  • Error 424 from Twitter API

    - by Ted
I'm experitmenting with the Twitter API (OAuth). I have a test bed that can tweet from my dev box, but fails in production. I get a status code of 424 returned when trying to tweet. I can't spot the difference between my live environment and my dev environment so really need to understand what a '424' is, but can find no documentation relating to it.

  • Managed DirectX as a starting point

    - by numerical25
I know the difference between manage and unmanaged DirectX. My question is if I decided to do managed directX as a starting point, would it help me to better understand unmanaged DirectX. Honestly, the only thing I see different about the 2 is how you initiate and access resources. Matrix Math is Matrix no matter what so If I learn it in managed, then I should be fine in unmanaged

  • How to mask an view with an black-white image?

    - by mystify
I've heard that it's possible to mask views with black/white images, where black means fully transparent and white means view is visible. The big difference to clipsToBounds is that the view could be clipped in funny shapes like circles or stars. How could I do that?

Hi All, How do I conditionally add the style 'color:red' to the .CurrentDifference if the value happens to be a negative value? Thanks, rod. <div class="sRow"> <div class="sLabel p40"> Difference: </div> <%= (!String.IsNullOrEmpty(Model.Amount)?Model.Amount.CurrentDifference.ToString("c"):string.Empty) %> </div>

  • What is the best way to declare sorted association in grails domain classes ?

    - by fabien7474
It seems that there are two different ways of declaring sorted associations in Grails : Method 1 (see here) using default sort order class Book { String title } class Author { static hasMany = [books : Book] static mapping = { books sort: "title"} } Method 2 (see here) using SortedSet class Book implements Comparable { String title int compareTo(obj) { title <=> obj.title } } class Author { SortedSet books static hasMany = [books : Book] } I am not sure which one to use and what is the difference (if any), pros and cons between using one against the other. I would appreciate any clarification. Thank you

  • Loading data in constructors and not in constructors

    - by Richeve S. Bebedor
    I just want to know the difference between loading the data inside the constructor and loading the data outside the constructor but not inside any methods example: Loading inside constructor public class Model{ Object testobject; public Model(){ testobject=new Object(); } } VS example: Loading outside constructor public class Model{ Object testobject=new Object(); public Model(){ } }

  • Is it bad to explicitly compare against boolean constants e.g. if (b == false) in Java?

    - by polygenelubricants
Is it bad to write: if (b == false) //... while (b != true) //... Is it always better to instead write: if (!b) //... while (!b) //... Presumably there is no difference in performance (or is there?), but how do you weigh the explicitness, the conciseness, the clarity, the readability, etc between the two? Note: the variable name b is just used as an example, ala foo and bar.

  • [r] Converting unix seconds in milliseconds to POSIXct/POSIXlt

    - by signalseeker
Why do I see a difference when I convert a unix timestamp to datetime object in R? > as.POSIXlt(1268736919, origin="1970-01-01", tz="America/New_York") [1] "2010-03-16 06:55:19 EDT" > as.POSIXct(1268736919, origin="1970-01-01", tz="America/New_York") [1] "2010-03-16 11:55:19 EDT" The result from POSIXlt is actually correct. Also, is there a way to do this conversion without specifying the origin? Thanks

  • Why is my number being rounded incorrectly?

    - by izb
This feels like the kind of code that only fails in-situ, but I will attempt to adapt it into a code snippet that represents what I'm seeing. float f = myFloat * myConstInt; /* Where myFloat==13.45, and myConstInt==20 */ int i = (int)f; int i2 = (int)(myFloat * myConstInt); After stepping through the code, i==269, and i2==268. What's going on here to account for the difference?

How can I differentiate between two local branches in git ? How can I copy one local branch to another local branch ? In general how can I perform difference operation between two local branches on my server using git. I tried looking it up online but there is not enough documentation on that or there is not clear documentation on that. Any suggestions or links to useful material would be highly appreciated. Thanks.

  • MySQLi -- OO or Procedural?

    - by Kerry
I know OO is the "way to go" but I'm thinking procedural might be easier to use in the wrapper I'm making. Any difference in performance between MySQLi Object Oriented vs Procedural?

  • jQuery is not defined on my staging server but works fine on my local

    - by Tony
If you pop open this page with your javascript console, you'll notice a bunch of JS errors. I don't get these errors in my local environment and it seems like it is happening because $ is not defined. I have tried to mimic my local environment exactly on staging by using the same environment.rb file and removing all JS caching but it is making no difference. Can anyone tell why jQuery is crapping out? It might be something really stupid, but I need a second pair of eyes.

  • w3wp versus mvsmon

    - by 4ecomm
Hi, I'm trying to figure out the difference between w3wp and msvsmon. Both seem to be remote debugging tools that run on the web server, and we can attach to them via Visual Studio to help in debugging live applications. Is this correct ? If so what are the differences between them ? many thanks.

  • GORM "getNextException" equivalent

    - by Josh K
GORM sits on top of [Hibernate](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hibernate_(Java). The issue is that sometimes Hibernate will throw exceptions from the JDBC driver that I can't figure out how to investigate. Specifically: Could not execute JDBC batch update; /* snip */ Caused by: java.sql.BatchUpdateException: /* snip */ [insert] was aborted. Call getNextException to see the cause. If it makes any difference I'm using PostgreSQL.

  • Is arithmetic overflow/underflow generally checked in .Net framework methods?

    - by YWE
For example, let's use the Add method of the ArrayList class. If I am using the default compiler settings in Visual Studio C# project in which arithmetic overflow is not checked, would ArrayList.Add() throw an OverflowException if I added too many items? Would surrounding the method call with checked or unchecked make any difference? BTW, I would write a test program to determine the answer to this question if I had Visual Studio available to me right now.
