  • simple float issue on wordpress blog

    - by JCHASE11
I am modifying a wordpress theme completely, and have run into one very simple problem. Please look at my page here: wordpress blog When you scroll down, you can see the one blank area under the first post. For some reason, that block isn't floating left. Each post has the following css that fits in a 645px container: .home-post-wrap { width: 285px; margin:0; float: left; background-color: #FFF; padding: 15px; overflow: hidden; border-bottom:1px dotted #C5C5C5; border-right:1px dotted #C5C5C5; } Any idea on how to make the page flow correctly here?

  • Is it possible to populate HTML form field data in an iPhone UIWebView using external accessory fram

    - by Jon Smallberries
I have an iPhone app where I'd like to load a remotely served HTML form into a UIWebView and then populate that form as data becomes available from an external accessory using the "External Accessory Framework." Right now the data is entered by hand. The proposed flow is: Fetch an HTML page containing a form and put it into a UIWebView When data becomes available from the external accessory, populate the form field(s) Submit the form Is it possible to do this by "injecting" data from the external accessory into the UIWebView when all required data has been retrieved from the external accessory? I cannot seem to find any good examples on how to use the external accessory framework to achieve this.

  • Is there a workaround to Safari's/Opera's bug that you can't tab through hyperlinks?

    - by scunliffe
In IE, Firefox, Chrome and most Windows-based interfaces that I've used, the Tab key can be used to navigate from one form field or hyperlink to the next (e.g. "actionable" items) (note: I have not tested on other Operating Systems) However Safari and Opera skip all hyperlinks in a web page when tabbing. IMHO its a usability bug but I digress. Is there a workaround/hack to make Safari and/or Opera navigate through these links? I've noticed that Opera will accept the tabindex attribute if set e.g. tabindex="0" thus maintaining the links "index" within the flow of the DOM on the page... but Safari does not want to accept this. For those interested, this bit of jQuery will make all the hyperlinks clickable. //Make links 'tab-able' in Opera $(document).ready(function(){ if($.browser.opera){ $('a[href]').attr('tabindex', 0); } }); ...and although this seems to work for Opera... is there a better workaround?

  • Odd Tools and Techniques for System Administrators

    - by Joseph Kern
There's been a lot of questions centering on Software Tools for System Administrators. But I would like to know about any odd physical tools or techniques that you've used; Something that you never expected to be useful, but ended up saving the day. I'll go first: A Camera Phone. An application server had a major power issue that borked the RAID. Many of the disks were offline. Before I took the plunge and forced disks back online, I took a picture of the RAID BIOS screen with my camera phone. Having the exact layout of the RAID stored safely in my pocket, I was able to reset the RAID, and reboot the server. What odd tools/techniques have you used?

  • Ubuntu 12 Server messing up my hard disk

    - by Jeroen Jacobs
I'm installing Ubuntu server on a disk with 12GB available. During the setup, I choose the default LVM-based partition layout. • IE8 Compatibility View issues

    - by 08Hawkeye
I have the IE7 emulater tag in a jsp layout. But when I bring up the page, it defaults to the IE8 view until the user clicks the Compatibility View button. I don't want the user to have to click the button to launch compatibility mode. Is there a way to force IE7 Emulation on pageLoad? I'd even like to disable the button (or any potential to toggle between IE8 standard mode/IE7 view). Thanks! //sw Update: Now the button seems to have disappeared entirely, but still defaults to IE8 standards. Where did it go?! The toolbar context menu has it as selected, but the tools dropdown menu has it grayed out. For my purposes, it is unacceptable for the user to have to use the developer tools or even click the button to trigger emulation, but I don't know why the button disappeared anyway...

  • Worth it to move /var to physical disk vs logical?

    - by Tammer Ibrahim
Brief question about partition layout. I use an SSD for /, /boot, /usr, & /home partitions. I'd like to move /var to a mechanical disk to minimize writes to the SSD. I'm mainly concerned about maximizing drive life rather than maximizing performance (although I obviously wouldn't want to cripple my server). My mechanical disks consist of two drives sharing LVM, and a third used for nightly rsync backups. I also have a bunch of old 2.5in hard disks lying around. My question is, should I simply create a new LVM volume '/var' on my primary data store, or would it be worth the increased energy consumption (in terms of maximizing the lifetime of the LVMed drives) to install a low volume 2.5in disk to use just for /var? On a more general level my question is about the trade offs of placing OS mounts on the same physical volumes as my data. Thanks for any help!

  • creating a tooltip for a line drawn on cartesiandatacanvas in flex

    - by Guru
    I am trying to draw a line on cartesiandatacanvas. While I am able to draw lines easily using the canvas.moveTo and canvas.lineTo methods, I cannot provide a tooltip to the line if I use that functionality. I have tried creating a label(when ever I draw a line) and adding a tooltip to it but since I show the lines in a 10*10 grid both vertical and horizontal there is a overlap and it is confusing. So now I am trying to create a line object that extends shape or UIComponent. I cannot add this object to canvas using the addChild method it does not work. The addDataChild method works but it messes with the positioning of the line. Can someone help with a solution to this. Simply put I want to draw lines on a datacanvas and add tooltips to them. Here is my code for the line object: package model { import flash.display.CapsStyle; import flash.display.JointStyle; import flash.display.LineScaleMode; import mx.core.UIComponent; public class Line extends UIComponent { public var x1:Number; public var x2:Number; public var y1:Number; public var y2:Number; public var color:Number; public function Line(x1:Number, y1:Number, x2:Number, y2:Number,color:Number) { super(); this.graphics.lineStyle(4, color, 1, true, LineScaleMode.NORMAL, CapsStyle.ROUND, JointStyle.MITER, 1 ); this.graphics.moveTo(x1,y1); this.graphics.lineTo(x2,y2); } } } Here is a sample MXML that has a canvas and tries to use the line object above: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <mx:WindowedApplication xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml" layout="absolute" initialize="init()"> <mx:Script> <![CDATA[ import model.Line; import mx.charts.chartClasses.CartesianCanvasValue; private var accidImage:Image = new Image(); public function init():void { var line:Line = new Line(10,10,40,40,0XFF0000); // canvas.addChild(line); *Does not Work* canvas.addDataChild(line,10,10,null,null,null,null); } ]]> </mx:Script> <mx:Panel x="60" y="53" width="517" height="472" layout="absolute"> <mx:PlotChart x="48" y="10" id="plotchart1"> <mx:series> <mx:PlotSeries displayName="Series 1" yField=""/> </mx:series> <mx:annotationElements> <mx:CartesianDataCanvas id="canvas" includeInRanges="true"/> </mx:annotationElements> <mx:verticalAxis> <mx:LinearAxis id="axis11" minimum="0" maximum="100" interval="10" padding="10"/> </mx:verticalAxis> <mx:horizontalAxis> <mx:LinearAxis id="axis21" minimum="0" maximum="100" interval="10" padding="10"/> </mx:horizontalAxis> </mx:PlotChart> <mx:Legend dataProvider="{plotchart1}"/> </mx:Panel> </mx:WindowedApplication>

  • What is the purpose of Templates in iWork Pages

    - by AntonAL
As we launch Pages 09, it prompts us to choose the item from "Text processing" and "Templates". What is the purpose of "Templates" ? Actually, i expect from template the definition of document styles and common layout. Also, i expect to create the normal document from Template. But, i didn't noticed all of that, while working with iWork Pages 09. All, what i can do - is just to create the template ... and what next to do with it ? I don't understand the logical continuation of the workflow, means by Pages, when we have to deal with templates ...

  • Is my approach correct to replicate this form with Reportlab?

    - by Wes
I need to generate the form seen here using Python/reportlab. http://www.flickr.com/photos/49740282@N06/4563137758/sizes/o/ I am attempting to do this by creating a custom flowable for the header at the top (with the boxes drawn) and then having a table flowable for the jewelry table below. What shows as the JEWELRY table for this example could potentially be multiple tables. I am having trouble getting my drawn header to "flow". It gets drawn, but then my table data overlays it instead of appearing below it. This is my first project with reportlab. Before I really get into debugging this, I would like to know from someone with reportlab experience if my approach is correct here. Thanks!

  • Derived Column Editor

    - by Rob Bowman
Hi I need to assign a formatted date to a column in a data flow. I have added a Derived Column editor and entered the following expression: "BBD" + SUBSTRING((DT_WSTR,4)DATEADD("Day",30,GETDATE()),1,4) + SUBSTRING((DT_WSTR,2)DATEADD("Day",30,GETDATE()),6,2) + SUBSTRING((DT_WSTR,2)DATEADD("Day",30,GETDATE()),9,2) The problem is that the "Derived Column Transformation Editor" automatically assigns a Data Type of "Unicode string[DT_WSTR]" and a length of "7". Howver, the length of a string is 11, therefore the following exception is thrown each time: [Best Before Date [112]] Error: The "component "Best Before Date" (112)" failed because truncation occurred, and the truncation row disposition on "output column "Comments" (132)" specifies failure on truncation. A truncation error occurred on the specified object of the specified component. Does anyone know why the edit is insisting on a length of 7? I don't seem to be able to change this. Many thanks, Rob.

Hello i have this code: <?php include("/LIB/error.php"); session_start(); if (isset($_POST['Submit1'])) { if (!isset($_SESSION['token'])) {goto dale;} if((time() - $_SESSION['token']) < 5) { error('Debes esperar 5 segundos para poder enviar otra informacion.'); } else { dale: $_SESSION['token'] = time(); include("/LIB/HeadSQL.php"); include("/LIB/comprueba.php"); } } ?> I want to eliminate the GOTO instruction (because as you know is supported only in the last versions of php) in order to make more compatible my code, but i really cant figure out how to change the flow of the code without the GOTO. Thanks for your help.

  • Visio 2010 Reverse Engineer Oracle

    - by digitall
I have used Visio 2007 in the past to reverse engineer Oracle databases to get a flow scheme. I believe all Office 2007 products were x86 as well which is where I suspect my issue currently lies. I have since upgraded to Visio 2010 x64 and when I go to reverse engineer something from Oracle it shows up under Installed Visio Drivers but I can't seem to create a data source using it. My assumption here is it is because Oracle doesn't play nicely with x64 and with Visio being compiled as x64 I don't even get the option to use it. Has anyone done this with Visio 2010 x64 and Oracle yet? Or are there other tools you would recommend to reverse engineer and get a model such as the one generated by Visio?

  • Where can I find a tutorial for PCB?

    - by BCS
I'm looking at using this PCB layout program and looking for a tutorial for it. After skimming through the manual, and a few attempts at guessing how to use it, I have to say that in combination they are a near ideal example of how Not to make a UI easy to use. The GUI seems to borrow it's key combinations from vi (despite not being a text editor) and the manual seems to say more about what things do than how to do things. The closest I can find is this section that starts with the todo note: [...] do a real-world tutorial example.

  • Opening AFOpenFlowView already in landscape mode

    - by justin
I'm using the open source CoverFlow replacement from here: http://fajkowski.com/blog/2009/08/02/openflow-a-coverflow-api-replacement-for-the-iphone/ When I detect that a certain view has gone from portrait to landscape mode, I instantiate an AFCoverFlowView and push it onto the navigation stack. If I do so in response to (void)didRotateFromInterfaceOrientation:(UIInterfaceOrientation)fromInterfaceOrientation The cover flow view comes up as though the phone were still in portrait mode. If I push the view in response to (void)willRotateToInterfaceOrientation:(UIInterfaceOrientation)fromInterfaceOrientation it works perfectly - the view comes up in landscape mode with the phone in landscape mode Unfortunately, the device doesn't reliable get willRotateToInterfaceOrientation messages. I have tried making sure that [[UIDevice currentDevice] beginGeneratingDeviceOrientationNotifications]; is in loadView but that doesn't help with the notificiations. So, my questions are: Is there a way to reliably get willRotateToInterfactOrientation? if not How do I instruct AFCoverFlowView to come up in landscape mode (if the device is already in landscape mode)

  • Apache Cassandra overwhelming bandwidth overhead

    - by tanyehzheng
while testing Apache Cassandra, I inserted 1000 rows of data. I allow it to propagate to the other machine on LAN. This is a 2 machine cluster. I monitor the network connection between the two machine. The total data I expected to flow between the two servers should be around 25Mb including all column names, column values and timestamps). But the actual data sent and received between them was an whopping 362Mb!! Anybody knows why is there such an overwhelming overhead? Thank you

  • Ubuntu installation does not recognize previous partitions

    - by Hawkcannon
I have been attempting to install Ubuntu (10.04, Lucid Lynx) on my computer. I wasn't ready to take the pure-Linux plunge yet, so I reserved a partition on which I would install Ubuntu. I ran the installer and answered the 'minor' questions (keyboard layout, time zone, etc.), but had trouble when I reached the partitioning. I have several partitions, but Ubuntu only saw one of them, which was not the ext3 partition that I had set up. I tried deleting the partition in hope that the installer would find and utilize the empty space, but it only saw the original partition. I do not have an external hard drive to use, and I cannot clear any existing partitions. Am I running the installer incorrectly, or is there a more serious problem?

  • [Java] Flood fill using a stack

    - by dafero
Hello to everyone :), I am using the recursive Flood fill algorithm in Java to fill some areas of a image. With very small images it works fine, but when de image becomes larger the JVM gives me a Stack Over Flow Error. That's the reason why I have to reimplement the method using a Flood Fill with my own stack. (I read that's the best way to do it in these kind of cases) Can anyone explain me how to code it? (if you don't have the code at hand, with the pseudo-code of the algorithm will be fine) I've read a lot in the Internet but I haven't understood it very well. Thanks!

  • add on click event to picturebox vb.net

    - by Matt Facer
I have a flowLayoutPanel which I am programatically adding new panelLayouts to. Each panelLayout has a pictureBox within it. It's all working nicely, but I need to detect when that picture box is clicked on. How do I add an event to the picture? I seem to only be able to find c# examples.... my code to add the image is as follows... ' add pic to the little panel container Dim pic As New PictureBox() pic.Size = New Size(cover_width, cover_height) pic.Location = New Point(10, 0) pic.Image = Image.FromFile("c:/test.jpg") panel.Controls.Add(pic) 'add pic and other labels (hidden in this example) to the big panel flow albumFlow.Controls.Add(panel) So I assume somewhere when I'm creating the image I add an onclick event. I need to get the index for it also if that is possible! Thanks for any help!

This is my code: public class Start extends SherlockActivity { // JSON Node names private static final String TAG_ID = "id"; private static final String TAG_NAME = "name"; // category JSONArray JSONArray category = null; private ListView lv; @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { setTheme(SampleList.THEME); //Used for theme switching in samples super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.test); new MyAsyncTask().execute("http://...."); // Launching new screen on Selecting Single ListItem lv.setOnItemClickListener(new OnItemClickListener() { @Override public void onItemClick(AdapterView<?> parent, View view, int position, long id) { // getting values from selected ListItem String name = ((TextView) view.findViewById(R.id.name)).getText().toString(); String cost = ((TextView) view.findViewById(R.id.mail)).getText().toString(); // Starting new intent Intent in = new Intent(getApplicationContext(), SingleMenuItemActivity.class); in.putExtra("categoryname", name); System.out.println(cost); in.putExtra("categoryid", cost); startActivity(in); } }); } public class MyAsyncTask extends AsyncTask<String, Void, ArrayList<HashMap<String, String>> > { // Hashmap for ListView ArrayList<HashMap<String, String>> contactList = new ArrayList<HashMap<String, String>>(); @Override protected ArrayList<HashMap<String, String>> doInBackground(String... params) { // Creating JSON Parser instance JSONParser jParser = new JSONParser(); // getting JSON string from URL category = jParser.getJSONArrayFromUrl(params[0]); try { // looping through All Contacts for(int i = 0; i < category.length(); i++){ JSONObject c = category.getJSONObject(i); // Storing each json item in variable String id = c.getString(TAG_ID); String name = c.getString(TAG_NAME); // creating new HashMap HashMap<String, String> map = new HashMap<String, String>(); // adding each child node to HashMap key => value map.put(TAG_ID, id); map.put(TAG_NAME, name); // adding HashList to ArrayList contactList.add(map); } } catch (JSONException e) { Log.e("log_tag", "Error parsing data "+e.toString()); } return contactList; } @Override protected void onPostExecute(ArrayList<HashMap<String, String>> result) { ListAdapter adapter = new SimpleAdapter(Start.this, result , R.layout.list_item, new String[] { TAG_NAME, TAG_ID }, new int[] { R.id.name, R.id.mail }); // selecting single ListView item lv = (ListView) findViewById(R.id.ListView); lv.setAdapter(adapter); } } } Eclipse: 11-25 11:40:31.896: E/AndroidRuntime(917): java.lang.RuntimeException: Unable to start activity ComponentInfo{de.essentials/de.main.Start}: java.lang.NullPointerException

  • Document: How do I include a random fragment from another document

    - by NXT
I have a word document that I am converting to docbook. This word document has short sections that are quoted from another document. I thinking that I should use a blockquote or sidebar to contain the quoted document. But how do I go about making random headings in non sequential order? For example I might be quoting a section of a document that looks like this: -------------------------------------- B. Damage Assessment blah...paragraphs B.1 Responsibilities. some stuff... B.2 Authority some more stuff... -------------------------------------- Those headings are totally unrelated to the flow of the containing document. Is this an appropriate place to use the bridgehead element?
