  • Getting sectionNameKeyPath to work with CoreData/UITableViewController

    In my AppDelegate I create an NSFetchedResultsController with sectionNameKeyPath set to @"group". In viewWillAppear in my TableViewController I performFetch, then call a method called findGroups. findGroups does some complicated analysis of the entire dataset to identify groups, then sets the "group" transient property on each object to the correct string value. I can see with NSLog that these are all set correctly and in coherent groups. But, tinker as I may, my cells are shown in a single section with the title of the first group. Any ideas?

  • C# WMI, Performance Counters, & SNMP Oh My!

    I have a C# windows service which listens to a MSMQ and sends each message out as an email. Since there's no UI, I'd like to offer an ability to monitor this service to see things such as # messages in queue, # emails sent (by message type perhaps), # of errors, etc. What is the best/recommended way to accomplish this? Is it WMI or performance counters? Is this data viewed using PerfMon or WMI CIM Studio? Does any approach allow one to monitor the service real-time as well as providing historical analysis? I can dig into the details myself but would appreciate some broad guidance to help demystify this subject.

Zend_Filter_input seems to require prior knowledge of the contents of the input and I'm concerned that using something like HTML Purifier will have a big performance impact.     Hi, Has anybody succeeded in developing a bluetooth application on the iPhone that prints to a Bluetooth printer? I have been investigating the feasibility of developing an iPhone application that could print to a Bluetooth-enabled printer. I've gone through the most of the postings in this thread and was confused by the mail exchanges. As per my analysis: Gamekit - can be used for bluetooth connectivity between iPhones and IPods ONLY Bonjour - can be used for wi-fi connectivity between iPhones/IPods and bonjour-enabled printer We can use an external accessory to connect to a third party Bluetooth-enabled printer provided the 3rd-party printer complies with the necessary regulations from Apple (registering for either “Made for iPod”/ “Works with iPhone”, and also customizing their printer with specific hardware/software, etc.) Could someone please share their experiences?

  • Index page in Magento is way too slow, what can I do?

    Weirdly, the index page of my magento commerce is very slow, while when you navigate the products, brands, searchs etc is very fast, but everytime you click on the banner to go for home or enter the website, it take ages to load I wonder what can I do about this? I don't know where to start, since I am new at magento. I thought I could go on and read the code, but that would take ages too, since magento is very big. Maybe I can analyze it somehow?   • Java OutOfMemory error in filter

    I get a java.lang.outOfMemoryError exception, while writing a big file to the servletOutputStream. Every response is by default wrapped using a ehcache.constructs.web.filter Object for GZIP compression. And as per the logs, the exception is thrown in the Filter object. Is there a way to increase the available memory so, that the outOfMemoryError Exception does not occur ?

  • Which OAuth library do you find works best for Objective-C/iPhone?

    I have been looking to switch to OAuth for my Twitter integration code and now that there is a deadline in less than 7 weeks (see countdown link) it is even more important to make the jump to OAuth. I have been doing Basic Authentication which is extremely easy. Unfortunately OAuth does not appear to be something that I would whip together in a couple of hours. http://www.countdowntooauth.com/ So I am looking to use a library. I have put together the following list. MPOAuth MGTwitterEngine OAuthConsumer I see that MPOAuth has some great features with a good deal of testing code in place but there is one big problem. It does not work. The sample iPhone project that is supposed to authenticate with Twitter causes an error which others have identified and logged as a bug. http://code.google.com/p/mpoauthconnection/issues/detail?id=29 The last code change was March 11 and this bug was filed on March 30. It has been over a month and this critical bug has not been fixed yet. So I have moved on to MGTwitterEngine. I pulled down the source code and loaded it up in Xcode. Immediately I find that there are a few dependencies and the README file does not have a clear list of steps to fetch those dependencies and integrate them with the project so that it builds successfully. I see this as a sign that the project is not mature enough for prime time. I see also that the project references 2 libraries for JSON when one should be enough. One is TouchJSON which has worked well for me so I am again discouraged from relying on this project for my applications. I did find that MGTwitterEngine makes use of OAuthConsumer which is one of many OAuth projects hosted by an OAuth project on Google Code. http://code.google.com/p/oauth/ http://code.google.com/p/oauthconsumer/wiki/UsingOAuthConsumer It looks like OAuthConsumer is a good choice at first glance. It is hosted with other OAuth libraries and has some nice documentation with it. I pulled down the code and it builds without errors but it does have many warnings. And when I run the new Build and Analyze feature in Xcode 3.2 I see 50 analyzer results. Many are marked as potential memory leaks which would likely lead to instability in any app which uses this library. It seems there is no clear winner and I have to go with something before the big Twitter OAuth deadline. Any suggestions?

  • Resharper doesn't play well with XAML?

    I've been noticing a pattern with ReSharper (both 4.5 and 5). Very often (almost always) when I have solution-wide analysis turned on, and WPF code in my solution, ReSharper will mark a number of the .xaml.cs files as being broken. When I navigate to the file, sometimes it magically updates and displays no errors, and other times I have to open other files that are not being correctly read and close them again to force resharper to correctly analyze them. I assume it has something to do with the temporary .cs code that is generated with XAML, but does anyone know why this is actually happening, and if there is a work around? Should I just file a bug report with JetBrains? Does anyone else experience this?

  • LyX - breaking long formula lines

    How can I break long formulas in LyX into two (or more) lines? I know how to write several lines of equations in one "math box" but I'm looking for a solution to break lines even in the middle of a parenthesis. I'm using LyX 1.6.4 and currently, when the formula is too big, it doesn't do anything (it just doesn't print the last segment of it, which is "beyond" the page). Is this possible in LyX?

    I have a database full of text fields that look like this: (paragraph of normal text) image:blog/clownboy.jpg (another paragraph) I'm trying to write a view helper for Rails that will take one of these big blocks of text, find bits like "image:blog/clownboy.jpg" and replace them with the corresponding <img src="blog/clownboy.jpg"> (without disturbing the surrounding whitespace) before outputting it to the user. I've been trying for an hour or so now, but I'm new to Ruby and the regular expressions are still a bit beyond me.
