• Confusing permissions for FOLDERID_PublicDocuments and FOLDERID_ProgramData

  In trying to answer a question regarding a folder that a program can write to on any version of windows by limited users, i suggested FOLDERID_ProgramData and FOLDERID_PublicDocuments. However, it would seem that not everyone has access to this folder, despite their purpose (ostensibly) being to allow anything to write to them. Why?

  My program uses sockets, what Parallel computing APIs could I use that would help me without obligating me to go from sockets to anything else? When we are on a cluster with a special, non-socket infrastructure system this API would emulate something like sockets but using that infrastructure (so programs perform much faster than on sockets, but still use the sockets API).

  Has anyone seen any image deskew algorithms in c#? I have found: http://www.codeproject.com/KB/graphics/Deskew_an_Image.aspx but unfortunately, it doesn't do very much for images without text. I am specifically trying to auto deskew an image of a book with solid edges, but minimal text. Has anyone seen anything that may be able to do this?

  I'm looking for a way to remove lines within multiple csv files, in bash using sed, awk or anything appropriate where the file ends in 0. So there are multiple csv files, their format is: EXAMPLEfoo,60,6 EXAMPLEbar,30,10 EXAMPLElong,60,0 EXAMPLEcon,120,6 EXAMPLEdev,60,0 EXAMPLErandom,30,6 So the file will be amended to: EXAMPLEfoo,60,6 EXAMPLEbar,30,10 EXAMPLEcon,120,6 EXAMPLErandom,30,6 A problem which I can see arising is distinguishing between double digits that end in zero and 0 itself. So any ideas?

• CSS3 webkit fading in a tooltip.

  HI, I've just been experimenting with a CSS tooltip that fades in with CSS3's transitions. I've got it working up to a point, but for some reason, when I hover over where it's meant to be, it activates, even though it's positioned left:-999px;. So basically, what am I doing wrong/is what I was going for possible?   I want to show some images and text in a UITableView. But when I add the image to its UITableViewCell it breaks the layout and overlaps with the next Header. How can I set the size of the cell containing the image, so that the layout doesn't get broken? I found some ObjC-Code which suggest this can be done by using heightForRowAtIndexPath, but I couldn't find anything MonoTouch specific.

• How do I change the URL for the wordpress author archive page?

  Instead of www.example.com/author/xyz, I want to use www.example.com/artist/xyz. I was hoping it was as easy as copying author.php to artist.php in my theme directory, but no such luck. Where does wordpress handle the special processing for the author archive pages? .htaccess rewriting is another option, but I wasn't able to get anything to work with the existing wordpress rewrite rules.   I have just installed a new ssl certificate on GlassFish 3. I also changed all references to s1as to a new certificate alias in config/domain.xml. Everything seems to work fine, but I wonder if I have to change all "s1as" entries in config/sun-acc.xml, wss-server-config-1.0.xml,wss-server-config-2.0.xml as well ?   I have the following CSS that hides the mouse cursor for anything on the web page. It works perfectly in FireFox but in IE and and Chrome it doesn't work. html { cursor: none; } In Chrome I always see the mouse pointer. In IE however I see whatever cursor was last 'active' when it entered the screen. Presumably it's keeping the last selection instead of removing it.

• sIFR problem in IE document.defaultView.getComputedStyle

  I have sIFR 3 r436 working perfectly in all browsers except IE. IE throws 2 errors. The first is: 'document.defaultView.getComputedStyle' is null of not an object This is on the sifr.js file The second is: 'sIFR' is null or not an object This one is happening I think due to the fact that the sifr.js script is failing in it's load.
