• Autocompleting \cite{} with emacs + auctex gives "cite: no such database entry"

  Hi: I am running Emacs 23.1.1 and AucTeX 11.85 in an Ubuntu 8.10 machine. After opening a tex file, the first time I try to use the autocompletion of the \cite{} command, I get "cite: info not available, use `C-c &' to get it." in the minibuffer. After doing the 'C-c &', I get "byte-code: No BibTeX entry with citation key". Subsequent calls to \cite gives me the message "cite: no such database entry" . I have a \bibliography{library} in my tex file, and the \cite{} entries that I did manually work as expected. I have the following in my .emacs (require 'reftex) (setq-default TeX-master nil) (add-hook 'LaTeX-mode-hook 'TeX-PDF-mode) ;turn on pdf-mode. AUCTeX ;will call pdflatex to ;compile instead of latex. • Ubuntu 12.04 OpenCL with Intel and Radeon?

  I want to setup my Ubuntu 12.04 with OpenCL(Open Computing Language) support for i7 2600k and Radeon HD5870. My Monitor is connected to the integrated Graphics of the i7. Intel OpenCL SDK is installed and working. Iteration of avaliable OpenCL devices shows 2 entries for Intel. As recommended I installed AMD APP SDK 2.6 first and then the fglrx driver. I installed fglrx from Ubuntu repositories. This works fine till here. When I run aticonfig --inital -f and restart the system I get into trouble.   I have J2ME code, which I want to be able to compile using the J2ME Polish preprocessor or the wtkpreprocessor (antenna). They mostly use the same directives so it usually works, but ... When I want to insert an URL value in the Java code this gives a problem. In Antenna the code would look like this: //#ifdef my.url //# System.out.println("My Url"); //#expand String location = "%my.url%"; //#else System.out.println("Default"); String location = "http://www.some.default.url.com"; //#endif and in J2ME Polish it would look like this: //#ifdef my.url:defined //# System.out.println("My Url"); //#= String location = "${my.url}"; //#else System.out.println("Default"); String location = "http://www.some.default.url.com"; //#endif I want some way in which I can use the preprocessors interchangeably and still be able to set the url in the build.xml, any ideas?

• operator+ overload returning object causing memory leaks, C++

  The problem i think is with returing an object when i overload the + operator. I tried returning a reference to the object, but doing so does not fix the memory leak. I can comment out the two statements: dObj = dObj + dObj2; and cObj = cObj + cObj2; to free the program of memory leaks. • How do I open a web browser from a .NET Program? Process.Start() isn't working?

  I have a URL and I want to launch it in the default browser. I've tried two methods: Process.Start("http://stackoverflow.com"); ... and the one detailed in this other question using ShellExecute. In both cases I get the error: Windows cannot find 'http://stackoverflow.com'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. It shouldn't be trying to open it as a file though... from what I understand, it should recognize it as a URL and open it in the default browser. What am I missing? By the way: OS = Vista, and .NET = 3.5 EDIT: According to this MS KB article, since Process.Start sets the UseShellExecute by default, it should launch the default browser.

• Trying to convert existing production database table columns from enum to VARCHAR (Rails)

  Hi everyone, I have a problem that needs me to convert my existing live production (I've duplicated the schema on my local development box, don't worry :)) table column types from enums to a string.   I've been trying to get a delete to cascade and it just doesn't seem to work. I'm sure I am missing something obvious, can anyone help me find it? I would expect a delete on the 'articles' table to trigger a delete on the corresponding rows in the 'article_section_lt' table. • gcc, UTF-8 and limits.h

  My OS is Debian, my default locale is UTF-8 and my compiler is gcc. By default CHAR_BIT in limits.h is 8 which is ok for ASCII because in ASCII 1 char = 8 bits. But since I am using UTF-8, chars can be up to 32 bits which contradicts the CHAR_BIT default value of 8. If I modify CHAR_BIT to 32 in limits.h to better suit UTF-8, what do I have to do in order for this new value to come into effect ? I guess I have to recompile gcc ? Do I have to recompile the linux kernel ? What about the default installed Debian packages, will they work ?

• Compile time float packing/punning

  I'm writing C for the PIC32MX, compiled with Microchip's PIC32 C compiler (based on GCC 3.4). My problem is this: I have some reprogrammable numeric data that is stored either on EEPROM or in the program flash of the chip. This means that when I want to store a float, I have to do some type punning: typedef union { int intval; float floatval; } IntFloat; unsigned int float_as_int(float fval) { IntFloat intf; intf.floatval = fval; return intf.intval; } // Stores an int of data in whatever storage we're using void StoreInt(unsigned int data, unsigned int address); void StoreFPVal(float data, unsigned int address) { StoreInt(float_as_int(data), address); } I also include default values as an array of compile time constants. For (unsigned) integer values this is trivial, I just use the integer literal. For floats, though, I have to use this Python snippet to convert them to their word representation to include them in the array: import struct hex(struct.unpack("I", struct.pack("f", float_value))[0]) ...and so my array of defaults has these indecipherable values like: const unsigned int DEFAULTS[] = { 0x00000001, // Some default integer value, 1 0x3C83126F, // Some default float value, 0.005 } (These actually take the form of X macro constructs, but that doesn't make a difference here.) Commenting is nice, but is there a better way? As fas as I'm aware, this needs to be a compile time conversion, since DEFAULTS is in the global scope. Please correct me if I'm wrong about this.

As you may see, in each row, I'm trying to build a link that will redirect to another action. That action requires customerId and some additional parameters. Additional parameters are different for each page where this partial View is using. So, i decided to make Action methods to pass that additional parameters in the ViewData as RouteValueDictionary instance. Now, on the view i have a problem, i need to pass customerId and that RouteValueDictionary together into Html.ActionLink method. That makes me to figure out some way of how to combine all that params into one object (either object or new RouteValueDictionary instance) Because of the way the MVC does, i can't create create a method in the codebehind class (there is no codebihind in MVC) that will join that parameters. So, i used ugly way - inserted inline code: ...script runat="server"... private RouteValueDictionary JoinParameters(int customerId, RouteValueDictionary defaultValues) { RouteValueDictionary routeValueDictionary = new RouteValueDictionary(defaultValues); routeValueDictionary.Add("customerId", customerId); return routeValueDictionary; } ...script... This way is very ugly for me, because i hate to use inline code in the View part. My question is - is there any better way of how i can mix parameters passed from the action (in ViewData, TempData, other...) and the parameter from the view when building action links. Does anyone know what needs to be done so that my transform will select and display both the Employee properties and the html form?

• Using ASP.NET Redirect without string URL?

  For instance, what I have right now is the following: Page.Response.Redirect("Default.aspx", false); Needing to hardcode the string just seems odd to me. The Default.aspx page is already in my project. So is there a way to do the redirect something like the following: Page.Response.Redirect(Default.aspx, false); Where Default.aspx is just the web form. I'd think that this way it would be obvious if there was a problem such as you deleted the web form but didn't update the redirects. Is this possible? Or is there another way entirely I should be looking at this? I suppose I could do something with a static property on the class, but I am wondering if there is a built in thing for this?

• CentOS - Configuring Puppet to play nice with SELinux

  I am running into an issue every time I attempt to start the puppetmasterd service, for which I receive the following error message: root@service1 ~ # -> /etc/init.d/puppetmaster start Starting puppetmaster: Could not prepare for execution: Got 1 failure(s) while initializing: change from absent to directory failed: Could not set 'directory on ensure: Permission denied - /etc/puppet/ssl [FAILED] Apparently there was a known issue with this scenario as outlined in this bug report, however in the bug report it states the issue has been resolved in selinux-policy-3.9.16-29.fc15, but the latest CentOS default upstream version is 3.7.19-155.el6_3.4. So I am trying to figure out the best solution. I can either create a local security policy to allow puppetmasterd the access it needs, or keep researching and install a newer version of selinux-policy outside of the default upstream channel. Anyone have any recommendations? • Is it possible to modify ASP.NET to no longer require runat="server"?

  I know why runat="server" is currently required (ASP.NET why runat="server"), but the consensus is that it should not be required if you incorporate a simple default into the design (I agree of course). Would it be possible to modify, extend, decompile and recreate, intercept or otherwise change the behavior of how ASP.NET parses ASPX and ASCX files so that runat="server" would no longer be required? For instance, I assume that a version of Mono could be branched to accomplish this goal. • Where in maven project's path should I put configuration files that are not considered resources

  I have a simple java maven project. One of my classes when executing needs to load an xml configuration file from the classpath. I dont want to package such xml file when producing the jar but I want to include a default xml file in a zip assemply under a conf subfolder and I also want this default xml to be available in the unit tests to test against it. As I see it there are 2 possible places of this default xml: src/main/resources/conf/default.xml src/main/conf/default.xml Both solutions demand special pom actions: In solution 1, I get the auto copy to target folder during build which means it is available in testing but I also get it in the produced jar which i dont want. In solution 2, I get the jar as I want it(free of the xml) but I manually have to copy the xml to the target folder to be available for testing. (I dont want to add src's subfolders in test classpath. I think it is bad practice). The question is what is the best solution of the two? If the correct is 2, what is the best way to copy it to target folder? Is there any other solution better and more common than those two? (I also read http://stackoverflow.com/questions/465001/where-should-i-put-application-configuration-files-for-a-maven-project but I would like to know the most "correct solution" from the "convention over configuration" point of view and this link provides some configuration type solutions but not any convention oriented. Maybe there isnt one but I ask anyway. Also the solutions provided include AntRun plugin and appAssembler plugin and I wonder if I could do it with out them.)

• Android: Autostart app and load preferences

  Hi, I have a problem with initializing my app properly after the autostart. I've managed to get an autostart to work, after a reboot the app is shown as started but the timer's are not. My guess is that the "onCreate" function of MyApp is not called when I call the context.startService().
