  I'm using PMEase QuickBuild to perform automated builds of our Maven2 projects and a nightly sanity test to ensure nothing is broken. The test needs to untar packages which are created by the automated Maven2 projects. The problem is that the package names change frequently due to project versions being incremented all the time. Does anyone know how I can configure QuickBuild to pick up the version (ideally from the POM file of the individual components), if this is possible at all?

  Here is my test: I access a servlet to get the JVM to load (absorb the loading request). Then i access a JSP that has <%= 5+7 %> in it and nothing else. The first access to this JSP uses 350ms of CPU time and has latency of 200ms. Subsequent accesses only have latency and cpu time of about 20ms. Why does the first access to the jsp after starting the servlet container take longer?

  In the Android open-source qemu code I ran across this line of code: machine->max_cpus = machine->max_cpus ?: 1; /* Default to UP */ It this just a confusing way of saying: if (machine->max_cpus) { ; //do nothing } else { machine->max_cpus = 1; } If so, wouldn't it be clearer as: if (machine->max_cpus == 0) machine->max_cpus = 1; Interestingly, this compiles and works fine with gcc, but doesn't compile on http://www.comeaucomputing.com/tryitout/ .

  I am developing an iOS app that is password protected and all the users are stored in a wordpress account that, of course, is password protected as well. Does anybody know the format that wordpress uses to store login information for these accounts, I would assume that it is a MySQL that sends a json? I have only been able to find the database code for the initial admin page but nothing that shows the way these accounts (815 to be exact) would be stored within the site.

In several places I found descriptions like this: "What’s special about I/O actions is that if they fall into the main function, they are performed." But in the following example, 'greet' never returns and therefore nothing should be printed. import Control.Monad main = greet greet = forever $ putStrLn "Hello World!" • UIView fine for iPhone 4in, but squashed in iPhone 3.5in

  I started a new project in the new Xcode, and I see that my default the main window is set to 320x548. I'm fine with that, but when I test my app, a view I added to my main xib, which is supposed to be 280x280, looks more like 280x200 when testing on 3.5in devices. I've tried changing the settings for that view in the xib, but nothing seems to affect it. How do I ensure background compatibility so that in older devices the view is the same size?

  I have made a very simple program in C#. When I double click the compiled exe, it executes and works. When I run the exe from the command prompt, it does absolutely nothing. I have tried executing it from an Administrator command prompt also. I am on Windows 7. This is very frustrating.   Lets say I have something like... void foo() { char c[100]; printf("this function does nothing useful"); } When foo is called, it creates the array on the stack, and when it goes out of scope, is the memory deallocated automatically? Or is c destroyed, but the memory remains allocated, with no way to access it/get it back except restarting the computer?

• About the armlink behavior when the linked object is not explicitly used by the main executable

  I want to link the example with liba.so, and also the example is NOT using anything inside the liba.so ... armlink --userlibpath /mylib/lib liba.so --fpic --shared -o example main.o demo.o So finally I got nothing from: readelf -d example | grep NEEDED, it seems that armlink do some optimization to remove the linked library which is not really used by the "example" ? If I want to let the liba.so be always linked into example, what need I do with armlink options ? Any information is very appreciated ;)

• MySQL charset issue.

  I'm not sure exactly why this happened, but I'm assuming it was an dump and import. The db is full of characters like — for commas and such. I've tried various solutions on the web, but nothing seems to work. I've verified that the html header specifies utf8. Any ideas on how I can get the entire db back to normal characters?
