  • android Emulator always stop at "waiting for Home..."

    hi,there, I freshed install Eclipse, jdk, android sdk 1.5 in winxp. but when I run the "hello world" app, the emulator always stop at "andorid" loading message. In eclipse console, it shows "waiting for HOME..." and in DDMS LogCat, it shows following msg: there are some error and warning. So, what's wrong with my case? I have googled lots of results, but no one can help me. Please help me.     I've turned on dynamic content compression in IIS 7, but Fiddler is showing that my dynamic pages are still being served without content-encoding: gzip. Static content compression is working fine on the same servers. Not sure if it matters but most of the dynamic pages are coldfusion pages and we're also using the IIS URL rewriting module.   • Why do (Russian) characters in some received emails change when reading in David InfoCenter?

    I'm using David InfoCenter as email Software, and I have troubles with some of my emails in Russian. It's only a few letters, in some emails (sent from different people), like for example the "R" ("P" in russian) will be shown as a "T". In other emails in Russian, the problem doesn't appear. Isn't it strange? Does anyone had the same problem already and found where it came from? When I transmit that email to an external mailbox (internet email account), it's even worse, and gives me symbols instead of all Russian letters... The default encoding was "Russian (ISO)", I changed it to "Russian (Windows)", but same problem. Another weird reaction is when I write an intern email and name it TEST in Russian (????), with ???? in the text window, it changes the title to "Oano"? But the content stays in Russian...   • Strange corruption saving from Textpad 5 within Windows 7-64 VirtualBox VM to shared folder with Mac host

    I have a fairly new Window-7 64bit install running in Virtual Box on a MacBook Pro. I'm using TextPad 5 within that environment to edit source files that live on a shared folder that is on the Mac Host. When I save some of these source files, the saved file ends up with some amount of the end of the file repeated one or more times. For example, a file that has this at the end: ... return ttp; }; would, once saved, open up with: ... return ttp; }; }; It is definitely a problem with how the file gets written as opposed to how it's read, because I can see this now matter what app I use to open the file with (NotePad & Word in Windows 7, TextWrangler back in the Mac). I've tried saving as ANSI and UTF-8, and with or without the 'Write Unicode and UTF-8 BOM' checked in TextPad preferences. It doesn't happen with all files though I can't see any pattern about which files do or don't have the problem. It doesn't happen with files written to the Windows 7 c:\ drive. And so far it doesn't happen from other applications saving files, only TextPad. Any ideas? My versions: Textpad 5.4.2 Windows 7 Professional 64-bit, fully up to date VirtualBox 4.0.8 r71778 OSX 10.6.7

  • Encoding over SSH Issues

    I have a Linux machine and a Windows machine, both using Vim with the Powerline plugin. They both work great with patched fonts. Next, I want to SSH onto an OSX 10.6 machine and also use the Powerline in the terminal with Vim. However, I get weird symbols with normal mode ("^^B" in one area) and fancy mode ("~@" and "~B" spread throughout the bar. I thought this mixup was an encoding issue, but when I look at Putty's encoding it is using UTF-8 and the same with the Ubuntu terminal. Additionally, on the OSX machine, "locale" returns "en_US.UTF-8" for all variables (I set it to do that in order to troubleshoot). However, the symbols are still showing. I am using a patched font (Inconsolata, the same one as the Ubuntu terminal) for the OSX terminal, so I am stumped. Is there a missing component to this equation? Are there additional problems that can arise from SSH encoding? On the OSX end, additionally, these same symbols appear, so it may not even be related to SSH and therefore I'm totally lost.

  • Saving a file in a CSV type in Excel always removes the BOM

    I've been trying to find a reasonable solution/explanation (unsuccessfully) to find out why Excel defaults to removing the BOM when saving a file to the CSV type. Please forgive me if you find this a duplicate of this question. This handles reading CSV files with non-ASCII encoding, but it doesn't cover saving the file back out (which is where the biggest issue lies). Here is my current situation (which I'm going to gather is common among localized software dealing with Unicode characters and a CSV format): We export data to a CSV format using UTF-16LE, ensuring the BOM is set (0xFFFE). We validate after the file is generated with a Hex editor to ensure it was set correctly. Open the file in Excel (for this example we're exporting Japanese characters) and witness that Excel handles loading the file with the correct encoding. Attempts to save this file will prompt you with a warning message indicating that the file may contain features that may not be compatible with Unicode encoding, but asks if you'd like to save anyway. If you select the Save As dialog, it will immediately ask you to save the file as "Unicode Text" rather than CSV. If you select the "CSV" extension and save the file it removes the BOM (obviously along with all the Japanese characters). Why would this happen? Is there a solution to this problem, or is this a known 'bug'/limitation of Excel? Additionally (as a side issue) it appears that Excel, when loading UTF-16LE encoded CSV files, only uses TAB delimiters. Again, is this another known 'bug'/limitation of Excel?

    I have 2 tomcat machines behind a load balancer on Amazon EC2. Until now The load balancer was configured to respond only on https. So in order to access our services you would go to https://url. Tomcat was configured to listen on 8080 but the connector had additional params that would tell tomcat that it is behind a proxy and that it should respond on HTTPS 443. The connector looks like this: <Connector scheme="https" secure="true" proxyPort="443" proxyHost="my.domain.name" port="8080" protocol="HTTP/1.1" connectionTimeout="20000" redirectPort="8443" useBodyEncodingForURI="true" URIEncoding="UTF-8" /> What i would like to do is to open port 80 on the load balancer and basically allow traffic on HTTP and HTTPS. I've configured the load balancer to redirect all HTTP traffic to the tomcat machines on port 8088. I was thinking that i could define a new connector so that all HTTPS traffic goes to 8080 and HTTP to 8088. Unfortunately i did not succeed.     After recompiling a new kernel on CentOS 6.3, using the same kernel I have been using on several other machines, I am getting a kernel panic on two machines. I get the following when trying to boot: drivers/rtc/hctosys.c: unable to open rtc device (rtc0) (flashes this before displaying the panic below) not syncing: Attempted to kill init! exitcode=0x00000100 Pid: 1, comm: init Not tainted etc... I have been trying to figure out what is going on, and am having trouble doing so, and feel I have exhausted all of my options here. Any help would be appreciated.     I wanted to help a friend who has some restrictions at work to visit certain sites. Locally, on a Windows 7 machine, I run Apache server and decided to make it a proxy just for the IP of my friend. So I added the following to the configuration file: ProxyRequests On ProxyVia On <Proxy *> Order deny,allow Deny from all Allow from <his.ip> </Proxy> It worked fine. Actually, i found out that this error just happens on a ctrl+c signal, so it could be not representative about the error itself. The command i run is very basic: rsync -avz --delete /local/path/ username@host:/path/to/remote/directory Basically, the rsync just stuck there and nothing's happening, until i ctrl+c. After interrupting the process i got the error in subject. I tried basic troubleshoot such as: ping the remote host ssh -l username remote.host check software firewall logs i asked the remote host sysadmin to check for logs, and when i run that command a ssh connection is actually being established and i can state there is no comunication/authentication/name resolution issue here. Rolling back to old router make this work again. Both client and server are running ubuntu 10.04. Try to take a look at my router configuration, where i'm no experienced at all, but i didnt see any "suspect" (what i was looking for is firewall blocking something) setting. The router itself is DLINK DVA-G3670B. Any suggestion? Thank You F.

  • Saving a file in a CSV type in Excel always removes the BOM

    I've been trying to find a reasonable solution/explanation (unsuccessfully) to find out why Excel defaults to removing the BOM when saving a file to the CSV type. Please forgive me if you find this a duplicate of this question. This handles reading CSV files with non-ASCII encoding, but it doesn't cover saving the file back out (which is where the biggest issue lies). Here is my current situation (which I'm going to gather is common among localized software dealing with Unicode characters and a CSV format): We export data to a CSV format using UTF-16LE, ensuring the BOM is set (0xFFFE). We validate after the file is generated with a Hex editor to ensure it was set correctly. Open the file in Excel (for this example we're exporting Japanese characters) and witness that Excel handles loading the file with the correct encoding. Attempts to save this file will prompt you with a warning message indicating that the file may contain features that may not be compatible with Unicode encoding, but asks if you'd like to save anyway. If you select the Save As dialog, it will immediately ask you to save the file as "Unicode Text" rather than CSV. If you select the "CSV" extension and save the file it removes the BOM (obviously along with all the Japanese characters). Why would this happen? Is there a solution to this problem, or is this a known 'bug'/limitation of Excel? Additionally (as a side issue) it appears that Excel, when loading UTF-16LE encoded CSV files, only uses TAB delimiters. Again, is this another known 'bug'/limitation of Excel?

    So I want to build a XHTML 1.0 Strict based website. Using Notepad++ for syntax highlighting came as an idea to me. But when I tried to put the XML declaration (as stated in the spec, proper XHTML pages should use a XML declaration and be served as application/xhtml+xml) I can't get the entire document highlighted propperly.     I'm trying to create a Cocoa framework by using a cross-project reference in Xcode. I have 2 projects: one for the framework; one for the application that will use the framework. This framework is not intended to be stored within the system; it is an embedded framework that lives within the application bundle. I have successfully made the cross-project reference, marked the framework as being a dependency of my target, added a Copy Files build phase that puts the framework in Contents/Frameworks/ and added the framework to the linker phase (I checked the little "Target" checkbox; I've also done it manually by dragging the framework into the linker phase). My framework's install directory is correctly set to @executable_path/../Frameworks. However, when I try to build my app it: a) Correctly builds the framework first b) Correctly copies the framework c) Errors because it cannot find the master header file in my framework I have verified that the header is there. I can see it in the app product that is partially built. ls build/Debug/CioccolataTest.webapp/Contents/Frameworks/Cioccolata.framework/Headers/Cioccolata.h build/Debug/CioccolataTest.webapp/Contents/Frameworks/Cioccolata.framework/Headers/Cioccolata.h I have been able to successfully build the app by copying my framework into /Library/Frameworks (I can then delete it again after the successful build), but this is a workaround, I'm looking to find it out why Xcode doesn't find the framework's master header file without it being copied to a system directory. Is copying it to the app bundle during the build not sufficient?     I can marshal and unmarshal 1 object with no problems (in netbeans); I need to know how to do this with multiple objects? I can't generate anything but null pointer exceptions when trying to unmarshal 3 objects into an array from XML; so I don't even know if I've marshalled the 3 out correctly. I know the basic idea of declaring the object, then using the jaxbu or jaxbm command, but I'd like to see this working for more than one object. **TLDR: How do I marshal/unmarshal multiple objects of a single class into/out of XML??
