realized this might be a dumb question. :) I may just use flashvars to tell the SWF that it is running within an AIR app.

  • Compiling OpenSSL for boost asio for Microsoft Visual Studio 2010

    I compiled boost with bjam, and then I compiled OpenSSL. Both of them work separately. I set up the links in Visual Studio 10 to point to my OpenSSL library directory. But when I attempt to compile example boost ssl asio programs I get 44 unresolved external linker errors like this one: 1testing.obj : error LNK2019: unresolved external symbol _SSLv23_server_method referenced in function "public: void __thiscall boost::asio::ssl::detail::openssl_context_service::create(struct ssl_ctx_st * &,enum boost::asio::ssl::context_base::method)" (?create@openssl_context_service@detail@ssl@asio@boost@@QAEXAAPAUssl_ctx_st@@W4method@context_base@345@@Z) Can you please give me step-by-step instructions on properly linking OpenSSL to boost?   • Queue ExternalInterface calls to Flash Object in UpdatePanel - Needs Improvement?

    A Flash (actually Flex) object is created on an ASP.Net page within an Update Panel using a modified version of the embedCallAC_FL_RunContent.js script so it can be written in dynamically. It is re-created with this script with each partial postback to that panel. There are also other Update Panels on the page. With some postbacks (partial and full), External Interface calls such as $get('FlashObj').ExternalInterfaceFunc('arg1', 0, true); are prepared server-side and added to the page using ScriptManager.RegisterStartupScript. They're embedded in a function and stuffed into Sys.Application's load event, for example Sys.Application.add_load(funcContainingExternalInterfaceCalls). The problem is that because the Flash object's state state may change with each partial postback, the Flash (Flex) object and/or External Interface may not be ready or even exist yet in the DOM when the JavaScript - Flash External Interface call is made. It results in an "Object doesn't support this property or method" exception. I have a working strategy to make the ExternalInterface calls immediately if Flash is ready or else queue them until such time that Flash announces its readiness. //Called when the Flash object is initialized and can accept ExternalInterfaceCalls var flashReady = false; //Called by Flash when object is fully initialized function setFlashReady() { flashReady = true; //Make any queued ExternalInterface calls, then dequeue while (extIntQueue.length > 0) (extIntQueue.shift())(); } var extIntQueue = []; function callExternalInterface(flashObjName, funcName, args) { //reference to the wrapped ExternalInterface Call var wrapped = extWrap(flashObjName, funcName, args); //only procede with ExternalInterface call if the global flashReady variable has been set if (flashReady) { wrapped(); } else { //queue the function so when flashReady() is called next, the function is called and the aruments are passed. extIntQueue.push(wrapped); } } //bundle ExtInt call and hold variables in a closure function extWrap(flashObjName, funcName, args) { //put vars in closure return function() { var funcCall = '$get("' + flashObjName + '").' + funcName; eval(funcCall).apply(this, args); } } I set the flashReady var to dirty whenever I update the Update Panel that contains the Flash (Flex) object. I am still on the learning curve with respect to concepts like closures why "eval()" is apparently evil, so I'm wondering if I'm violating some best practice or if this code should be improved, if so how?     The following simply loads a jquery-ui dialog from an external html file. $('#showdialog').click(function(e) { var div = $('<div>loading...</div>'); div.dialog({ modal: true, open: function() { div.load('anotherpage.html'); } }); e.preventDefault(); }); After the DOM loads from the external html file, I'd like to interrogate it with JQuery. For example, supposing anothorpage.html had a bunch of anchors on it, I'd like to wire up click handlers for them when it loads into the dialog. Any ideas?
