  I have a perl form email script on the servers cgi-bin directory ( /usr/lib/cgi-bin ). /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/000-default ScriptAlias /cgi-bin/ /usr/lib/cgi-bin/ <Directory "/usr/lib/cgi-bin"> AllowOverride None Options +ExecCGI -MultiViews +SymLinksIfOwnerMatch AddHandler cgi-script cgi pl Order allow,deny Allow from all </Directory> The issue is with paths. html calls script here: <form name="Request" method="post" action="http://server-test.local/cgi-bin/formprocessorpro.pl" onsubmit="return checkWholeForm49874(this)"> The directory with the templates and configs is passed here: <input type="hidden" name="base_path" value="../contact" /> The path to this form is: http://server-test.local/formstest/contact.htm No matter what variation I try for the base_path I get an error from the formprocessor script that it can't find the directory: An error occurred when opening the Form Configuration File (../contact/form.cfg): No such file or directory. I need to move this script from an old server, configured by a previous sysadmin, to a new server. Since cgi-bin is automatically linked to /usr/lib/cgi-bin and linked such that the script resides: http://server-test.local/cgi-bin/formprocessorpro.pl I would imagine that, given that the templates are in the webroot in a directory called contact, the correct path would be: ../contact Any ideas? • jQuery "Auto Post-back" Select/Drop-Down List

  I have one common piece of jQuery code which I use to submit a form any time the selection changes on a drop-down list (HTML select tag).  This is similar to setting AutoPostBack = true in ASP.Net.  I use a single CSS class (autoSubmit) to annotate that I want the drop-down to force the form to submit on change so the HTML looks something like this: <select id="myAutoSubmitDropDown" name="myAutoSubmitDropDown" class="autoSubmit">     <option value="1">Option 1</option>     <option value="2">Option 2</option> </select> Then the following jQuery will look for any element with this CSS class and submit the parent form when the value is changed: function wireUpAutoSubmit() {   $(".autoSubmit").each(function (index) {     $(this).change(function () {       $(this).closest('form').submit();     })   }); } I put this in a separate function since I might need to wire this up explicitly after an ajax call.  Therefore I use the following code to set this method to fire when the DOM is loaded: $(document).ready(function () {   wireUpAutoSubmit(); });

• Goal Tracking data seems to be inaccurate?

  I setup some Goal Tracking about one week ago. I had multiple goals in one set. The goal itself was the "send" button being pressed on the callback form (i did that by pushing a pageview to Google Analytics everytime the send button is pressed) For each goal, i listed the first step as a required step. So for example, the ILR Page was step 1 and set as required and the goal was "/CallbackFormFilled" Looking at the stats a week later i'm getting some very inflated numbers especially when comparing them to my manually filled excel spreadsheet and i'm struggling to understand the cause of this behaviour. I'm unable to attach screenshots unfortunately since my StackExchange account for this site is brand new My own thoughts My own thoughts were that maybe its because i have setup multiple goals with the same end goal URL, but i thought that was a valid setup since i want to track multiple routes so to speak(?) I've disabled all other goals for now to confirm this, but im waiting for stats to come in as i write this. I also wonder if the contact form im using in Wordpress is causing a problem, but i've simply added one javascript line on the send button that pushes a pageview so not sure if that should cause an issue. • Class Design for special business rules

  I'm developing an application that allows people to place custom manufacturing orders. However, while most require similar paperwork, some of them have custom paperwork that only they require. My current class design has a Manufacturer class, of which of one of the member variables is an array of RequiredSubmission objects. However, there are two issues that I am somewhat concerned about. First, some manufacturers are willing to accept either a standard form or their own custom form. I'm thinking of storing this in the RequiredSubmission object, with an array of alternate forms that are a valid substitute. I'm not sure that this is ideal, however. The major issue, however, is that some manufacturers have deadline cycles. For example, forms A, B and C have to be delivered by January 1, while payment must be rendered by January 10. If you miss those, you'll have to wait until the next cycle. I'm not exactly sure how I can get this to work with my existing classes—how can I say "this set of dates all belong to the same cycle, with date A for form A, date B for form B, etc." I would greatly appreciate any insights on how to best design these classes.

• Delaying a Foreach loop half a second

  I have created a game that has a ghost that mimics the movement of the player after 10 seconds. The movements are stored in a list and i use a foreach loop to go through the commands. The ghost mimics the movements but it does the movements way too fast, in split second from spawn time it catches up to my current movement. How do i slow down the foreach so that it only does a command every half a second? I don't know how else to do it. • Microsoft Public License Question

  Let preface this by saying that I understand that any advice I may receive is not to be taken as 100% correct, I am just looking for what people's understand of what this license is. I have been looking for a library that allow be to deal with archived compressed files (like zip files) and so far the best one I have found is DotNetZip. The only concern I have is that I am not familiar with the Microsoft Public License. While I plan to release a portion of my project (a web application platform) freely (MIT/BSD style) there are a few things. One is that I don't plan on actually releasing the source code, just the compiled project. Another thing is that I don't plan on releasing everything freely, only a subset of the application. Those are reason why I stay away form (L)GPL code. Is this something allowed while using 3rd party libraries that are licensed under the Microsoft Public License? EDIT The part about the Microsoft license that concerns me is Section 3 (D) which says (full license here): If you distribute any portion of the software in source code form, you may do so only under this license by including a complete copy of this license with your distribution. If you distribute any portion of the software in compiled or object code form, you may only do so under a license that complies with this license. I don't know what is meant by 'software'. My assumption would be that 'software' only refers to the library included under the license (being DotNetZip) and that is doesn't extends over to my code which includes the DotNetZip library. If that is the case then everything is fine as I have no issues keeping the license for DotNetZip when release this project in compiled form while having my code under its own license. If 'software' also include my code that include the DotNetZip library then that would be an issue (as it would basically act like GPL with the copyleft sense).

  In November 2012, Oracle’s partner deal registration process will move to the Oracle Partner Store (OPS). During this time, OPS will become the single source for partners to register deals, obtain deal status, and place orders. What will partners need to do? 1. Request an OPS Account – If your company is new to OPS the first thing you need to do is request an account (if your company already has an OPS account, go to step 2). It’s important to have the person who will be managing your OPS account make this request as soon as possible. They will be set up as your company’s primary administrator. 2. Set-Up Users in OPS – Setup of users can start immediately, and will be handled by the primary OPS administrator at your company. The process is simple, but all existing users of Global PRM (Partner Relationship Management) deal registration will need to be set up in OPS before November 14, 2012.  3. Review/Action Any Registrations Pending Submission in PRM – Prior to November 14, 2012, all pending registrations should be submitted in the existing PRM system. It is important that this step is complete so registrations will not need to be re-entered when the system is moved to OPS on November 17, 2012. Registrations pending submission are easily identified on the registration listing screen with either “Incomplete” or “Returned to Partner” in the status column.  4. When I double-click on it though, it opens up the VBA editor. Do I have to add the items programatically as per the following question How do I add a combobox in Word? or is it possible to do this using the UI? The other question/answer refers to creating a form. Is there a step I've missed between creating a .dot to then create a form somehow before adding form elements to it? • how to store and retrieve/generate UI?

  I'm working on a site that will have hundreds, and eventually thousands, of paper products that users can customize online. Here is a very simple sample of what needs to be generated based on the product id: demo. This is a very simple version. I plan on replacing text fields with prettier elements(like the slider on tab 3). I imagine most of this can be achieved via jquery. So basically a product will have multiple pages(tabs), with multiple form elements on each page. I've never done a large scale project like this before and I am looking for ideas/suggestions for how I can store the info for each product that needs to be generated to create the UI. For each product, I need to store how many pages there are, what form fields are on each page, and the order of the fields on the page. As well as setting default text values and form options(font size, etc). Then with all this info stored somewhere, I can have the web app retrieve it and generate the UI with text fields, sliders, and other jquery-ish form enhancements, for that particular product. Can anyone toss out some suggestions, links, blogs, tutorials? I'm not really sure where to begin with this or what I need to start to investigate. I have experience with php, mysql, javascript, jquery, html, css, and that is really about it. I'm open to learning(and would enjoy exploring) new frameworks, programming, etc that will really get this web app working correctly, efficiently, and effectively. Maybe I should start looking into a mvc framework? like i said, i really have no idea what is the best approach. please let me know your suggestions!

• JS regex isn't matching, even thought it works with a regex tester

  I'm writing a piece of client-side javascript code that takes a function and finds the derivative of it, however, the regex that's supposed to match with the power rule fails to work in the context of the javascript program, even though it sucessfully matches when it's used with an independent regex tester. The browser I'm executing this on is Midori, and the operating system is Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid Lynx).   Hello, The function below allows a user to insert a comment into a MySQL table called "comment." Then, the file "comments2.php" displays all comments for a given submission. Right after a user submits a comment, I would like the top of the user's browser to be anchored by the comment the user just submitted. How can I do this? • Suggestions on how to map from Domain (ORM) objects to Data Transfer Objects (DTO)

  The current system that I am working on makes use of Castle Activerecord to provide ORM (Object Relational Mapping) between the Domain objects and the database. This is all well and good and at most times actually works well! The problem comes about with Castle Activerecords support for asynchronous execution, well, more specifically the SessionScope that manages the session that objects belong to. Long story short, bad stuff happens! We are therefore looking for a way to easily convert (think automagically) from the Domain objects (who know that a DB exists and care) to the DTO object (who know nothing about the DB and care not for sessions, mapping attributes or all thing ORM). Does anyone have suggestions on doing this. For the start I am looking for a basic One to One mapping of object. Domain object Person will be mapped to say PersonDTO. I do not want to do this manually since it is a waste. Obviously reflection comes to mind, but I am hoping with some of the better IT knowledge floating around this site that "cooler" will be suggested. Oh, I am working in C#, the ORM objects as said before a mapped with Castle ActiveRecord. Example code: By @ajmastrean's request I have linked to an example that I have (badly) mocked together. The example has a capture form, capture form controller, domain objects, activerecord repository and an async helper. It is slightly big (3MB) because I included the ActiveRecored dll's needed to get it running. You will need to create a database called ActiveRecordAsync on your local machine or just change the .config file. Basic details of example: The Capture Form The capture form has a reference to the contoller private CompanyCaptureController MyController { get; set; } On initialise of the form it calls MyController.Load() private void InitForm () { MyController = new CompanyCaptureController(this); MyController.Load(); } This will return back to a method called LoadComplete() public void LoadCompleted (Company loadCompany) { _context.Post(delegate { CurrentItem = loadCompany; bindingSource.DataSource = CurrentItem; bindingSource.ResetCurrentItem(); //TOTO: This line will thow the exception since the session scope used to fetch loadCompany is now gone. grdEmployees.DataSource = loadCompany.Employees; }, null); } } this is where the "bad stuff" occurs, since we are using the child list of Company that is set as Lazy load.   Hi there, This has been doing my head in all day and I have finally decided to resort to asking for help! In my MIDLet I have an instance of the java class ImageFetcher called anImg. Also within my MIDLet I have a command that simply say's fetch, a CommandListener that when detects fetch was clicked runs the function below. This function should simply run public getImage() from the anImg instance of class ImageFetcher which returns an image and then appends/sets this Image onto the form on the display. (You may recognise the getImage() function from the Nokia JavaME Wiki!!!) Instead of any image being displayed this is written to the output terminal in netbeans: Msg: Java.lang.NullPointerException HOWEVER, If I change public getImage() to public static getImage() and replace anImg.getImage() with ImageFetcher.getImage() the image is successfully displayed!!!
