• asp.net and Visual studio root directory question

  I am seeing something very odd and thought I would ask the Stackoverflow community if they knew the answer. I have an asp.net project that runs fine in one environment, but couldn't figure out what happened to the styles in another environment. In the first environment (Windows 2008 Server), the following link worked fine: <link href="/Styles/09/style.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> but in the other environment (it's a Windows 7), I had to change it to work: <link href="../Styles/09/style.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> Notice that the directories seemed to shift ahead one directory in the Win7, what's going on? It's like the "running" directory seems now be the \bin directory instead of the home! Which environment is configured correctly? How do I determine execution directory level? My concern going forward is pushing to a prod environment and guessing which configuration is correct. Any insight would be appreciated!

• Browsing page siblings through next/previous links

  I'm using WordPress as CMS for a site I'm developing. When I'm browsing posts, I can use Next/Previous links to walk between posts. I want to have the same thing on pages. Page A Page B Page C Page A should link to next sibling Page B. Page B should link to previous sibling Page A and next sibling Page C. Page C should link to previous sibling Page B. Is there any plugin you can recommend that generates these links? I know there are some plugins that do this, but I specifically want one that hooks into my current theme automatically. I know how to edit the theme, but that would brick my site whenever a theme update is available. I'm using the LightWord WordPress theme.

• SlideUp a div if any other div is slided down with jQuery

  I have made a function to slidedown different div's by clicking different links. Following is basic code. However, there's a little problem that, for example, if i click on first link, it slides down div. Now If i click on next link, it keeps the first div, and slides down the second div. However I want to do it so that, if there is any div slided down, and I click on any link, it should slide up the previous div and slide down the newer one. I will appriciate your help in this regard. • triggering an onchange event of a select box

  Hi all, I have a select box, which i can populate using two methods. First - Just by selecting any one of the option in the select box. Second - I have a link just beside the select box.Clicking this link takes me to a page2, which has the same options but as links in page2.When i click one of them , it populates the select box. Selecting the option directly from the "select" triggers an onchange event in it. But when i click the link, select my required option from that page, it does not trigger the onchange event in the select box. I am not sure where i am doing a mistake. Thanks in advance.

• How can I compile an autotools project with statically linked dependancies?

  There's an open source library I want to use. As I want to spread my software as binary package, I do not want the library to have dependancies on other libraries, so I need to link the dependancies statically. Now as the library is open source and there are no binaries provided, I compile it myself. The library uses autotools, and I didn't find any useful documentation on how to link dependancies statically. What I did try is to call the configure script with --enable-static, but this apparently only tells configure to compile a static version of the library - but what I need is a dynamic library that includes all the libraries it depends on. So, I need a way to either tell configure to link against dependancies statically, or a way to post-process the built library to include all dependancies. Can anyone tell me how to do this? Oh, and if it matters: I'm on 64bit Snow Leopard.

The problem I'm having is that if div#addnote-area is below the browser's current viewport, it remains there when it's shown. • How to implement "drag n drop" user interface on website?

  Hello, I was wondering what would be the best way to implement some kind of "drag n drop" user interface? What i mean is that there would be one main page and every link click (eg. other sections like about, gallery, contact form) would open a new drag n drop element on top of that main page. Something like windows desktop where you can move your application windows around the screen. Would it be best to call different functions with AJAX when a link is clicked? Like "gallery" link would call gallery-function and retrieve dynamically generated contents of that "window" with AJAX call and then just load that stuff on some div? Or would some other type of approach suit better for this? I hope I was able to explain this clearly enough. I'm looking for a proper "design pattern" to implement this. All suggestions are wellcome! :)

• Unwanted space between divs - HTML, CSS

  Hi, hows it going, I have searched through the forums and good old google and have found many answers but non seem to work on my page. Anyway here is the question, I have 2 divs that are positioned side by side, and I wish to get rid of the whitespace www.blisshair.com.au/test.html :(http://www.blisshair.com.au/test.html) I want to the black from the "link 1" to join to the main content in the center, Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thank you. EDIT: Tried opening in Internet explorer 8 and it seems top exactly how I want it, besides the 2 bottom divs not lining up, Is it possible to do this with an UL and SPAN tags ? I am aiming for a tabbed look, for example, when you click on link 2, the background around link 2 goes black and the black color "flows" into the main content page, sorry if this doesnt make sense, early AM here :D Thanks again

  Hello, I want to hide and show some form in my page. For each form theres a link, and i want that, when i click on this link, it hide and show the nearest form of the link.   Hi, In my web application, I use strust2 url tag to pass parameters like id etc., For example, I use a link to delete an entity and I use param to pass the id of the entity to be deleted. And I follow this throughout my web app for adding, editing, deleting an entity. During run time, sometimes, I don't get the params to be stored in my action's bean properties. When I see the link that is generated, I get something like <a href='/projit1/p/discuss/viewDiscussion.action?d=11&amp;amp;amp;projid=11&amp;amp;disid=4'> What are these amps for ? why do they sit in between the action calls (made by link via url tag actions ) ? By the time I traverse back and forth in my web app, I get 10s and 20s of amp sitting in the request URL. What is the problem here ? Please help.

  Hi I have managed to load an XDocument with xml data from this link http://go.yr.no/go/e/main/http://www.yr.no/place/Norway/Telemark/Sauherad/Gvarv/forecast.xml. I am using C# and .Net in Blend and producing a web app (ie some of the normal .Net functions is not included in the silverlight plugin). I have researched this a lot but can not figure out: how to put the "text" in the link node in a string variable and how to all put the "-11" from ? in a array and link it to the "time from"?   I'm building a Rails site that, among other things, allows users to build their own recipe repository. Recipes are entered either manually or via a link to another site (think epicurious, cooks.com, etc). I'm writing scripts that will scrape a recipe from these sites given a link from a user, and so far (legal issues notwithstanding) that part isn't giving me any trouble. However, I'm not sure where to put the code that I'm writing for these scraper scripts. My first thought was to put it in the recipes model, but it seems a bit too involved to go there; would a library or a helper be more appropriate? Also, as I mentioned, I'm building several different scrapers for different food websites. It seems to me that the elegant way to do this would be to define an interface (or abstract base class) that determines a set of methods for constructing a recipe object given a link, but I'm not sure what the best approach would be here, either. How might I build out these OO relationships, and where should the code go?

  I am trying to write a RegEx rule to find all a href HTML links on my webpage and add a 'rel="nofollow"' to them. However, I have a list of URLs that must be excluded (for exmaple, ANY (wildcards) internal link (eg. pokerdiy.com) - so that any internal link that has my domain name in is excluded from this. • ucommerce: how to change category template

  Using uCommerce 2, umbraco 4.7. I have a category side nav showing the categories using: <a> <xsl:attribute name="href"> <xsl:value-of select="CommerceLibrary:GetNiceUrlForCategory($catalogueName, @id)"/> </xsl:attribute> <xsl:value-of select="@displayName"/> </a> First of all, when hovering over the links it still shows an old catalogue name, even though I've renamed the catalogue and also hardcoded the catalogue name into: <xsl:variable name="catalogueName" select="'MyCatalogue'"/> When I click on the link generated by GetNiceUrlForCategory I get the standard template that comes with uCommerce started site. I've tried deleting the whole started site, but I just can't get it to link to a template I did for the category. I still don't quite understand how ucommerce knows which template to use for a category link. Soren? :) Cheers, Matt

  I'm having some issues with jqueryui tabs and linking to certain tabs on another page. Basically, each page has tabs, and all are navigational via drop down at the top, with each 'tab' being available in the drop down. Currently I'm able to text-link, but only within the page I'm on, and I'm just lost on the getting it to work correctly from page to page.   I'm working on a Python script that transforms this: foo bar Into this: [[Component foo]] [[bar]] The script checks (per input line) if the page "Component foo" exists. If it exists then a link to that page is created, if it doesn't exist then a direct link is created. The problem is that I need a quick & cheap way to check if a lot of wiki pages exist.I don't want to (try to) download all the 'Component' pages. I already figured out a fast way to do this by hand: Edit a new wiki page. paste all the 'component' links into the page, press preview, and then save the resulting preview HTML page. The resulting HTML file contains a different link for existing pages than for non-existing pages. So to rephrase my question: How can I save a mediawiki preview page in Python?

  OK this is a 2 part question, I've seen and searched for several methods to get a list of unique values for a class and haven't been practically happy with any method so far. So anyone have a simple example code of getting unique values for instance for this code. • Using indentation to make CSS more readable? (making parents and children more identifiable in CSS)

  I've been always guiding myself with the following CSS structure: #nav { } #nav li { } #nac li a { } This structure tells me clearly who is the parent and the child. But in a recent article (I think it was CSS Trick) someone said that CSS is read from right to left. So the more tags I had the slower it will be (and sometimes I think its unnecessary to write every single tag involve in the selector). So it may be something like this: #nav { } #special-link { } where #special-link is #nav's child. I know this is not a big problem in a simple stylesheet but in a big one I always would get confused about who is who's parent and child. Another solution would be: #nav { } #special-link { } Indentation How do you solve with this CSS dilemma?
